The article explains the specifications of the advanced scientific approaches to the challenge of preparing future social workers to pedagogical interaction. It defines the need of the general philosophical (analysis of the meaning of the category «social» and the notion of the social medium in relation to this study’s subject), general scientific (systemic, competency-based, contextual, action scientific approaches), and particularly scientific (research methodologies and techniques) levels of the research methodology applied to the subject of the study. A competency-based approach to the study is applied by finding the relations in the processes of the readiness and competence development for certain types of the social workers’ professional tasks, the contextual part is explained due to the need to explain the professional context of pedagogical interaction in a social worker’s everyday professional activity, and possibilities of planning the educational process as close as possible to the future practical needs dictated by the fieldwork in a social sphere. The systemic nature of the studied phenomenon is presented in connection with the concept of pedagogical system in the set of information, communication, subject and target components. It is concluded that the main subjects of studentsє readiness for pedagogical interaction are future social workers, teachers, and other stakeholders − due to their interaction (within a separate system) the process of accumulation of knowledge, skills and abilities of effective pedagogical interaction of future social workers. The main system objects within the research of the problem of pedagogical interaction are singled out − professional training of future social workers as a system; pedagogical interaction as a systemic process and phenomenon; professional disciplines as a system object of research.
