The working principles of the sewing machine technology and sewing forms defined during the past centuries have been able to maintain their relevance to the present day, and in general, no serious innovation has been made in the constructive parameters. In addition, in recent times, significant progress has been made in the technology of further improving the sewing machine. The introduction of new materials and the role of modern electronic systems in the emergence of these advances is undeniable. Currently, manufacturers are trying to apply new combinations of design elements, taking into account modern requirements, to increase the efficiency of sewing machines to be put into operation. The presented article includes a study of the malfunctions of sewing machines, including modern design combinations, due to the disruption of the interaction of working parts, wear of parts, and changes in the surface treatment of parts.
