Clinical Efficacy, Healing Efficacy, and Safety Analysis of Skin Orbicularis Oculi Muscle Combined with Tissue Flap for Eyelid Trauma.

This study investigates the efficacy, healing efficiency, and safety of skin orbicularis oculi muscle combined with tissue flap repair for eyelid trauma patients. According to the different methods of surgical intervention, this study chooses 78 cases of eyelid injury patients. This study sets up the joint intervention group and the routine repair group, including the joint intervention group adopting the orbicularis oculi muscle skin of composite tissue flap to repair surgery. The routine repair group is treated by conventional repair skin flap transfer operation. Spearman correlation coefficient is used to analyze the correlation between postoperative healing of eyelid trauma patients and quality of life (SF-36) and self-image satisfaction (BIS) scale scores. The surgical intervention of skin orbicularis oculi muscle combined with tissue flap for patients with eyelid trauma has a better plastic repair effect in clinical practice. It can also effectively reduce the risk of postoperative complications, which is conducive to improve the postoperative quality of life and self-image satisfaction of patients.

Investigation of Teachers' Level of Life Satisfaction and Perceptions of Individual Innovation in the COVID-19 Pandemic Process

Background and Aim: This study seeks to examine whether there is a difference between the level of relationship between teachers' individual innovativeness perceptions and their life satisfaction and whether there is a difference in terms of some demographic variables during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: The research is a quantitative study and was carried out in relational screening model. The sample of the study consists of 335 teachers working in schools affiliated to the Kahramanmaras Central District National Education Directorates. The data of the research was analysed using the Jamovi 1.6.12 statistical software program. Results and Conclusion:: As a result of the research, it was seen that the majority of the teachers were in the questioning and pioneering groups based on the scores of the individual innovativeness scale,. Significant differences were found in the scores of the participants' individual innovativeness scale sub-dimensions in terms of gender, marital status, branch, and sports status. On the other hand, there were no significant differences in life satisfaction scale scores in terms of gender, marital status, and branch variables (p>0.05); It was found that there was a significant difference in terms of the variable of doing sports (p>0.05); In addition, no significant relationship was found between the sub-dimensions of resistance to change, opinion leadership, openness to experience, and risk-taking and life satisfaction. The Effect of Gender and Body Image Satisfaction on Sexual Function in Patients with Head and Neck Cancer Treated with Radiotherapy/Chemoradiotherapy

Aims: The study was was conducted to determine the changes in sexual functions and the effect of gender and body image satisfaction on sexual function in patients with head and neck cancer who received radiotherapy or chemoradiotherapy after starting treatment. Methods: Forty three patients who underwent radiotherapy, radiotherapy (RT) or chemoradiotherapy (CRT) due to the diagnosis of head and neck cancer between October 2019 and March 2020 were included in the descriptive and correlational study. Research data were collected using the Structured Information Form, Arizona Sexual Experiences Scale and Body Image Satisfaction Scale at two different times, before and 6 weeks after the start of treatment. Results: Most of the patients participating in the study were male (55.8%) and married (74.4%). In the study, 69.8% of the patients had disease stages 1 and 2, and 65.1% of the patients had cancer in the pharynx and larynx. It was determined that 72.1% of the patients did not have a sexual problem before the diagnosis, and 90.7% of them had sexual problems after the diagnosis. There was a significant difference between the mean Arizona Sexual Experiences Scale scores of the patients before and after 6 weeks of RT/CRT (p<0.01); gender and Body Image Satisfaction Scale score significantly affected Arizona Sexual Experiences Scale score (R2=0.656, p<0.01). Conclusion: The treatment process in patients diagnosed with head and neck cancer undergoing RT/CRT causes sexual problems and worsening in sexual functions. Gender and body image satisfaction affect sexual function by 66%.

The Relationship Between Parents' Perceptions of Family-Centered Care and Their Health Care Satisfaction

Aim: This study was conducted to determine the relationship between the perceptions of parents whose children are hospitalized about family-centered care provided in the hospital and their health care satisfaction and the factors affecting them. Methods: This descriptive study was conducted with parents (n=169) of children who were hospitalized in a university hospital in Turkey between May and July 2019. Data were collected with "Child and Family Information Form", "Family-Centered Care Scale" and "PedsQL Health Care Satisfaction Scale". Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, Mann Whitney U, and Spearman correlation tests. Results: The mean age of the children was 6.86±5.63, 51.5% were male, 56.2% were hospitalized before and 88.2% of parents received information about the care and treatment of their children. There was a positive correlation between the parents’ Family-Centered Care Scale and PedsQL Health Care Satisfaction Scale scores and between the age of the children and age of the mother and the PedsQL Health Care Satisfaction Scale scores, the number of children and Family-Centered Care Scale scores of parents. A statistically significant difference was found between the child's previous hospitalization and median scores of the Family-Centered Care Scale, and between whether parents receive information about the care and treatment of their children and the median scores of the PedsQL Health Care Satisfaction Scale. Conclusion: In this study, as the family-centered care that parents expect was met, their health care satisfaction increased. As the age of children and mothers increased, parents' health care satisfaction increased. Health care satisfaction of parents who received information about treatment and care was found higher. Social isolation but not deprivation involved in employment status after bariatric surgery.

An increase in employment rate was observed among individuals who underwent bariatric surgery. This study assessed the relationship between employment rate and weight loss, deprivation, and Bariatric Analysis and Reporting Outcome System (BAROS) scores after bariatric surgery in a deprived area. This retrospective study evaluated the employment rate at a mean period of 2.3±0.1 years after bariatric surgery among 133 individuals. The Evaluation of Deprivation and Inequalities in Health Examination Centers (EPICES score), satisfaction scale, and BAROS (self-esteem, physical activity, social life, work conditions, and sexual activity) questionnaires were used. The mean age of the participants was 45 (range: 19-67) years. Approximately 88% were women. The initial mean body mass index (BMI) was 42.7 kg/m2, and about 88% of the participants underwent sleeve gastrectomy. The mean decrease in BMI was 12 ± 0.5 kg/m2. The mean EPICES score (N<30), BAROS, and satisfaction scale (range: 1-5) scores were 31.9±18, 1.3±1.1, and 4.27±1.19, respectively. After surgery, 19 participants obtained a job. However, three were unemployed. Based on a multivariate analysis, employed and unemployed participants (77 vs 52) before surgery had a lower initial BMI and better BAROS and satisfaction scale scores. After surgery, there was no difference between participants who obtained a new job and those still did not have a job in terms of questionnaire responses. Obtaining a new job was not associated with BMI, sex, or age differences. However, there was a positive correlation between social life score and weight loss. Bariatric surgery increased an individual's chance of finding a job independently of deprivation status. Participants with a pre-operative job had a better perception of satisfaction and BAROS scores. Moreover, social isolation was correlated with unsuccessful weight loss.

The efficacy and safety of a fractional microneedle radiofrequency device for the treatment of axillary hyperhidrosis: clinical prospective pilot study.

We aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of a fractional microneedle radiofrequency device (FMRD) for the treatment of primary axillary hyperhidrosis (PAH). The FMRD adopted insulated microneedles, which could be located at a depth of up to 4.5mm and deliver a radiofrequency current in a fractional manner. Also, the device could automatically regulate the amount of the delivered energy. Sixteen Korean patients with PAH received two FMRD treatment sessions at a 3-week interval and were followed-up until week 15. The primary outcome was Patient Satisfaction Scale (PSS) score at each visit. Hyperhidrosis Disease Severity Scale (HDSS) and Global Aesthetic Improvement Scale (GAIS) were also assessed. The area and amount of sweat produced were evaluated by specific tests. Mean PSS score significantly improved from 1.6 at week 3 to 2.5 at week 15 by 56%. More than a 50% improvement in sweating assessed by the PSS score was seen in 63% and 50% of patients at weeks 11 and 15, respectively. Mean HDSS score significantly decreased by week 3 and further decreased by week 7. Mean GAIS scores improved from the first follow-up visit at week 3 and improved again at week 7. The mean hyperhidrosis area assessed by starch-iodine test significantly decreased by 36% at week 15 compared with baseline. Mean transepidermal water loss level significantly decreased by 42% at week 15 compared with baseline. No patients experienced any serious adverse events. FMRD can be an effective and safe treatment modality for PAH.

Psychosocial Effect of Newborn Genomic Sequencing on Families in the BabySeq Project

Newborn genomic sequencing (nGS) may provide health benefits throughout the life span, but there are concerns that it could also have an unfavorable (ie, negative) psychosocial effect on families. To assess the psychosocial effect of nGS on families from the BabySeq Project, a randomized clinical trial evaluating the effect of nGS on the clinical care of newborns from well-baby nurseries and intensive care units. In this randomized clinical trial conducted from May 14, 2015, to May 21, 2019, at well-baby nurseries and intensive care units at 3 Boston, Massachusetts, area hospitals, 519 parents of 325 infants completed surveys at enrollment, immediately after disclosure of nGS results, and 3 and 10 months after results disclosure. Statistical analysis was performed on a per-protocol basis from January 16, 2019, to December 1, 2019. Newborns were randomized to receive either standard newborn screening and a family history report (control group) or the same plus an nGS report of childhood-onset conditions and highly actionable adult-onset conditions (nGS group). Mean responses were compared between groups and, within the nGS group, between parents of children who received a monogenic disease risk finding and those who did not in 3 domains of psychosocial impact: parent-child relationship (Mother-to-Infant Bonding Scale), parents' relationship (Kansas Marital Satisfaction Scale), and parents' psychological distress (Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale anxiety subscale). A total of 519 parents (275 women [53.0%]; mean [SD] age, 35.1 [4.5] years) were included in this study. Although mean scores differed for some outcomes at singular time points, generalized estimating equations models did not show meaningful differences in parent-child relationship (between-group difference in adjusted mean [SE] Mother-to-Infant Bonding Scale scores: postdisclosure, 0.04 [0.15]; 3 months, -0.18 [0.18]; 10 months, -0.07 [0.20]; joint P = .57) or parents' psychological distress (between-group ratio of adjusted mean [SE] Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale anxiety subscale scores: postdisclosure, 1.04 [0.08]; 3 months, 1.07 [0.11]; joint P = .80) response patterns between study groups over time for any measures analyzed in these 2 domains. Response patterns on one parents' relationship measure differed between groups over time (between-group difference in adjusted mean [SE] Kansas Marital Satisfaction Scale scores: postdisclosure, -0.19 [0.07]; 3 months, -0.04 [0.07]; and 10 months, -0.01 [0.08]; joint P = .02), but the effect decreased over time and no difference was observed on the conflict measure responses over time. We found no evidence of persistent negative psychosocial effect in any domain. In this randomized clinical trial of nGS, there was no persistent negative psychosocial effect on families among those who received nGS nor among those who received a monogenic disease risk finding for their infant. A RESEARCH ON THE EFFECT OF WORK-FAMILY CONFLICT ON LIFE SATISFACTION AND JOB SATISFACTION

This research was carried out descriptively to determine the effect of work-family conflict on life satisfaction and job satisfaction. The sample of the study consists of 418 people. The data were collected using the snowball sampling method and Google survey; The Demographic Information Form was collected through the Minnesota Job Satisfaction Scale and the Life Satisfaction Scale. Independent Sample T-Test, ANOVA Test, and Correlation Test were used to evaluate the data. 67.9% of the participants are women, and 29.9% are between the ages of 2 and -31; 20% are veterinarians, and 40.4% are undergraduate degrees. Work-family conflict total score average is 49.63 ± 13.15, life satisfaction total score average is 15.19 ± 4.63, and job satisfaction average score is 3.45 ± 0.74. According to the correlation analysis results; A negative relationship was found between work-family conflict and life satisfaction and a negative relationship between work-family conflict and job satisfaction. There is also a positive relationship between job satisfaction and life satisfaction. In the comparisons, it was determined that the variables of age, education level, profession, monthly income, total working time in the current workplace, facilities of the institution, and daily average working hours affect the scale scores of work-family conflict. In addition, it was determined that the variables of having a child, taking work home, age, education status, profession, monthly income, total working time in the current workplace, facilities of the institution, and daily average working hours affect the job satisfaction scale scores. Life satisfaction scale scores are; Marital status, having children, taking work home, age, education status, profession, monthly income, total working time in the current workplace, facilities of the institution, and average daily working hours are affected. As a result, it was determined that demographic variables affect work-family conflict scores, life satisfaction, and job satisfaction scale.

Effectiveness of team-based learning on postpartum hemorrhage in midwifery students in Indonesia: A quasi-experimental study

BackgroundPoor quality of care by midwives in Indonesia has become a barrier to improving maternal health. To eliminate this barrier, reforming the educational system (i.e., teaching and learning processes) is an urgent concern. Herein, we propose the use of team-based learning (TBL) as an active learning strategy to enhance knowledge of postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) and learning satisfaction of midwifery students in Indonesia. ObjectivesTo assess and compare knowledge of PPH, long-term retention of knowledge, and learning satisfaction of midwifery students attending a TBL class versus a didactic lecture on PPH topics. MethodsA quasi-experimental design was used. The participants were second-year diploma level midwifery students who have (a) no TBL experience, (b) completed the previous semester, and (c) graduated from senior high school (without nursing background). We recruited 118 participants. The midwifery students in the intervention group participated 3 times in the TBL class (90 min), whereas those in the control group participated in the didactic lecture on PPH topics. An unpaired t-test was used to evaluate differences between groups. ANOVA was used to evaluate differences within groups. ResultsA total of 115 participants (intervention = 62, control = 53) were finally evaluated. The demographic data and pre-test scores were not significantly different between the 2 groups. The mean knowledge of PPH scores were significantly higher in the TBL students than in the control students at post-test, 2 weeks post-test, 6 weeks post-test, and 12 weeks post-test (all p < .001). The nursing student satisfaction scale score was significantly higher in the intervention group than in the control group. ConclusionThe findings showed that TBL is an effective active learning strategy to improve knowledge of PPH of Indonesian midwifery students before clinical practice exposure. Further long-term evaluation (e.g., 1 semester) of the effectiveness of TBL is warranted.

Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the effect of showering in labor on the birth satisfaction and maternal postnatal comfort of the mother. Materials and Methods: Randomized controlled study model was used in the study. Pregnant women in the active phase of labor were randomly divided into 1:1 experimental and control groups (50+50). The data were collected twice, before and after birth, using the questionnaire form. Prenatal data was collected using the Prenatal Data Collection Form. Data after birth was collected with the Postnatal Data Collection Form, Postnatal Comfort Scale, and Birth Satisfaction Scale. The pregnant women in the experimental group were showered in 37°C water for at least 20 minutes. Student t, Mann Whitney U, and chi-square tests were used to evaluate the data.Results: There was no significant difference between the birth satisfaction and postpartum comfort scale scores of the groups (p>0.05). There was a strong relationship between birth satisfaction and postpartum comfort in the experimental group (r=0.68). In the experimental group, postpartum comfort and satisfaction scores were significantly higher in women who did not undergo episiotomy and breastfeed in the first half-hour (p<0.05). There was no difference between postpartum comfort and satisfaction levels of the groups according to the presence of episiotomy and the time of first breastfeeding (p>0.05).Conclusion: Although showering in labor did not have a direct effect on birth satisfaction and postpartum comfort, it was found that it can positively affect birth results.

Clinical analyses of ultrasound-guided nerve block in lower-extremity surgery: A retrospective study.

The purpose of this study is to examine the clinical effects and results of lower-extremity surgery under ultrasound-guided nerve block; time required for nerve block, anesthesia onset time, duration of anesthesia, duration of analgesia, tolerable tourniquet time, visual analog scale (VAS) satisfaction score, and anesthetic-related complications. A total of 3312 cases (2597 patients) from January 2010 to April 2015 were analyzed retrospectively. A senior author performed ultrasound-guided nerve block of the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve (LFCN, 630 cases), femoral nerve (FN, 2503 cases), obturator nerve (ON, 366 cases), sciatic nerve (SN, 3271 cases), or posterior femoral cutaneous nerve (PFCN, 222 cases) depending on the type of surgery. Time required for nerve block, anesthesia onset time, duration of anesthesia, duration of analgesia, tolerable tourniquet time, VAS satisfaction score, and anesthetic-related complications were analyzed. The mean times required were 1.1 min for SN block, 2.5 min for FN/SN block (1762 cases), and 4.8 min for FN/SN/LFCN/ON block. The mean anesthesia onset time was 48 min. The mean durations of anesthesia were 4.5 h for FN dermatome and 5.6 h for SN dermatome. The mean duration of analgesia was 11.5 h. The mean tolerable tourniquet times after were 35, 51, and 84 min after SN block, FN/SN block, and FN/SN/LFCN/ON block, respectively. The mean VAS satisfaction score was 9.3. There were no anesthetic-related complications, such as infection, hematoma, paralysis, or nerve irritation. Selective block of the LFCN, FN, ON, SN, and PFCN based on the locations of lesions and type of surgery showed favorable clinical results with high efficacy. Ultrasound-guided nerve block may be a good option for anesthesia and analgesia in lower-extremity surgery.

INTRODUCTION: This descriptive study was carried out in order to determine the job satisfaction of the nurses working in the Application and Research Hospital and the State Hospital. METHODS: The research was carried out in descriptive and cross-sectional research design. The study population consisted of 400 nurses working in the Research Hospital and the State Hospital in Zonguldak Provincial Center between May 1, 2019 and June 30, 2019. The sample of 220 nurses, aged between 18-65 years, who accepted to participate in the study, and completed at least 1 year in their positions have been evaluated using research data collection tools of ”Personal Information Form” and “Job Satisfaction Scale”. Descriptive statistics were used for statistical analysis of continuous (quantitative) variables. Categorical variables were given as numbers, percentages, “mean (.± standard deviation), minimum and maximum values. Kruskal-Wallis and Mann- Whitney U tests were used to compare the means of categorical data. RESULTS: In this study, the level of job satisfaction of nurses was found to be at a medium level (86.18 ± 21.73). Mean overall Job Satisfaction Scale scores of the nurses working in a university and state hospital were found to be 89.77 ± 22.05, and 82.46 ± 20.86 points, respectively. Nurses who worked with a 24-hour shift 1-2 times or did not work with a 24-hour shift in last month had higher scores than others in subscale of business policy (p&lt;0,05). DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION: In this study, it was determined that the job satisfaction level of the nurses was at a medium level. In order to increase job satisfaction, it may be beneficial to make new plans to improve the weekly working hours of nurses working for 5 years or more, to take into account the requests of the nurses about the unit they will work, and to support participation in scientific activities in nursing.

Determination of the Relationship Between the Tendency of Conflict and Job Satisfaction in Physiotherapists

Purpose:This study was conducted to determine the relationship between job satisfaction and conflict tendency in physiotherapists. Patients and Methods:The sample of the study consists of 202 physiotherapists with at least 1 year of professional experience. Conflict Tendency Scale, Job Satisfaction Scale and the evaluation form prepared by the researchers were applied to the physiotherapists participated to the study. Results:The mean scores of Job Satisfaction Scale and Conflict Tendency Scale of the participants were 97.8±12.2 and 165.9±28.0 points, respectively. Job Satisfaction Scale and Conflict Tendency Scale scores do not differ according to the gender, income level, institution and the degree of satisfaction with job (p˃0.05). Physiotherapists with less than 5 years of professional experience and under the age of 30 had significantly higher Conflict Tendency Scale scores than their more experienced colleagues (p˂0.05). A moderate negative correlation was detected between job satisfaction and conflict tendency (r = 0.571). Conclusion:Conflict tendencies and interpersonal communication skills and interpersonal communication problems decrease as physiotherapists gain professional experience. Job satisfaction increases with the decrease of conflict tendency in physiotherapists.

The effect of empathy training given to midwives on the empathic communication skills of midwives and the birth satisfaction of mothers giving birth with the help of these midwives: A quasi-experimental study.

Empathic attitudes and behaviours of midwives directly affect obstetric outcomes. The study aims to examine the effect of empathy training on the empathic communication skills of midwives and the childbirth satisfaction of primiparous mothers. This quasi-experimental study has two sample groups including midwives working in the delivery unit (n=15) and mothers giving birth with the help of these midwives (n=134). Empathy training was given to the midwives through a 32-hour program involving didactic narrative, creative drama, and psychodrama techniques. A "Descriptive Information Form," and the "Empathic Communication Skills" and "Empathic Tendencies" scales were used to collect data from the midwives, and another "Descriptive Information Form" and the "Scale for Measuring Maternal Satisfaction in Normal Birth" were used for the maternal data. Empathic communication skills and empathic tendencies of the midwives were found to be higher right after and 8 weeks after the training than before the training (P= .001, P= .040, respectively). The total score and sub-dimensions of the maternal satisfaction scale (ie, midwifery care, respect for privacy, meeting expectations, postpartum care) were found to be higher in mothers giving birth after the midwives' empathy training than those giving birth before (P< .001). A higher level of maternal birth satisfaction was seen in mothers giving birth right after the training (94%) than those giving birth before training (3%). The empathy training improved both the empathy skills of midwives, and translated to improved maternal satisfaction with birth among their mothers. It is recommended to increase the number of follow-ups to evaluate the long-term effect of empathy training.

Opioid Consumption After Knee Arthroscopy

To prospectively observe opioid consumption in patients undergoing knee arthroscopy and to create an evidence-based guideline for opioid prescription. This prospective multicenter observational study enrolled patients undergoing outpatient knee arthroscopy for meniscal repair, meniscectomy, or chondroplasty. Patients were provided with a pain journal to record postoperative opioid consumption, Numeric Pain Rating Scale (NPRS) pain scores, and Likert scale satisfaction scores for 1 week postoperatively. State databases were reviewed for additional opioid prescriptions. One hundred patients were included in this study. Patients were prescribed a median of 5 pills (37.5 oral morphine equivalent [OME]). Median postoperative opioid consumption was 0 pills, with a mean of 0.6 pills (4.4 OME), and 74% of patients did not consume any opioid medication postoperatively. All patients consumed ≤5 pills (37.5 OME), and no patient required a refill. Patients reported a mean daily NPRS value of 1.9 out of 10 and a mean Likert score of 4.4 out of5. We found that current opioid prescribing habits exceed the need for postoperative pain management. Overall, all patients consumed ≤5 opioid pills, and 92% of patients discontinued opioids by the second postoperative day. In spite of the low prescription quantity, patients reported high satisfaction rates and low NPRS pain scores and required no refills. Therefore, we recommend that patients undergoing knee arthroscopy are prescribed no more than 5 oxycodone 5-mg pills. II, prospective prognostic cohort investigation.

Medium-Term Results of Corticosteroid Injections for Morton's Neuroma.

The objective of this study was to evaluate the medium-term results of corticosteroid injections for Morton's neuroma. This was a prospective follow-up study of a previous randomized controlled trial (RCT). Forty-five neuromas in 36 patients were injected with a single corticosteroid injection either with or without ultrasound guidance. As the results of the RCT showed no difference in outcomes between techniques, the data were pooled for the purpose of this study. Questionnaires were sent out and responses were collected via mail or telephone interview. Results were available in 42 out of 45 neuromas. There was a sex split of 68% female/32% male with a mean age of 62.6 years (SD, 12 years). At mean follow-up of 4.8 years (SD, 0.91 years), the original corticosteroid injection remained effective in 36% (n = 16) of the patients. In these cases, the visual analog scale (VAS) pain score (P < .001) and Manchester-Oxford Foot Questionnaire Index (MOxFQ Index) (P = .001) remained significantly better than preintervention scores. The remaining cases underwent either a further injection or surgery. Fifty-five percent of the 11 neuromas that received a second injection continued to be asymptomatic in the medium term. Overall, 44% (n = 20) of the initial cohort underwent surgical excision by the medium-term follow-up. The VAS score, MOxFQ Index, and satisfaction scale score across all groups were not significantly different. Corticosteroid injections for Morton's neuroma remained effective in over a third of cases for up to almost 5 years. A positive outcome at 1 year following a corticosteroid injection was reasonably predictive of a prolonged effect from the injection. Level II, prospective comparative study.

FİBROMİYALJİ SENDROMU TANILI KADINLARDA PSİKODRAMA GRUP TERAPİSİNİN AĞRI, DEPRESYON VE YAŞAM DOYUMU ÜZERİNE ETKİLERİ

Amaç: Psikodrama grup terapisi uygulaması ile, fibromiyalji sendromu tanısı alan kadınların, duygu ifadeleri sağlanarak ağrılarını ve eşlik eden depresyonlarını azaltıp yaşam doyumlarını arttırmak amaçlanmıştır. Yöntem: Çalışmaya, fizik tedavi ve rehabilitasyon polikliniğinden yönlendirilen, fibromiyalji sendromu tanılı, 15 hastayla başlanmış, 12 hastayla tamamlanmıştır. Oturumlar; haftada bir gün, 11 hafta boyunca yapılmıştır. Etkin kullanılan teknikler; rol değiştirme, aynalama ve eşlemedir. Hastalara psikodrama grup çalışmaları öncesi ve sonrasında, Beck Depresyon Ölçeği, Fibromiyalji Etki Anketi, Yaşam doyumu Ölçeği verilmiştir. Bulgular: Çalışmanın sonunda hastaların, ağrılarının azaldığı ve kendilerini daha rahat hissetmeye başladıkları görülmüştür. Fibromiyalji Etki Anketi ve Beck Depresyon Ölçeği ön test-son test sonuçları arasında anlamlı bir azalma olmuştur. Yaşam Doyum Ölçeği puanlarının istatistiklere yansımamış olsa da yükseldiği görülmüştür. Sonuç: Hastaların iyileşebileceklerine dair inançları ve özgüvenleri artmıştı. Ağrılarının derinde yatan nedenlerini psikodrama teknikleriyle görme fırsatı bulabilmiş, bastırdıkları duyguları sözel olarak ifade edebildiklerinde yakınmalarının azaldığını fark etmişlerdi. Sonuç olarak fibromiyalji hastalarında psikodrama tekniklerinin kullanımının tedaviye önemli bir katkı sağlayacağı düşünülmüştür.

Comparison of single-port vs. two-port VATS technique for primary spontaneous pneumothorax

Background Video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) has been used for thoracic surgery for about two decades. As the trend in VATS is to use fewer ports to decrease postoperative complications, we compared the results of our experience with single-port and two-port VATS for primary spontaneous pneumothorax (PSP). Material and methods This is a non-randomized retrospective study. From January 2017 to December 2018, 104 patients with PSP underwent VATS. Fifty-six patients received single-port VATS and 48 patients received two-port VATS. Operation time, blood loss, number of staplers used, drainage time, postoperative hospital stay, complications, chest wall paresthesia, visual analog scale (VAS) pain scores, and patient satisfaction scale scores were compared between the two groups. Results There was no difference in age, gender, body mass index (BMI), smoking status, surgical indication, and involved side between the two groups. The procedures performed in the single-port group were similar to those performed in the two-port group. No significant difference was found in operation time, blood loss, number of staplers used, drainage time, and recurrence rate. The rate of chest wall paresthesia was lower in the single-port group than in the two-port group (28.6 vs. 52.1%, p = .014). The VAS scores in the single-port group were lower than those in the two-port group at 24 and 48 h (p = .032 and p = .004). Conclusions Compared with two-port VATS, single-port VATS for PSP showed more favorable results in terms of postoperative paresthesia and pain. The single-port procedure may be considered a good alternative to the standard thoracoscopic treatment of PSP. Quality of care and job satisfaction in a Hospital Trust before and after The Coordination Reform in Norway.

AimsTo study the impact of organizational changes on the quality of health services and on health professionals' job satisfaction in specialist health services.DesignA repeated cross‐sectional study, including 5 years before (2007) and 5 years after (2017) the introduction of The Coordination Reform in Norway.MethodsNurses and auxiliary nurses working in medical wards at three hospitals evaluated the quality of health services and various aspects of their working conditions, using questionnaires: Quality of Patient Care and the Job Satisfaction Scale.ResultsIn 2017, nurses and auxiliary nurses had longer work experience compared with 2007. Nurses and auxiliary nurses also worked full hours. There was no significant change over time in total Quality of Patient Care score or in any of the sub‐scores. There was no significant change in total Job Satisfaction Scale score over time, but there was a significant decline in the sub‐score for physical working conditions.

ÜNİVERSİTE ÖĞRENCİLERİNİN İNTERNET KULLANIMI İLE MUTLULUK VE YAŞAM DOYUMU DÜZEYLERİ ARASINDAKİ İLİŞKİNİN İNCELENMESİ

Aim: The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between the internet use, happiness and life satisfaction levels of the university students.Methods: This descriptive study was conducted with 353 students enrolled in the Faculty of Health Sciences of a University between March and May 2018. The Young İnternet Addiction Test, the Oxford Happiness Scale Short Form and The Life Satisfaction Scale were used for data collection. SPSS 25.0 package program was used to analyse the data. In statistical analyses, the significance level p<0.05 was accepted.Results: The Young Internet Addiction Test Short Form of the students enrolled in the study was determined as 30.15±9.42. According to this scale, there was a possible addiction risk of 17% of the participants, while 83% of the participants did not have an internet addiction risk. In addition, the Oxford Happiness Scale Short Form score average was determined as 17.74±3.13 and the life satisfaction scale score average was 14.75±4. The mean score of Young Internet Addiction Test and the mean score of life satisfaction scale were also negative and low but significant correlations were found.Conclusion: As the risk of internet addiction increases, it is observed that the levels of young people's life satisfaction and happiness are affected negatively. In this sense, it is suggested that plans should be made to support, strengthen and increase the awareness of young people and to ensure their sustainability for the solution of the addiction risks that will be realized in the early period.
