DEVELOPMENT OF ENGLISH POP-UP BOOK MEDIA TO TEACH WRITING SKILL AT JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL

This study aims to ensure that the use of Pop-Up Book Media affects the writing abilities of junior high school students. This media focuses with Descriptive Text material to teach writing skill to class VII students. This research use ADDIE model. The sample for this research was class VIIA MTs Sunan Ampel Kediri, totaling 14 students. Data collection was carried out by observation, unstructured interviews with teacher and questionnaires. Data were analyzed using a manual percentage formula. These findings show that the validation percentage of media experts reached 98%, that means "very valid", then the percentage of material validation reached 96%, with means "very valid". The total percentage of student satisfaction questionnaires reached 83.9% which is classified as "Very Satisfied". In conclusion, the use of Pop-Up Book media in learning can increase students' motivation in learning English and increase the creativity of students' in making paragraphs this is immediately effective for developing students' writing skills and the Pop-Up Book learning media is ready to be used by teachers as a learning media.

Effectiveness of the flipped classroom method using clinical scenarios and Educational Technology versus Subject-Based Lectures in a gastrointestinal physiology course for medical students

BackgroundMedical education is evolving towards more practical, active, effective, and student-centered approaches that address the limitations of traditional lecture methods. Recently, the flipped classroom method has been considered to support these reforms. However, research on the use of flipped classroom methods in medical education, particularly related to clinical scenarios and educational technology, is still in its early stages. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the flipped classroom method using clinical scenarios and educational technology versus subject-based lectures in the course of gastrointestinal physiology for medical students.MethodsA total of 60 medical students participated in this study. The control group (n = 30) received traditional subject-based lectures and participated in question-and-answer sessions. The intervention group (n = 30) received non-attendance educational content and participated in small group discussions based on clinical scenarios. Course satisfaction was measured using an 18-item questionnaire, and learning outcomes were assessed with a 20-question multiple-choice test, corresponding to levels 1 and 2 of Kirkpatrick’s model. Data were analyzed using descriptive and analytical statistical tests with SPSS software version 24.ResultsThe findings indicated that the post-test scores in the intervention group were significantly higher compared to the control group. However, according to the student satisfaction questionnaire, satisfaction was significantly lower in the intervention group compared to the control group.ConclusionThis study demonstrated that the flipped classroom method, compared to traditional lectures, improved the learning and performance of medical students at Hamadan University of Medical Sciences in the course of gastrointestinal physiology.

Analysis of Student Satisfaction Questionnaire with 2D Autocad Learning Media in Learning Road and Bridge Construction

The aim is to determine students' satisfaction level in class XI using Autocad 2D learning media in road and bridge construction lessons. This study also shows that 2D AutoCAD-based learning can help students understand the material better and become more adept at drawing. Non-test evaluation data from student satisfaction questionnaires in class XI DPIB were analyzed. Students were asked to determine their perceptions, preferences, and level of satisfaction with the application. To make educational media based on the Autocad 2D application to concentrate on road and bridge construction lessons more efficient and practical. The Likert Scale Model is used for research and development. The Likert scale is a scale that can be used to measure the attitudes, opinions and perceptions of students or groups of students about the benefits and how effective the use of this media is. From the results, the conclusion that can be drawn is that the AutoCAD 2D application in learning Road and Bridge Construction drawings is considered positive and very good in helping students' learning, as evidenced by the results of the percentage of student responses with the results obtained being 85% to 90%, which means students feel delighted. Moreover, it makes learning two 2-dimensional Autocad-based drawings easier in Road and Bridge Construction lessons.

THE DEVELOPMENT OF CHINESE VOCABULARY LEARNING USING THE APPLICATION OF QUIZLET FOR GRADE 5 STUDENTS IN THAILAND

The study aimed to compare grade 5 Thai students' Chinese vocabulary learning before and after using the Quizlet application, as well as investigate their satisfaction. The study employed a cluster random sampling of 26 grade 5 students from three classes with mixed gender and learning abilities. We collected the quantitative data through four lesson plans, Chinese vocabulary learning tests (pre-test and post-test), and a student satisfaction questionnaire. We analyzed the data using a paired sample t-test for the first research objective and a second one based on the mean and standard deviation (SD). ). The research result showed that Chinese vocabulary learning improved significantly; the post-test scores (=34.08, SD = 6.90) were significantly higher than the pre-test scores (=22.12, SD = 7.7272). Additionally, the obtained-v- valuwas.0101, which was lesthan.0505 (p< .05), indicating a statistically significant improvement in Chinese vocabulary learning. Furthermore, the data gathered from the students' satisfaction questionnaires revealed that all items received the highest ratings from the participants, indicating their satisfaction with Quizlet's application. t. As a result, this study clearly demonstrated that using Quizlet could improve students' Chinese vocabulary learning and satisfaction.

The Effect of Inquiry-Based Learning on Pharmacist Students

One of the influential factors in shaping professional health workers is the learning process during education. The professional attitude of pharmacy students can be modified with innovative learning methods. Inquiry-Based Learning (IBL) emphasizes students' involvement in systematically, critically, and logically gathering information so that they can formulate their findings. This study aims to determine the effect of IBL on pharmacist professional study program education students taking Pharmacy Communication and Health Promotion courses. This study employed quasi-experimental research with a group Pretest-Posttest Design. The study subjects were 40 students of the Pharmacist Professional Education Study Program. The students got learning interventions with IBL method. IBL stages consist of IBL orientation, problem formulation, hypothesis formulation, data collection, hypothesis testing, conclusion formulation, and learning evaluation. Assessment instrumentation included pretests, posttests, reports, and student satisfaction questionnaires. Pretest and posttest data were statistically analyzed with SPSS. The implementation of IBL resulted in an increase in mean scores from 59.82 on the pretest to 92.83 on the posttest. There is a statistically significant difference between these results (Asymp. Sig 0.000). The proportion of student reports rated as excellent 70%, good 20%, and sufficient 5%. Student satisfaction with the learning method reached an average of 93.94%. Inquiry-based learning increases the knowledge of Pharmacist Professional Education Study Program students in the Pharmacy Communication and Health Promotion courses.

THE DEVELOPMENT OF LEARNING ACHIEVEMENT IN CHEMISTRY ON CHEMICAL REACTIONS USING AN EXPERIMENTAL METHOD FOR YEAR ONE HIGH SCHOOLSTUDENTS

This study investigated the efficacy of an experimental method for improving learning achievement and satisfaction in first-year high school chemistry. Thirty students from a high school in Yinchuan, China, were randomly assigned to participate in the research, which utilized a pre-test/post-test group design. The research used four lesson plans focusing on chemical reactions, specifically between the metal sodium and its compounds. These lessons were validated for effectiveness using the 80/80 criterion. Additionally, a chemistry achievement test and a student satisfaction questionnaire were employed, both demonstrating appropriate difficulty and discrimination indices and high reliability.
 The results demonstrate that the students learning achievement in chemistry significantly improved after using the experimental method. The mean score before studying was 14.90 (SD = 2.04), while the mean score after studying was 18.43 (SD = 2.06). This difference was statistically significant at the.05 level. Furthermore, the students expressed high satisfaction with the experimental learning approach. The overall satisfaction score was 4.64 (SD = 0.49), and specific aspects like interest and motivation and the perceived usefulness of the method received even higher ratings. This study suggests that utilizing experimental methods as part of the chemistry curriculum can effectively enhance learning achievement and positive student attitudes towards the subject, particularly in first-year high school students.

Religiosity and Learning Satisfaction among Students in the Islamic Religious Education Program

Learning satisfaction is an essential aspect of the educational process and has become a central topic in many studies. This study investigates the effect of religiosity on student learning satisfaction. The researcher utilized a quantitative research method with a survey design. The Krejcie & Morgan formula was employed to ascertain the sample size, yielding 103 respondents out of 150 students enrolled in the Islamic Religious Education program at IAIN Kerinci for the Academic Year 2023/2024. The simple random sampling technique was applied to select the participants. Data collection was carried out using two research scales, namely the religiosity among muslims scale and the student course satisfaction questionnaire. The data collected was then analyzed using descriptive statistics and simple linear regression. The finding revealed that students' learning satisfaction and religiosity were high. Furthermore, it was found that religiosity significantly affected student learning satisfaction. These findings indicate that strong and active religiosity positively relates to learning satisfaction.

Education in the discipline of physics has experienced significant changes along with developments in technology and internet access. One of these innovative approaches that is increasingly popular is modeling-based online learning models. This article aims to conduct a comprehensive literature review on modeling-based physics learning models implemented online. This approach emphasizes the use of modeling as one of the main tools to facilitate students' deeper understanding of physics concepts. In order to understand and evaluate its impact, this research adopts a structured approach by combining in-depth research and thorough analysis of this online learning model. The theory underlying this learning model involves the integration of information technology and modeling approaches in physics teaching. Supporting data and evidence were obtained through critical research on the implementation of this model in the context of online physics education. In addition, this research measures its effectiveness using data on students' understanding of physics concepts, student satisfaction questionnaires, and participatory observation. The results of this research indicate that the modeling-based online learning model is effective in increasing students' understanding of physics concepts. In-depth analysis also revealed that this approach provides a more interactive and engaging learning experience for students, which is reflected in high levels of satisfaction. This research confirms the great potential of modeling-based physics online learning models in addressing modern educational challenges. The practical and theoretical implications of these findings pave the way for further developments in online physics education and provide a basis for further research in this area. By integrating modeling in online physics learning, we can create a more dynamic and effective learning experience for students in the digital era.

Project-Based Learning Model Development Using Flipped Classroom for Drawing Learning in College

The learning process was initially carried out online during the pandemic then after the post-pandemic, learning activities began to be carried out face-to-face. This raises a new problem, because lecturers who teach are starting to be required to use various media in the learning process in the new normal era. But in reality, the lecturers still use old methods such as lectures or task-based learning. Therefore, the research objective is to develop a new model that can be used in the learning process in higher education. This type of research is development research using the ADDIE approach. The instrument used was a student learning motivation questionnaire and a student learning satisfaction questionnaire following the lesson. Another instrument used is a Likert model scale with three alternative answers. The operational procedure taken in this research and development goes through three stages, namely: (1) preliminary study, (2) preparation of conceptual models (3) validity test and (4) practicality test. The results of the validity test show that the model book and manual are in the very valid category from the aspects of design, language and content. Furthermore, the practicality test results show that model books and guidebooks for project-based learning models using flipped classrooms for drawing lectures in tertiary institutions are practically used by lecturers. The implications of this research can help lecturers in designing practical learning.

English as a medium of instruction for engineering e-portfolio

This paper tackles the importance of capacity-building and Industry 4.0. preparation in higher technical education where sustainable learning approaches start gaining a place. The primary study objective focuses on developing a combined curricular implementation of an applied didactic and career-promoting tool. A sequence of applied tasks related to the Mechanics of materials course and supported by English as Medium of Instruction (EMI) allowed to teach technical topics through the English Language. The transversal competences’ framework strengthened training activities and created a meaningful connection to a professional e-portfolio artefact design. Quality task and presentation deliveries, remarkable e-portfolio contributions and student satisfaction questionnaires motivate applying this methodology to specialisation courses in engineering training. The findings help establish new models for higher education institutions' teaching and learning.

Effect of Learning Management Using Project-Based Learning on Graphic Design Ability of Sophomore Students at Suzhou Institute of Art and Design, the People's Republic of China

Background and Aim: The twenty-first Century is the digital era, with the rapid development of science and technology. Schools and all levels of educational institutes, as places that educate theoretical knowledge to students and develop their practical ability revising the plan and supplementing the teaching materials include developing teaching and learning strategies to promote student abilities and 21st-century skills. The current situation in many art and design institutes are quality of learning and teaching especially strategies to improve the design ability of students according to the trend of graphic design at the global level. Graphic design ability is one of the major abilities of a student who studies in the field of fine and applied art previous educators researched and reported that Learning Management Using Project-Based Learning (PBL) combines curriculum with practice to improve students' initiative, stimulate students' flexible use of knowledge to solve practical problems, and can support the student to develop ability skill and competency. This research aim is composed of 1) to study students' Graphic Design Ability after Learning Management Using project-based learning (PBL) and 2) To assess Students' Satisfaction with Learning Management Using project-based learning (PBL). Materials and Methods: Instruments were (1) an Instrument for the experiment a Lesson plan: 5 lesson plans each lesson plan for 3 hours, 15 hours in total, (2) an Instrument for collecting data composed of: 1) Graphic design ability evaluation form 2) Student satisfaction questionnaire. Methods were (1) The samples were Learned toward learning management using project-based learning. (2) After the samples learned about learning management using project-based learning. The samples were evaluated for Graphic Design Ability by evaluation and student satisfaction through a satisfaction questionnaire. Results: Found that: (1) After learning management using project-based learning, students’ Graphic Design Ability was which was statistically higher than the determined criterion set 70%. (2) After learning management using project-based learning students’ satisfaction with Learning Management Using project-based learning was high level. Conclusion: After learning management using project-based learning, students’ Graphic Design Ability of student statistically higher than the determined criterion set of 70%. and students’ satisfaction with learning management using project-based learning was high level.

Polymer Science in Action: Transforming the Learning Experience for Undergraduates with Active Learning Strategies

Active learning is a powerful teaching and learning approach that enhances students' capacity to construct understanding and apply their knowledge in real-world contexts. However, in university science classes, lectures remain the predominant method employed by instructors, primarily due to time constraints and limited familiarity with active learning strategies. This study aimed to explore practical guidelines for implementing active learning in undergraduate polymer science classrooms, as well as the perspectives of instructors and students on this approach and student satisfaction with active learning. The research involved two instructors and 34 second-year students from the Faculty of Science at a university based in Bangkok, Thailand. Data were collected through classroom observation, a student satisfaction questionnaire, and instructor and student interviews. Data were analyzed quantitatively, using means and standard deviations, as well as qualitatively, using content analysis. The study identified four practical guidelines for implementing active learning in the undergraduate polymer science classroom, which are: using a variety of active learning strategies and techniques that match the nature of students; providing helpful learning media and technology; using higher-level questioning to promote thinking processes; and linking authentic assessment and constructive feedback with real-life situations. These four guidelines proved effective for both on-site and online forms of learning. Furthermore, the students expressed very high satisfaction levels (M = 4.64, SD = 0.49) and positive opinions regarding active learning.

Learning Styles and Student Engagement: Towards a Personalized Instruction Program

This study evaluated the relationship between learning styles and student engagement among undergraduate students at a university in Tianjin, in order to provide improvement plans. The researchers used modified or adjusted questionnaires on learning styles and student engagement. The first questionnaire used the Learning Style Scale. It is based on the experiential theory and learning model established by Kolb in 1984. Fusion, divergence, assimilation, and adaptive learning styles are all used as useful self-assessment tools, with the advantage that they can be completed in just 30-45 minutes. The second adjusted questionnaire is the Student Participation and Satisfaction Questionnaire (SESQ). Due to the recognition of the concept of student participation by many experts, some of them have developed a survey questionnaire to address this issue. In this study, only factors indicating student participation index, namely emotions, cognition, and behavior, were considered. The participants in this study are undergraduate students from Tianjin University. They are randomly selected from a population, regardless of age, gender, grade, and university affiliation, and come from engineering, business, humanities, law, and medicine. The proposed personalized teaching plan aims to address the different learning styles and participation levels of student groups. Based on these findings, the researchers concluded that when considering factors such as gender, grade, and university relationships, this study found no significant differences in students' self-evaluation of learning styles. However, significant differences have emerged in the context of different styles. Among the three areas of participation, cognitive participation is the most prominent among students, followed by behavioral participation. There is a moderate and statistically significant correlation between the learning styles (convergence, divergence, assimilation, and adaptation) of student respondents and their levels of cognitive, emotional, and behavioral participation. This research was motivated by changes in the learning situation in universities. During the Covid-19 pandemic, learning was applied with an online system. Towards the middle of 2022, learning has started using offline learning. Online and offline learning, of course, there are differences in atmosphere, such as student interaction with lecturers and fellow students and the need for facilities and infrastructure. This certainly has an impact on student learning satisfaction. This study aims to compare student learning satisfaction in the Entrepreneurship course which is carried out with online and offline learning systems. This research is classified as quantitative research. The population of this study is students of the Faculty of Dharma Duta class of 2021 and 2022. Sampling technique is a saturated sampling technique. The research instrument used is a student learning satisfaction questionnaire that has been tested for validity and reliability. The collected data were analyzed by independent sample T test. The results showed that there was a significant difference in learning satisfaction between students who took the Entrepreneurship course with the online learning model and offline learning. Offline learning provides higher learning satisfaction for students.

Analysis of Student Satisfaction with Science Advisory Services During the COVID-19 Pandemic

This study aims to determine the level of student satisfaction with the services of FKIP HKBP Nommensen University thesis advisors during the Covid pandemic period 2020-2022. To obtain data on the level of student satisfaction with lecturer guidance services, an instrument was designed in the form of a student satisfaction questionnaire with lecturer guidance services using satisfaction indicators that had been assessed for validity and reliability prior to use. This type of research is descriptive quantitative, the results of the study were analyzed using the SKM method based on a student satisfaction survey. The data analysis carried out showed that the level of student satisfaction during the Covid pandemic was included in the very good and good categories. The results also show that forecasting student perceptions of lecturer guidance services with the assumption that perceptions increase, a satisfaction value of 3.5629 will be obtained in the "very good" category, and if it is assumed that it is still decreasing, the satisfaction value obtained is 3.4375, still in the the "good" category which states that the level of satisfaction of FKIP UHN students with the thesis guidance services provided by supervisors during the pandemic was still very good.

A Study of Learning Achievement Using a Flipped-Classroom Model Combined with Online Cooperative Learning in Soil Mechanics Laboratory

The objectives of this research were (1) to assess the appropriateness, (2) to study the learning achievement, and (3) to study the satisfaction of learners of the flipped-classroom model combined with online cooperative learning in the Soil Mechanics Laboratory. The research sample are 56 students enrolled in Soil Mechanics Laboratory, semester 1/2021, Civil Engineering and Education Program; Department of Teacher Training in Civil Engineering; Faculty of Technical Education; King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok. There were five experts in content and another 10 in education. The tools used in the research were online lessons and a learning achievement test. Another tool included a student satisfaction questionnaire with a flipped-classroom model combined with online cooperative learning. The statistics used in the research were percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The results showed (1) the overall suitability of the flipped-classroom model combined with online cooperative learning was at a high level of 4.30/5.00, (2) the overall mean exercise/quiz scores (E1/E2) of learning achievement with a flipped-classroom model combined with online cooperative learning were 85.18/81.01 (100), and (3) the overall learner satisfaction with the flipped-classroom model combined with online cooperative learning was at the highest level of 4.56/5.00.

School-Based Opportunities for Adolescent Recovery (SOARing): The Acceptability and Feasibility of a DBT Skills Training Program for At-Risk Adolescents

ABSTRACT Adolescents from disadvantaged backgrounds are disproportionately at-risk for experiencing chronic stressors, which often decreases their ability to emotionally regulate and negatively impacts their psychological well-being. Effective prevention and early intervention programming that addresses emotion dysregulation is vital for improving mental health outcomes in these populations. School-based dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) offers a promising avenue for bolstering socioemotional health in at-risk students by emphasizing the development of four core skills: emotion regulation, mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, and distress tolerance. The purpose of this investigation is to describe the rationale for, and development of, a school-based DBT skills program for students attending a continuation high school in an underserved area, known as School-Based Opportunities for Adolescent Recovery (SOARing). Although it is not the first project to implement school-based DBT, SOARing is among the first to devise a 12-session, group intervention protocol through formative testing and evaluate its preliminary potential. Field note data from a pre-pilot trial were collected in order to determine the program’s feasibility and acceptability. Results from these field notes and student satisfaction questionnaires indicate that the intervention was positively received, with constructive feedback from the students successfully incorporated as modifications to the program. These findings have since informed the protocol refinement of a larger randomized proof-of-concept trial that will test the effectiveness of SOARing in improving psychological outcomes.

Developing Online Media For Knowledge On Educational Loan Fund Payments

This research is a quasi-experimental research. According to the research plan, pre-examination form, the samples were the borrowers that were Student Loans Fund of 30 persons, who were a 1st - 4th year students at Nakhon Pathom Rajabhat University. The research tools were 1) online media for knowledge on educational loan fund payments, 2) a test form to measure online media for knowledge on educational loan fund payments, 3) student satisfaction questionnaire towards online media for knowledge on educational loan fund payments. The results of the research found that 1) online media for knowledge on educational loan fund payments had an efficiency of 82.33/84.25 according to the specified criteria, 2) the comparison of knowledge before and after learning with the online media for knowledge on educational loan fund payments was statistically significant difference at the .05 level on average. After studying with the online media for knowledge on educational loan fund payments the students had average post-test score higher than of pre-test. In addition, the students' opinions on the online media for knowledge on educational loan fund payments, overall at the most agreeing level.

Teaching quality management of physical education specialty in China and Ukraine

<span lang="EN-US">The integration of quality management in physical education has changed the traditional approach to teaching. The information overload and an enormous amount of irrelevant data available to qualified specialists may lead to professional stress. Quality management offers educators tips on how to avoid information overload while still staying updated with the necessary information, knowledge and skills. The research aimed to examine the main characteristics of quality management in teaching. The sample consisted of 296 students: 73% - male subjects, 27% - females subjects. The average age is 19.37±0.31. The research analyzed the factors affecting the quality of education using the quality competency and student satisfaction questionnaire. The findings revealed that Chinese students were satisfied with the physical and environmental conditions (8.1±0.23 points) and it was 22% higher than the results of Ukrainian students. The education programs, technological opportunities and student scientific work have the greatest influence on the quality of education in China (8.38±0.32). The least influence has the adequacy of management and staff (7.21±0.27). Career support, tours and practices related to physical education have the greatest influence on the education quality in Ukraine (8.43±0.32). The parameters identified by the research can be integrated into the system of higher physical education to improve the quality and academic achievements.</span>

Interpretive analysis of online teaching labs constructed using moodle during the pandemic period

The Algerian Ministry of Higher Education announced the closure of universities and switched to distance teaching due to the strong and rapid spread of COVID-19. The pandemic that forced this change created many obstacles to pedagogy. In fact, many related issues had to be resolved and other alternative teaching strategies examined. This article defines a strategy that ensures the pedagogical continuity of laboratory practical work of computer graphics course in a COVID- 19 context. It also includes data analysis of student satisfaction questionnaire on the lab work strategy quality. As a result of this research, the success rates in the graphics design course reached 91,79% and students' grades ranged from 4.33/20 to 18.17/20. This result is consistent with the combined-type graphical representation of COLLES. Guidelines and best practices are provided for performing online learning labs, including the university's online learning platform as well as different teaching scenarios, tutoring and peer assessment techniques. Computer science instructors can use this innovative strategy to develop content-specific courses, establish recommended skills, and deploy technology to improve their teaching methods.
