In response to the technical requirements for real-time quality control in the hot pressing process of intelligent plywood production, this study proposes a real-time process control framework driven by edge AI. This framework employs a three-layer edge intelligence architecture. This work shows a practical and efficient boundary node model application scheme for defect detection with multi-level lightweight strategies. In particular, this work builds a decision level data fusion approach for visual detection data and process parameters based on rules for defect-process parameter association mapping. Experimental results have shown that this designed scheme can efficiently detect defects in an edge computing environment. Additionally, with more multi-source fusion being considered in the site environment, the overall detection efficiency might be improved while maintaining a stable closed-loop control system. After that, quality enhancement for products and efficiency improvement for detection were realized. The results provide a feasible method for utilizing engineering processes for enhanced online quality detection for the plywood hot-pressing process based on practical experiences for intelligence upgrades in wood processing.

In this work, we explore a range of membranes based on ionic liquids (ILs) and poly(ionic liquid)s (poly(IL)s), with varying cation/anion combinations, for the electrochemical detection of 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene (TNT) using gold thin-film electrodes. The influence of the IL anion/cation structure, as well as the incorporation of a polycation, on the TNT reduction behaviour was systematically examined through cyclic voltammetry (CV) measurements. Among the studied systems, [C2mim][TFSI]:p[DADMA][TFSI] and [C4mim][TFSI]:p[DADMA][TFSI], where [C2mim]+=1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium, [C4mim]+=1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium, [TFSI]-=bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide and p[DADMA]+=poly(diallyldimethylammonium), demonstrated an optimal balance between excellent electrochemical performance and high mechanical integrity, maintaining quasi-reversible TNT reduction with distinct three-step cathodic features. Environmental studies under controlled oxygen (0-25vol %) and humidity (up to 95% RH) environments revealed that the TNT response in real conditions is dependent on the membrane composition. These results highlight how ion-pair selection and environmental conditions jointly govern the charge transport and electrochemical behaviour in IL/poly(IL) membranes, providing key design principles for electrolytes in next-generation portable explosive sensors. The analytical performance of the sensing platform was evaluated using [C2mim][TFSI]:p[DADMA][TFSI] and [C4mim][TFSI]:p[DADMA][TFSI] membranes employing an 'electrode surface-loaded with analyte' detection strategy in which defined masses of TNT were deposited onto the electrode via solvent evaporation prior to electrochemical measurement.

Epilepsy is a clinically significant neurological disorder requiring lifelong pharmacotherapy with antiepileptic drugs (AEDs). Precise quantification of these agents in pharmaceutical formulations and biological matrices is essential to ensure therapeutic efficacy and patient safety. Although high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) is the gold standard for AED determination, hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatography (HILIC) has emerged as a powerful alternative, especially for highly polar and hydrophilic AEDs. HILIC provides several advantages, including superior peak resolution, enhanced reproducibility, and reduced analysis time; yet, its application in AED analysis remains relatively underexplored. This review critically evaluates the literature regarding HILIC's application in this field, focusing on chromatographic parameters, detection strategies, and method validation. Emphasis is placed on analytical performance, specifically sensitivity, accuracy, precision, and speed. Collectively, the evidence underscores HILIC's potential as a robust and efficient platform for the routine monitoring and quality control of AEDs, highlighting an underutilized approach to enhancing AED determination. However, technical constraints, including prolonged column equilibration and the complexity of retention mechanisms, remain challenges for its widespread routine implementation.
