Women’s Attitudes Predict Household Performance in Indonesia’s At-Risk Family Stunting-reduction Program (KRS): A Cross-sectional Survey in Yogyakarta
  • Mar 4, 2026
  • Asian Journal of Agricultural Extension, Economics & Sociology
  • Umi Mu`Af Winingsih + 2 more

Aims: To examine whether women’s attitudes, women’s motivation, and women’s role in household practices predict the KRS program performance score among At-Risk Families (Keluarga Berisiko Stunting; KRS) and to identify the most robust predictor in multivariable analysis. Study Design: Quantitative analytical cross-sectional survey. Place and Duration of Study: Special Region of Yogyakarta, Indonesia (Sleman District, Bantul District, and Yogyakarta City), during the study period. Methodology: The target population comprised KRS households (sampling frame: 68,219). Using proportional stratified random sampling by administrative area, 200 households were selected. Enumerators administered a structured questionnaire, and responses were consolidated into composite scores for the KRS program performance score (household involvement/adherence to KRS-aligned stunting-prevention activities) and three predictors: women’s attitude, women’s motivation, and women’s role (covering domestic responsibilities including maternal childcare and household management relevant to child nutrition and health). Multiple linear regression with SPSS Backward elimination was applied (F-to-remove probability ≥ 0.100). Assumption checks included residual normality and homoscedasticity using plots, and multicollinearity using tolerance and variance inflation factor (VIF). Results: The primary regression used complete cases (n = 191). In the final model, women’s attitude was the only significant predictor of the KRS program performance score (B = 2.522; standardized β = 0.560; p < 0.001), explaining 31.4% of the variance (R² = 0.314; F = 86.340; p < 0.001). Women’s motivation (p = 0.197) and women’s role (p = 0.421) were removed during backward selection. Multicollinearity was not indicated (VIF 1.675–1.937). Conclusion: In this sample of KRS households in Yogyakarta, women’s attitude was the most significant predictor of household program performance. Stunting-prevention strategies should prioritize attitude-strengthening components that translate endorsement into timely routine actions, while concurrently addressing enabling conditions beyond personal factors.

  • Thalita Aldila Pramitasari + 2 more

Background and Aims: Mangrove forests are very important in ensuring the ecological balance of the coastal areas, but the sustainability of these forests is being affected by abrasion, pollution, and natural regeneration to the point where it is becoming rare. This was research conducted to determine the present ecological state of the Baros mangrove ecosystem through analysis of the vegetation community structure in terms of ecological indices. Study Design: An observational ecological study focusing on vegetation community structure analysis. Place and Duration of Study: The research was conducted in June 2025 at the Mangrove Baros ecosystem in Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region. Methodology: Data on vegetation were obtained by use of the quadrat transect method on three observation stations which represented the tree, sapling and seedling strata. The species were identified, the number of each species counted, and structural measurements made. The Shannon-Wiener diversity, Simpson’s dominance, evenness, and species richness indices were used to assess community structure. Results: Mangrove diversity ranged from low to moderate across stations and strata. The community was strongly dominated by Rhizophora apiculata and Avicennia marina, resulting in uneven species distribution and low richness. Regeneration was limited, with seedlings recorded at only one station. These patterns indicate a simplified vegetation structure and reduced ecological resilience, likely associated with environmental pressures such as waste accumulation and coastal abrasion. Conclusion: The Baros mangrove ecosystem is experiencing ecological stress and constrained natural recovery. Management strategies should prioritize multi-species rehabilitation and ecosystem-based conservation to enhance biodiversity and long-term stability.

From workspace spirituality to performance: How digital skills and innovative work behavior shape teleworking outcomes
  • Feb 13, 2026
  • Intangible Capital
  • Suhada Suhada + 2 more

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to introduce workplace spirituality (WSS) as a new theoretical construct that redefines the classic concept of WSS in the context of remote and digitally mediated labor. Furthermore, this study suggests a contextualization of employee performance in teleworking called Teleworker Performance (TP). The research proposes and examine the direct impact of WSS on TP, the mediating role of Innovative Work Behavior (IWB), and the moderating role of Digital Skills (DS).Design/methodology/approach: This study is based on a survey of 245 remote workers from the Special Region of Yogyakarta in Indonesia. Purposive sampling was used to choose the sample, which included WhatsApp groups of remote workers as well as those working remotely at various workplaces in the Special Region. The data was analyzed using SEM-PLS version 4.Findings: These data demonstrated that WSS positively influenced IWB, DTP, DCP, and DAP, with IWB serving as a partial mediator. This shows that a spiritually grounded digital work environment benefits both telework and IWB. However, DS had minimal effect on the WSS-IWB link, and WSS in the digital workspace was mostly independent of DS.Research limitations/implications: This study was limited to remote workers in Yogyakarta and focused solely on that area. Future research should be conducted in other regions and explore longitudinal and cross-cultural designs.Practical implications: Practically, businesses must strike a balance between investing in workspace skills and encouraging spiritual participation in the workspace.Social Implications: This study underscores the importance of DTP, DCT, and DAP in the success of telework. In addition to infrastructure, companies must build spirituality and digital skills to improve the well-being and sustainability of teleworkers as an effective workforce strategyOriginality/value: This study highlights that effective telework depends on task, contextual, and adaptive digital performance.

Authentic Mathematics Assessment Using an Integrated Deep Learning and Adiwiyata Testlet Model for Elementary Schools and Madrasah Ibtidaiyah
  • Feb 7, 2026
  • Nazhruna: Jurnal Pendidikan Islam
  • Syukrul Hamdi + 5 more

This study aimed to develop an authentic mathematics assessment for elementary schools in the form of a testlet-based instrument integrated with deep learning principles and the Adiwiyata context within the framework of transformative Islamic education in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. Employing basic research with an embedded mixed-methods design, the development process adapted the Plomp model and the instrument development framework of Oreondo and Antonio. Data were collected through teacher needs surveys, expert validation, readability testing, and field trials involving 462 fifth-grade students from elementary schools and Islamic elementary schools. Quantitative analyses included Content Validity Index (CVI), Aiken’s V, Cronbach’s Alpha, Classical Test Theory (CTT), and Item Response Theory (IRT) using the 2-PL Graded Response Model. The results indicate that the developed instruments meet acceptable psychometric standards, with Aiken’s V values ranging from 0.75 to 1.00 and high internal consistency for both the testlet instrument (Cronbach’s Alpha = 0.845) and the environmental awareness questionnaire (Cronbach’s Alpha = 0.850). Item analysis shows adequate discrimination and a structured progression of difficulty, although one item exhibited low discrimination in the 2-PL GRM, highlighting the importance of IRT-based diagnostics for testlet refinement. Descriptive findings reveal that students demonstrate high levels of environmental awareness, particularly in the knowledge and attitude dimensions, while mathematical achievement remains low on non-routine items. Correlation analysis shows no significant relationship between environmental awareness and mathematical ability. Methodologically, this study contributes a validated and contextually grounded assessment framework that integrates expert judgment, reliability analysis, and complementary CTT–IRT procedures. Theoretically, the findings reconceptualize authentic assessment as a diagnostic bridge rather than a direct causal link between affective values and cognitive performance, demonstrating that environmental concern functions as a potential cognitive resource only when explicitly activated within mathematical tasks.

  • Jurnal Sains dan Teknologi (JSIT)
  • Juarisman + 3 more

Youth street violence known as klitih has become a persistent social problem in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, while access to structured and comprehensive official crime data remains limited. Online news portals frequently report klitih incidents and provide contextual information that can potentially support empirical crime analysis, yet such data are rarely utilized in systematic academic studies. This study aims to utilize online news articles as an alternative data source to identify patterns of youth criminality related to klitih in Yogyakarta, focusing on spatial distribution, temporal trends, and characteristics of actors and instruments involved. A quantitative descriptive approach was employed, using web scraping techniques to automatically collect relevant online news articles from a national news portal. The unit of analysis consisted of news articles reporting klitih incidents within the Yogyakarta region during a defined observation period. The collected data were pre-processed and analyzed using descriptive analytical techniques, including frequency analysis, categorical distribution, and temporal trend analysis. The results indicate that klitih incidents are predominantly concentrated in urban areas, occur mainly during nighttime and early morning hours, and involve youth actors using easily accessible instruments. These findings demonstrate that online news data can serve as a reliable alternative source for capturing empirical patterns of youth criminality and support data-driven approaches in criminological studies.

Landslide susceptibility mapping using tiered weighted method (Case Study: Imogiri Sub-District in Bantul Regency)
  • Feb 1, 2026
  • IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science
  • Kerenita Yosephin Simarmata + 1 more

Abstract Imogiri Sub-District is one of the areas in Bantul Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta, with a high incidence of landslides. According to data from the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Bantul, there were 223 landslide events recorded from 2019 to 2023, and such disasters occur almost every year. The region is characterized by hilly topography with mixed land uses, including settlements, dry fields, and gardens, which contribute to its landslide susceptibility. This study aims to map landslide-prone areas using the Tiered Weighted Method. The method involves assigning scores and weights to selected parameters such as rainfall, rock type, slope, land use, and soil type. Each parameter is classified based on Puslittanak (2004), where rainfall receives the highest weight of 30%, followed by rock type, slope, and land use at 20%, and soil type at 10%. The results of the weighted overlay were categorized into three landslide susceptibility classes: low, medium, and high. The mapping results show that high landslide susceptibility dominates the Imogiri Sub-District, covering an area of 4,687 hectares or 92.1% of the total area and affecting five villages: Selopamioro, Karang Tengah, Sriharjo, Girirejo, and Wukirsari. Moderate susceptibility accounts for 192 hectares (3.7%) within the village of Kebon Agung, while low susceptibility covers only 214 hectares (4.2%) across the villages of Karangtulung and Imogiri. These findings indicate that the majority of the region is highly susceptible to landslides. The outcome provides a clear picture of landslide susceptibility in the region, which can serve as a strong foundation for disaster mitigation planning and more effective land management.

Spatio-temporal assessment of vegetation and drought severity in Kulon Progo using remote sensing indices
  • Feb 1, 2026
  • IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science
  • Nursida Arif + 3 more

Abstract Drought is one of the most critical environmental issues threatening various regions, including Kulon Progo Regency in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Indonesia. This study aims to assess the spatial and temporal dynamics of drought severity and vegetation conditions between 2019 and 2024 using remote sensing indices, particularly the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) and Normalized Difference Drought Index (NDDI). Remote sensing data from Landsat 8 and 9, processed using the Google Earth Engine platform, were analyzed to map drought intensity during the dry seasons (May–October) of the selected years. The results indicate that severe drought remained the dominant category, slightly increasing from 90.24% in 2019 to 90.72% in 2024. However, the area classified as extreme drought decreased significantly by 1.81%, from 5.62% in 2019 to 3.81% in 2024. This reflects a spatial shift of extreme drought conditions into less intense categories, particularly in the southern coastal and central regions. These findings demonstrate the utility of NDDI as a drought monitoring tool and highlight priority areas for targeted water resource management and climate adaptation planning.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP ECOSYSTEM IN THE COASTAL AREA OF SPECIAL REGION OF YOGYAKARTA TOWARD AN INTERSYSTEMIC POLICY FOR EDUCATION AND MICRO, SMALL, MEDIUM ENTERPRISE
  • Jan 31, 2026
  • Journal of Governance and Development (JGD)
  • Danang Aryo Prakoso + 7 more

This research explores how education fosters youth entrepreneurship and bolsters the coastal region to support the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, including Gunungkidul Regency, Bantul Regency, and Kulonprogo Regency. It employs an explanatory sequential design with qualitative description, collecting data through focus group discussions and semi-structured interviews. The findings identify three interconnected barriers to effective vocational entrepreneurship: first, fragmented institutional collaboration among education, government, and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) actors; second, curriculum-market misalignment that restricts experiential and place-based learning; and third, insufficient continuity of incubation and post-program support, which impedes the transition from entrepreneurial intent to viable enterprise. While institutional support and perceived market opportunities are strong predictors of entrepreneurial intent among students. The study concludes that, if Super’s vocational development theory is adapted to reflect the entrepreneurial ecosystem, it suggests an integrated policy to align curriculum, incubation, finance, and multi-actor governance. Policy recommendations include place-based curriculum localization, institutionalization of MSME-school relationships, diversification of financing mechanisms, and the development of regional monitoring dashboards. This research provides guidance for policymakers and educators aiming to transform vocational schools from a job-seeking pathway to a job-creating pathway in coastal local economies.

  • Widyaningsih Widyaningsih + 3 more

The presence of nurses as human resources is a valuable asset for the sustainability of the hospital, which needs attention so they can work optimally. An initial survey at RS Bethesda Wonosari DIY found that very few nurses performed at a level categorized as competent according to the hospital's expectations. This research was conducted in December 2024, aiming to analyze the factors influencing nurse performance at RS Bethesda Wonosari DIY using a quantitative design and a cross-sectional approach. The respondents in this study are all 50 nurses. Primary data collection was conducted through the distribution of questionnaires that had been tested on 30 people at RS Panti Waluyo Solo. The univariate results show that the majority of respondents are female, have an Associate's degree in Nursing, are of productive age, and have less than 5 years of work experience. The lowest achievements obtained from the variables studied: work environment (73.5%), provision of new information (73%), performance bonuses for employees (46%), work for patient safety (79%), fully responsible nursing care (52.5%), completion of work according to targets (74.5%). Completion of work on time (76.5%) and communication with superiors (67.5%). The bivariate results show that the variables positively affecting nurse performance are workload (p: 0.002), work environment (p: 0.002), and career development (p: 0.005), each with a very weak influence, while the variable that does not have an effect is compensation (p: 0.173). The multivariate results indicate that workload, work environment, compensation, and career development collectively have a significant impact on nurse performance (p: 0.001), with the most influential factor being workload (β) 0.623 (p: 0.017). The recommendation from this study is that the workload of nurses needs to be balanced, fair, and evenly distributed to avoid fatigue, improve workspace layout, provide bonuses for outstanding nurses, increase responsibility in nursing care, and for management to allocate time for discussions with nurses regarding career development programs.

This study presents a quantitative comparative analysis of environmental performance before and after an architectural intervention on a vernacular dwelling in the Gunungkidul District, Yogyakarta Special Region, Indonesia. Conducted as a longitudinal field investigation, the research employed a baseline-endline methodology with data collection in June 2025 (pre-intervention) and October 2025 (post-intervention). Key metrics included surface temperatures of building components (ceiling, walls, floor) and comprehensive indoor air quality (IAQ) parameters, notably particulate matter (PM10 and PM2.5) concentrations, measured against national ambient air quality standards (NAB). The results demonstrate a pronounced dual outcome. The intervention achieved its primary objective of drastically improving IAQ, with PM10 and PM2.5 levels reduced by over 90%, transitioning from exceeding to far below the NAB thresholds. However, this significant improvement coincided with a critical trade-off. A severe reduction in indoor air velocity (78%) altered the thermal environment, leading to mixed results: while floor temperatures decreased consistently, other components showed varied responses, and the heat stress index (WBGTi) slightly increased despite a lower dry-bulb temperature. The study concludes that while passive architectural strategies can effectively protect against outdoor particulate pollution, they can inadvertently compromise natural cooling ventilation. These findings highlight the essential ventilation-filtration dilemma in tropical climates and underscore the necessity for integrated, balanced design approaches in sustainable housing retrofits to simultaneously ensure occupant health and thermal comfort.

This study aims to analyze the influence of Product Quality Perception and Electronic Word of Mouth on Purchase Decisions with Brand Image as a mediating variable in Nike shoe consumers in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. The sample in this study was 202 respondents who were selected using the purposive sampling technique, namely consumers who had bought and used Nike brand shoes. Data collection was carried out through the distribution of questionnaires online and offline using Likert scale measurements. The data was analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling method based on Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS). The results of the study show that Product Quality Perception has a positive and significant effect on Brand Image and Purchase Decisions. In addition, Electronic Word of Mouth also has a positive effect on Brand Image and Purchase Decisions. Brand Image has been proven to mediate the relationship between Product Quality Perception and Electronic Word of Mouth on Purchase Decisions. These findings indicate that the higher the perception of Electronic Word of Mouth quality and activity, the stronger the Nike brand image in the eyes of consumers, which ultimately drives increased purchasing decisions. The novelty of this research lies in the integration of Product Quality Perception and Electronic Word of Mouth in one empirical model with Brand Image as a mediating variable to explain consumer purchasing decisions which have been relatively limited in research.
