Personalized Recommendation System for E-Commerce Websites Based on Multi-Scale Graph Neural Network

With the prosperity of the e-commerce industry, personalized recommendation systems are becoming increasingly important. However, traditional recommendation algorithms are limited in handling complex user behavior and dynamic interactions. Therefore, this paper innovatively proposes a recommendation framework based on multi-scale graph neural networks to accurately capture multi-level information in user-product interaction. This framework constructs a complex graph structure that covers users, products and diverse relationships. It utilizes hierarchical attention networks and residual linear graph convolutional networks to aggregate features from local to global through multi-scale graph convolution, and embeds emotional information to deeply analyze user preferences, product characteristics, and their complex relationships. At the same time, an attention mechanism is introduced to dynamically adjust the weight of information, enhancing the personalization and accuracy of recommendations. The experimental results show that compared to traditional recommendation algorithms and single-scale graph neural network models, the multi-scale graph neural network recommendation system proposed in this paper can significantly improve the accuracy, diversity and user satisfaction of recommendation results. This research not only enriches the application of graph neural networks in the field of recommendation systems, but also provides more intelligent and efficient personalized recommendation solutions for e-commerce websites.

Medical and Folklore Images during Pandemics: A Study of Edo Period Epidemic Visual Culture

Abstract Edo-period historical records and documents preserved a substantial number of images, many of which are related to epidemic outbreaks. Through systematic collation and categorical analysis, this study uses the chronological and thematic characteristics of these images as a framework to examine the response mechanisms of the Japanese government and public during infectious disease pandemics in the Edo period, as well as the multidimensional impacts of epidemics on social economy, culture, and customs. Illustrations of smallpox in medical texts reveal the developmental trajectory of Japan’s traditional medical knowledge system, while drawings in essays and diaries reflect public fear and non-medical cognitive patterns during cholera outbreaks. Epidemic-themed paintings not only document cholera treatment protocols by the government and medical professionals, as well as grassroots prevention and treatment practices for measles, but also vividly depict social dynamics during crises. Images related to epidemics in advertising reflect the prosperity of the pharmaceutical industry in the Edo period, while depictions in folding screens, ukiyozoushi and the occupational illustrations demonstrate societal customs for epidemic response. Collectively, the Edo-period epidemic crises profoundly shaped Japan’s medical system, economic structure, cultural forms, folk traditions, and public psychology, prompting the government, medical professionals, and civilians to develop distinct era-specific social coping mechanisms.

Exploring the influence of the critical factors on intentions of employee turnover in the banking segment: a comprehensive mediating analysis

The banking sector in Saudi Arabia is integral to achieving the Vision 2030 plan. High employee turnover has been identified as a critical concern, resulting in increasing expenses and lower profitability in the industry. Therefore, a comprehensive investigation is required to determine the variables leading to the high turnover intention and loss of competent employees. This study aims to investigate the relationships between organizational commitment, organizational identification, and employee turnover intention, as well as the mediating roles of employee performance and corporate reputation. A quantitative cross-sectional design was used to collect data from 550 employees in the banking sector through a survey questionnaire. Structural equation modeling was conducted to analyze the data. The findings indicated significant correlations between seven of the eight hypotheses, whereas an insignificant correlation was seen between organizational identification and turnover intention. Furthermore, three mediating associations received partial mediation, and one exhibited full mediation. Model fit indices demonstrated a satisfactory fit, with values below the suggested threshold of 0.08, while the AVE values surpassed the criterion of 0.50. All variables together explained 29% of the turnover intention variance, which met the substantial threshold. The findings demonstrated the importance of these factors in addressing the issue of high employee turnover, which in turn affects the stability and prosperity of the banking industry and, therefore, the Saudi economy as a whole.

Effects of Mixing Ratio and Lactic Acid Bacteria Preparation on the Quality of Whole-Plant Quinoa and Whole-Plant Corn or Stevia Powder Mixed Silage

Quinoa is the only single plant that can meet all the nutritional needs of human, and its potential for feed utilization has been continuously explored, becoming a prosperous industry for poverty alleviation. In order to further tap the feeding value of whole quinoa, develop quinoa as a feed substitute for conventional crops such as corn, and improve its comprehensive utilization rate, this experiment analyzed the silage quality and mycotoxin content of mixed silage of whole-plant quinoa (WPQ) with whole-plant corn (WPC) or stevia powder(SP) in different proportions, and further improved the silage quality of mixed silage by using two lactic acid bacteria preparations (Sila-Max and Sila-Mix). The quality, microbial population, and mycotoxin levels of quinoa and corn silage, as well as that of the mixed silage of quinoa and stevia, were evaluated using single-factor analysis of variance. The impact of various lactic acid bacteria preparations on the quality of whole-quinoa and whole-corn mixed silage was investigated through two-factor analysis of variance. WPQ and WPC were mixed at the ratio of 5:5 (QB5), 6:4 (QB6), 7:3 (QB7), 8:2 (QB8), 9:1 (QB9) and 10:0 (QB10). SP was mixed with WPQ at the supplemental levels of 0.2% (QB10S2), 0.4% (QB10S4), 0.6% (QB10S6), 0.8% (QB10S8) and 1.0% (QB10S10). After 60 days of silage, the silage indexes, the number of harmful microorganisms, and the mycotoxin levels were measured, to explore the appropriate ratio of mixed silage. The membership function analysis showed that the quality of mixed silage of WPQ with SP was better, and the optimal addition amount of SP was 0.6%. The results of Max and Mix on the quality improvement test of WPQ with WPC mixed silage showed that the two lactic acid bacteria formulations increased CP and AA content, and reduced NH3-N/TN; pH was significantly lower than the control group (p < 0.01), and LA was significantly higher than the control group (p < 0.01). The microbial count results showed that the addition of lactic acid bacteria preparation significantly reduced the number of molds and aerobic bacteria, and the effect of Mix was better than that of Max. When the mixing ratio was between QB7 and QB10, mold was not detected in the lactic-acid-bacteria preparation groups. Max and Mix significantly reduced the levels of mycotoxins, both of which were far below the range of feed safety testing, and 16S rRNA sequencing revealed that the silage microbiota varied with different mixing ratios and whether lactic acid bacteria preparations were used. Max and Mix increased the relative abundance of Firmicutes, with Mix having a more significant effect, especially in the QB6 (65.05%) and QB7 (63.61%) groups. The relative abundance of Lactobacillus was significantly higher than that of the control group (p < 0.05). The relative abundance of Enterobacteriaceae and Streptococcus were negatively and positively correlated with the addition level of quinoa, respectively. Comprehensive analysis showed that adding 0.6% SP to the WPQ and using Mix in mixed silage of WPQ and WPC with the proportion of WPQ no less than 70% had the best silage effect, and was more beneficial to animal health.

Industry Prosperity and Stock Return: Evidence from China’s Real Estate Industry

The influencing factors of capital asset pricing have been a hot topic in academic research, yet the practice of incorporating industry prosperity into factor models for quantitative analysis is limited. By creating a new factor based on the National Real Estate Climate Index and adding it to the Fama-French three-factor model (FF3), this study focuses on China’s real estate sector and examines the impact of industry prosperity on capital asset pricing. Empirical findings from the real estate sector of China’s A-share market include: (1) The FF3 shows good applicability, with a positive market premium, a negative size premium and a negative value premium; (2) A rise in industry prosperity has a significant negative impact on the excess returns for the next period on low book-to-market stocks and large-cap stocks with a medium book-to-market ratio; (3) Industry prosperity has some interactive effects on the FF3 factors. The objectives of this study are to fill the research gap, to support investment strategy optimization, and to serve as a guide for policy practices.
