This study aims to describe the types of errors and the factors that cause errors in the use of directional nouns “li” and “zhong” made by STBA-PIA students in the fourth semester of academic year 2018/2019. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, namely to describe the types of errors and the factors of errors. The instruments used in this research are elicitation techniques and interview techniques. The research subject was taken using snowball sampling techniques, which was as many as 25 subjects. The results of the research conducted by research on STBA-PIA students in fourth semester of academic year 2018/2019 are 10 omission errors, 6 addition errors, 14 misformations and 3 misordering. Meanwhile, the factors that cause errors are namely interlingual errors, which are 7 respondents and intralingual errors, which are 15 respondents. READINESS OF STUDENTS WHO USE LEARNING CONTRACTS ON ANTE NATAL CARE PRACTICE IN THIRD TRIMESTER

Midwives as one of the oldest professions in the world have a very important and strategic role in reducing Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) and Infant Mortality Rate (IMR). Midwives must have clinical competence (midwifery skills), one of which is pregnancy examination. Clinical competence is obtained from clinical learning. Good clinical learning is one that is planned, one of which is using a learning contract. The purpose of the study was to determine the readiness of students who use learning contracts to carry out pregnancy tests in the third trimester. The research design is descriptive. The research sample is all fourth semester students of the Midwifery Study Program who have practiced in the Practical Field in 2019. The number of samples is 80 people. The sampling method is total sampling. The instrument used is an open ended question. Data analysis is univariate. Frequency distribution. The results are 87% optimal physical readiness, maximum 7.2%, 1.4% less. Emotional readiness 65.2% optimal, 10.1% maximum. Knowledge readiness 87% optimal, 11.6% maximum. In conclusion, more than half of practicing contract users learn that they have optimal readiness. The best readiness is the readiness of knowledge

A Correlation Study among Reading Habit, Intrapersonal Intelligence and Reading Comprehension Ability

The purpose of this research was to know the correlation between: (1) reading habit (X1) and reading comprehension ability (Y); (2) intrapersonal intelligence (X2) and reading comprehension ability (Y); and reading habit (X1), intrapersonal intelligence (X2) and reading comprehension ability (Y). This research used quantitative method to collect the data with descriptive correlational design. The population of this research was the fourth semester students of the English Department of IAIN Kerinci which consisted of 44 students as the sample were collected through total sampling technique. In analyzing the data, the researcher used Pearson Product Moment and Multiple Linear Regression technique by using SPSS (Statistical Program for Social Science) 20.0 for windows. It showed that: (1) the coefficient correlation between students’ reading habit and their reading comprehension ability (X1+Y) was 0,867 with a significance value of 0,000 which smaller than 0,05. It indicates that there was very strong positive significant correlation between students’ reading habit and their reading comprehension ability; (2) the coefficient correlation between students’ intrapersonal intelligence and their reading comprehension ability (X2+Y) was 0,576 with a significance value of 0,000 which smaller than 0,05. It means that there was enough positive significant correlation between students’ intrapersonal intelligence and their reading comprehension ability; and (3) the value of significant correlation between students’ reading habit, intrapersonal intelligence and their reading comprehension ability (X1+X2+Y) was 0.000 which smaller than 0.05 (Sig < 0.05). Moreover, the value of simultant test was Fcalculate = 62,472 > Ftable = 2,83. It implies that H3 was accepted and H0 was rejected. In other word, there was significant correlation between students’ reading habit, intrapersonal intelligence and their reading comprehension.

PENGEMBANGAN LEMBAR KERJA PRAKTIKUM MAHASISWA BERBASIS RISET SOLID LIPID NANOPARTIKEL (SLN) TRIMIRISTIN HASIL ISOLASI BIJI PALA (Myristica fragrans)

This research aims to determine the feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness of LKPM based on solid lipid research of trimiristin nanoparticles resulting from nutmeg seed insulation as a guide sheet of organic chemical practicum II in lipid matter. This research uses 4-D methods, consisting of 4 stages, namely define, design, develop, and disseminate. However, in this study the researchers only performed until the third stage which is the development stage (develope). This research data is obtained from the results of material and media expert validation questionnaires, product practicality questionnaires as well as pretest and posttest results tested to fourth semester students who participated in organic chemistry course II.LKPM based on Research Solid Lipid Nanoparticle (SLN) Trimiristin resulting from Nutmeg Seed Isolation that has been developed obtained a value of 83.75% on media validation and obtained a value of 87.3% on material validation, which means it is in the category of highly feasible. While the practicality percentage result of 88.36 % on the small-scale test, which goes into the category strongly agrees, The average result that means students strongly agree that the products that have been developed are very practical to use. The average value of N-Gain Small Scale Test Score is 0.43, meaning it can be concluded that The Student Practicum Worksheet (LKPM) based on Solid Lipid Nanoparticle (SLN) trimiristin research resulting from Nutmeg Seed Isolation (Myristica fragrans) has moderate effectiveness value.

THE CORRELATION OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNERS’ E-LEARNING ANXIETY, E-LEARNING READINESS AND E-LEARNING ACHIEVEMENT

Abstract: the era of Covid19 pandemic is where the online learning appears as an alternative learning method. the spread of virus makes reguler education stopping the face to face learning. this study aimed to find out the relationship between anxiety, readiness, and achievement in online learning. Also, this research was conducted by using correlational study. The participants of this research were the 3rd semester of students 2018 (sixth-semester students), 2019 (fourth-semester students), and 2020 (second-semester students) generation. The data were gathered through secondary data and questionnaire. findings in this study directly explained in the analysis that readiness and achievement showed no significant association, anxiety and achievement showed no significant association and also the analysis of three variables between readiness, anxiety, and achievement showed no significant association.

Students' Responds of Learning Vocabularies by Watching Youtube of The Computer Science Students of Cokroaminoto Palopo University

This research focused on students’ respons of learning vocabulary by watching youtube. This research aimed to know the students’ respons of learning vocabulary by watching youtube. This research used a descriptive quantitative method. The subject of this research was the students of fourth semester of technical information. This study involved thirty two students as the research participants to respond to questionnaire. The data of students’ respons was obtained from the result of the questionnaire. From the data that obtained, the students have positive respons by watching youtube in learning English especially vocabulary. Most of the students agreed that they like youtube because it helped them learn English. Another positive effect was that the students’ vocabulary improved. Hence, the findings suggest that youtube can be used as the alternative teaching media to improve students’ learning English especially learning vocabulary.

Blended Learning for Developing Problem-solving Skill, Learning Motivation, and Student Engagement in Mathematical Physics II Course During the COVID-19 Pandemic

This study aimed to identify the effects of teaching Mathematical Physics II (FIS1221) through blended learning during the COVID-19 pandemic on problem-solving skills, learning motivation, and student engagement at Ganesha University. The study followed a pre-experimental approach. The research subjects consisted of 27 fourthsemester students. The pre- and post-test data on the problem-solving ability were collected through a problem-solving test, while the learning motivation data were gathered using a questionnaire. Data on learning engagement were collected only post-test using a questionnaire. Data analysis was done descriptively, and t-test was used for analysing the problem-solving ability and learning motivation. Additionally, data on learning engagement were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results showed (1) a significant difference between the average score of the pre- and post-test problem-solving abilities; (2) a significant difference between the average score of the pre- and post-test learning motivation; and (3) a difference in student engagement scores with standard scores specified (a passing grade). Therefore, blended learning is an effective approach for developing problem-solving skills, learning motivation, and student engagement.

Code Sepsis: Using an Escape Room as a Creative Teaching Strategy to Engage Nursing Students in Learning Diagnosis and Interventions in Sepsis Care Management

Objective: To engage students in a flipped classroom activity utilizing an escape room to teach the importance of systemic inflammatory response syndrome criteria recognition, sepsis diagnostics, the anticipation of medical doctor orders, and the implementation of nursing interventions for the care of a sepsis patient. To escape the room, students must work together to answer a series of questions to solve all of the puzzles and open the locks. Methods: A total of 32 fourth-semester students over three semesters participated in the sepsis escape room. Groups were randomly assigned as students came into the simulation room. Students were oriented to the room, given the objectives of the activity, and provided a patient scenario to start the escape room. During the activity, students completed a variety of math equations, puzzles, and advanced nursing skills to progress through the room. Students were timed while completing these activities; the goal, to escape the room in less than an hour. Results: Students were actively engaged and involved in the escape room learning activity. All groups completed the sepsis escape room under one hour. After the escape room, a debrief was conducted, and a survey was given to all the students. Survey results and discussion revealed that the escape room was a more meaningful and engaging learning activtity for new material versus traditional lecture. Conclusion: The escape room is a valuable learning activity to teach sepsis diagnosis and treatment for fourth-semester nursing students. The application of an escape room could be modified and used for any level of nursing student or any disease process.

MODEL PEMBELAJARAN STEAM MENGGUNAKAN GOOGLE CLASSROOM TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KRITIS MAHASISWA DI PROGRAM STUDI PENDIDIKAN BIOLOGI

Along with the development of 21st century technology, we are required to face the industrial revolution 4.0 in which the implementation of learning is expected to be more innovative, critical and creative. With progress in this level of education, superior and good quality human resources can be created in terms of religion, attitudes, and knowledge. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) learning model by using Google Classroom (GC) on students' critical thinking skills at the Biology Education Study Program in the Muhammadiyah University of Bengkulu. This study was pre-experimental research using a one-group pretest & post-test design. The population was fourth-semester students of the Biology Education Study Program at the Muhammadiyah University of Bengkulu especially for the Plant Physiology Course. This study only used one class with a similar sample which consisted of 29 students in the pretest and post-test groups. The data collection used the test to measure students' critical thinking skills involved use essay test. Data were analyzed using the t-test paired samples test (in pairs). Based on the result there was a significant influence from the application of the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) learning model by using Google Classroom (GC) on students’ critical thinking skills at the Biology Education Study Program in the Muhammadiyah University of Bengkulu

The Effect of Distance Learning on the Kanji Reading Ability of 4th Semester Students

Distance learning that works during the covid-19 pandemic changed the student's ability to receive or understand the learning content. Kanji is one of the difficult lecture materials for Japanese language students. A very large number of kanji letters and students' study habits are only made before a test becomes an obstacle in mastering kanji, so persistence, interest, and motivation are needed to learn kanji during distance learning. The preliminary study results show that students' motivation and interest decreased during distance learning. This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of distance learning on the ability to read kanji in fourth-semester students. The instrument used was a questionnaire distributed online with 47 students of Japanese Language Education class 2019 involved as respondents. The study results show that distance learning affects students' kanji reading skills by 22.4%. A student's ability to read kanji is influenced by external and internal factors, including a lack of support from friends and family during the study from home, lack of interest in learning kanji during distance learning, lack of time to practice and learn kanji every day, and students still tend to learn kanji only when there is an exam

Effectiveness Of Vaksin Assisted Blended Learning Model On Student Learning Outcomes In Geometry

The purpose of this study was to prove whether the blended learning model assisted by VAKSIN (Video Animasi untuk Sistem Pembelajaran Online/Video Animation for Online Learning Systems) is more effective than the online learning model on student learning outcomes in the fourth semester of the Mathematics Education Study Program. The posttest only control design was carried out in the Geometry course at IKIP PGRI Bojonegoro for the 2021/2022 academic year. This study used a saturated sampling technique where all members of the population are used as samples. Data collection techniques in this study used documentation and test techniques. Test the hypothesis used t-test. The results of data analysis obtained by testing the hypothesis in the experimental class and control obtained tcount= 3,18219098 dengan ttable = 1,99084707. Karena tcount > ttable hence H0 is rejected so it can be concluded that the learning outcomes of the fourth semester students of the Mathematics Education Study Program of IKIP PGRI Bojonegoro who were subjected to VAKSIN-assisted blended learning were more effective than those who were subjected to online learning.

Students’ understanding in the subject of statistical method at moodle through scientific approach

This study aims to investigate the understanding of mathematics department students in the subject of statistical method at moodle through scientific approach. The research design is qualitative research. The research subjects are fourth semester students of mathematics department at IKIP PGRI Bojonegoro who are chosen using purposive sampling. The data is analysed using data triangulation. The results of study reveal that from all five subjects; in the online learning using moodle; get so easy in understanding the learning materials. The learning becomes flexible; it can be carried out anywhere and anytime. Students are able to study by looking for learning references from other sources. Hovewer, there are several problems in the online learning such as lecturer’s explanation is not as clear as when learning in class, there are more assignments given, and several materials have not been mastered by students. In the online learning, students have to be more focus when it is directed from YouTube. When the students have not understood the learning material in online learning, they can ask it to the lecturer or their classmates. Therefore, five subjects can anwer the questions about homogeneity and balance tests. Their completion steps are precise and perfect.

FLIPPING THE CLASSROOM IN THE EFL READING FOR ACADEMIC PURPOSE COURSE DURING COVID-19: BARRIERS AND BOOSTERS

The Flipped Classroom model has been a debatable issue, especially due to its triumph in the new set during the current outbreak of Covid-19. This study attempts to assess the effectiveness and explore the barriers and boosters of an FC approach in the Reading for Academic Purpose course in a private university in NTT Province, Indonesia. Employing a mixed-method design, this study generated data from the pre-and post-test and students TOWS (Threat-Opportunity-Weakness-Strength) analysis. Two groups of fourth-semester students, comprising 35 in a Blended Learning setting and another 23 in a Flipped Classroom, were taught similar reading skills and tasks. The paired-samples t-test indicates both FC (p=0.030.05, d=-0.70, medium effect size) and BL (p=0.000.05, d=-1.06, large effect size) settings were statistically significant by comparison. The independent-samples t-test used to contrast their effectiveness shows no statistically significant difference between groups (t[56]=1.11, p=0.27, d=0.29, small effect size). Although FC students benefited equally from the learning process in BL, they gained a lower mean score than their counterparts. TOWS analysis requires more improvement in FC due to students’ resilience to change, inability to self-learning management, poor collaboration and communication, technological setbacks, technical issues, and other socio-environmental constraints.

English Diphthong Pronunciation Problems Encountered by the Fourth Semester Students of English Language Education Program at Qomaruddin University

Pronunciation is the production of speech sounds for communication. Many Indonesian students found difficulties in pronouncing English words correctly. This study aims at investigating the students’ pronunciation of English diphthong of the fourth semester students of English Language Education Program at Qomaruddin University. A descriptive qualitative design is applied in this study. 31 respondents are the main source in collecting the data. To collect the data, two instruments used. They are test and interview. The respondents are asked to read a certain text and read some vocabulary while the writer is examining them once. As the result, the writer found 512 errors in reading text. The most source of errors was in pronouncing English diphthong /əʊ/ 207 errors or 40,43%. There were 221 errors in reading vocabularies. The most source of errors was in pronouncing English diphthong /eɪ/90 errors or 40,72%. This study also found the substitution, insertion and omission as the error types of pronunciation. In reading text was found 329 errors or 64,76% of substitution, and 160 errors or 31.50% of omission. Meanwhile, in reading vocabularies there were 111 errors or 51,39% of substitution and 104 errors or 48,15% of omission. However, the result of the interview had found difficulties in pronouncing English diphthong such as difficulties to memorize diphthong sounds and influenced of their mother tongue. Meanwhile, as the students, the most important thing is to know about knowledge and practice. It means that they have to know the phonetic transcription and practice more and more to have good pronunciation.

STUDENTS’ SELF-REGULATED LEARNING AT THE FOURTH SEMESTER FOR WRITING PERFORMANCE IN ENGLISH EDUCATION DEPARTMENT AT UIN ALAUDDIN MAKASSAR

This research addresses issue of self-regulated learning in students writing performance for the fourth semester of English Education Department at UIN Alauddin Makassar. The research objectives are to find out the students’ who have Self-Regulated Learning in doing Writing Assignment for the fourth semester students’ of English Education Department at UIN Alauddin Makassar, and addition to find out do Self-Regulated Learning influence students’ Writing Performance in English Education Department at UIN Alauddin Makassar. The method of this research used qualitative method. The subjects of this research were thirty two (32) students of English Education Department at UIN Alauddin Makassar academic year 2018 which taken by using purposive sampling. The data of this research is obtained from semi structured interview instrument with supporting data from questionnaire. The data analysis techniques in this research used three steps, i.e. reading/memoing, describing and classifying. The result shows that the experience Self-Regulated Learning can organize and control the learning schedule according to the priority scale and plan each learning activity where the student's metacognition will work when he obeys the plan he made. In self-regulated learning there is motivation in which students really need the role of motivation from both a person and the environment. With the existence of self-regulated learning and contributed learning environment can improve and structured learning outcomes behavior in order to get good achievement.

Mathematic Resilience Ability of Students in Linear Program Material with Blanded Learning in the Era of Pandemic

Mathematical resilience is a multidimensional construct in positive psychology focusing on mental health. The education system in Indonesia changed the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. This pandemic event provides an opportunity for academics to take further academic decisions in the future. Good mathematical resilience skills are needed to prepare students to carry out the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. The purpose of this study is to comprehensively examine mathematical resilience skills using a blended learning model during a pandemic. This type of research uses case study research and is descriptive. The research was conducted on fourth-semester students of the 2020-2021 academic year at a private university in Cirebon, West Java, with research subjects consisting of 37 students. The data was obtained from a mathematical resilience questionnaire in linear program lectures using a blended learning model. Collecting data using a questionnaire instrument was analyzed using the formula for the distribution of frequencies and percentages. The results showed that students' mathematical resilience skills using blended learning in the Linear Program courses during the Covid-19 pandemic were good; previous research on the Linear Program courses obtained good results of resilience abilities but in different samples. The existence of the Covid-19 pandemic does not have much effect on mathematical resilience abilities.

Enacting Hot Potatoes to engage and motivate the undergraduate learners in the Business Correspondence course

Technology has become the answer to students’ interests to be engaged in the learning process. In this case, the use of the Hot Potatoes application was employed to facilitate students’ needs in learning the Business Correspondence course. This study was a content analysis that employed the CALL approach as the assistance of students’ learning process (Egbert & Shahrokni, 2018). This study aimed to investigate the implementation of the Hot Potatoes application to assist students to learn the materials of three topics of Business Correspondence, namely Replying to a Job Applicant, Requesting a Service, and Confirming a Service (Lougheed, 2003). The results showed that the use of Hot Potatoes web-based learning brought beneficial impacts to students’ learning process of Business Correspondence course of the fourth-semester students. The researcher discovered that the implementation of this application engaged students’ attention and motivated them to be involved mindful for the learning activity. Moreover, Hot Potatoes exercises helped the students comprehend the elements of a letter and vocabulary and expressions used based on the context of the letter. The researcher suggests that future researchers can fill in the gap on how the Hot Potatoes application can be applied in various courses in English Language Departments.

HUBUNGAN KECERDASAN EMOSIONAL DAN PERILAKU SOSIAL DENGAN KETERAMPILAN KOLABORASI DALAM PEMBELAJARAN

This study aims to examine and find out empirical data regarding the relationship between emotional intelligence and social behavior with student collaboration skills in learning, either partially or simultaneously. This study uses a survey method with data collection tools using a questionnaire that is preceded by direct observation and interviews with data sources, namely undergraduate students of the Faculty of Engineering, Islamic University 45 Bekasi as the population. While the sampling in this study used a cluster sampling technique by taking the fourth semester students at the Faculty of Engineering, Islamic University 45 Bekasi, amounting to 70 students. The data analysis used is correlation and regression analysis which is described descriptively. The results of this study indicate that there is a positive and significant relationship between emotional intelligence and student collaboration skills in learning with a correlation coefficient of 0.917 and a coefficient of determination of 84.1%. Second, there is a positive and significant relationship between social behavior and student collaboration skills in learning with a correlation coefficient of 0.704 and a determination coefficient of 49.6%. Third, there is a positive and significant relationship between emotional intelligence and social behavior together with student collaboration skills in learning with a correlation coefficient of 0.919 and a coefficient of determination of 84.5%.

ANALYSIS ON EFL LEARNERS’ CAPABILITY IN MASTERING TOEFL TEST ON READING COMPREHENSION

This research aimed at knowing learners’ capability in mastering TOEFL test on reading comprehension part for EFL Learners. It was a descriptive quantitative research. It was conducted at the fourth semester students of EFL Learners as the sample of research. The class consisted of 3 classes and the sampling used of this research was cluster random sampling by lottery the class. The sample was class A consisted of 25 EFL Learners. In collecting the data, the instrument was given in the form of reading comprehension of TOEFL test and it was consisted of 50 items dealing with mastering main idea, mastering explicit implicit information, mastering reference, mastering meaning of word, and mastering inferences. After collecting the data, it was analyzed descriptive statistics by operating SPSS 26 for windows to know the mean score of students’ test. The mean score of the test was 32.3. It was categorized into very low. Therefore, the students of EFL Learners had very low capability in answering TOEFL reading comprehension section. Therefore, it is significantly for the students who have low ability in reading comprehension to mastering the strategies in answering the reading test.

Intregritas Pendidikan Kolaborasi Berbasis Al-Qur’an Dalam Hubungan Kecerdasan Emosional Dan Perilaku Sosial Pada Mahasiswa Fakultas Teknik Universitas Islam 45 Bekasi
