Designing interoperable and trusted certification schemes is critical to enable trade in so-called “green” commodities like hydrogen and should avoid imposing onerous reporting requirements or inflating production costs. As certification schemes develop around the world, the criteria under which grid electricity can be defined as “renewable” will have important implications for production cost and true emissions from grid-connected hydrogen production. Here we show that the impact of temporal correlation settings on emissions and electrolyser profitability is determined by the interplay between the quality of the local renewable resources and characteristics of regional electricity grids. We focus on Australia as a potential exporter of large volumes of low-emissions hydrogen and model hybrid hydrogen production systems powered by a mix of renewable and grid electricity under different temporal correlation settings at over 330 different locations. We find that yearly time matching provides a balance between providing accurate certification of zero emissions hydrogen and increasing costs under Australian PGO scheme. In high-cost grids, lowest-cost hydrogen is produced at sites with good renewable resources and producers are incentivized to develop new renewable energy capacity. Conversely, only very stringent temporal correlation is sufficient to limit actual emissions below zero in grids where electricity prices are low and this increases production costs significantly. Moreover, tightening the temporal correlation rules at a later date will not expose first-mover projects to the disproportionate cost penalties. Instead, overly restrictive temporal correlation may limit the opportunity to design flexible configurations, resulting in overly conservative systems that reduce cost-effectiveness.

Coastal aquifers serve as a lifeline for agriculture, drinking water and ecosystems. However, they are increasingly under threat worldwide from seawater intrusion, primarily driven by excessive groundwater extraction, intensified land use, population growth, and climate change, including sea-level rise. This study applies an integrated, multi-seasonal hydrochemical and isotopic approach to assess groundwater and surface water quality in the Metaponto coastal plain (southern Italy). Groundwater and surface water were sampled seasonally over one year and analysed for major ions, trace metals, stable isotopes (δ 18 O, δ 2 H), and radioactive isotopes ( 3 H, 14 C), supported by hydrochemical diagrams, ionic deviation analysis, seawater fraction (f sea ), and multivariate statistics. Electrical conductivity in groundwater ranged from freshwater values (<1,000 μS/cm) inland to >10,000 μS/cm in coastal and deep wells, with maximum seawater fractions reaching ∼0.41. Hydrochemical facies evolve from Ca–HCO 3 inland to Na–Cl dominance near the coast, reflecting salinization driven by seawater mixing and cation exchange. Stable isotopes indicate predominantly meteoric recharge, while enriched δ 18 O and δ 2 H values (up to −2.5‰ and −15‰, respectively) in coastal and deep groundwater reflect evaporation and saline mixing. Tritium (≤0.5–4 TU) and radiocarbon ages (<1,500 to >10,000 years BP) reveal a vertically stratified aquifer, with modern shallow groundwater overlying confined paleo-groundwater. Despite elevated salinity, Heavy Metal Pollution Index (HPI) values remained low (≈10–15), indicating negligible metal contamination. These results demonstrate that groundwater quality degradation in the Metaponto coastal aquifer is primarily controlled by salinization rather than metal pollution and highlight the value of integrated hydrochemical–isotopic tools for identifying aquifer vulnerability and supporting sustainable groundwater management in coastal plains. • Integrate methods to identify processes causing groundwater quality degradation. • Reveal inland-to-coast salinity shifts with seasonal and depth-specific variations. • Differentiates mixing and reactive processes using f sea and ionic deviation analyses. • Apply δ 18 O, δ 2 H, 3 H, and 14 C to assess recharge sources and aquifer stratification. • Reveals isolated paleo-groundwater (>10,000 yrs) beneath a vulnerable coastal aquifer.

Biofloc technology (BFT) has emerged as a sustainable and nutrient-efficient approach to aquaculture, providing a practical response to resource limitations in Bangladesh's fisheries sector. This study examines the present condition, key challenges, and prospects of biofloc fish farming in Rajbari Sadar Upazila, Rajbari. Primary data were gathered from six selected farms using structured questionnaires and focus group discussions. The results show that the farms cultured a variety of fish species, including Labeo rohita, Catla catla, Cirrhinus mrigala, and Hypophthalmichthys molitrix. The overall stocking density recorded across the farms was 3,150 fish per acre. Demographic findings reveal that 95.83% of the farmers were male, while the largest proportion (33.33%) belonged to the 31–40 age group. In economic terms, production costs ranged from 253,200 to 358,150 BDT, with feed and fish fry accounting for the highest expenditures. Despite the considerable input costs, biofloc farming proved to be profitable, with the highest net profit reaching 129,975 BDT. Nevertheless, the sector continues to face significant constraints, including frequent disease outbreaks mainly fungal (40%) and bacterial (34%) along with high production costs and insufficient technical knowledge among farmers. While biofloc farming shows high potential, its future success in Rajbari depends on improved technical training, access to quality resources, and enhanced financial support.

This study aims to analyze the extent to which Human Resources (HR) Quality and Training influence Personnel Performance, both partially and simultaneously, on personnel of the Indonesian National Police's Special Detachment 88 Anti-Terror Prevention Directorate. The focus of this study is to examine whether improving HR competency quality and implementing effective training can significantly contribute to improving the performance of personnel who have strategic duties in preventing acts of terrorism. The type of research used is quantitative research, namely research that emphasizes the analysis of numerical data as a basis for drawing conclusions. However, this study also utilizes qualitative data as support, such as statements in questionnaires, consultation results, and short interviews between researchers and related informants. The study population includes 60 personnel, while the number of respondents who participated is the entire population, namely 60 people. Hypothesis testing was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Square (SEM–PLS) software version 4.0 to determine the strength of the relationship between variables. The test results show that Human Resource Quality (X1) and Training (X2) partially have a positive and significant influence on Personnel Performance (Y). Thus, the better the quality of Human Resources and the more effective the training provided, the higher the resulting personnel performance. The R-Square test result of 0.423 indicates that 42.3% of the variation in Personnel Performance can be explained by Human Resource Quality and Training. Meanwhile, the remaining 57.7% is influenced by other factors outside this research model. These results emphasize the importance of improving the quality of human resources and training as a strategic effort to support the optimal performance of Densus 88 personnel

In this paper, inspired by the forage-maturation hypothesis, we propose and investigate a novel resource-consumer model that incorporates forage quality, represented by digestibility, which declines exponentially with increasing biomass. Our aim is to reveal the coupled effects of resource biomass and quality on system dynamics. To this end, we first analyze the existence and stability of equilibria as well as the possible bifurcations the model undergoes, and then perform some numerical simulations to illustrate and complement the obtained theoretical results. Compared to the traditional resource-consumer model with no consideration of resource quality, our model can exhibit much more complex dynamics, including rich bifurcation phenomena such as Hopf, transcritical, saddle–node, homoclinic as well as cusp and Bogdanov–Takens bifurcations and two types of bistability. Both theoretical and numerical findings indicate that large resource biomass with low quality can lead to the extinction of consumers; however, for a herbivore population with low mortality rate, a moderate level of forage quality is more conducive to its persistence. These can provide fresh insights into maintaining the ecological balance within forage-herbivore systems.

The transformation of learning in higher education places digital libraries beyond simply providing information access, but rather as strategic instruments that determine the quality of student performance and learning outcomes. This study aims to comprehensively examine the influence of digital library use and the quality of digital collections on student performance and learning outcomes, with information literacy as a moderating variable. The study used a quantitative approach with an explanatory design using the Structural Equation Modeling method on 200 students of the Graduate School of PGRI Adi Buana University Surabaya, intakes of 2023 to 2025. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using measurement and structural models to test the direct and indirect effects between variables. The results showed that the quality of digital collections significantly influenced student learning outcomes and information literacy, while the use of digital libraries had no direct effect on student performance. Information literacy was shown to have a very strong influence on student performance and played a significant role in mediating the influence of the quality of digital collections and the use of digital libraries on performance and learning outcomes. These findings provocatively emphasize that access and intensity of digital library use will be meaningless without adequate information literacy, thus information literacy emerges as a determining factor that transforms the quality of digital library resources and utilization into tangible academic achievements. This research provides theoretical contributions in strengthening the integrative model of digital library-based learning as well as practical implications for higher education administrators to shift the policy focus from merely technology development to strengthening the quality of collections and student information literacy in a sustainable manner.

Improvements in the quality of human resources are greatly influenced by the quality of education, in which teachers play an important role indetermining the effectiveness of the learning process. Although teacher competency standards have been established through Law No. 14 of 2005, studies that describe the implementation of teacher professionalism based on direct experience in schools are still limited. Therefore, this study aims to describe and understand teacher professionalism based on teachers' experiences and perspectives in carrying out their duties at school. This study uses a qualitative approach with semi-structured interview techniques and documentation of teachers as research subjects. The results of the study show that teachers have implemented pedagogical, professional, social, and personal competencies in an integrated manner in their teaching practices. The integration of these four competencies supports the creation of effective, meaningful learning that is oriented towards developing the potential and character of students. It is concluded that teacher professionalism is reflected through the comprehensive application of the four competencies in the performance of their duties, thereby contributing to improving the quality of learning.

Accurate quantification of phosphogypsum (PG) filler in epoxy composites is essential for quality control and performance optimization. Conventional separation by muffle furnace calcination suffers from slow epoxy decomposition and risks thermal degradation of CaSO4, leading to inaccurate PG quantification. This study introduces a microwave-assisted separation method that leverages molecular vibration heating to achieve faster heating rates and more uniform temperature distribution, enabling complete epoxy removal while minimizing CaSO4 decomposition. Comprehensive characterization (X-ray diffraction, XRD; Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, FT-IR; scanning electron microscopy-energy dispersive spectroscopy, SEM-EDS) confirms the structural integrity of the isolated PG filler. Among five quantification methods evaluated, inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES) based on sulfur content provides the highest accuracy (spike recovery: 91–99.8%, relative standard deviation, RSD ≤ 4.2%), while gravimetry suffices for single-filler systems. This work establishes a reliable analytical framework for PG characterization in epoxy composites, supporting quality control and resource valorization.

A company’s growth depends heavily on human resources with expertise of its staff; competent personnel. Therefore, having competent human resources in their respective fields is a must for any company. In Lahat Regency’s non-star hotels, the workforce is characterized by heavy multitasking, where employees often cover several departments due to limited staffing and specific occupancy levels. This study using a qualitative approach to identify methods, drivers, and barriers in human resource quality improvement, ultimately proposing strategic recommendations. Data were collected via in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, then processed through a SWOT analysis of internal and external factors. Using SWOT-based analysis approach, this research contributes a strategic framework for quality enhancement. The findings suggest that improvement must move beyond basic staffing to include standardized service protocols across all non-star lodgings and rigorous performance evaluations based on guest feedback. Crucially, this study implies that for Lahat’s hospitality sector to remain competitive, management must prioritize coaching and digital promotion training. These results provide a practical roadmap for local operators and policymakers to synchronize regional tourism development with targeted human resource investment.

Higher education serves as an instrument for developing the quality of human resources (HR). Therefore, the issue of sustainability in higher education requires proper attention and management from various stakeholders, including the government, higher education institutions, and the community. However, not all students share the same financial circumstances when pursuing higher education, particularly those from underprivileged families who often face limitations in meeting educational needs. These conditions potentially affect the sustainability of their studies and increase the risk of discontinuing education before completion. Consequently, this study aims to examine the role of educational assistance in improving the retention of students from underprivileged families. This research employs a qualitative approach through a literature review of various relevant scientific sources. The study seeks to explore the correlation between student retention and educational assistance in Indonesia, as well as to analyze the extent to which such assistance plays a role in reducing student dropout rates. The findings indicate that educational assistance plays a positive role in supporting study sustainability by providing financial support that helps meet academic requirements and living expenses during the course of study. Furthermore, educational assistance also impacts the improvement of students' learning motivation and self-confidence in completing their higher education. Thus, educational assistance is one of the contributing factors to increasing the retention of students from underprivileged families in higher education.

Myopia is an escalating global health issue, particularly among adolescents, and its increasing prevalence is associated with a rising burden of ocular complications that adversely affect quality of life and strain healthcare resources. Extensive evidence links prolonged near work to myopia progression, prompting the development of innovative control strategies. One promising approach is the distant-image screen (DIST), which transforms a nearby real image into a virtual one that appears much farther away, thereby reducing the accommodative stress typically induced by prolonged near work. This study is designed to evaluate the efficacy of DIST in delaying the onset of myopia among pre-myopic children. This is a 1-year, multi-arm randomized controlled trial involving 192 children, who will be randomly assigned in a 1:1:1 ratio to one of three groups: (1) a DIST group; (2) a Combined Intervention group, which will receive both DIST and an optical defocusing intervention; and (3) a control group, engaging in regular near work without the use of DIST. The primary objective is to assess whether the use of DIST-alone or in combination with optical defocusing-can effectively delay the onset of myopia in pre-myopic children. The primary outcome is the proportion of myopia onset, and the secondary outcomes are the proportion of fast myopia progressors, change in spherical equivalent progression, and change in axial length at each follow-up point. The study aims to determine the independent efficacy of DIST as well as its potential synergistic benefits when combined with optical defocusing techniques. In the context of increasing academic demands and near work exposure, DIST offers a space-efficient, practical solution that could alleviate visual strain without interfering with learning. By providing robust data on both refractive and ocular structural changes, the findings may inform personalized myopia prevention strategies. If successful, DIST could serve as a valuable adjunct to current myopia control methods, ultimately reducing the public health burden of myopia. This study examines the effect of Digital Management Accounting Tools (DMAT) on the operational efficiency of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Bengkulu City in the era of Industry 5.0. The low adoption of digital accounting applications due to limited digital literacy, human resource quality, and technical support constitutes the main problem underlying this research. A quantitative approach was employed using an explanatory case study design involving 120 MSME owners selected through proportional random sampling. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4.0. The results demonstrate that DMAT has a positive and significant effect on MSME operational efficiency. Furthermore, managerial digital capability is proven to partially mediate the relationship between DMAT and operational efficiency. In other words, the effectiveness of DMAT implementation in improving operational efficiency is optimized when supported by strong managerial digital capabilities. These findings reinforce the relevance of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) in the context of MSME digital transformation and provide practical implications for policymaking and strategies to accelerate regional MSME digitalization.

This study examines the Critical Success Factors (CSFs) influencing contractor performance in winning public construction tenders under Indonesia's Ministry of Public Works using a qualification-based comparative approach. A quantitative design was employed, with data collected from 597 contractors (161 small, 187 medium, and 249 large firms). Separate Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) estimations were conducted for each contractor category, followed by a cross-group comparative analysis to identify scale-sensitive differences in CSF significance. The results reveal that Competitive Pricing and Equipment Resources consistently serve as significant determinants of tender success across all contractor classifications, confirming their universal importance within Indonesia's cost-driven and compliance-oriented procurement system. However, the influence of other CSFs varies by organizational scale. Small contractors are primarily influenced by Technology and Innovation and Regulatory Understanding; medium contractors by Company Qualification, Human Resources, and Document Quality; and large contractors by integrated resource management and regulatory risk control. This study is the first to apply a qualification-based comparative SEM-PLS framework, demonstrating that organizational scale moderates CSF relevance in public construction tendering. The findings challenge the prevailing one-size-fits-all perspective and provide scale-sensitive theoretical and practical implications for contractor strategy and public procurement policy in developing-country contexts.
