A social psychologist by training, his study of work and career choice reflects his desire to apply social psychology to a concrete issue. He believes work provides one of the most important opportunities to study the interface between individual and society. He has published in the areas of career choice, social psychology, cross-cultural psychology, history of psychology, and the philosophy of science.
