Objectivesto report clinical and therapeutic aspects of Peyronie's disease (PD). Materials and Methodsthe study is a retrospective descriptive study from a single center in which 17 cases of PD were identified in a urology department in Senegal between January and December 2012. Several parameters were studied such as patient's age, reason for consultation, delay in presentation, fibrotic plaques features, degree of deformity, treatment and outcomes. Resultsmean age was 58,2 years (33 to 80 years). Penile curvature was the most observed complaint (13 patients), in 4 patients it was the only symptom. Penile pain was observed in 4 patients and erectile dysfunction in 7 patients. Mean delay in presentation was 21,2 months (1 to 72 months). Mean diameter of fibrotic plates was 2,8 cm (0,5 to 7,5 cm). Average degree of penile curvature was 31,6 (0 to 95). Nine patients were treated with vitamin E and intralesional corticosteroid injections. It was effective in three patients seen during the inflammatory phase. A satisfactory straightening of the penis by plication of the tunica albuginea of the corpora cavernosa according to Nesbit was performed in 5 patients undergoing sequelae. Three patients could not be operated. ConclusionThe PD has a low prevalence and most patients consult in the phase of sequelae. Medical treatment is effective in the inflammatory phase and surgery can resolve the penile deformity.
