PENGARUH PERSEPSI SISWA TENTANG KARAKTERISTIK GURU MATEMATIKA TERHADAP PRESTASI BELAJAR MATEMATIKA

This research aims to: (1) determine the perceptions of class VIII students regarding the characteristics of mathematics teachers at SMPN 2 Kupang; (2) determine the mathematics learning achievement of class VIII students at SMPN 2 Kupang; and (3) determine the influence of class VIII students' perceptions regarding the characteristics of mathematics teachers on mathematics learning achievement at SMPN 2 Kupang.. This research uses a simple regression analysis approach. The population in this study were class VIII students of SMPN 2 Kupang. The sample in this study was 30 students obtained through the cluster random sampling method. The data collection techniques used were questionnaires and tests. Data analysis was carried out descriptively and inferentially using SPSS 23. Descriptive research results showed that some students had a good perception of the characteristics of mathematics teachers with a good percentage 66.67% and had good mathematics learning achievement with a good percentage 83.3%. Inferentially shows there a significant influence between students' perceptions of the characteristics of mathematics teachers on mathematics learning achievement as indicated by the value of tcount (2,714) < ttable (1,701) at the 5% significance level which means that H0 is rejected and there is a large influence of students' perceptions of the characteristics of mathematics teachers on achievement. studying mathematics is 20.8%.

Relationship between Diet Quality and Nutritional Status among Adolescents

Adolescence is a transition period from childhood to adulthood. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the limit for adolescents is between 10 - 19 years of age. Nutritional status in adolescents can influence growth and development and continue into adulthood. Low diet quality is one of the direct causes of nutritional status problems in adolescents. Data from the Jambi City Health Service in 2021 shows 280 cases of malnutrition at the junior high school and equivalent level in Jambi City. This research aims to determine the relationship between diet quality and nutritional status in adolescents at junior high schools of SMPN 9 Jambi City. The design used in this research was quantitative research with a cross-sectional approach. This research was carried out at SMPN 9 Jambi City in May 2023. The population and sample in this research were students of SMPN 9 Jambi City, totaling 88 people. The sampling technique was purposive random sampling. The data analysis used was univariate and bivariate. The highest frequency of diet quality was in the poor diet quality category, 52 respondents (59.1%). It can be concluded that a relationship exists between diet quality and nutritional status (p-value ≤ 0.05).

Motivation-Building to Continue Studies for Junior High School Students through Training and Campus Visit Facilitating a First-Hand Experience

This community service programme was conducted to raise awareness of the students of SMP Negeri 2 Purwosari Gunungkidul, the school partner, on the importance of pursuing higher education for their future. This programme was designed and conducted in response to the needs analysis suggesting that the students at the school had a low learning motivation and many of them did not have any plan to pursue education even to high school. The programme was conducted in the form of two consecutive motivation-building activities. The first was conducted in the form of a session with the school partner. The session aimed to provide a venue for the students to share their actual dreams and to make them realise that achieving those dreams was not an impossibility. The second activity was a campus visit where the students of SMPN 2 Purwosari visited Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana and joined fun learning sessions. It was aimed to give them a first-hand experience of the learning atmosphere at university so that they could be motivated to pursue their study even at the university level. They were also facilitated to realise the many scholarship opportunities available allowing them to study at university even if they came from financially struggling families. More such community service programmes should be conducted in other contexts bearing similar characteristics of students to allow for the younger generation to dream high and fight for it

Increasing knowledge and attitudes about dental caries and prevention after educational intervention using a modified lecture method in adolescents

ABSTRACT Introduction: The prevalence of caries in adolescents is still high, and the average visit to the dentist is when the disease is advanced. Educational interventions about dental caries and prevention need to be carried out to improve oral health status. Providing oral health education with appropriate methods will increase knowledge and encourage changes in attitudes and behaviors to prevent adolescent dental caries. This study aimed to analyze the differences in knowledge and attitudes before and after the intervention of education on dental caries and prevention among adolescents using a modified lecture method. Methods: The study design is Quasi-Experimental with one group pretest posttest research design. Sample selection used probability sampling techniques, with simple random sampling techniques. The population in this study was students of SMPN 1 Jatinangor, with the total sample of 186 respondents. Respondents were given educational intervention using a modified lecture method, namely giving a lecture, with the help of a powerpoint presentation with interesting pictures, providing a toothbrush demonstration and ending with a discussion group. Pretest and posttest assessment was using questionnaires. Pretest and posttest assessments used a questionnaire, which contained 20 knowledge questions and 15 attitude questions. Questionnaires and educational materials had been tested for validity and reliability, with Cronbach's alpha results for knowledge at 0,878 and attitude at 0,841. The data were analyzed with the Wilcoxon test. Results: There was a significant difference between knowledge before and after the intervention of education on dental caries and prevention with a p-value of 0.001 (<0.05), and there was an increase in knowledge score, there was an average increase in knowledge score of 52%. Likewise, there were differences in attitudes before and after the intervention, with a p-value of 0.001 (<0.05) and an increase in attitude scores of 7.95%. Conclusion: The modified lecture method using power points, videos, demonstrations, group discussions and roll play on brushing teeth, which are carried out on adolescents, can increase knowledge and attitudes towards dental caries and prevention KEYWORDS Intervention, education, knowledge and attitude, dental caries, prevention

The Effect of Project Based Learning (PjBL) Model on Science Process Skills and Student Cognitive Learning Outcomes

This study aims to describe and explain the differences in science process skills and cognitive learning outcomes between students who learn using Project Based Learning (PjBL) and conventional learning in science subjects. This type of research is a quasi-experiment with the matching pretest-posttest control group design. The population in this study is all grade VIII students of SMPN 1 Marga, Tabanan Regency for the 2022/2023 academic year. Research sampling based on class matching techniques. The research instruments are observation sheets of science process skills and cognitive learning outcomes tests. The data in this study is in the form of students' science process skill scores and cognitive learning outcomes scores which are analyzed based on descriptive analysis and the Multivariate Analysis of Covariance (MANCOVA) test. The results showed that: (1) simultaneously there are differences in science process skills and cognitive learning outcomes between students who learn using Project Based Learning (PjBL) and conventional learning in science subjects, (2) there are differences in science process skills between students who learn using Project Based Learning (PjBL) and conventional learning in science subjects, and (3) there are significant differences in cognitive learning outcomes between students who learn using Project Based Learning (PjBL) and conventional learning in science subjects. The group of students who learned using Project Based Learning (PjBL) showed that science process skills and cognitive learning outcomes in science subjects were superior to the group of students who learned with conventional learning.

THE INFLUENCE OF ENDURANCE, AGILITY AND EYE, HAND AND FEET COORDINATION ON LEARNING OUTCOMES OF RHYTHMIC MOVEMENTS IN PHYSICAL EDUCATION

Abstract the purpose of this study was to determine whether there is a direct influence between endurance (X1), agility (X2), and eye, hand and feet coordination (X3) on the learning outcomes of rhythmic motion (Y) in physical education. The research method used is a quantitative approach with test and non-test techniques, while the analysis technique uses a path analysis approach or path analysis. The rhythmic motion test instrument uses a test instrument that the researchers developed based on an instrument grid that refers to theoretical studies. To measure agility, the test that will be used is the shuttle run test. The coordination test uses the Hand and Foot Eye Coordination Test Instrument from Sridadi. The population in this study were all students of class VIII SMPN 1 Napabalano. Sampling was done by means of total sampling. The sample in this study was class VIII students of SMPN 1 Napabalano, totaling 116 students. Data analysis techniques were carried out through two stages of analysis, namely descriptive and inferential data analysis. Based on the results of data analysis and hypothesis testing from research data, the variables of endurance, agility, eye, hand and feet coordination have a significant effect on the learning outcomes of rhythmic motion for class VIII students of SMPN 1 Napabalano.

Developing Mobile-Assisted Language Learning (MALL) Materials for ESL Learners

The development of technology has brought significant impacts on education. This creates much potential for the teaching and learning of English as a second language. With the great capability of the internet, educators can design powerful materials for efficient and effective learning. Mobile-assisted Language Learning (MALL) has become one of the popular research areas on technology in education in recent years for its advantages of flexibility of time and place. However, much only focus on a single application or platform implementation for the learning. This proposed study intends to integrate multiple internet-based platforms to support ESL learning. It aims to develop attractive and interactive learning materials that utilize Mobile-assisted Language Learning. This research uses the ADDIE method in developing the materials. To evaluate the materials, Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) will be adopted to investigate the participants’ perceptions of their experience of using the MALL materials. The participants of the study will be 7th-grade students of SMPN 4 Satap Sejangkung. These materials are planned to be a product that can make use of the advantages of mobile devices, in this case, flexibility and usability.

Pengaruh Permainan Tradisional Terhadap Peningkatan Kebugaran Jasmani Pada Siswa SMPN 3 Bondowoso

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of traditional games on increasing physical fitness in students of SMPN 3 Bondowoso. The population in this study were students of SMPN 3 Bondowoso, totaling 38 students. The researcher planned to take a sample of 20 students of SMPN 3 Bondowoso. To determine from population to sample using random sampling technique (random / lottery). This type of research is quantitative research using quasi-experimental design. While the design or design in this study used the Non-Randomize Control Group Pretest-Posttest. The results of the analysis found that the value of sig. (2-tailed) in the experimental group is 0.009, in the control group is 0.053, so the value of sig. (2-tailed) in the experimental group > 0.05, it can be stated that traditional games have an effect on increasing physical fitness in students of SMPN 3 Bondowoso. So that the research entitled the effect of traditional games on increasing physical fitness in SMPN 3 Bondowoso students can be used as PJOK teachers to serve as a reference or guide in providing training programs or materials in particular to improve physical fitness because traditional games have been proven to improve physical fitness in SMPN students 3 Bondowoso. THE EFFECTIVENESS OF COMMUNITY LANGUAGE LEARNING METHOD TOWARD STUDENTS SPEAKING ABILITY AN EXPERIMENTAL RESEARCH FOR EIGHT GRADE OF SMPN 3 BANJARBARU

English speaking ability an experimental is one of the language skill which become the main purpose for the English language learner at the school. The purpose of CLLM is to help the students to communicate in their daily life, but the achievement of the CLLM is felt difficult practically, because in fact, many students are still passive in the classroom. When the students communicate in the target language, students might encounter a situation in which they cannot find words to convey meaning. When the flow of communication in this situation of communication breakdown, they used Community Language Learning Method (CLLM) method to prevent the stagnation in conveying that messages and make the students find it enjoyable to learn. Therefore, this study concerns with students’ ability in learning English by using CLLM. This study is attempt to discover students’ speaking ability for the eight year students’ of SMPN 3 Banjarbaru in the school year 2023/2024. Two research questions formulated: (1) to what extent is the achievement of the speaking ability for the eight year students of SMPN 3 Banjarbaru in the school year 2023/2024? (2) to what extent is the effect of CLL toward students’ speaking ability for the eight year students of SMPN 3 Banjarbaru in the school year 2023/2024? This study was experimental research. So there were two groups of sample, they were experimental and control groups. The population of this study was 160 students. The researcher took 40 students as the sample. As the research instruments which was developed to collect data, the researcher provided some pictures, the students were asked to describe the pictures. While the students were describing the pictures, the researcher recorded it. After collecting and calculating the data, the researcher found that the mean score of pre-test and post-test for experiment group were 46.45 and 51.85, while for control group were 41.2 and 45.3. And in testing the hypothesis, the researcher used t-test formula. The researcher found that t-test was 2.280 and t-table in significant rank 0.05 (5%) was 2.021. It proved that t-test was higher than t-table (2.280 > 2.021). So the alternative hypothesis was accepted. It indicates that Community Language Learning Method (CLLM) was effective in speaking teaching for the eight year students of SMPN 3 Banjarbaru in the school year 2023/2024.

Kemampuan Menelaah Unsur Dan Kaidah Kebahasaan Teks Drama Menggunakan Model Make A Match Siswa Kelas VIII SMPN 1 Hamparan Perak

This research is motivated by the ability to examine the elements and language rules of students' drama texts is still low, students' lack of interest in studying drama texts, the use of learning models that are less attractive and monotonous, the learning process that takes place still uses a teacher-centered model and low student scores, average The average obtained by students is 65. The purpose of this research is as follows. 1) To analyze the elements and language rules of drama texts for class VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Hamparan Perak before using the Make a Match learning model. 2) To analyze the ability to examine the elements and language rules of drama text for class VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Hamparan Perak for the 2022/2023 Academic Year after using the Make a Match learning model. This type of research is experimental research with a quantitative approach. The design in the research used is the One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design, in this design there is a Pretest before being given treatment and a Posttest after being given treatment. The research results at the time of the pretest obtained an average of 63, and entered into the sufficient category. While the results of the posttest research obtained an average value of 79.8 and included in the good category. It can be concluded that class VIII students of SMPN 1 Hamparan Perak are able to examine the elements and language rules of drama texts using the Make a Match model.

Using Summarization Technique through Voki as the Teaching Media to Improve Students’ Reading Comprehension

Teaching reading comprehension is a challenge for most teachers in middle schools. It is due to students who are not used to read even in their first language, let alone the second language. Finding suitable techniques and strategies is seen as crucial to increase students' understanding of reading. As one of the web tools, VOKI has been proven to be effective in helping students to be more engaged in the reading comprehension process. Therefore, this study aims to use the summarization technique to improve students' reading narrative texts by using VOKI as the media. The finding from this study suggests that VOKI, as the teaching media, successfully improved students' reading comprehension in a narrative text and participation in the teaching-learning activity. The students enjoyed the process of reading narrative text with VOKI. It successfully made students more creative, improved the students' comprehension of the moral value in the narrative text of year-9 Students of SMPN 1 Sukadana in Academic Year 2020/2021.Keywords: Narrative text, Reading comprehension, Moral value, Teaching media, VOKI

Students' Interlanguage Process in Writing Daily Activities

The aim of this study was to provide analysis on the grammatical errors occurred to the Seventh grade students of SMPN 01 Embaloh Hulu and their interlanguage causes in the students’ writing. This research was conducted through the procedure of error analysis. Surface strategy taxonomy, as one of the error types of error analysis was used for further analysis in order to describe the students’ errors. The subjects of this research were the seventh grade students of SMPN 01 Embaloh Hulu in the academic year of 2020/2021. The collected samples were taken by sorting out the samples from the students’ writing tasks. The samples were analyzed by the criteria of errors called Omission, Addition, Misordering, and Misformation. The result showed that the students produced 92% of non-English-like sentences in their writing. The most frequent error type made by the students was omission type. The result revealed 48% errors appearing on the students’ writing. The indicated result discovered that the students’ interlanguage process covered both the central process of interlanguage called overgeneralization of TL rules and strategy in language learning.Keywords: Interlanguage, Interlanguage Process, Surface Strategy Taxonomy

EFEKTIVITAS TEHNIK ROUND ROBIN UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KECAKAPAN BERPIKIR KRITIS DALAM MENULIS PREFERENCE

Critical thinking skills are part of the 21st century skills that must be mastered by students. Whether writing skill is the main competency that should be mastered in learning English. One of the reasons for the lack of development of students' critical thinking skills in writing preference sentences is that their low enthusiasm for learning is caused by learning activities that are not give any other variation. This study aims to obtain findings related to the application of learning activities with the round robin technique, such as the increase in students' critical thinking skills in their writing preferences, by applying and observing how much effectiveness this type of learning has. This research is classified as quantitative research with the type of quasi-experimental research that conducts experiments through a pretest and posttest control group design with samples used by students of classes VII G and VII I at SMPN 21 Semarang. The research subjects were obtained using a random sampling technique, which was determined based on random choices. Essay tests are used as a tool to test critical thinking skills with preferred research material. The research results obtained based on the results of the significance test obtained an N-Gain percentage of 57.35%. This result is include to the quite effective category. In accordance with this results, it can be concluded that the use of round-robin type can improve critical thinking skills in writing preferences by class VII students of SMPN 21 Semarang effectively.

The Relationship between Self-Esteem and Academic Burnout in Students of SMPN 5 Jambi City

Based on the background of the problem, the phenomenon of academic burnout among students is a serious concern in Indonesia. Academic burnout is a condition experienced by individuals due to high academic demands resulting in fatigue, apathy towards academics, and a decrease in academic achievement. One of the causes of academic burnout is the individual's lack of confidence in his abilities. This research aims to show that there is a relationship between self-esteem and academic burnout of students at SMPN 5 Jambi City. This research is limited to academic burnout which has aspects of Exhaustion, Cynicism, and Reduced academic efficacy. Self-esteem which consists of competence and worthiness. The sample in this research was 285 students. This research uses research instruments in the form of an academic burnout scale and a self-esteem scale with the selection of answer options using a Likert scale. This research applies a quantitative approach in this type of research, namely correlation using product moments with the aim of finding out the relationship between academic burnout and self-esteem. The research results show that there is a significant relationship between academic burnout and negative self-esteem. Negative in this case, if the level of self-esteem is high then the level of academic burnout is low, and vice versa. The correlation analysis obtained was 0.573 which was included in the moderate or adequate relationship category. Analysis of the percentage of academic burnout was found to be 58% which is included in the medium category. Meanwhile, the self-esteem analysis obtained was 66.75% which was included in the high category. Thus it gets higher self-esteem , the lower the academic burnout of SMPN 5 Kota students.

The Contribution of EFL Students’ Vocabulary Mastery and Motivation to Writing Ability of Eighth-Grade Students at Smpn 5 Denpasar

The ability to compose written messages in words, sentences, texts, and coherent words that readers can understand is known as writing ability. The objectives of this research were first to investigate how much the contribution of vocabulary mastery to writing ability, the second was to investigate how much the contribution of motivation to writing ability, and the third was to investigate how much the contribution of vocabulary mastery and motivation simultaneously to writing ability. This study was designed in the form of correlational research design. The population of this study was the eighth-grade students at SMPN 5 Denpasar. In this study, 149 students served as samples. They were chosen using a proportionate random sampling technique. Test of Multiple choice was for vocabulary mastery, questionnaire was for motivation and test of writing assignment was for writing ability, those were utilized to gather the data for this study. With the use of SPSS 26.0, linear and multiple regression analyses were performed on the data. The findings showed that there was high and significant contribution of vocabulary mastery to writing ability. The contribution of vocabulary mastery to writing ability was 69%, and there was high and significant contribution of motivation to writing ability. The contribution of motivation to writing ability was 70.5%. Moreover, the contribution of vocabulary mastery and motivation simultaneously to writing ability was 79.9%. It indicates that there was high and significant contribution of vocabulary mastery and motivation simultaneously to writing ability of eighth grade students of SMPN 5 Denpasar.

Development of BeBa (News Learning) Learning Media in News Text Learning

Learning news texts is one of the compulsory learning that students need to master. There are various factors that can affect the success of learning news texts. One of them is the use of learning media. This research and development aims to (1) develop BeBa (Belajar Berita) learning media in the material identifying elements of news texts for grade VIII students of SMPN 2 Sumbergempol, (2) testing the feasibility of BeBa (Belajar Berita) learning media in the material identifying elements of news texts for grade VIII students of SMPN 2 Sumbergempol. The ADDIE model is used in research and development of Beba learning media. There are two types of data obtained in this study. Qualitative data is obtained from interviews and comments or suggestions for improvement from students and validators. Quantitative data was obtained from the results of needs analysis questionnaires, material validator assessments, media validators, teacher practitioners, and student responses. The results of material validation by material experts obtained a percentage of 93.33% with the category "very feasible", the results of validation by media experts obtained a percentage of 96.88% with the category "very feasible", and the results of teacher assessment Indonesian obtained a percentage of 100% with the category "very feasible". The trials in this study were conducted twice, namely small group trials with 10 students obtaining a percentage of 98.45% with the category "very feasible" and large group trials with 25 students obtaining a percentage of 95.7% with the category "very feasible". Based on these results, the BeBa (Belajar Berita) learning media that has been developed has been tested for feasibility and is ready to be implemented in learning Indonesian class VIII news text materials.

THE POWERING OF GUESSING GAME IN STUDENTS' WRITING DESCRIPTIVE TEXT: EFL CLASSROOM ACTIVITIE

Enhancing writing skills in descriptive text learning by using the guessing method in class VII SMPN 1 Sugio. The benefit of this research is the guessing game method can improve the writing ability of class VII students of SMPN 1 Sugio, this type of research is Class Action Research which is carried out in cycle stages including action planning, implementation of action, observation and evaluation, and reflection. The subject of this class action research is the seventh grade students of SMPN 1 Sugio. The object of this research is the ability to write with the guessing game method. The instruments used in this study were observation sheets and learning outcomes tests. The data from this study were analyzed descriptive qualitative. The results show that the learning activities of grade VII D SMPN 1 Sugio students who used the guessing method are more active and enthusiastic in learning. In the preliminary results, the average student score is 67.1, only one student managed to reach the KKM. In the first cycle of student learning activities with the criteria of failure, with the results achieved 68.1 of 26 students, students who reached the KKM, 6 students while the second cycle of student learning activities with very good criteria, with the results achieved 76.3 of 26 students. Students who managed to reach the KKM 23 students. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the learning outcomes of seventh grade students of SMPN 1 Sugio using the guessing method have increased.

Interferensi Bahasa Ibu Terhadap Penguasaan Bahasa Indonesia Menulis Cerita Rakyak

The aim of this research is to describe the form of mother tongue that often interferes with mastery of Indonesian, as well as to find out the factors that cause mother tongue interference with mastery of Indonesian in writing the Mamasa folklore by class IX students of SMPN 2 Sesenapadang Mamasa. The type of research used is qualitative research. The research method used is direct observation (observation). The analysis techniques used are data collection, data redaction, data presentation and conclusions and withdrawal/verification. The results of the research show that it is true that there is interference in Mamasa's mother tongue with the mastery of Indonesian in writing Mamasa folk tales by class IX students of SMPN 2 Sesenapadang Mamasa, due to the students/speakers' daily habit of using their mother tongue.

Implementation of RODE Learning Model: Improving Science Learning Outcomes of Junior High School

This study aimed to determine the improvement of science learning outcomes by applying the RODE learning model. The subjects in this study were 19 students in the eighth grade of SMPN 3 Karang Intan in the even semester of the 2022/2023 academic year. Three observers assessed the RODE model implemented by the science teacher in her class on hydrostatics pressure material in the first cycle and Archimedes' law material in the second cycle. The Four pretest-posttest questions calculated the students' science learning outcomes. The success criterion of this study was that ≥ 75% of the research subjects obtained a score of ≥70. The data analysis used mode scores on observation data and pretest-posttest results for each cycle. According to the data analysis results, Teachers can apply the RODE learning model very well, with the mode score increasing from 3 in the first cycle to 4 in the second. 100% of students' science learning outcomes increased, with a mode score of 5 becoming 70 in the first cycle and a mode score of 30 becoming 100 in the second. Thus, the RODE learning model enhanced the science learning outcomes of eighth-grade students of SMPN 3 Karang Intan.

Upaya Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Matematika Siswa melalui Model Pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) terhadap Siswa Kelas VII SMPN 3 Boronadu

The purpose of this study was to improve students' mathematics learning outcomes through Problem Based Learning (PBL)for students of VII SMPN 3 Boronadu. This research is classroom action research with several stages of research, namely planning (plan), action (act), observation (observe) and reflection (reflect). This research was conducted at in the acade SMP Kelas VII SMPN 3 Boronadu mic year 2021/2022. The research subjects were class VII students of SMPN 3 Boronadu, totaling 21 students. The instruments used were observation sheets on the implementation of learning, tests of student learning outcomes. The data analysis technique is to calculate the average value of observations by categorizing the level of student learning outcomes. The results showed that the Problem Based Learning (PBL) could improve the learning outcomes of class VII students of SMPN 3 Boronadu The research data obtained from cycle I and cycle II illustrate that there is an increase in student learning outcomes. This is evident from the first cycle the number of students who completed as many as 13 people increased in the second cycle to 16 people. The percentage of class completeness in the first cycle was 61.90%, an increase of 14.28% to 76.19% in the second cycle.
