Different experimental approaches have demonstrated that children with sleep breathing disorders (SBD) exhibit neurocognitive and behavioural impairment. The present systematic review and meta-analysis aims to quantify neurocognitive deficit disorders in mouth breathing paediatric patients by summarising relevant case-controls studies. Neurocognitive assessment was undertaken with WISC. A search strategy was developed on electronic databases including Medline (Pubmed), Scopus, Scileo; Cochrane library from 2000 to June 2022 for published studies analysing neurocognitive skills in children with SBD compared to healthy control groups. The review was performed according to the PRISMA protocol and articles were selected according to the established inclusion and exclusion criteria. The Weighted Mean Differences (95% Confidence Intervals) were calculated between results obtained in WISC tests in SBD patients and healthy subjects. Our results confirmed that SBD affected children performed worse than healthy children in terms of quite all the cognitive domains investigated.

Objectives: This study aims to explore global research trends in pharmacoeconomics over the past decade through a bibliometric analysis of publications from 2015 to 2024. Methods: A bibliomet-ric analysis of pharmacoeconomic research articles published between 2015 and 2024, sourced from the PubMed database, was conducted using a structured search strategy targeting economic evaluation terms in combination with drug-related keywords. Data were analyzed using the Bib-lioshiny interface of the bibliometrix R package to assess publication trends, journal and institutional productivity, international collaboration, and thematic evolution. Citation data were further en-riched using metadata retrieved via the CrossRef REST API utilizing the httr, jsonlite, dplyr, and purrr packages in R. Results: The most prolific journals included Journal of Medical Economics , Pharma-coeconomics, andPLOS ONE. Foundational concepts such as ''cost-effectiveness analysis'' and ''sys-tematic review'' remained dominant throughout the decade. Since 2020, disease-specific terms like ''type diabetes'', ''chronic hepatitis'', ''lung cancer'', and ''urothelial carcinoma'' gained promi-nence, reflecting increasing interest in evaluating interventions for high-burden diseases. When considering all-author affiliations, China had the highest number of publications. However, when limited to corresponding authors, typically indicating research leadership, the United States and the United Kingdom led in output and citation impact. Conclusion: This bibliometric review highlights significant trends in pharmacoeconomics research over the last decade. There is a growing empha-sis on evaluating therapies for infectious and chronic diseases, with strong contributions from US-and UK-based institutions. These findings can guide future research priorities, funding allocation, and collaborative strategies in global health economics.

As the impact of angiotensin receptor/neprilysin inhibitor (ARNI) on cardiac function in acute myocardial infarction (AMI) patients is unclear in clinical therapy, we conducted this research to investigate the actual effects of improving cardiac function with ARNI in AMI patients. Publications were checked up to June 2022. Standardised mean differences (SMD) and 95% confidence intervals (CI) were utilised for assessing the size of the effect of continuous variables. To assess the magnitude of the effect of dichotomous variables, a relative risk (RR) with 95% CI was used. ARNI could improve left ventricular ejection fraction (SMD = 0.40; 95% CI: 0.23 - 0.58), while lowering left ventricular end-diastolic volume (SMD = -0.43, 95% CI: -0.78 to -0.08), left ventricular end-systolic volume (SMD = -0.39, 95% CI: -0.66 to -0.11) and left ventricular enddiastolic diameter (SMD = -0.49; 95% CI: -0.65 to -0.33). Besides, it could decrease the rates of major adverse cardiac events (RR = 0.55; 95% CI: 0.43 - 0.69) and heart failure (RR = 0.42; 95% CI: 0.31 - 0.58). ARNI could greatly improve cardiac function in AMI patients.

Over the past few years, neuroimaging studies have been performed in young adults with perinatally acquired HIV (PHIV) to study the impact of HIV infection on the central nervous system (CNS), but no recent review have been published. This review aims to identify brain areas where PHIV eems to have greater impact taking into account demographic, behavioral, and clinical characteristics in PHIV infected patients. For this purpose, PubMed and Medline searches were carried out which included studies from 2010 to April 2020. We performed a systematic review and included 26 articles using structural (brain morphometry and diffusion tensor imaging) and functional magnetic resonance imaging methods involving 1182 PHIV-infected participants. Ample evidence has been provided of HIV effects on underlying brain structure. However, information recorded in the studies is commonly incomplete and results sometimes contradictory. In addition to future improvements and dissemination of tools for the developing brain MRI processing and analysis, the inclusion of data related to HIV infection itself (including clinical and immunovirological characteristics as well as detailed information about antiretroviral treatment such as age at ART initiation) may be of vital importance to the better understanding of the impact of the disease on CNS.

Smart mobility is one of the important aspects for cities to imple-ment the smart city concept. smart mobility is the use of information technology for urban transportation systems in order to create inte-grated, effective, sustainable, easily accessible transportation ser-vices to support mobility, and improve the quality of life of urban communities. The main focus of this research is to answer the re-search questions in order to compile and present a comprehensive understanding of the concept of intelligent mobility, with an empha-sis on the latest developments and implementations of intelligent mobility in the scientific literature. This research uses the Systemat-ic Literature Review method to identify terminology, services, func-tions, and technologies, that are elements in the implementation of smart mobility. There are 30 previous research articles with publica-tion years 2018-2023 on smart mobility that contribute to this litera-ture review. The results of this literature review provide in-depth insights into how information and communication technologies can improve sustainability and efficiency in urban transportation sys-tems. By understanding previous research, this research provides a solid basis for the development and implementation of the concept of smart mobility.

Abstract Higher levels of Mental Health Literacy (MHL) have been linked to positive health out-comes, including more supportive attitudes towards mental health problems and help-seeking behaviours. There is a call for a broader approach that includes mental wellbeing, which is key for mental health promotion. Despite this, there is no universal definition or comprehensive measures for MHL. This umbrella review aims to synthesise existing sys-tematic reviews to clarify how MHL has been conceptualised and operationalised over the past 25 years. Following the PROSPERO protocol CRD42024585946, systematic searches were con-ducted in databases including CINAHL, MEDLINE, Life Sciences Databases, OVID, PsycINFO, and PubMed, covering literature from 2000 to 2024. Reviews addressing MHL in various contexts and age groups were included. Data extraction and quality assess-ment were performed independently by two authors, with discrepancies resolved through discussion. The review identified key definitions and measures of MHL, with Jorm's framework being the most widely cited, defining MHL as knowledge and beliefs about mental disorders that aid their recognition, management, or prevention. Other definitions include components such as stigma reduction and help-seeking efficacy. Various measurement tools were also identified. The findings highlight the need for a comprehensive and universally accepted definition of MHL, emphasising the importance of including positive aspects of mental health and broader determinants in MHL measures. The umbrella review's strengths include its broad scope and systematic approach, while limitations involve potential biases in the included reviews. This umbrella review provides a synthesis of how MHL has been conceptualized and op-erationalised. By addressing gaps and inconsistencies in the literature, it can enhance the conceptual clarity and practical application of MHL. Other authors: Ösp Árnadóttir, Sólrún Ósk Lárusdóttir, Pia Solin

Self-report scales are widely used in psychology to compare means in latent constructs across groups, experimental conditions, or time points. However, for these comparisons to be meaningful and unbiased, the scales must demonstrate measurement invariance (MI) across compared time points or (experimental) groups. MI testing determines whether the latent constructs are measured equivalently across groups or time, which is essential for meaningful comparisons. We conducted a systematic review of 426 psychology articles with openly available data, to (a) examine common practices in conducting and reporting of MI testing, (b) assess whether we could reproduce the reported MI results, and (c) conduct MI tests for the comparisons that enabled sufficiently powerful MI testing. We identified 96 articles that contained a total of 929 comparisons. Results showed that only 4% of the 929 comparisons underwent MI testing, and the tests were generally poorly reported. None of the reported MI tests were reproducible, and only 26% of the 174 newly performed MI tests reached sufficient (scalar) invariance, with MI failing completely in 58% of tests. Exploratory analyses suggested that in nearly half of the comparisons where configural invariance was rejected, the number of factors differed between groups. These results indicate that MI tests are rarely conducted and poorly reported in psychological studies. We observed frequent violations of MI, suggesting that reported differences between (experimental) groups may not be solely attributed to group differences in the latent constructs. We offer recommendations aimed at improving reporting and computational reproducibility practices in psychology. (PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2025 APA, all rights reserved).

Abstract The aim of this systematic review was to evaluate the effects of consuming sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO 3 ) and to gain insight into the nature of any changes in performance following NaHCO 3 supplementation among combat sport athletes. The analysis of the results provides compelling evidence in favor of acute or chronic NaHCO 3 supplementation as an ergogenic substance which could have an impact on several aspects of performance in judo [23, 31, 32], taekwondo [17, 20], karate [17, 33] [28, 29], wrestling [18, 19], jiu-jitsu [32] and boxing [16]. Acute or chronic NaHCO 3 supplementation is effective in the improvement of several variables of physical performance in combat sports during testing and simulated matches. Enhanced performance resulted in the increased capacity of the glycolytic system. However, the positive effects of its use are most often visible following the onset of fatigue. In addition, the use of NaHCO 3 is associated with an increased concentration of lactate in the blood. This systematic review provides data relevant for sports professionals and athletes alike regarding the use of NaHCO 3 as a supplement, prior or during training and matches.

There are different perspectives on the psychological constructs of resilience and hypnotizability, and both are related to aspects of mental health. Resilience has been associated with protective variables, whereas hypnotizability has been related to psychopathological variables. This systematic review aims to identify the studies that associate hypnotizability with resilience and self-control. This review included studies with adults in which hypnotizability and resilience/self-control were associated with each other. Articles were identified by searching in PubMed, PubPsych, EMBASE, Scopus, ProQuest, and Web of Science databases. The search yielded 315 studies published until October 2022. None of them met the inclusion criteria. In these studies, hypnosis is used to generate changes in resilience. Findings show that hypnosis has beneficial effects on coping and symptoms associated with sickness and improves patients’ quality of life. However, studies exploring the possible association between resilience and hypnotizability have yet to be found. There continues to be a research bias by which hypnotizability is associated with psychopathological aspects. Given the positive effects of hypnosis and resilience on mental health, it is relevant to design studies investigating the relationship between hypnotizability and resilience.

Background: Breast cancer is the second most common cancer type and the leading cause of cancer-related death in women worldwide. While herbal medicines are sources of novel remedies for cancer patients, their efficacies remain unexplored. Objective: This study aimed to investigate the efficacy of Nigerian medicinal plants for breast cancer treatment using the Bayesian network meta-analytic approach. Methods: We searched Google Scholar, PubMed, Scopus, and Science Direct until January 2022 for articles that reported the efficacy of Nigerian medicinal plants for the treatment of breast cancer in preclinical models. The mean difference (MD) of cytotoxicity data was analyzed using a random effects model with a 95% credible interval (CrI). The surface under the cumulative ranking curve (SUCRA) was used to assess the ranking probabilities of the outcome measure. Results: A total of 13 articles were enrolled for qualitative and quantitative syntheses. The quality of the included studies ranges from low to moderate. Treatment of breast cancer cells for at least 48 hours caused cytotoxicity with no evidence of inconsistency. SUCRA indicated that fraction (MD: -10.5%, 95% CrI: -63.8, 43.3) performed better in killing cancer cells, followed by crude extract and then isolate with MD of -4.42% (95% CrI: -41.2, 33.4) and -2.67% (95% CrI: -64.3, 59.2), respectively. Conclusion: This meta-analysis provides evidence of the therapeutic benefits of Nigerian herbal medicines for the treatment of breast cancer. Future studies may examine these medicinal plants for breast cancer in animal and clinical trials with improved methodological quality.

Psychodrama and drama therapy are organized health professions where credentialed professionals intentionally employ experiential drama processes and techniques to ameliorate health and well-being within a therapeutic relationship. These drama-based therapies are used for mental health treatment across a range of clients and in various healthcare settings. The aims of this systematic review and meta-analysis were to (a) aggregate and synthesize the evidence on drama-based therapies, (b) assess the strength of the effects of drama-based therapies on mental health outcomes, and (c) examine which outcome, study, sample, or intervention characteristics moderated the strength of the effect on the outcomes. Inclusion criteria were randomized control trials and clinical control trials, mental health outcomes, and therapy interventions. The protocol for this study was registered at PROSPERO and seven databases were searched: Cochrane Library, Web of Science, Embase, Wiley Online Library, PubMed, PsycINFO, and Scopus. Risk of bias in the included studies was assessed and a multilevel meta-analysis was performed, containing 30 controlled studies, 144 effect sizes, and 1,567 participants. The results showed an overall medium effect of drama-based therapies on both psychological and behavioral mental health outcomes (d = .501, [.36, .64]). There was no statistically significant difference between psychodrama and drama therapy, and other selected characteristics did not have a statistically significant impact on treatment effectiveness. Although this meta-analysis was not restricted to randomized controlled trails, these findings suggest that group psychodrama and drama therapy are effective in contributing to clients' mental health, with similar overall effects as shown in other psychotherapies. Implications for future research are discussed.

Social entrepreneurship addresses social, environmental, and cultural challenges, aiming to create meaningful impact while ensuring financial sustainability. Unlike traditional entrepreneurship, it uses advanced technologies, unconventional models, and collaborative approaches for positive change. Despite Latin America's entrepreneurial spirit, their practices and successes lack international visibility due to language barriers and limited global database indexing. The main research question for this study was: What scientific research has been published on communication in Latin American social entrepreneurship in Spanish and Portuguese languages? The general objective was to systematically review scientific research publications on communication in Latin American social entrepreneurship conducted in Spanish and Portuguese languages. To address this question and meet the objective, a systematic review was conducted on literature available in the Scopus, Web of Science and Scielo databases, yielding 10 relevant experiences from 37 records after passing through 7 filters. Findings emphasize the importance of communication, social media, community strategies, online presence, storytelling, and partnerships for visibility and engagement. Brands use social entrepreneurship to enhance impact and reputation, addressing issues like unemployment and urban revitalization. These insights help engage stakeholders, mobilize resources, and foster community involvement. Policymakers can support social enterprises with better access to communication tools, training, networks, and visibility. Received: 28 November 2024 / Accepted: 26 May 2025 / Published: 05 July 2025

Sickle cell disease is a severe genetic disorder, and searching for therapeutic strategies is indispensable for prolonged and improved life for people affected by this condition. This qualitative systematic review aimed to highlight the therapeutic potential of omega- 3 (n-3) in people with sickle cell disease. The search was performed by combining sickle cell disease and n-3 descriptors in DeCS/ MeSH databases, including Scopus, PubMed, ScienceDirect, Web of Science, and Virtual Health Library. The risk of bias assessment in the primary studies was performed using the Cochrane risk of bias tool for randomized controlled trials. The evidence quality was evaluated using the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development, and Evaluation (GRADE) tool. From the 187 records identified, seven were selected for data collection. Based on the evidence, n-3 supplementation contributes to lower activation of pro-inflammatory biomarkers, improves the concentration of docosahexaenoic and eicosapentaenoic acids in the erythrocyte membrane, provides better hemostatic response, and helps in vaso-occlusive crisis, pain episodes, and hospitalization reduction. The findings suggest that n-3 adjuvant therapy favors the clinical and general aspects of people with sickle cell disease.

This study examines the architecture of food security as a pillar of sustainable development from the perspective of Maqashid Syariah, using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. The issue of food security is crucial, considering its broad impact on social, economic, and political aspects, as seen from the significant surge in Indonesian rice imports in 2023 and 2024. Although Indonesia has great agricultural potential, challenges such as limited production capacity, inadequate distribution infrastructure, and undiversified consumption patterns remain obstacles. This study integrates the concepts of food security, sustainable development (SDGs), and Maqashid Syariah, which seeks to safeguard the five basic human needs: religion ( hifzh al-din ), life ( hifzh al-nafs ), reason ( hifzh al-aql ), offspring ( hifzh al-nasl ), and wealth ( hifzh al-mal ). By analyzing 16 relevant articles from databases such as Google Scholar and Scopus, this study synthesizes a conceptual framework that positions food security as a manifestation of hifzh al-nafs and hifzh al-mal , and sustainable development as a manifestation of universal maslahah . It is found that Maqasid Syariah provides not only ethical justification, but also an operational framework for building a resilient food security system and achieving holistic sustainable development, supported by government policies, the use of data technology, community participation, and Islamic financial instruments. This alignment confirms that food security and sustainable development are moral and spiritual imperatives in Islam, aimed at creating true welfare ( hayatan tayyibah ) for all people.

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is considered to be an evidence-based psychological intervention for a wide range of mental health issues. This article systematically reviewed published empirical studies of CBT adapted for use within a religious context, specifically Islamically modified CBT (iCBT) for Muslims. The aim was to determine the extent to which this therapy can be considered an empirically supported treatment. We searched Medline, Embase, Education Resources Information Center/ProQuest, ScienceDirect, PubMed, APA PsycInfo, Cumulated Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature, Scopus, Google Scholar, and evidence-based medicine Reviews (Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials). All articles from inception to April 25, 2022 were included. The general inclusion criteria were patients of all age groups, primary diagnosis of any mental health issue, and CBT with components derived from Islam. Of the 2,091 unique articles identified during the initial search, nine studies with a total of 622 participants met our inclusion criteria. These comprised seven experimental design studies and two single-case design studies. The mental health outcomes were predominantly assessed through measures such as Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale, Hamilton Depression Rating Scale, Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI), etc. The findings indicated that iCBT interventions incorporating religious aspects showed potential benefits in reducing symptoms and improving functioning among religious individuals with mood and anxiety disorders. iCBT is a therapeutic approach informed by Muslim clients’ own Islamic beliefs, practices, and resources. It may help clients with mental health issues to develop thoughts and behaviors that enhance mental well-being. Our findings indicated that modifying CBT by adding religious/Islamic aspects may be suitable management for religious Muslims with mental health issues. The results are promising but require confirmation and refinement by further research.

Metabolic syndrome is a multifactorial disorder and genetics, lifestyle, and aging play important roles in its prevalence. Nigella sativa has several pharmacological benefits, including anti-inflammatory, antitumor, anti-diabetic, antioxidant, and hypolipidemic effects. This meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials assesses the effect of N. sativa consumption on lipid profile and glycemic indices in patients with metabolic syndrome. We systematically researched Cochrane Library, PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science databases. The literature research identified 171 studies with duplication. Of those, 73 articles were screened for titles and abstracts, and 7 studies were finally selected for the meta-analysis. Because of the high degree of heterogeneity, we performed subgroup analyses based on the dose of N. sativa (<=500 mg/day or >500 mg/day). The results revealed that N. sativa intake significantly decreased total cholesterol (SMD: -0.71; 95% CI, -1.44 to -0.38; p = 0.00), LDL-C (SMD: -1.06; 95% CI, -1.45 to -0.66; p = 0.00) and HDL-C (SMD: -0.31; 95% CI, 0.09 to 0.53; p = 0.01) concentrations. In addition, N. sativa significantly decreased FBS (SMD: -0.8; 95% CI, -1.21 to -0.39; p = 0.00) and HbA1c (SMD: -0.37; 95% CI, -0.66 to -0.09; p = 0.01) concentrations. No publication bias was observed, and sensitivity analysis showed stable results. The current systematic review and meta-analysis indicates that N. sativa could improve lipid profile and glycemic index in patients with metabolic syndrome.

While it has been demonstrated that delivery of cytotoxic chemotherapy using nanoparticles greatly improves patient drug tolerance and reduces toxicity when compared to the standard formulation, the crucial question of whether they also increase anticancer efficacy remains. The CRLX101 is a nanoparticle composed of cyclodextrin and 20(S)-camptothecin cytotoxic chemotherapy. In order to compare the efficacy of the CRLX101 to its corresponding traditional formulation, we carried out this systematic literature search for randomized clinical and non-randomized trials. Multiple electronic databases, including PubMed, Scopus, Embase, Web of Science, the Cochrane Library, and clinicaltrials.gov, were used to conduct a thorough literature search. By employing a technique akin to a random-effects model, the median of the study-specific was taken into account as the pooled median estimate with a 95% confidence interval. Finally, nine clinical studies were chosen for the meta-analysis. The treatment and control groups' overall survival were examined in five and three trials, respectively. Additionally, six out of nine trials and two out of nine trials, respectively, examined the treatment and control groups for progression-free survival (PFS). Meta-analysis revealed that the treatment group had a lower median overall survival (OS) but a greater median progression-free survival than the control group. Our meta-analysis shows that CRLX101 outperforms camptothecin in PFS despite its inferior OS. Unresolved pharmacology limits carrier-mediated drug therapeutic application. Carrier-mediated dosages may differ from normal formulations because they are rarely studied.
