  • Jurnal Sains dan Teknologi (JSIT)
  • Aloisius Egi Sanjaya + 3 more

The use of Information Technology (IT) in distribution companies plays a crucial role in supporting operational efficiency, data accuracy, and business continuity. PT VWX is a stationery (ATK) distribution company that procures goods from factories and distributes them to suppliers in large quantities. The company relies on a centralized application provided by the head office and utilizes Microsoft Excel for data input processes. This dependency creates several IT-related risks, including human error in data entry, dependency on centralized systems, limited IT human resources, and outdated hardware specifications. This study aims to analyze IT risk management at PT VWX using the COBIT 5 framework, specifically the APO12 (Manage Risk) domain. The research method involved interviews with IT personnel and an analysis of the As-Is and To-Be conditions. The results indicate that the current IT risk management capability level is at Level 2 (Managed Process), which has not yet reached the targeted Level 3 (Established Process). Therefore, formal procedures, risk registers, and improved risk mitigation mechanisms are required to achieve more systematic and proactive IT risk management.

This research aims to analyze the integration of information technology in Indonesian language learning at the Inpres 18 Elementary School (SD) in Sorong Regency. With the increasing development of technology, the use of information technology in education has become very important to improve the quality of learning, especially in Indonesian language subjects. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data was collected through interviews, observation and documentation involving teachers, students and school principals. The research results show that although information technology has begun to be introduced in learning, its use is still limited to the use of digital tools such as projectors and computers for presenting material. Apart from that, several obstacles faced include limited facilities and infrastructure, lack of training for teachers in using technology, and low levels of technology skills among students. This research suggests the need to increase training for teachers and provide adequate facilities to support the use of information technology in the Indonesian language learning process. It is hoped that with more optimal integration, Indonesian language learning in elementary schools can be more interesting, interactive and effective.

The use of information technology (IT) in the culinary business sector has become increasingly essential to support service efficiency, transaction accuracy, and operational data security. Nevertheless, many micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) still experience limitations in implementing structured and well-documented IT governance. This study aims to evaluate the governance of IT infrastructure at Ryudon Cafe & Resto, an MSME in the culinary sector, using the COBIT 2019 framework. The evaluation focuses on four selected domains: DSS01 (Manage Operations), DSS02 (Manage Service Requests and Incidents), DSS05 (Manage Security), and BAI09 (Manage Assets). This research adopts a qualitative case study approach, with data collected through observations and interviews. The results indicate that IT operational activities have not been formally documented, service incidents are not systematically recorded, security controls are implemented informally, and IT asset management lacks an official inventory. These conditions suggest potential risks to operational continuity and information security. Based on the findings, several recommendations are proposed, including the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs), incident logging mechanisms, formal security policies, and structured IT asset inventories. The study demonstrates that COBIT 2019 can be effectively applied within MSME environments as a practical framework to strengthen IT governance and support sustainable organizational development.

The use of digital media and information technology in learning has become a fundamental necessity in this modern era. Digital media, such as instructional videos, interactive presentations, and online platforms, have been proven to improve students' understanding, motivation, and interest in learning by providing more interactive and engaging learning. In the context of Islamic Religious Education (PAI), the use of digital media not only strengthens Islamic knowledge but also helps shape students' character and religious attitudes. However, the implementation of this technology still faces challenges such as limited infrastructure, teacher skills, and dependence on the internet. Information technology-based learning also has a significant impact on students' learning interests. With this approach, students are encouraged to learn independently, think critically, and be more active in the learning process. However, most teachers still tend to use conventional methods with textbooks as the primary medium, which can lead to boredom and low student interest in learning. Therefore, the integration of information technology in learning must continue to be encouraged to improve the quality of education and develop a generation that is adaptive to current developments.

  • Alberto Lopez-Garcia + 13 more

BackgroundBarriers to eHealth use include lack of technological infrastructure, resistance to change, and inequities in access. However, patterns of access to and use of eHealth tools in people being treated for cancer have not been fully described in the literature.ObjectiveOur aim was to describe the patterns of access to and use of eHealth tools among outpatients receiving treatment for hematological malignancies and solid tumors.MethodsWe conducted a cross-sectional multicenter study using a survey offered to patients aged over 18 years receiving outpatient treatment for hematological malignancies or solid tumors at 4 teaching hospitals in Madrid, Spain, between February 1, 2021, and November 30, 2021. The survey instrument featured questions about patients’ demographic and social characteristics, cancer diagnosis, use of information and communication technology (ICT), use and opinions of the Patient Portal, and changes in ICT use during the COVID-19 pandemic. To study the relationship between the different variables, 2-tailed Student t tests or ANOVA were used for variables with normal distribution, and the Mann-Whitney or Kruskal-Wallis tests were used for variables with nonnormal distribution. Statistical analyses were performed using SPSS (version 25; IBM Corp) for Windows.ResultsIn total, 200 patients were included in our study. Median age was 60 (range 21‐87) years. A total of 130 (65%) patients presented with hematological malignancies. Most (n=181, 90.5%) patients considered that eHealth tools might help to improve communication with the medical team during their treatment. Retired participants (28.6% vs 71.4%; P<.001), those older than 60 years (26% vs 74%; P<.001), and those without higher education (2.6% vs 97.4%; P<.001) showed significantly lower rates of internet use, with no observed sex-related differences. A total of 177 (88.5%) patients found the Patient Portal useful, and 140 (70%) reported increased use of ICT due to the COVID-19 pandemic.ConclusionsMost (177/200, 88.5%) patients viewed eHealth tools as useful and believed that it was helpful to improve communication with their care team. However, notable gaps in the use of eHealth were observed in certain groups of patients, with significant differences in use due to age, education, and employment status. Strategies to identify subgroups at risk for unequal access to digital health, as well as to facilitate access and use, are warranted.

  • Jan 12, 2026
  • Trauma, violence & abuse
  • Noelle Warkentin + 5 more

With the growing use of information technology, individuals are now able to hurt others, often with little recourse due to the anonymity provided in these online spaces. Cyberviolence (CV) can cause significant psychological and even physical harm as it has the potential to spill into the offline realm. Prevention programs have been implemented to address CV among youths, though additional evidence is necessary to inform initiatives that could be implemented to prevent various forms of CV. A scoping review was thus carried out to identify and map studies on issues related to the prevention of CV among youths. The review followed PRISMA reporting guidelines, and nine electronic databases were searched. In total, 114 empirical manuscripts (119 individual studies) were identified that met the inclusion criteria of addressing a CV prevention program. Studies were most commonly quantitative (n = 86), using randomized controlled trials (n = 35) or quasi-experimental designs (n = 24), though qualitative (n = 23) and mixed-methods (n = 10) designs were also used. Findings revealed that intervention programs mainly targeted cyberbullying (n = 100), followed by cyber dating abuse (n = 4) and cyberaggression (n = 5). Other forms of CV appeared in fewer than three studies. Most frequently, interventions took an educative approach (n = 62), and program components were typically activities (n = 27) or lessons (n = 20). Most commonly, program objectives targeted outcomes (n = 44) or processes (n = 31), with some targeting both (n = 15). Results from our review reveal that several programs utilized strong methodological designs, offering the potential for new systematic reviews to be conducted to document the effectiveness of several types of programs targeting CV.

  • Macarena Esteban Ibañez + 2 more

This study examines patterns of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) use during leisure time among non-university students in the Autonomous Community of Andalusia (Spain) and explores their potential to inform environmental education initiatives. Two research questions guided the study: (1) Which devices and usage times characterize students’ digital leisure according to gender and educational level? (2) How can these patterns inform the design of contextualized environmental education actions? A cross-sectional quantitative study was conducted using a survey administered to 1251 students enrolled in Primary Education, Compulsory Secondary Education, Upper Secondary Education (Baccalaureate), and Vocational Training in the cities of Seville, Malaga, Cádiz, and Granada. The questionnaire, consisting of 49 items, assessed the use of television, tablets, mobile phones, computers, and video games during leisure time. Data were analysed using descriptive statistics, inferential analysis (ANOVA), and multivariate analysis (MANOVA). The results highlight the central role of the mobile phone as the dominant device across all educational stages, as well as significant age-related differences in the use of television, tablets, and video games. Gender differences were found only in the time devoted to video gaming. The main contribution of this study lies in providing updated empirical evidence on youth digital leisure within a specific geographical context, identifying opportunities to integrate digital resources into environmental education initiatives that are sensitive to educational stage and gender and aligned with sustainability goals. The use of ICTs is proposed to create interactive educational experiences that prepare students to address ecosocial challenges, promote sustainable development, and foster a stronger connection with the natural environment.

  • Joy Valerie G Gigataras

The effective utilization of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) has become a critical determinant of organizational efficiency, transparency, and service delivery in public institutions. This study examined the challenges encountered in ICT utilization and the corresponding prescriptive measures within the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Iloilo 1st District Engineering Office. Using a quantitative, cross-sectional survey design, data were gathered from 130 employees selected through purposive sampling. The study employed descriptive and inferential statistics, including frequency, percentage, mean, Mann–Whitney U test, and Kruskal–Wallis H test. Findings revealed that employees experienced high levels of ICT-related challenges, particularly in stakeholder management, communication flow, coordination, and risk management. Significant differences in challenges were found when respondents were grouped according to status of employment and division, while no significant differences were observed across age, educational attainment, or length of service. Prescriptive measures received near-unanimous support across all classifications, indicating strong organizational consensus toward ICT reform. Moreover, no significant relationship was found between the level of challenges and prescriptive measures, suggesting that employees support reform regardless of the severity of difficulties encountered. The study concludes that ICT barriers in the organization are structural rather than individual in nature and recommends the establishment of a comprehensive ICT governance framework, capacity-building programs, and a unified digital transformation strategy to enhance institutional effectiveness.

The Influence of the Use of Information Technology on Internationalization Export Performance in Indonesian Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises
  • Dec 31, 2025
  • Applied Quantitative Analysis
  • Santi Rahmawati

Although micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) hold an important role in Indonesian economic growth, especially MSMEs that have already done internationalization through export and the use of information technology (IT) for leveraging, there is limited data that can explain their factors and relationships that can influence export performance in order to achieve more. This study aims to analyse the roles of information technology (IT) and internationalization in explaining export performance in micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). International entrepreneurial orientation, organisational learning orientation, and product/service quality are posited as the basis of internationalization analysis. Respondents are 104 MSMEs involved in the foreign market. This study uses a quantitative method, partial least squares (PLS), to test the hypothesis. The results indicate that export performance is positively significant influenced by international entrepreneurial orientation, and product/service quality. While the use of IT does not directly influence export performance, it does positively influence organisational learning orientation. The study also shows that organisational learning orientation does not positively influence the export performance. Studies on the internationalization of micro, small, and medium businesses in developing countries are still quite limited, so the study contributes to the existing literature on internationalization and international entrepreneurship research.

Indonesia has one of the highest child marriage rates in East Asia and the Pacific, with 27.8% of women marrying at a young age in East Java. This is despite the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) targets published in 2015 and 2030. In rural areas, access to education is uneven and lacking, particularly for women, who are burdened with various types of work and lack knowledge. Education is often seen as a long-term investment to eliminate backwardness and underdevelopment, but many members of society still believe that the social roles and functions of men and women are not the same. Gresik Regency, a district with rapid industrial sector development, has one of the highest poverty rates in East Java. Child marriage practices neglect the personal aspects of women and children's rights, such as survival, development, protection, and equal participation. This hinders women's empowerment due to economic issues, as the effort to marry off underage children is driven by the desire to lighten parents' burden. To address this issue, the Community Partnership Program proposal aims to create educational modules and videos for gender sensitive and information technology-oriented curriculum development to prevent child marriage among junior high school students in Gresik. The use of information technology, specifically the internet and social media, will be optimized to conduct literacy on the impact of child marriage.
