Abstract: Character education is an effort to develop a person's potential to form a good personality with noble character and high morals. The problem in this research is that the value of character education is starting to fade in elementary school students. The aim of this research is to find out the character values in the Sangkuriang Folklore Book. The method used in this research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The study in this research is the character values in the Sangkuriang Folklore Book and its teaching materials in elementary schools. This book contains various character values that are useful in developing and shaping children's characters. The results of this research show that there are character values in the Sangkuriang Folklore Book, namely (1) Religious, (2) Social, (3) Justice, (4) Honesty, (5) Independence, (6) Fighting power, (7) Responsibility answer, (8) work hard, and (9) be friendly. Based on the research results, the book is suitable and can be used as teaching material that teachers can use in teaching in elementary schools.
