Currently, research in pediatric dental education is relatively scattered and lacks systematic integration. This study aimed to analyze the status and dynamics of pediatric dental education using bibliometric methods. Publications from 1988 to 2024 were searched in the PubMed database. Two investigators screened and identified articles for further study based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria. VOSviewer and CiteSpace were used to analyze and visualize the bibliometric networks. A total of 342 articles were included in the bibliometric analysis. The United States published the largest number of articles. The Journal of Dental Education (n=85), Pediatric Dentistry (n=74), and European Journal of Dental Education (n=25) were the top three journals according to the number of publications. Most literature focused on the postgraduate education (47.66%) and undergraduate education (30.99%) in pediatric dental education. The two most repeatedly used keywords were "pediatric dentistry" and "dental education." Research hot topics in the field of pediatric dental education have focused on "competency-based education," "clinical education," and "advanced dental education." Based on bibliometric mapping from 1988 to 2024, this study provides a relatively comprehensive overview of the global landscape of pediatric dental education, highlighting publication trends, influential contributors, and evolving research themes. The analysis reveals the research hotspots of pediatric dental education focused on competency-based education, clinical training, and advanced dental education, reflecting the discipline's movement toward more diversified and technology-enhanced teaching models. The authors have confirmed clinical trial registration is not needed for this submission.

Social media analysts (SMAs) on venues such as Seeking Alpha have become an important information intermediary for retail investors, particularly for smaller firms that receive limited attention from traditional channels. This study examines the effects of the wider tick size on social media analyst coverage in the U.S. capital market. Using the SEC’s 2016–2018 Tick Size Pilot Program as a quasi-natural experiment and a difference-in-differences design on approximately 2400 small-cap stocks, we find that wider tick size leads to a significant decline in the number of articles and unique contributors for treated firms. This effect is particularly strong for stocks with initially narrow bid–ask spreads. Furthermore, we find no significant change in the sentiment and quality of SMAs’ reports, indicating that the decrease in coverage is primarily driven by liquidity considerations rather than fundamental changes in the firms. These results imply that market microstructure reforms can inadvertently weaken the retail investor information ecosystem by discouraging independent research production.

With limited existing synthesis on victimization among Latina sexual and gender minorities (SGMs), this scoping review analyzes the prevalence and impacts of victimization on Latina SGMs in the US, an under-studied topic. A comprehensive literature search and review was conducted between late February and late May 2024. Articles were included if they (a) had disaggregated Latina SGM samples in the US, (b) studied victimization, (c) were empirical, and (d) were written in English or Spanish. This review contains 26 articles grouped into three main topics: the prevalence of victimization among Latina SGMs, intra- and inter-racial comparisons of Latina SGMs' victimization, and the contributing factors and consequences of victimization among Latina SGMs. The majority of studies relied on community samples for prevalence estimates, yielding a wide range. Latina SGMs consistently reported a higher prevalence of victimization than heterosexual individuals, regardless of racial/ethnic identities, but did not always report a higher prevalence compared to SGMs in other racial groups. Mental health issues were common consequences of victimization, with a small number of articles revealing post-victimization resilience. Future research should rely on validated measures of victimization, utilize longitudinal study designs with victimization in early childhood, and collect information regarding Latina SGMs' other social identities to better understand the long-term impacts of victimization on Latina SGMs through an intersectional lens. There is a need for more research, policy, and practice regarding culturally responsive programs for Latina SGMs with victimization experiences.

ABSTRACT This study analyzed the annual change in four journal citation metrics, scholarly subject categories, subcategories, and primary research topics assigned to MPEES by seven bibliometric databases over the last 25 years. All journal metrics consistently show 14 to 25 years of improvement in the scholarly influence and disciplinary contributions. Journal influence has advanced so that 2024 usage metrics are at or above median values for kinesiology-related journals, despite the modest number of articles published by MPEES. MPEES journal prestige metrics remain lower than median values relative to Kinesiology-related subject categories. MPEES is reaching a level where journal citation metrics may be attractive to authors for submission of articles in expectation of a Matthew Effect advantage with publication. The subject categories assigned to the journal vary according to database service but indicate MPEES made consistent contributions to the scholarly literature in medicine, health sciences and professions, physical education, sport and exercise sciences.

Mixed-methods research (MMR) intentionally combines (variously) theories, study designs, data collection, analyses and/or syntheses associated with more than one approach to research. Despite a rich literature on the theory and practice of MMR, the authors were concerned that much MMR in medical education fell short of the state of the art. To substantiate the problem, the authors conducted a meta-study to explore the strengths and weaknesses of MMR in medical education and to propose a framework to improve the conduct and reporting of this research design. Structured searches were conducted, and returns were filtered based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, establishing a corpus of 1070 articles. A series of purposive samples was taken from this corpus and put through full data extraction. The findings from these extractions were synthesized using descriptive statistics and a dialogical identification of core issues of concern. Descriptive statistics were produced for the full corpus, after which a series of samples led to 547 (51%) articles undergoing full data extraction. There was a significant increase in the number of articles reporting the use of MMR in the last 20 years. Several recurring issues were identified including a lack of theoretical and conceptual grounding in MMR, a lack of diversity in what constitutes MMR, questionable component rigour, a lack of integration (mixing), a tension between MMR as more than one thing and MMR as a methodology in its own right, and very little adaptation and innovation in MMR approaches. These issues had not improved over time. Major gaps in how MMR was justified and used were found. Integration, central to MMR, was notably lacking. Thus, the authors propose a checklist to help researchers and reviewers ensure that future use of MMR in medical education is more rigorous, transparent, complete and accurate.

Purpose This study aims to critically synthesize state of the art greenwashing research in the tourism and hospitality (T&H) literature, thereby explicitly addressing the current theoretical and methodological fragmentation in this sector. Design/methodology/approach Adopting a two-stage hybrid approach, this study first employs a bibliometric analysis (N = 53) to map the field’s intellectual structure. Second, it conducts an in-depth content analysis (systematic review) of ten empirical research articles from the Web of Science and Scopus databases to dissect their theoretical foundations. Findings The field of research is still nascent and fragmented, lacking a unified definition and showing significant theoretical imbalances. It focuses overwhelmingly on consumers while neglecting the firm level, especially with regard to the decision-making process. At the same time, the existing articles are also geographically imbalanced. Finally, the fact that only ten empirical articles could be identified highlights the rudimentary state of empirical research on greenwashing in the T&H industry. Research limitations/implications Although the study used only Web of Science (WOS) and Scopus, limited the selection to English-language articles and had a relatively small number of empirical articles (n = 10), this could affect the study’s comprehensiveness. Despite this limitation, the study also reveals valuable insights into the fragmentation of the greenwashing concept and new research trends, providing a solid foundation and driving further academic discourse in the T&H sector. Managers need to prioritize consistency between words and actions, building customer trust through genuine, sustainable practices to address skepticism, attract visitors and gain a competitive edge in the T&H industry. Originality/value This study provides the first critical synthesis of greenwashing literature. Unlike previous reviews (which focused on consumers), this article goes beyond simple cataloging to explicitly deconstruct the field’s theoretical imbalance by identifying firm-level dynamics as a significant gap, thereby providing a new, grounded research agenda.

Uterine leiomyoma (Fibroids) that occurs in pregnant women, on occasion, undergoes degeneration and causes sharp pain. Analgesics and a number of home remedies, including local soothing measures, are the recommended form of treatment. Surgery is generally avoided. However, for those women, the pain is persistent, and surgical removal is the only option. We reported a Case of a pregnant woman who presented at thirteen weeks’ gestation with abdominal pain due to a degenerative fibroid. She was initially managed with analgesics and some home measures. The pain persisted, and thus, resorted to surgical management at the fifteenth week of gestation. Three leiomyomas were removed. All showed degenerative changes. The blood loss was 100 ml. This is the third case we performed, all with satisfactory outcomes. The pregnancy is progressing well now at thirty weeks of gestation. We also analyze literature reviews involving a significant number of articles and cases. All these revealed a similar pattern in the presentation, surgical management, and histology reports. Complications were minimal. No maternal death was reported. Pregnancy outcome was satisfactory. Therefore, myomectomy in pregnancy should become a routine form of management in cases that present with the complication of pain, not relieved by analgesics and other measures.

- Aleksei Kelli
Dear reader, Since its establishment, Juridica International has served as a distinctive forum for scholarly engagement with Estonian law in a broader European and international context. Originating as an international counterpart to the Estonian-language Juridica, the journal’s mission has undergone considerable evolution. Today, Juridica International is a well-established peer-reviewed law journal that combines rigorous doctrinal analysis with openness to comparative, interdisciplinary, and forward-looking legal research. At the same time, it continues to fulfil its core function: providing analytically grounded insight into developments within the Estonian legal order for an international readership. This dual orientation is closely linked to the role of the Faculty of Law of the University of Tartu. As the leading centre of legal scholarship in Estonia, the Faculty has long shaped national legal discourse through research, teaching, and engagement with legal practice. Juridica International forms an integral part of this institutional framework. It offers a platform where debates on Estonian law are articulated in a manner that meets international academic standards and invites dialogue beyond national borders. In this sense, the journal not only reflects legal developments but actively contributes to the formation and critical assessment of Estonian law within the wider European legal space. The present volume continues this established direction. The contributions span a broad range of legal fields and approaches, yet several thematic clusters emerge. A number of articles address questions of private law and procedural justice, focusing on principles such as good faith, efficiency, and legal certainty, while examining the evolving balance between party autonomy and the court’s role in civil proceedings. Another group of contributions engages with public law and regulatory frameworks, particularly where national legislation intersects with European Union law. Public procurement serves as a focal point in this respect, highlighting the tensions between discretion, proportionality, and regulatory constraints in the national implementation of EU directives, as well as the practical consequences of legislative design choices. Technological development and digitalisation constitute a further prominent theme. Several articles analyse how artificial intelligence, digital procedures, and technology-driven transactions challenge established legal concepts. These contributions critically assess whether existing liability, insurance, and intellectual property frameworks remain adequate in an increasingly automated and data-driven environment. Issues of criminal law and human rights also feature prominently. Questions concerning punishment, detention, and state power are examined in light of constitutional guarantees and international legal standards, highlighting the interaction between security considerations, human dignity, and the limits of lawful state intervention.Taken together, the articles in this volume demonstrate Juridica International’s continued commitment to analytical depth, doctrinal precision, and critical inquiry. They illustrate how Estonian legal scholarship engages simultaneously with domestic legal challenges and broader European and international debates. Juridica International thus remains a key forum through which the Faculty of Law of the University of Tartu upholds and advances informed, internationally relevant discussion of Estonian law, while contributing meaningfully to global legal scholarship.
