ABSTRACT Vanadium sulphide (VS4) nanosheets were synthesized by the hydrothermal method. The Polyaniline (PANI) and the VS4-PANI (PMCs) were synthesized by the in-situ polymerization method. The structural parameters were calculated from the PXRD pattern. The HR-SEM was used to record the surface morphology, which shows the interface between the VS4 and Polyaniline matrix. The absorption spectra and tauc plot were used to determine the optical band gap. To study the molecular interactions the Raman spectra was used. The synthesized materials were utilized to detect the presence of the metal ions such as Au3+ and Fe3+ (quenching) was using PL spectroscopy.
