LIVE FOLK-COLLOQUIAL SPEECH IN THE WORKS OF WRITERS ASSOCIATED WITH THE KOSTROMA REGION

In 2024, seven books were published in the series «Kostroma Dialects: Materials and Research», developed by N.S. Gantsovskaya, G.D. Neganova and T.V. Osipenko within the framework of the educational and scientific research laboratory «Lexicology and Lexicography» of Kostroma State University: three monographs, two dialect dictionaries, an ethnodialect dictionary-textbook and a study guide. This scientific and publishing project can be attributed to one of the largest in modern Russian philology. Its multidimensional nature is truly impressive, and its relevance, scientific value and social significance are beyond doubt. The published review is a review of one of the publications of the project – the collective monograph «The Folk Speech of the Kostroma Region in the Works of Writers».

Digital and technological modernization of the world's largest West Siberian oil and gas production center

The article examines the results of digital and technological modernization of the oil and gas industry within the framework of the state program "Digital Economy 2017-2024" in the implementation of measures proposed by academic institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences on the basis of a comprehensive scientific and technical program of a full innovation cycle, as well as the potential of exploratory and applied research to prepare a new state program "Data Economy" for the period up to 2030 of the year. The activities are a set of interrelated scientific, technical, digital solutions and innovative technologies that ensure the achievement of goals, developed with the leading participation of the Institute of Oil and Gas Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Oil and Gas Geology and Geophysics named after. A. A. Trofimuk SB RAS, program “Digital and technological modernization of the world’s largest West Siberian oil and gas production center.” The main goal of scientific research for the oil and gas economy of big geodata is the creation and implementation of digital modeling technologies, the development of ecosystems, computing platforms and digital twins of oil and gas assets, and the transportation of hydrocarbons to existing and newly created petrochemical clusters in order to develop the domestic market for their complete processing into products with high added value and strengthening the digital leadership of Russian energy companies. The key factor hindering the innovative development of the Russian oil and gas complex is the lack of high-performance computing systems. The main oil and gas tasks that require the involvement of supercomputers with peta- and exascale performance levels (1015 and 1018 floating point operations per second, respectively) include the tasks of managing the “digital ecosystem” of the world’s largest West Siberian oil and gas production center and unique oil and gas fields in the real time. The development of the digital ecosystem is proposed to be formed on the basis of platform solutions and comprehensive scientific and technical programs and projects of a full innovation cycle. The main problems in the sphere of creating a digital energy economy of big data have been identified: an acute shortage of personnel with digital competencies in the field of oil and gas production, specialists in opticalization, multisensorization, supercomputing, cybersecurity and petrorobotics.

Exploring deep-sea resources is an important step towards sustainable and efficient use of marine resources. Research may include analysis of biodiversity, ecosystem characteristics, and deep-sea fishing technologies and practices. Research in this area provides unique opportunities to advance understanding of the marine ecosystem for the development of deep-sea fisheries. This, in turn, helps to strengthen the sustainability and competitiveness of the Russian fishery complex in the long term. In the Russian Federation, the priority is to conduct scientific research in the field of deep-sea fishing, aimed both at developing the fishing of deep-sea objects and at studying them for the purpose of processing for the pharmaceutical industry. The development of innovative methods for catching mesopelagic fish and deep-sea aquatic organisms is an important task for the scientific community of the Russian Federation. The equations designed to describe various processes that occur during the operation of bottom and mid-depth trawl systems are discussed. The complexity of solving the above equations indicates the advisability of dividing exploitation processes into micro-level, macro-level and meta-level. The theory of multiphysics similarity allows you to simulate processes at various levels. Computer programs are presented that make it possible to recalculate the results of model experiments from a model of a trawl complex to a full-scale trawl complex.

A Critical Review on Advancing Preventive Health Research in Ayurveda: Strategic Approaches and Imperatives

Preventive health research in Ayurveda offers valuable strategies for disease prevention and health promotion, particularly in the context of modern health challenges such as non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and pandemics like COVID-19. This review critically examines strategic approaches for advancing preventive health research within Ayurveda, emphasizing the need for evidence-based validation, integration with modern scientific methodologies, and global collaboration. Key practices, including Rasayana therapy, Dinacharya, and Ritucharya, demonstrate significant potential in enhancing immunity, promoting longevity, and mitigating lifestyle-related ailments. However, challenges such as limited clinical evidence, standardization issues, and underutilization of advanced research tools hinder progress. Addressing these challenges through rigorous clinical trials, interdisciplinary research, and policy advocacy can ensure Ayurveda’s relevance in contemporary healthcare systems. The integration of traditional Ayurvedic knowledge with modern scientific approaches will enhance the global applicability of Ayurveda in preventive health.

Ecological Restoration and Zonal Management of Degraded Grassland Based on Cost–Benefit Analysis: A Case Study in Qinghai, China

The Qinghai–Tibetan Plateau (QTP) has the largest area of natural grassland in China, and continuous grassland degradation poses a serious threat to regional ecological security and sustainable resource management. It is essential to comprehensively evaluate the cost–benefit differences and drivers of grassland degradation across various zones to enhance sustainable management practices. This study presents a zonal management framework for the ecological restoration of degraded grasslands based on cost–benefit analysis, specifically applied to Qinghai in the Northeastern QTP. The results indicate: (1) Although the overall NDVI of grasslands shows an upward trend, some areas still exhibit significant degradation. (2) Cost–benefit analysis can divide degraded grasslands into four types of Ecological Management Zones (EMZs): high-cost–high-benefit zone, high-cost–low-benefit zone, low-cost–low-benefit zone, and low-cost–high-benefit zone. (3) The driving factors of grassland degradation show significant differences in different EMZs. Based on these research findings, differentiated spatial planning and management strategies for grassland ecological restoration were developed for each EMZ. This study not only provides a scientific methodology for grassland ecological restoration but also offers important insights for the sustainable management of grassland resources in the QTP and other ecologically sensitive areas.

The Scientific Approach to Divine Parables on Creation (SADPC):

The primary goal of this research is to introduce instances of a scientific approach to divine parables on creation SADPC as insights into empirical research, entrepreneurial, and intellectual development. The research also examines the relationship between divine parables’ engagement and cognitive science enhancement for the selected case samples of university students in Uganda and Malaysia. The deductive and descriptive correlational analyses were used. On the one hand, the deductive approach used the selected Qur’anic parables as benchmarks for methods, procedures, analyses, and SADPC generalizations. On another hand, the descriptive correlational methods were used to analyze the perceived relationship between divine parables’ engagement and cognitive science enhancement using the two samples’ statistics in question. The deductive findings demonstrated the novelty, comprehensiveness, and relevance of the divine parables’ insights into human scientific cognition. The correlational analyses yielded the rejection of (H0) and installed a (Ha) that there is a significant relationship between divine parables’ engagement and cognitive science enhancement for the selected samples. This research introduced both the Islamic intellectual development model (IIDM) and the Islamic entrepreneurial planning model (IEPM) using SADPC. The SADPC significantly demonstrated an insight into empirical research, entrepreneurial, and intellectual development outlook for future Islamic science research.

Multi-objective optimal energy-efficient retrofit determination using hybrid urban building energy model: Considering uncertainties between models

AbstractTypical energy-efficient retrofit studies based on urban building energy models face challenges in quickly obtaining appropriate retrofit solutions and often ignore the unexpected outcomes caused by inherent model uncertainty. To solve it, this study proposes a decision support framework that integrates a hybrid urban building energy model (UBEM) method, NSGA-II, and TOPSIS to obtain rapidly the optimal energy-efficient retrofit solutions that take into account model uncertainty. The study took the building groups in Sipailou campus as a case study and identified 76 “stable solutions” and 149 “active solutions” that minimize energy consumption, carbon emission, and life-cycle cost (LCC) over 30 years from 40,353,607 retrofit schemes. Key findings include that when considering model uncertainty, the quantities, types, and ranks of optimal retrofit solutions have changed. When the error of baseline UBEM validation is within ±5% and considering uncertainty transmission from energy simulation to ANN model, the energy-saving potential of optimal retrofit schemes has expanded from [63.78, 65.05]% to [60, 68.75]%, carbon-saving potential has shifted from [63.69, 64.09]% to [59.92, 67.79]%, and the LCC has changed from [−40.68, 14.59] × 106 to [−38.25, 16.97] × 106 Yuan. This study provides decision makers with a scientific approach to consider the potential uncertainties and risks associated with optimal retrofit solutions.

Systematic Investigation of Electronic States and Bond Properties of LnO, LnO+, LnS, and LnS+ (Ln = La-Lu) by Spin-Orbit Multiconfiguration Perturbation Theory.

The electronic structures of lanthanide monoxides (LnO/LnO+) and monosulfides (LnS/LnS+) for all lanthanide series elements (Ln = La-Lu) have been systematically analyzed with sophisticated quantum chemical calculations. The ground electronic configuration has been determined to be Ln 4fn6s1 or 4fn+1 for the neutral molecules and Ln 4fn for the cations. The low-lying energy states resulting from spin-orbit coupling and ligand field effects have been resolved using spin-orbit multiconfiguration quasi-degenerate second-order perturbation theory calculations. The ionization energies of LnO (5.20-7.06 eV) are about 0.3-2.2 eV lower than those of LnS (5.54-9.22 eV) due to the difference in the Ln 6s and 4f orbital energies from which an electron is removed during the ionization process. The bond dissociation energies (BDEs) have been computed by the state-averaged general multiconfigurational perturbation theory and the completely renormalized coupled-cluster [CR-CC(2,3)] methods. The BDEs are highly dependent on the lanthanide elements as several factors of the lanthanides affect the bond dissociation. The calculated bond lengths and energies agree well with available experimental values and are systematically predicted for the series of lanthanide monoxides and monosulfides where experimental values are not available. Furthermore, the LS terms of low-lying energy states and their corresponding bond properties have been clarified in detail to systematize the similarities and differences of the lanthanide compounds.

The effect of cold water on the transitional speed and agility of basketball players

In recent years the researches focus on recovery strategies to boost the rebuild of physiological processes and improving performance in training and competition, and ice-bath is one of the modern scientific methods to fatigue phenomenon and refresh athletes in addition to active neuromuscular cells. The game of basketball features by rapid and intense movements such as jump, footwork, sprint and intense motion repetition with short recovery time periods. Therefore, players need speed, power and motion endurance such as (sprint, jump, changing direction and footwork) despite the ability of maintaining high level performance during the game. The study aims to identify the effect of ice-bath on speed and agility of basketball players. The research sample consists of Qala sport club players in Erbil province numbered (10) players divided into to equal groups of (5) participants (control group and experimental group). The statistical package of social sciences (SPSS) used for data analysis. The results show no significant differences in speed and agility tests, as speed require long resting periods to be fully recovered. The researchers recommend conducting further researches and studies on ice-bath in different sports to determine the its advantages for muscle recovery after trainings and games.

Wait a Minute? Uniting Physical Exercise and Data Science in Higher Learning

Purpose: This study explores the design and implementation of a novel Data Science course that integrates physical activity and physiological data collection. The course, scheduled twice weekly, combines a 30-minute physical exercise session with data collection activities focusing on metrics such as temperature, three separate heart rates, blood pressure, Functional Movement Screening (FMS), nutritional assessment using MyPlate.gov categories, urinalysis, and other metrics. The primary objective was to provide students with practical experience in data science by engaging them in real-time physiological data collection and analysis. Methods: This study involved a structured course format where students engaged in physical activities and recorded physiological data using standardized measurement tools and techniques. The course structure included instructional sessions on data science principles, data collection procedures, and statistical analysis. Students then applied their knowledge by undertaking a project that involved analyzing the collected data to address specific research questions or hypotheses related to physical health and performance. Each student presented their findings through a PowerPoint presentation, fostering peer review and collaborative learning. Results: Findings indicated that students successfully developed data science skills while gaining insights into the relationship between physical activity and physiological metrics. The projects revealed varied patterns and correlations, demonstrating the practical applicability of data science in health and fitness contexts. Discussion/Conclusions: The study highlights the effectiveness of integrating physical activity with data science education, enhancing both engagement and learning outcomes. The course equips students with technical skills while emphasizing the importance of holistic health data analysis.

Given the inevitable human components of range of knowledge, potential biases and sometimes lazy thinking, it is certainly not a perfect system. Certainly, a worthy paper occasionally is rejected, or a badly flawed paper is accepted. However, in the absence of a better process, it is the gold standard. Historically, peer review has been an altruistic endeavor. Effects of online heutagogy approach in learning science via Telegram towards pupils’ science process skills and creative thinking skills

The COVID-19 pandemic has necessitated the adoption of online learning methods worldwide, including in Malaysia. The Ministry of Education (MoE) in Malaysia has recognized the importance of online learning due to the implementation of Movement Control Order (MCO). However, the limitations of online learning, such as reduced interaction between teachers and pupils, have prompted educators to explore alternative approaches that emphasize self-directed learning. Hence, this study aimed to develop a learning method based on the heutagogy approach using the Telegram platform and examine its impact on science process skills and creative Thinking Skills in primary school pupils. The study employed a quantitative research design with a pre-experimental design and involved 20 Year 5 pupils. Pre-post tests were conducted to assess the skills, and the data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential analysis techniques. The descriptive analysis revealed a mean improvement in both Science process skills and Creative Thinking Skills following the intervention with the heutagogy approach. Furthermore, the inferential analysis confirmed a significant difference between pre- and post-test scores for both skills after integrating the heutagogy approach. The positive findings of this study shed light on the efficacy of the heutagogy approach in online learning, particularly in the context of science education for primary school pupils. These results offer valuable insights to educators who can consider incorporating the heutagogy approach into their teaching practices. By doing so, educators can enhance the learning experiences and outcomes of their pupils in science education.

How Italian radiation oncologists use ChatGPT: a survey by the young group of the Italian association of radiotherapy and clinical oncology (yAIRO).

To investigate the awareness and the spread of ChatGPT and its possible role in both scientific research and clinical practice among the young radiation oncologists (RO). An anonymous, online survey via Google Forms (including 24 questions) was distributed among young (< 40years old) ROs in Italy through the yAIRO network, from March 15, 2024, to 31, 2024. These ROs were officially registered with yAIRO in 2023. We particularly focused on the emerging use of ChatGPT and its future perspectives in clinical practice. A total of 76 young physicians answered the survey. Seventy-three participants declared to be familiar with ChatGPT, and 71.1% of the surveyed physicians have already used ChatGPT. Thirty-one (40.8%) participants strongly agreed that AI has the potential to change the medical landscape in the future. Additionally, 79.1% of respondents agreed that AI will be mainly successful in research processes such as literature review and drafting articles/protocols. The belief in ChatGPT's potential results in direct use in daily practice in 43.4% of the cases, with mainly a fair grade of satisfaction (43.2%). A large part of participants (69.7%) believes in the implementation of ChatGPT into clinical practice, even though 53.9% fear an overall negative impact. The results of the present survey clearly highlight the attitude of young Italian ROs toward the implementation of ChatGPT into clinical and academic RO practice. ChatGPT is considered a valuable and effective tool that can ease current and future workflows.

New parameterized quantum gates design and efficient gradient solving based on variational quantum classification algorithm

Abstract Currently, variational quantum classification algorithms (VQCAs) generally rely on traditional optimization techniques such as Powell and SLSQP in the parameter optimization session. However, the performance of these methods shows limitations in practical applications. Although the parameter-shift rule can efficiently compute the parameter gradient with quantum circuits, it needs to run the quantum circuit twice repeatedly, which significantly reduces the computation efficiency. In order to overcome this challenge, this paper innovatively integrates the principle of unitary operation in quantum mechanics with the technical characteristics of superconducting quantum chips and elaborately designs some new parameterized quantum gates (PQGs). These PQGs strictly follow the rules of unitary operation, which ensures the stability and accuracy of quantum state evolution while realizing an efficient solution to the parameter gradient. Especially for the gradient calculation of a single qubit and single-angle PQGs, the new method can be completed with only a single quantum circuit run, which greatly improves the computation efficiency. Experimental validation on benchmark datasets such as breast cancer and iris shows that the method proposed in this paper exhibits excellent performance on quantum classification tasks. Compared with the parameter-shift rule, the computation efficiency of the new method is improved by 40%. And the classification accuracy, precision, and other key performance metrics are improved by an average of 5% in comparison with traditional optimization algorithms. This work not only enriches the methodology of quantum machine learning theoretically but also demonstrates its remarkable superiority in practical applications, which indicates that the method has great potential in scientific research and industrial applications.

FEATURES OF MANAGEMENT OF OPERATIONAL ACTIVITIES OF RESTAURANT ENTERPRISES

The article reveals the essence of managing the operational activities of a restaurant business enterprise. The functions of production management at the restaurant business enterprise were considered. The condition and evaluation of the operational efficiency of the restaurant enterprise was analyzed. The main indicators characterizing the production capacity of the operating system at the enterprises of the restaurant industry were established. Indicators that increase the efficiency of the use of production facilities and indicators that characterize the organizational and technical level of production are systematized. Production efficiency indicators were formed into general groups. On the basis of the research, it was found that different both foreign and domestic scientists form certain groups of indicators in their scientific research. It has been proven that operational management requires measurement indicators of such factors as: product quality; innovations; costs; speed of processes; flexibility. The main factors affecting the level of satisfaction of the needs of consumers of restaurant products are considered. The directions for improving the features and a comprehensive approach to the effectiveness of management of the operational activities of the restaurant business have been defined and substantiated. On the basis of this study, it was determined that it is appropriate to accept the profitability of the enterprise's operational activity as the largest generalizing indicator of the efficiency of the enterprise's operational activity. The essence of managing the operational activities of a restaurant is to ensure the effective functioning of all aspects of the business related to its daily activities. The main aspects of this management include: processes and operations; product and service quality; HR; financial management; risk and security management; strategic planning and business development. These aspects help to ensure efficient and stable operation of the restaurant, ensuring that customer needs are met, costs are optimized and business goals are achieved.

The Impact of Total Quality Management on Academic Accreditation (An Analytical Study of Some Employees at the University of Nahrain, College of Business Economics)

The research aimed to know the total quality management and its impact and relationship with academic accreditation in higher education institutions. The research community included the administrative staff and teaching staff at the College of Business Economics - University of Nahrain, and to determine the role of the research variables of total quality management and its dimensions (supporting senior management, continuous improvement, focusing on students, building work teams, training and empowering employees) and the second variable, academic accreditation, in the success and education of educational institutions and achieving scientific and educational goals in terms of job qualifications and their impact on the institution in addition to improving the solidity of these educational institutions. The research shed light on the academic accreditation system, which is considered one of the main and important systems in managing the activities and programs of higher education institutions. To achieve the research objectives, the descriptive analytical approach was used, as studies and research related to the research variables were used in the theoretical aspect. As for the practical aspect, the researcher used the questionnaire to analyze and describe the paragraphs of the questionnaire and the dimensions and variables of the research, and to shed light on the variation and distribution of these elements in the College of Business Economics. The researcher formulated a set of hypotheses that show the relationship of correlation and influence between the variables. The researcher distributed the questionnaire to the research sample of the teaching and administrative staff, whose number was (136). To analyze this questionnaire, the statistical program SPSS and AMOS, one of the SPSS add-ons, were used. This program was used to reach the results and confirm the validity of the hypotheses. In conclusion, a set of conclusions and recommendations were reached, the most important of which is that the teaching staff enjoys efficiency and excellence, which qualifies them to provide a distinguished scientific level. In addition, the college suffers from a shortage in periodic maintenance programs for equipment and means. As for the recommendations, we summarize them by providing material and moral support to faculty members to participate in scientific research and publish in prestigious journals. And encouraging cooperation between departments and various research centers to enhance interdisciplinary research.

The Rise of Scientific Research in Corporate America

It is widely believed that university and corporate research are complementary: companies invest in research in part to develop the capacity to absorb the knowledge emerging from universities. However, as we show in this paper, corporate research in the United States emerged when American universities were behind the world frontier in scientific research. Why, then, did for-profit businesses choose to invest in creating new knowledge, much of which could spill over to rivals, and whose conduct presented many managerial challenges? We argue that corporate research in America arose in the 1920s to compensate for weak university research, not to complement it. Using newly assembled firm-level data from the 1920s and 1930s, we find that companies invested in research because inventions increasingly relied on science but American universities were unable to meet their needs. Large firms close to the technological frontier and operating in concentrated industries were likely to invest in research, especially in scientific disciplines where American universities lagged behind the scientific frontier. Corporate science seems to have paid off, resulting in novel patents and high market valuations for firms engaged in research. Funding: A. Arora, S. Belenzon, and J. DESIGN OF A SCHOOL BUTTERFLY GARDEN AS AN EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING STRATEGY TO STRENGTHEN STUDENTS' SCIENTIFIC AND ENVIRONMENTAL COMPETENCIES

Objective: This study aims to diagnose the level of students' scientific and environmental competencies to design an educational proposal based on the development of a school butterfly garden as an experiential learning strategy. The research is grounded in the active methodology of experiential learning, aligned with constructivist theories that assert knowledge is built through active interaction with the environment. Methodology: The adopted methodology follows a quantitative approach, with explanatory scope, and a quasi-experimental design. Data collection was carried out through an initial diagnosis using a pre-test with items selected from the ICFES "Evaluar para Avanzar" (2021-2023) booklets in the areas of Natural Sciences and Environmental Education. Results: The results showed varied performance: in the "inquiry" competency, students achieved an average of 51.2% correct answers; in "phenomenon explanation," the average was 56.9%; and in "comprehensive use of scientific knowledge," 43.8%. These findings indicate that, while there is a foundational understanding of science, deficiencies remain in specific competencies necessary for developing solid scientific thinking. Conclusions: The conclusions highlight the need to implement educational strategies focused on indicators with lower performance, using active methodologies that promote practical, participatory, and contextualized learning. This study proposes the school butterfly garden as an innovative model for Natural Sciences education, fostering both the development of scientific competencies and students' environmental commitment.

An off-resonant quantum collision model: Realizing a qubit coupled with an effective negative temperature bath

Abstract Quantum collision model provides a promising tool for investigating system-bath dynamics. Most of the studies on quantum collision models work in the resonant regime. In quantum dynamics, the off-resonant interaction often brings in exciting effects. It is thereby attractive to investigate quantum collision models in the off-resonant regime. On the other hand, a bath with a negative absolute temperature is anticipated to be instrumental in developing thermal devices. The design of an effective bath with negative absolute temperature coupled to a qubit is significant for developing such thermal devices. We establish an effective negative-absolute-temperature bath coupled to a qubit with a quantum collision model in a far-off-resonant regime. We conduct a detailed and systematic investigation on the off-resonant collision model. There is an additional constraint on the collision duration resulting from the far-off resonant collision. The dynamics of the collision model in the far-off-resonant regime are different from the one beyond the far-off-resonant regime. Numerical simulations confirm the validity of the proposed approach.

Socioeconomic Diagnosis and Sustainable Development Perspective of La Chorrera Sector in Pedernales Canton, Manabi Province

Objective: This research aims to conduct a socioeconomic analysis of the inhabitants of La Chorrera to determine their quality of life and needs within the sector. Theoretical Framework: The text explores the concepts and theories underpinning sustainable development, an approach seeking to balance economic growth with environmental protection and social equity. It highlights the importance of government intervention to stimulate the economy during recessions and the need for long-term policies to ensure a sustainable future. Methodology: This was a descriptive and scientific field research. Socioeconomic development encompasses both social and economic aspects. When these two variables are combined, the sector has a strong tendency to achieve sustainable development. Results and Discussion: Results indicate a strong sense of belonging to the sector. However, income levels are highly variable, with many residents engaged in activities that do not guarantee a living wage. Some individuals are even unemployed.
