The synthesis and use of three-dimensional structure activators based on N-acryloylcaprolactam in the anionic polymerization of caprolactam

A description is given of the synthesis of PA by the anionic polymerization of caprolactam in the presence of new macromolecular polyfunctional activators that promote a three-dimensional structure. PA of this type have a cross-linked structure (gel-fraction in cresol amounts to 100 wt%). The size of the inter-node fragment of the network has been determined as 9850-18500. The PA synthesized are distinguished by a high value of specific impact strength (12–34 kJ/m 2 in the Izod test) and are characterized by the existence of hyperelasticity in the temperature range 220–300°C.

An investigation of the specific impact strength and relative shear drag of porous iron of fine fraction powder

To investigate mechanical properties of compact materials in addition to the specific impact strength [1-3] it is necessary to study the dynamic strength and plasticity under dynamic loads in tests on impact test machines, which is necessary for calculation of their strength. However, in the case of materials produced by powder metallurgy methods the necessary attention has not been devoted to these properties.

Statistical analysis of the results of mechanical tests of standard samples of thermoreactive poly-bis-maleimideamines

Statistical analysis of the results of mechanical tests of samples of poly-bis-maleimideamines has established that the distribution of the values of the specific impact strength better agrees with a logarithmically normal law, while the distribution of the breaking stress values and the modulus of elasticity on static bending agrees with a normal distribution law. The minimum necessary sample sizes for a graranteed relative error of the results of the tests are determined. The correlation links between the strength characteristics of the polymers studied and the parameter characterizing their chemical structure are obtained.

Comparative performance of living and dead bony tissue under static and dynamic loading

The dependence of the mechanical properties of bony tissue on different conditions of storing the samples has been studied. As the performance characteristic under static loading we used the ultimate compressive strength of the bony tissue, and under dynamic loading we used the specific impact strength.
