Effects of Continuous Exercise on Physiological Indexes Among Middle-Aged and Elderly Chronic Patients in Northwest China

With the increase of aging population, accompanied by a series of aging problems, the study showed that the probability of chronic disease in the elderly population is 92.1%, and further research shows that the probability of having two or more chronic diseases is 70.0%. Therefore, understanding of the distribution and spatial-temporal variation trend of risk factors related to chronic diseases can provide scientific basis for the formulation of policies and intervention strategies for the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases. It is of urgent practical significance to improve the quality of life of the elderly and reduce the social medical burden. Analysis of the data indicated that after 1 year of continuous exercise intervention, the experimental group’s blood pressure was controlled at a normal level in nearly 2 months [90 ~ 140mmHg/100 ~ 160mmHg(SBP/DBP)]. The results showed that moderate physical activity can reduce stress and help control blood pressure in patients with high blood pressure. After 1 year of targeted exercise intervention, the experimental group significantly improved fasting blood glucose (controlled under 7.2mmol/liter) in nearly 2 months after the second questionnaire survey. After the exercise, the blood glucose was controlled within the normal range and gradually increased. After one year of exercise intervention, the blood lipid index of the experimental group was significantly different from that of the control group, indicating that physical exercise has a positive effect on the elderly with hyperlipemia.

ОЦЕНКА РИСКА, СВЯЗАННОГО С ВОЗДЕЙСТВИЕМ ПОВЕДЕНЧЕСКИХ ФАКТОРОВ НА ЗДОРОВЬЕ РАБОТАЮЩЕГО НАСЕЛЕНИЯ РОССИИ

The characteristic of prevalence of main behavioral health risk factors among working population of Russia is made on the results of The Russia Longitudinal Monitoring Survey (RLMS-HSE, 2016). The correlation between eating disorders, self-rated health and the probability of chronic diseases is revealed. It is proved, that risk of chronic lower respiratory diseases and hypertensive diseases is higher in the group of respondents with the low physical activity. Active smoking and alcohol consumption are not straightly connected with the self-rated health. At the same time consumption of alcoholic beverages increases probability of chronic heart diseases, chronic liver diseases and arterial hypertension; smoking increases the probability of chronic bronchopulmonary diseases.

Leukemia and cardiovascular diseases in the Techa river cohort: New interpretation required

The relatively large discharges of radioactive materials into the Techa River in the Southern Urals occurred between the years 1949 and 1956. The most exposed individuals were residents of villages along the river. On the author’s opinion, certain studies tended to exaggerate the relationship between the radiation exposure and enhanced risks e.g. of cardiovascular diseases or leukemia in the Techa River cohort. The study on the cardiovascular diseases was commented previously. The cohort members must have been generally aware of their dose estimates calculated on the basis of their age and residence history. Individuals with higher dose estimates were probably on average more motivated to undergo medical examinations, being at the same time given on average more attention. Accordingly, a detection probability of chronic disease would be probably higher in people with higher dose estimates. One of the mechanisms explaining for correlations between the low-dose radiation exposure and health risks is apparently a dose-dependent difference in the quality and frequency of medical examinations. The dose-effect relationships after low-dose exposures should be studied in animal experiments with exactly known doses and dose rates, possibly shielded from biases and confounding factors.
