The integration of the college student financial aid system and ideological and political education is an important measure to implement the fundamental task of moral education, and also the core path to enhance the educational value of the financial aid work. At present, there are some practical difficulties in the process of integration between the two, such as a lack of coordination of objectives, poor connection of content, a single and fixed state of carrier presentation, and a lack of a mechanism for guarantee. Building upon these foundations, this paper explores practical pathways through four dimensions: precise alignment of integration objectives, deepening content system coherence, innovative implementation of integration practices, and enhanced collaborative support mechanisms. These efforts aim to synchronize funding-based education with ideological-political education, ultimately empowering the cultivation of new-era talents capable of shouldering the monumental responsibility of national rejuvenation.

TRACING POLISH EMIGRATION IN BRAZIL: CAUSES AND SIGNIFICANCE OF RESEARCH ON THE BRAZILIAN POLISH-LANGUAGE PRESS The analysis of the research on Polish linguistic traces in Brazil reveals a predominance of studies focused on spoken Polish in Brazil. In contrast, Brazilian polonica, both in terms of their content and linguistic form, remain a less explored research area. The linguistic and cultural material found in over a hundred periodicals published in Polish in the late 19th and 20th centuries represents a largely unexplored source of knowledge about the history of Polish immigrants and their descendants in Brazil. Press materials can serve as a valuable resource for studying both the linguistic practices of Polish immigrants on various levels and their language ideologies and beliefs. The aim of this article is to preliminarily define the object of research along with an explanation of the rationale that prompted us to take up the subject of the Polish press in Brazil. Its overview will be preceded by a discussion of the state of research and presentation of the literature on the subject.

Wide range of disorders fall into the intersection between Psychiatry and Neurology. Movement Disorders namely dystonia, chorea, tics, tremors and myoclonus often raise dilemma between coarse brain pathology and functional disorder. Faciobrachial Dystonia due to autoimmune encephalitis presents with dystonic movements of face and arm; memory impairment and psychiatric symptoms which may create uncertainty between the diagnosis of neurologic disorder and psychogenic movement disorder. This is a case of a middle-aged lady who presented in the chamber of a psychiatrist with irrelevant speech, jerky movement of right side of face and hand and forgetfulness of recent events. MMSE score at the presentation were 20. Her symptoms were not responsive to conventional anti-epileptic, anxiolytic or sedative-hypnotics. Thus, she was advised an MRI on the basis of which she was referred to a neurologist. On the basis of clinical presentation, physical and mental state examination and laboratory investigation, the lady has been diagnosed as a case of Faciobrachial Dystonia due to anti LGI 1 autoimmune encephalitis. She was given Methyl Prednisolone 1 gm daily for 5 days followed by oral methyl Prednisolone and rapid tapering within 1 month. Following high dose steroid treatment, the frequency of her dystonic movements improved robustly. Psychiatrists are often the first point of contact for the patients with movement disorder. Knowledge and skills for early diagnosis and timely referral makes the care more comprehensive for the patients. Moreover, they can collaborate with neurologists and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated, multidisciplinary care that addresses both the physical and mental health needs of the patients. Introduction: Patients in paediatric age group in a routine otorhinolaryngology outpatient department present with varied complaints of foreign body insertion. They can be sometimes simple to remove but at many instances produce tricky surgical challenges to safely remove the foreign body. The evaluation of the psychosocial behaviour of patients presenting with foreign bodies in the ear, nose, and throat aims to develop a protocol based on a scoring system for their removal. Methods: Emergency department data from September 2021 to August 2024 was analysed retrospectively. A group of 217 patients below 15years of age who presented with foreign bodies of ear, nose and throat were included for study. Their biological data, psychosocial state, type and location of foreign body, presentation, associated complication and methodology for removal and postoperative management were obtained. Results: The patients in early childhood (1-5 yrs) had maximum number of foreign bodies (131, 60.36%). The foreign bodies were mostly located in ears (57.14%), nose (19.35%), oropharynx (13.82%), oesophagus (8.75%) and bronchus (0.92%) sequentially according to numbers. Conclusion: This study highlights the prevalence and distribution of foreign bodies in paediatric patients with their psychological state, particularly in early childhood. It also proposes a novel scoring system to aid in the effective planning and management of foreign body retrieval in emergency settings.

BackgroundMany older adults experience disabling back and leg pain. This study aimed to identify factors associated with back pain causing severe interference with daily activities over 2 years.MethodsParticipants were 2,109 community-dwelling adults (aged 65–100 years; mean age 74.2 (SD 6.3)) enrolled in a prospective cohort study who reported back pain at baseline and provided back pain data at 2 years follow-up. Baseline data included demographics, socio-economic factors, back pain presentation and age-associated adverse health states (e.g. frailty, falls, walking confidence). At 2 years follow-up, we asked if they were currently experiencing back pain and if so, asked participants to rate how much their back pain interfered with their daily activities on a scale of 0–10. Severe back pain interference was defined by a rating of 7 or more. The association between baseline factors and severe back pain interference at two years was assessed using logistic regression models.ResultsAt two years, 77% of participants (1,611/2,109) still reported back pain, 25% (544/2,083) also reported leg pain and 14% (227/1,611) reported severe back pain interference with activities. Improvements in symptoms were observed over the two years follow-up in 880/2,109 participants (41.7%), 41.2% (869/2,109) of participants report no change and worsening symptoms was reported by 17.1% (360/2109) of participants. After adjusting for back pain troublesomeness at baseline, factors associated with reporting severe interference were adequacy of income (careful with money [OR 1.91; 95% CI 1.19–3.06]; prefer not to say [OR 2.22; 95% CI 1.11–4.43]), low endorsement of exercise in later life (OR 1.18; 95% CI 1.02–1.37), neurogenic claudication symptoms (OR 1.68 (95% CI 1.15–2.46)], multisite pain (OR 1.13; 95% CI 1.02–1.24) and low walking confidence (OR 1.15; 95% CI 1.08–1.22).ConclusionAfter adjusting for baseline pain severity, we identified five factors that were associated with severe pain limitation at two years follow-up among a cohort of community dwelling older people reporting back and leg pain. These included other pain characteristics, walking confidence and attitude to activity in later life. We also identified a socioeconomic factor (perceived adequacy of income). Future research should focus on whether identifying individuals using these risk factors in order to intervene improves back pain outcomes for older people.

Abstract Disclosure: J. Case: None. R.V. Chemitiganti: None. D. Suravajjala: None. Autoimmune thyroid disease comprises both hyper- and hypothyroid states including Graves' disease and Hashimoto's thyroiditis, respectively. The predominant antibody activity, demonstrable by thyrotropin receptor antibody, predicts the clinical presentation and treatment; thyrotropin receptor antibodies may act as a stimulatory or inhibitory stimulus upon the thyroid gland recognized as thyroid stimulating antibody(TSAb) and thyroid blocking antibody(TBAb). Rarely patients may transition from a hyperthyroid to a hypothyroid state and vice versa if the predominant antibody activity shifts which may occur due to a variety of mechanisms and characteristics related to each individual patient and treatment course. A 29 year old female presented to establish care for autoimmune thyroiditis. She was diagnosed with Graves' disease at age 19 when pregnant and treated with propylthiouracil; she switched to methimazole for the next six years when her thyroid function normalized and therapy discontinued. Two years later she became concerned with weight gain and her thyroid function was reevaluated demonstrating hypothyroidism and she was treated with levothyroxine 25mcg daily until presentation. Further labwork revealed undetectable TSI, and TPO antibody elevated at 177 u/mL. She became clinically and biochemically euthyroid on levothyroxine 50mcg daily. Switching between hyper- and hypothyroid states is a rare occurrence among patients with may attributable factors. Both antithyroid drugs including methimazole as well as replacement therapy with levothyroxine may alter the antibody milieu and so the predominant ratio and activity among TSAb and TBAb thereby leading to a shift in clinical presentation and thyroid state. Pregnancy may lead to hemodilution contributing to lessening of autoimmune activity which may return following delivery leading typically to a shift from TSAb to TBAb. Uncontrolled hyper- and hypothyroidism may affect dendritic activity leading to altered presentation and increased immune reactivity. The unlikely occurrence of switching from a hyperthyroid to a hypothyroid state based upon autoimmunity as in this patient was likely affected these factors. Recognition of this potential transition and associated factors would lead to beneficial monitoring and possibly development of assays more attuned to this phenomenon with better capability in maintaining a euthyroid state and potentially predicting a transition. The article is devoted to the influence that concept of state has upon understanding of state interest in structural realism. Turns out that state interest in structural realism is imposed upon state by the very structure of international system, which may be one of key factors in normative turn of structural realism. We claim that it is only possible because structural realism tries to ignore inner structure of the state or present it as “contingent” factors “outside the system”. Presenting state as an “individual” allows to ignore its de facto interests and present structure-formed interests as objective and desirable ones. The claim that the structure-imposed interests are the only authentic and important ones in international relations transforms structural realism into normative theory that demands the states to act uniformly according to these interests. The main danger is that structural realism has potential to raise distrust among states, while removing responsibility from statesmen, who are fulfilling “objective” interests in their states.

Abstract: All the standard anti-tubercular drugs, well established as standard therapy, are preferentially available in formulations compliant with the young adult population. However, their use in the paediatric and geriatric populations is confronted with issues, such as a high likelihood of incorrect dose administration due to practices like dosage form fracture and splitting. This may lead to drug resistance due to misuse and in-accurate dosage administration, the most dreaded and difficult-to-treat stage of tuberculosis. : Poor patient compliance and adherence are major issues with the conventional line of therapy. This burden may be more significant in resource-constrained settings, necessitating the creation of simple formulations that are both geriatric and child-friendly. An extensive literature survey has been conducted in this study using databases of Google Scholar, PubMed, and Research Gate, with a focus on specific research works on oro-dispersible films, tablets, and wafer technology loaded with anti-tuberculosis drugs from 2022 to 2010. : Mouth dissolving formulation technology is a very novel approach in the arena of tuberculosis therapy. This may pave the way for future researchers to develop different mouth dissolving formulations to treat both pulmonary and extra-tuberculosis. This review paper has summarized all the formulation approaches alongside the present state of the art in tuberculosis therapy using mouth dissolving formulations.
