Potensi Baitul Maal Wat Tamwil (BMT) dalam Meningkatkan Pertumbuhan Ekonomi di Indonesia

The study was intended to explain the potential Baitul Maal wat Tamwil for bringing economic growth to Indonesia. This method of research is done by reading reference books, journals and other media related to BMT. The concept of Baitul Maal wat Tamwil is to develop productive businesses and invest in developing the quality of macro and small economic activities, in part, it encourages savings and financing its economic activities. BMT is made up of two main functions: Baitul Tamwil (property development home), and Baitul Maal (treasure). This study shows that BMT has the potential to increase economic growth in Indonesia. The Impact of Biogas Conversion Technology for Economic Development: A Case Study in Kilimanjaro Region

In Tanzania the overall performance of the country’s social and economic development requires the minimization of the existing energy challenges. Currently, about 80% of Tanzanians live in rural areas, and 90% percent of the populations have no access to grid electricity but rely on fuel wood and charcoal, causing annual deforestation rates of about 500,000 hectares. This problem can be minimised, especially where there is potential, like Kilimanjaro region. However, the level of development of biogas in the region is low and no reliable data to show this effect quantitatively. The author here, therefore, attempts to fill the gap. He realizes that up to 0.5 giga m3 of biogas could be produced daily, exceeding by far the 0.72 million m3 required for cooking in the region. It was further observed that the energy required for small economic activity in the region is about 3.0 MWh, about 0.1% of the total energy that can be generated from agrowaste materials. The application of biogas in Kilimanjaro region is therefore technically feasible, socially acceptable, and economically viable, so sensitisation should therefore be enhanced and research conducted.

A proposal for monitoring small enterprise promotion

This article describes a general framework for monitoring and evaluating small enterprise promotion efforts. Recognizing the reluctance of many projects to spend time and money on evaluation the proposal uses a simple Client Registration Form to collect a minimum amount of data on current income. The same form is then used at the end of the project. From these data the client's increase in income as a result of the project is determined, allowing for alternative sources of income foregone as well as the expansion of the local economy. A benefit-cost ratio is also determined which helps project staff get an idea of where their efforts are most effectively directed. This system of evaluation follows the emphasis of CARE's Small Economic Activity Development unit.
