The rapid development of digital technology has transformed the broadcasting industry, shifting traditional media distribution toward digital broadcasting platforms such as streaming services, online media channels, and mobile applications. In this evolving ecosystem, Artificial Intelligence has emerged as a key technological driver that enables media organizations to analyze audience behavior, optimize communication strategies, and deliver personalized content experiences. This study investigates the role of Artificial Intelligence in digital broadcasting communication strategies, with particular attention to its influence on audience engagement and media consumption behavior. This research employs a quantitative survey approach to examine audience perceptions of AI-based communication strategies within digital broadcasting platforms. Data were collected through an online questionnaire distributed to users who actively consume digital media services, including streaming platforms and online broadcasting channels. The analysis focuses on four main variables: AI communication strategy, content personalization, audience engagement, and media consumption behavior. Statistical analysis techniques, including descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and regression analysis, were applied to evaluate the relationships between these variables. The findings reveal that Artificial Intelligence plays a significant role in improving communication strategies in digital broadcasting environments. AI-based systems enhance content discovery, support personalized media experiences, and increase audience engagement through adaptive content recommendations. Furthermore, the results demonstrate that both AI communication strategies and content personalization significantly influence audience media consumption patterns. Personalized recommendations encourage users to interact more frequently with digital platforms and explore a wider range of media content. Overall, the study highlights the importance of integrating Artificial Intelligence into digital broadcasting strategies to strengthen audience engagement and optimize digital media experiences. These findings provide insights for media organizations seeking to develop more effective communication strategies in increasingly data-driven digital broadcasting ecosystems.

The European Media Freedom Act (EMFA) constitutes the first binding EU legal framework systematically dedicated to the protection of media freedom and media pluralism. It was adopted after a long period in which EU media regulation remained fragmented: audiovisual services were regulated mainly through the AVMSD, while major online intermediaries were addressed through the DSA/DMA framework. The EMFA shifts the focus from isolated sector rules to a common set of directly applicable standards that target the conditions in which media operate in the internal market. The paper first explains this regulatory background and the reasons why a single EU regulation became politically and legally plausible. It then offers a normative analysis of the EMFA’s main chapters, with attention to editorial independence, safeguards for journalists and sources, public service media standards, the new framework for regulatory cooperation, rules relevant for media market concentration, and the legal relationship between media service providers and VLOPs (very large online platforms). The analysis suggests that the EMFA introduces a new governance architecture and strengthens procedural guarantees at EU level, mainly through common standards and coordinated regulatory work. At the same time, many mechanisms still depend on national institutional arrangements and on the manner in which Member States apply and enforce the new rules. For that reason, the EMFA should be read as an important normative step, but not as a self-executing solution: its impact will largely be determined by implementation practice.

By integrating multi-source data, this study systematically analyzes the evolution of land use structure, spatiotemporal differentiation characteristics of Ecosystem Service Value (ESV), and core driving mechanisms in the Huaihe River Ecological Economic Belt (HREEB) in eastern China from 2000 to 2020, based on the ESV equivalent accounting model and XGBoost-SHAP coupled framework. The main results are as follows: (1) The land use structure is dominated by cropland, construction land, and forest land. Over the 20-year period, cropland was continuously converted out, primarily transforming into construction land and forest land, while other land types remained relatively stable. (2) Temporally, the total ESV showed a fluctuating downward trend, first increasing and then decreasing from 2000 to 2020. Spatially, the ESV exhibited a corridor effect of “decreasing from the river channel center to both banks”. High-value areas were concentrated in the eastern river–sea linkage zone and the central-western inland rising zone, while extremely low-value areas in 2020 were located in the northern Huaihai Economic Zone (with dense construction land), indicating an overall medium service level. (3) The evolution of ESV was driven by both natural and human factors: among natural factors, water coverage, elevation, and slope had positive effects, while high temperature had an inhibitory effect; among human–economic factors, population density showed an “increase first and then decrease” effect, and urban expansion significantly weakened ESV in the later period. The spatial differentiation presented a pattern of “natural background support in the upper reaches and socioeconomic intervention in the lower reaches”. This study provides a scientific basis for the optimization of territorial space and ecological protection and restoration in the Huaihe River Ecological Economic Belt, and also offers a replicable research paradigm for ecosystem service management in similar river basin-type regions.

This study evaluates the impact of Law No. 12,858/2013, known as the "royalties law", on the allocation of resources for healthcare in Brazilian municipalities that receive oil revenues. This law, which has not been empirically evaluated before, changes the way oil revenues are allocated and mandates that a portion be directed to healthcare and education to promote sustainable development and intergenerational equity. Using the difference-in-differences method combined with propensity score matching, we investigate whether there was an increase in expenditures on primary healthcare and whether this resulted in improvements in both primary care and more complex healthcare services. To achieve this goal, we use a large set of disaggregated health indicators, such as expenditures on primary care, child vaccination, infant mortality, hospital admissions, and inpatient mortality. The results indicate that the royalties law is associated with a positive impact on healthcare services in the benefiting municipalities. The increase in primary care investments in the treated municipalities is associated with the improvement of this sector, strengthening preventive actions and reducing the need for more complex services. More effective monitoring of pregnant women and expanded child vaccination contributed to lower infant mortality rates. In medium and high complexity healthcare services, there was a reduction in hospital admissions and inpatient mortality. This suggests that strengthening primary care can optimize the functioning of the entire healthcare system. Furthermore, it is important for policymakers in Brazil to reassess the minimum 15% of own revenue that municipalities must allocate to healthcare. The robustness of our conclusions is confirmed by a triple difference model, which indicates that the observed effects are not driven by pre-existing trends or other confounding factors. Additionally, our findings are not sensitive to tests for parallel trends, falsification in treatment assignment, or variables unrelated to primary care. This study contributes to understanding how natural resource revenues can be used to promote sustainable development and improve public health. It also offers valuable insights for policymakers in resource-rich countries, helping to design effective strategies to manage revenues and invest in human capital sustainably.

This article maps the journalistic podcast offer produced by Radioagência Nacional, which is affiliated at the Empresa Brasil de Comunicação (EBC). The aim is to identify the conditions under which these podcasts are produced and circulate. Unlike other countries, where public media services have played a decisive role in the consolidation of podcasting over the past two decades, in Brazil the EBC only began investing in on-demand audio in 2023. A survey of the Radioagência Nacional’s catalog identified only 12 podcasts launched between February 2023 and June 2025. Although the content is of high quality and addresses topics of public interest such as human rights, democracy, media history and sustainability, it suffers from a lack of investment and remains largely invisible on the radio news agency platform. Moreover, it is absent from the EBC Radios audio application. Departing from semi-structured interviews with two employees, the article concludes that podcasting at EBC is the result of coordinated efforts by journalists employed by the public sector rather than being part of a broader strategy to consolidate the presence of audio content produced by the company on digital platforms, which expand media consumption across different formats and temporalities.

During the digital transformation in the twenty-first century, the old supply chains are changing completely, therefore it is time for transitioning from Physical Logistics Supply Chain Management (PLSCM) to Digital Content Supply Chain management (DCSCM).In terms of the stuff and complexities of Malaysian Chinese media's efforts to get through the complex distribution landscapes in SE Asia.A lot more about diaspora populations found in places like Indonesia and Singapore and Thailand and Vietnam and then also looking how legacy media in Malaysia are working to remake its value chains as regional content hub.Unlike manufacturing supply chains which have tangible goods that can be stored and shipped, media supply chains deal with intangible cultural products where latency and cultural relevance and platform algorithm replaces holding inventory and transportation logistics.Using a hybrid method that combines Resource-Based View (RBV)with Network Theory to investigate the cross-border content distribution bottleneck friction points. It is found in this research that although linguistic proximity is beneficial, the technological infrastructure which is not integrated and the fragmented regulations create a large disruption on the flow of content in ASEAN.Also, this research has a brand new "Content Logistics Framework" which is like a big map that shows how news and fun stuff from Kuala Lumpur gets made and sent all around the big area called ASEAN.According to the results using blockchain on rights and aids.Forecast Improves the Supply Chain's Efficiency with 40%.This paper adds to what we know by redefining SCM rules for the intangible economy and giving a plan for media companies to go from local TV channels to big-time, worldwide digital transporters.

Media ownership concentration threatens media freedom and pluralism by enabling economic and political influence over editorial decisions and information flow. Regulatory differences among EU member states cause legal uncertainty, especially for cross-border media activities, hindering the internal media market. To tackle this, the European Media Freedom Act (EMFA) establishes a regulatory framework to strengthen media pluralism, editorial independence, and ownership transparency. This study uses qualitative methods, including literature review and document analysis, to assess how EMFA addresses ownership concentration and its impact on media pluralism in the EU, with focus on Turkey’s alignment with EU regulations. Findings reveal EMFA’s key innovations: mandatory transparency, protections against political interference, and fair state advertising allocation. The European Board for Media Services’ creation marks a key institutional advance. However, limitations exist, notably the advisory nature of some rules and lack of binding enforcement, which may reduce long-term effectiveness. These raise questions about EMFA’s ability to ensure consistent application

Recent advances integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Virtual Reality (VR) are accelerating the expansion of intelligent services in smart media environments. In fashion retail, there is a growing need to enhance VR stores and Visual Merchandising (VM) to compensate for the spatial experience that online shopping cannot fully provide. This study aims to design an AI-based VR store VM system from a smart media service perspective and to propose a system architecture for implementing intelligent VM. Based on a review of prior research, the study conceptualizes VM in VR environments and derives key design principles, and proposes a three-layer architecture consisting of a user data collection and processing layer, an AI agent–based VM decision-making layer, and a VR store VM service layer. The findings suggest that the proposed system can serve as a design framework for intelligent VM services grounded in user behavioral data, and provide a foundation for future empirical studies using KPI-based evaluation such as gaze, navigation paths, and purchase intention.

This article examines the comprehensive optimization of MLOps processes for high-load product recommendation systems, in which stringent latency SLAs and terabyte-scale embeddings coexist with rapid drift in user preferences and intense business pressure to maximize commercial KPIs. The relevance of the study stems from the fact that classical batch-oriented MLOps practices do not provide the required feature consistency, stable model quality, or predictability of revenue, conversion, and retention metrics under peak loads typical of e-commerce and media services. The study aims to develop a holistic engineering and product-oriented approach to the design of data, inference, and training architectures, encompassing a Feature Store with streaming aggregations, hierarchical parameter servers, algorithmic embedding compression, dynamic batching, and concurrent model execution, vector search over embeddings, as well as drift monitoring loops and continuous (online) training. The scientific contribution lies in integrating hardware-oriented optimizations and process-centric MLOps methodologies into a unified RecSys design standard that simultaneously improves throughput and reduces latency while maintaining recommendation quality and stabilizing key business metrics. The article is intended for data and MLOps engineers, recommendation system architects, and technical leaders of digital products and marketing teams.

The study is on Awareness and utilization of social media service for library information sourcing among Undergraduates in Adeyemi Federal University of Education, Ondo, Nigeria. This study adopted a descriptive survey design. The population comprised all undergraduate students registered at Adeyemi Federal University of Education (AFUED), Ondo. A sample of 100 undergraduate students was drawn using a stratified random sampling technique, stratified by department and level of study. Data were collected using the Awareness and Utilization of Social Media Library Information Sourcing and Delivery Questionnaire (AUSLISDQ), a researcher-designed instrument validated by library science experts. The instrument consisted of four sections aligned with the research questions and scored on a four-point Likert scale: Strongly Agree (SA) = 4, Agree (A) = 3, Disagree (D) = 2, Strongly Disagree (SD) = 1; and for frequency items: Daily = 4, Weekly = 3, Monthly = 2, Never = 1. A mean score of 2.50 and above was adopted as the decision rule for a positive/affirmed response. Descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation) were used to answer the research questions, while inferential statistics, independent samples t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient (PPMC), and Chi-square, were employed to test the four null hypotheses at the 0.05 level of significance. All data were analysed using SPSS version 26. Only five of the nineteen platforms assessed exceeded the 2.50 frequency threshold: WhatsApp recorded the highest mean by a considerable margin (x̄ = 3.33, SD = 0.88), confirming its dominance as the preferred social media tool for academic information sharing. Facebook ranked second (x̄ = 2.92, SD = 1.06), followed by Wiki (x̄ = 2.81, SD = 1.08), Instagram (x̄ = 2.54, SD = 1.06), and YouTube (x̄ = 2.58, SD = 1.01). All remaining platforms, including LinkedIn (x̄ = 2.40), Twitter/X (x̄ = 2.44), Zoom (x̄ = 1.96), Blogs (x̄ = 1.85), Skype (x̄ = 1.85), TeacherTube (x̄ = 1.68), The strong and consistent affirmation of social media use across all eight academic work categories, with research (x̄ = 3.17) and lecture preparation (x̄ = 3.14) as the leading academic drivers. The breadth of academic purposes for which social media is used suggests that students have organically integrated social media into their academic information ecosystems, a development that provides an opening for libraries to institutionalise and formalise this behaviour through structured social media information services.

To address the challenges of Internet of Things (IoT) device diversity and media service heterogeneity in human and machine-type communications, a predominant approach in sixth-generation (6G) networks and beyond is to serve diversified IoT devices by differentiated services. In this paper, a satellite-terrestrial IoT framework with multi-access edge computing (MEC) is investigated for two types of heterogeneous services, data-intensive and computation-intensive service. In our proposed framework, MEC and millimeter wave (mmWave) communication are jointly considered to optimize data- and computation-intensive services, guaranteeing the rate, delay and energy requirements of diversified IoT devices. From the viewpoint of heterogeneous services, we formulate a joint resource allocation problem, in which quality of experience (QoE) of diversified IoT devices are recognized as system utility. Specifically, service offloading, power allocation and computation resource allocation are jointly considered. Since the optimized problem is nonconvex, necessary problem reformulations are conducted to transfer the original problem to convex problems. Furthermore, an alternating iterative method based on deep reinforcement learning (DRL) and CVX technique is adopted to obtain the sub-optimal solution with low computation complexity. Finally, extensive simulations are conducted with different system parameter configurations to verify the effectiveness of our proposed scheme.

Objective. As social media progresses in the Philippines, access to entertainment and online content has become convenient for today’s digital users. Given that consumption often involves purchasing services, and online user behavior is influenced by freely available content, this study investigates how avid beauty pageant fans search for live online content. The study asks the question: how do Filipino beauty pageant fans consume online live streaming content amidst the evolving landscape of social media and digital access? Methods. This pilot study explored the previously unexamined information-seeking behaviors of individuals looking for free items when they engage with online beauty pageant content. Using a semi-structured online interview, responses were organized according to demographics and interview questions. Convenience sampling was used to gather initial data for this pilot study and improve the study design. Results. A diverse group of 14 participants took part in the online survey, with age ranging from 26 to 52 years old, belonging to different professions. 93% avid fans of beauty pageants can identify local and international pageants. Participants were able to search the information they need by searching for the official website or social media pages and by reading the comments section of social media pages for tips and links. Participants were willing to share free access with others. However, most of the participants were not willing to pay for this kind of entertainment. Since libraries have the unique ability to expand their media services and collections based on their specific missions and target audiences, libraries have to address the needs of their enthusiastic online entertainment seekers. As the data provided, 66.67% strongly agree that access to digital entertainment content should be part of the services offered by public libraries to engage users and that the same number of participants strongly agree that streaming media should be a constant service of public libraries. Conclusions. This study explored the previously unexamined information seeking behavior of individuals seeking free items when engaging with online beauty pageant content. As a call to action, libraries, as sources of media and content, may provide video streaming services to diverse users, provided they are aligned with their mission and objectives.

This article examines the growth and structural transformation of South Korea's network media economy from 2010 to 2022 as part of the Global Media and Internet Concentration Project. Using CR4 and Herfindahl–Hirschman Index measures, it analyzes revenue trends and market concentration across telecommunications, media services, and core internet sectors. Despite overall industry growth, concentration levels declined due to the rapid expansion of digital cultural industries. However, oligopolistic control persists in the telecoms sector, while global platforms and major domestic players are increasing their influence in online media services. As a result, Korea's media economy has become increasingly dualized, characterized by concentrated infrastructure sectors alongside diversified media services. The article highlights that rapid industrial expansion does not necessarily ensure the decentralization of market power, and it calls for critical perspectives on market concentration and industrial restructuring in the digital age.
