Attitudes and Perceptions of Leadership on Succession Planning in the Indian Manufacturing Sector

This study explores the critical role of organisational leadership in the implementation of succession planning within Indian manufacturing organisations, given the increasing importance of seamless leadership transitions for maintaining operational stability and organisational resilience. The research investigates the attitudes and perceptions of senior leaders towards succession planning, focusing on how their views influence the execution of these strategies. Employing a mixed-methods approach with quantitative and qualitative interviews, the study gathers insights from a representative sample of organisational leaders. The main objectives are assessing leadership attitudes towards succession planning and understanding their perceptions of its implementation. Two key hypotheses are proposed: H01 asserts that leadership attitudes have no significant impact on succession planning, while H02 posits that leadership perceptions do not significantly influence its execution. Analysis of the collected data aims to reveal the extent to which leadership perspectives shape succession planning practices, providing valuable insights and recommendations for strengthening leadership approaches and succession frameworks. The findings are expected to contribute to a broader understanding of how effective leadership can foster a strong succession planning system, driving sustainable growth and resilience in the manufacturing sector.

Where Did the Global Elite Go to School? Hierarchy, Harvard, Home and Hegemony

ABSTRACTWe examine the educational backgrounds of the global elite, using new data on a diversity of organizational leadership roles as well as the population of the super‐rich across the world. Four trends emerge when examining the university education of the global elite. First, we find a small number of globally prestigious universities to take on super prominent roles, suggesting a strongly hierarchical distribution of credentials among the global elite. Second, we find a consistent and unique place for Harvard University within this system. Third, we find evidence for a significant yet variable ‘home‐bias’ in the education of the global elite. This is moderated by the fourth regularity, the hegemony of Anglo‐American credentials. These four global regularities can enhance ongoing research on global elite populations. Our findings are robust to both the removal of all American elites in the sample, to dynamic stratified sampling of the network boundary and to disaggregating the sample into different elite roles. The analysis of this article is the first of its kind to offer a large‐scale descriptive mapping of central tendencies in global elite university education.

Company Management: The Influence of Organizational Structure and Leadership on Team Performance

This research is driven by a need to gain insight into the key roles that effective leadership plays in achieving optimal performance within teams. In order to fully comprehend the dynamics of team leadership, it is essential to have a robust theoretical and conceptual framework in place. This understanding will help us to identify the factors that influence team performance, and in particular, the role that effective communication, positive feedback, rewards and recognition, and the creation of a supportive work environment plays in motivating teams. In addition, it is vital to consider the key factors that influence the performance of high-functioning teams, which include elements such as team trust, collaboration, effective communication, and leader support. This research employs the methodology of a literature study to ascertain the role of leadership in organizations. In conclusion, team leadership plays an essential role in achieving effective team performance in organizations. By developing a robust theoretical and conceptual framework, leaders can cultivate the practical and strategic insights necessary to lead teams effectively. Effective leaders influence team performance motivation, manage conflict, build cooperation, and create a supportive work environment. The significance of effective team performance is also evidenced by the key factors that influence great team performance. In practice, leaders must be able to apply these insights in a practical manner in order to achieve the desired results.

The positive role of authentic leadership in organizations negatively affected by cognitive diversity.

Workplace diversity has recently gained increasing significance and urgency in business organizations. This promotion may stem from information processing, and specifically from information elaboration. Information elaboration leverages diverse task-related information and skills possessed by members, fostering the exchange of diverse perspectives, elaborate discussions, and achieving high team performance. In this context, cognitive diversity, encompassing members' knowledge, skills, and perspectives, may have a positive impact. However, some previous studies suggest that cognitive diversity can lead to affective conflict and impede information processing. In organizations with highly homogeneous social and cultural backgrounds, cognitive diversity may not be effectively utilized in the information elaboration process, potentially yielding negative effects. Authentic leadership is recognized as a significant contributor to facilitating team processes including information processing, with various studies demonstrating its effectiveness. This study hypothesized that cognitive diversity negatively affects the information elaboration process, while authentic leadership has a positive effect. To test these hypotheses, we employed multilevel structural equation modeling analysis based on data collected from 375 respondents in 90 teams across various industries in Japan. The results showed that cognitive diversity negatively affects information elaboration at the individual level. By contrast, authentic leadership positively affects information elaboration at both individual and team levels. These findings suggest that the effect of cognitive diversity on information processing in the workplace may not always be positive, particularly in a sociocultural context that values homogeneity, as observed in Japanese organizations. This study advances the literature on authentic leadership by validating its effect on information elaboration and provides practical implications for diversity management. Additionally, it underscores the effectiveness of authentic leadership in leveraging team members' cognitive diversity to facilitate information elaboration.

Cyber-Bullying at Workplace and its Mental Health Outcomes: A Linguistic Analysis

Background: Cyberbullying is a growing concern in educational settings, but recent evidence indicates that it has become prevalent in professional environments as well. With the advent of digital communication, employees have become vulnerable to cyberbullying not only during work hours but also in their personal time. This study focuses on understanding the psychological impacts of cyberbullying in the workplace. Objective: The primary aim of this research was to investigate the lived experiences of cyberbullying victims in the workplace, to comprehend the depth of its psychological implications, and to identify coping mechanisms employed by victims. The study also aimed to examine the patterns of cyberbullying across different hierarchical levels within an organization. Methods: A qualitative, phenomenological approach was adopted, involving semi-structured interviews with eight employees from a public-sector university in Lahore, Pakistan. Participants were selected through purposive and snowball sampling techniques, and thematic analysis was utilized to interpret the data. Results: Participants reported experiencing stress, embarrassment, and anger due to cyberbullying, with these emotions stemming from a sense of vulnerability and public exposure. Cyberbullying incidents occurred through emails, social media, and text messages, often leading to a need for self-preservation and coping strategies. The study found that aggressors included not just superiors but also peers and subordinates. Conclusion: The study concluded that workplace cyberbullying is a multifaceted issue that affects individuals across different levels of employment. It causes significant psychological distress, necessitating effective strategies for prevention and intervention. Future research should explore the role of organizational leadership in addressing workplace cyberbullying and aim for more generalizable findings through quantitative research.

This research examines the role of leadership in managing organizational change. The role of leadership in today's organizations, organizational change has become a major and important thing. The role of an effective leader aims to successfully manage change. The aim of this research is to determine the role of leadership in the organizational change process, as an influence on future progress. Literature review and theoretical analysis are combined with qualitative research methodology in this work. Based on the research results, examine the meaning of leadership, the role of leadership for the organization and the leader's efforts to change the organization. Members inspire and motivate change when they participate in decision making and accept change under leadership. Planning, directing and implementing necessary changes becomes easier with collective decisions and those of a single leader. Department members who want to better manage organizational change will greatly benefit from this research.

How innovation influence organisational performance among SMEs in Ghana: The mediating role of organisational leadership

The purpose of the study is to investigate the relationship between organisational leadership, organisational performance and innovation among small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) in Ghana. We hypothesize organisational leadership as a mediator between innovation and organisational performance. Thus, we investigated how innovation and organisational leadership directly influence organisational success. The study uses quantitative methodology and adopts a survey approach to collect data from SMEs (n=380) in Ghana. The results indicate that organisational leadership and performance are positively correlated. Further, we found that organisational leadership within SMEs affects the relationship between innovation and organisational performance. By identifying the positive effects of innovation and organisational leadership on organisational performance, this study encourages SMEs to invest in innovation and develop strong leadership capabilities.

Application of Agile Methodology in Managing the Healthcare Sector

The healthcare sector has gradually embraced effective project management for improved healthcare outcomes. This paper explores the application of the agile methodology for managing the healthcare sector. This study significantly contributes to the healthcare sector by providing insights into the application of Agile methodology, potentially enhancing healthcare management and patient outcomes. In this article, the author reviews ten peer-reviewed articles, analyses the findings, and generates three themes: Agile methodology development and implementation in the healthcare sector, the healthcare sector's readiness factors/levels for applying the agile methodology, and how agile methods improve healthcare outcomes. The findings across the three identified themes reiterate the crucial role of organizational leadership, flexible structures, and advanced technology in enhancing agility within the healthcare sector. Moreover, the studies highlight the potential of agile principles to enhance customer-centricity, customer satisfaction, and overall adaptability in healthcare organizations. The study recommends healthcare institutions priorities Agile competency development through training programs and cultivate a culture of adaptability to support Agile methodology adoption. Furthermore, it suggests quantitative research to validate readiness factors' influence, focusing on patient-centered outcomes and comparative studies between Agile and traditional healthcare approaches to bridge literature gaps.

Organizational culture at the school level requires leaders who are creative, in mobilizing madrasah, so that the learning carried out becomes meaningful and produces quality education. Transformative leadership design model is needed as an effort to produce education that is competitive and produces students who have personality integrity, a disciplined attitude, are creative, innovative and competitive. This article seeks to elaborate on the transformative leadership model of madrasah headmaster in increasing the competitiveness of education in the industrial era 4.0 with the object of Madrasah Aliyah. Using library research, this article argues that transformative leaders have several indicators: first, the existence of team work that collaborates across the entire academic community. Second, there is an increase in teacher work ethic, thereby fostering teacher professionalism. Third, it enables the implementation of the supervisory leadership role. Fourth, creating madrasah organizational arrangements, a relationship climate that is loose coupling, and changing the structure and climate of the bureaucracy to a comfortable professional bureaucracy so as to enable the implementation of organizational leadership roles.

Why Spiritual Leadership is Such an Important Component of the Company: Scoping Overview

Spiritual leadership in an organization is a topic that is receiving increasing attention. Spiritual leadership proliferated and gained popularity in the 1990s. Several authors have emphasized the importance of spiritual leadership. This article examines empirical studies highlighting the importance of spiritual leadership from the perspective of companies and their employees. This study uses the scoping review method of data obtained from manuscripts published between 2009 and 2022, found 24 publications. This review summarises 14 years of spiritual leadership research while also considering the context, nature, and contemporary spiritual leadership literature. This study tries to collect data that shows the significant influence of spiritual leadership on groups and their constituents. The research results show that spiritual leadership generally has a beneficial and sizeable impact on the organisation's and its members' growth. This study highlights the critical role of spiritual leadership in organizations, including the organization and its constituents.

Gender diversity in the workplaces: Regulatory framework, public policies, and a possible future scenario

The concept of diversity management refers to the business strategy adopted by organizations for the recruitment, retention, and inclusive development of individuals from a variety of backgrounds. Since then, due to the huge socio-cultural, political, and economic transformations, along with the globalization of trade and business models, on the one hand, and the migration flows of people across the globe, on the other, the degree of diversity within organizations has grown exponentially, diversity management has become strategic, and copious literature on this issue has developed over the last three decades. After a brief introduction to the wide field of diversity management, the paper focuses attention on the specific issues of gender diversity in the workplace. Particularly, the analysis concern women’s access to the workplace and the related education and training paths, economic treatment, career opportunities, and the possibility of having in charge leadership roles in organizations. Subsequently, the gender gap is explored by presenting a snapshot of the situation in the European Union (EU) and Italy, also considering the consequences of the COVID 19 pandemic. Then the attention is focused on the current Italian regulatory framework. Finally, some concluding remarks and a possible scenario are presented.

Strengthening Public Organization Capacity of Fisherman Empowerment Programs in South Sulawesi Province: A Smart Society as Outcome

This research aims to analyze the ability and capacity of local government organizations in implementing fisherman empowerment programs. A qualitative approach is employed in this research to explain the capacity of local government organizations according to the context and factuality. Data are collected through observation, in-depth interviews, Focus Group Discussions and Documentation. Interactive data analysis methods are used to analyze the data obtained. The results of the research show that professional development is not carried out continuously and there is a lack of capacity building and training programs provided to employees, particularly relating to strengthening organizational capacity in fostering fisherman groups. As for resources and supports, there are limited human resources and budget allocations dedicated for the fisherman empowerment programs. And in organizational environment, the incentives are low, coupled with relatively rigid standard operating procedures and bureaucratic structures. The results of this research reveal that the capacity of public organizations needs to be supported by quality organizational leadership, especially facilitative and collaborative leadership. This factor becomes crucial given the role of organizational leaders as policy makers who determine the direction of policy, planning and implementation.

This research focuses on the relationship between the leadership style, organizational commitment and organizational culture in primary hospitals. According to previous literature, leadership ability is the ability to influence team vision and mission goals. It is the role of organizational leadership. Due to different types of leaders, As a result, different organizational cultures have been formed. Leaders of the organization and leadership style will result in organizational cultures, and thus to expand its influence on organizational commitment and form affect the validity of the key due to factors. Organizational culture determines the behavior of organizations and individuals, but also affects the organization's strategy, objectives and business operational methods and conduct or leader. Values, behavior and vision can be helpful to the work environment; they are present in every one working environment. The research conducted verification and intermediary verification analysis, and found that it supports the hypothesis of the influence of transformational leadership on organizational emotional commitment; it also presents a positive impact on supportive organizational culture; organizational culture has a partial mediating effect in transformational leadership and organizational commitment.

Assessing strategic leadership in organizations: Using bibliometric data to develop a holistic model

The role of organizational leaders has transitioned over time, from being supervisory to strategic. This trend has been reflected in the literature, with research related to strategic leadership has risen swiftly in quantity but distributed across divergent academic fields. With increased automation and the move to a digital economy, organizational resources' leadership and strategic use are of critical significance. Hence, it is an appropriate time to put forward a wide-reaching review that identifies, summarizes, and integrates the already produced research while highlighting limitations in the field and future paths for research. We identified relevant articles published between 1985 and 2020. Applying systematic and content analysis, we highlight the core theories and methodologies used and propose a new all-encompassing strategic leadership model. This review served to identify significant gaps in the knowledge in terms of the theoretical orientation and the main content being studied.

Attitudinal Barriers Hindering Adoption of Telepsychiatry among Mental Healthcare Professionals: Israel as a Case-Study.

Despite proven advantages for the use of telemedicine in psychiatry, mental healthcare professionals have shown deep-seated mistrust and suspicion of telepsychiatry, which hinders its widespread application. The current study examines the attitudes of Israeli mental health professionals towards telepsychiatry and seeks to uncover the effects of experience and organizational affiliation on its adoption. The methodology included qualitative and thematic analysis of 27 in-depth interviews with Israeli mental health professionals, focusing on three major themes—clinical quality, economic efficiency, and the effects on the work–life balance of healthcare professionals. The attitudes of mental health professionals were found to be widely divergent and sharply dichotomized regarding different aspects of telepsychiatry and its suitability for mental healthcare services. However, there was a general consensus that telemedicine may not fulfil its promise of being a panacea to the problems of modern public medicine. In addition, attitudes were related to hierarchical position, organizational affiliation, and personal experience with telepsychiatry. Specifically, organizational affiliation influenced experience with and support for the assimilation of telepsychiatry. The study also revealed the role of organizational leadership and culture in promoting or inhibiting the proliferation and adoption of innovative technologies and services in modern medicine.

Enhancing Organizational Citizenship Behavior for the Environment: A Social Identity Perspective

Although the value of subordinates’ organizational citizenship behavior for the environment (OCBE) has received more attention, the understanding of what contributes to subordinates’ OCBE has been notably neglected. According to social identity theory, we propose a theoretical model that responsible leadership promotes subordinates’ OCBE by examining subordinates’ moral identity as a mediator and individualism as a boundary condition. Using a sample of 273 collected in China, results indicated that responsible leadership was positively related to subordinates’ moral identity, which in turn was positively related to subordinates’ OCBE. Subordinates’ moral identity partially mediated the relationship between responsible leadership and their OCBE. In addition, both the relationship between responsible leadership and subordinates’ moral identity and the indirect relationship between responsible leadership and subordinates’ OCBE were stronger when individualism was lower. These findings provide novel insights into how to help subordinates improve OCBE and highlight the important role of responsible leadership in organizations.

Counselors as organizational leaders: Exploring parallels of servant leadership and professional counseling

ABSTRACT The aim of this article is to encourage professional counselors to consider using their counseling competencies outside of the counseling field as servant leaders in organizational settings. The authors identified counseling competencies that both bring support to these servant leadership dimensions and serve as transferable skills within diverse organizational leadership roles. Implications are suggested for graduate programs and the counseling profession.

The meaning of women has shifted not only biologically, but also ideologically. The existence of the pesantren is influenced by the values, perceptions, policies, habits and behavior of the people in it. Has characteristics that can influence the formation of positive attitudes and morals. Women clerics, or so-called bu Nyai in Javanese terms, are culture creators who play an important role in the pesantren. The role of organizational leaders in maintaining organizational culture, with a concentration on the issue of eliminating violence against women, preventing child marriage, extremism and environmental fatwas. The role of female ulam can be seen when determining boundaries, meaning that they are able to create clear cultural differences between one organization and another. Second, it plays a role in facilitating and generating organizational commitment above individual interests. Third, the role of bringing a sense of identity to organizational members. Fourth, plays a role in the stability of the social system.
