Analyzing the Characteristics and Uniqueness of Tafsir Al-Ibriz by KH. Bisri Mustofa

This study aim to explores the characteristics and uniqueness of Tafsir Al-Ibriz, authored by KH. Bisri Mustofa, a prominent figure in the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) tradition. Tafsir Al-Ibriz stands out in the landscape of Quranic exegesis in Indonesia due to its distinctive approach and methodology. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, this research delves into the interpretive methods, theological perspectives, and socio-cultural impacts of this tafsir. The findings indicate that Tafsir Al-Ibriz combines textual and contextual interpretation with a distinctive mystical and philosophical nuance, reflecting KH. Bisri Mustofa's unique perspective in understanding the messages of the Quran. Additionally, the tafsir demonstrates the influence of Sufi teachings in interpreting Quranic verses. Other unique characteristics of Tafsir Al-Ibriz include its emphasis on cultural preaching, particularly to the NU community, the use of Javanese language hierarchy known for its politeness (unggah-ungguh), the pesantren-specific style of translating Arabic texts, an objective interpretation of jihad devoid of political bias, adherence to the Shafi'i school of jurisprudence, and a mystical yet scientific approach. The theoretical implications of this research provide new insights into the diversity of interpretative approaches to the Quran in the Islamic world, highlighting the spiritual and philosophical dimensions presented by Tafsir Al-Ibriz. These findings also contribute to our understanding of the role of Sufism in the Islamic exegesis tradition and how theological thought can influence Quranic interpretation. This study aims to lay the groundwork for further research on classical and contemporary tafsir works, as well as deepen the relevance of Sufi thought in contemporary Quranic understanding.

Understanding the Strengthening Cultural-Cosmopolitanism Spirit of Nahdlatul Ulama

The foundations of Islamic philosophy and faith, which go beyond the two primary sources of the Qur'an and Hadith and emphasize the value of Sunni tradition and ijma (ulama consensus), are fundamental to traditional-cultural identity of Nahdlatul Ulama's (NU). In addition, NU is renowned for having adapted the ideas of Abu Al-Hasan Al-Asy'ari, Abu Mansur al-Maturidi, Abu Hamid al-Ghazali, and Junayd Al-Baghdadi, as well as in terms of fiqh, or legal practice, mainly referring to Imam al-Shafi'i, representing Islamic conservatism and cultural traditionalism. This cultural traditionalism initially appears to run counter to the notion of NU's cosmopolitanism advanced by a number of its key figures, in particular Gus Dur. This cosmopolitan notion assumes a contemporary, inclusive belief structure and the segregation of religion from public life. Therefore, it is crucial to consider how the traditionalist-cultural movement founded by NU can coexist with a discourse on world beliefs that is becoming more cosmopolitan and assumes a space that is more open to all peoples. This article focuses on the discourse of cosmopolitanism and how NU, as one of the largest mass organizations in Indonesia, responds to this discourse with its approach and cultural background.

Pengaruh Pondok Pesantren Terhadap Penanaman Profil Pelajar Pancasila Dalam Kurikulum Merdeka Siswa SD

Fatimatu Zahroh, The Effect of Islamic Boarding Schools on the Planting of Pancasila Student Profiles in Archery Elementary School Students' Independent Curriculum. Yogyakarta: PGSD FIP Study Program, Nahdlatul Ulama University,Yogyakarta,2023. This study aims to determine whether Islamic boarding schools influence the cultivation of Pancasila student profiles in the independent curriculum of SDNU Pemanahan students. The research method used is quantitative research using survey techniques. The population in this study were grade I and grade IV SDNU Pemanahan students who had used the independent curriculum in learning. The research sample of 60 students was taken from class I and class IV who had used the independent curriculum in learning. The data collection technique used in this research is using a questionnaire. Test the instrument's validity using the Product Moment correlation formula from Pearson, while the reliability test uses the Alpha Cronbach formula. Data analysis techniques include descriptive analysis, and analysis prerequisite tests, namely the normality test and linearity test, hypothesis testing is carried out using a simple analysis technique with the Product Moment correlation formula. The research was conducted from February to May 2023 at Pemanahan Elementary School. The subjects this study included teachers and students of class I and IV SDNU Pemanahan. The results of this study indicate that there is a positive and significant influence between Islamic boarding schools and the planting of Pancasila student profiles in the independent curriculum of SDNU Pemanahan students as evidenced by the r-value of 0.542 which means there is a positive relationship because there is no negative sign, then the recount value of 0.542 is greater than the rateable value of 0.254 indicating that there is a significant relationship. The relationship between Islamic boarding schools and the profile of Pancasila students in this study has a coefficient of determination of 0.294 or 29.4%. That is, the variance that occurs in the profile of Pancasila students is determined by Islamic boarding schools at 29.4%. From the results of the study, the hypothesis which states that there is a relationship between Islamic boarding schools and the profile of Pancasila students at SDNU Pemanahan students is accepted.

Philanthropic Epistemology of the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) Coin Movement in Indonesia

Nadlatul Ulama (NU) is the largest Islamic organization in Indonesia. This organization is known as a traditionalist Islamic group whose members are from rural communities. Even though it is a traditionalist Islamic organization, it turns out that NU has philanthropic activities that have a wide impact through the NU Coin Movement. This article focuses on two questions, namely the function and foundation of the NU Coin Movement. This question is important to answer to find the direction of development of the philanthropic movement carried out by NU. This qualitative research uses literature data related to NU's philanthropic activities, especially the Kon Movement. Data is collected through documentation. After verification, the data is analyzed and conclusions are drawn using the interactive cycle pattern developed by Miles and Huberman. This research concludes two things.First,The Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) coin movement functions as a means of channeling an attitude of generosity to its followers, who on average belong to the lower middle economic community in Indonesia. Second, the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) coin movement is based on three foundations at once, namely religious, philosophical and socio-cultural foundations

Collaborative Governance Analysis in the Implementation of ``Elderly Friendly Hajj'' Policy in Indonesia

According to Siskohat data, a 30% of elderly Hajj pilgrims were predicted in 2023. Meanwhile, pilgrims with high health risks were predicted to be 73%.This number is the highest in the last five years. In organizing the Hajj pilgrimage, the Ministry of Religion collaborates with various parties. Collaborative governance is a process that involves various relevant stakeholders to promote the interests of each agency in achieving common goals. This study aims to examine how the collaborative governance was formed to implement Elderly Friendly Hajj policy. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. The results of this study is the formations of Ministry of Religion involving several parties in the mechanism of collaborative governance, such as Nahdlatul Ulama and Muhammadiyah through its Hajj and Umrah Guidance Group (KBIHU), also building partnership with the Indonesian Hajj Brotherhood Association (IPHI), and Indonesian Hajj Officer Alumni Communication Forum (FKAPHI). The success of collaborative governance is supported by system context, drivers, and collaborative dynamics among the parties.

Wacana Dinamis Nahdlatul Ulama: Analisis Kritis terhadap Perubahan Sosial

This research presents critical study of Nahdlatul Ulama’s dynamic discourse on social change. The background of this study is rooted in the significant role of NU in the history of Indonesia, particularly in the realm of cultural and religious ideologies. The research methodology employed encompasses a combination of qualitative approaches and document analysis to attain a comprehensive and profound comprehension, to understand how the NU tradition is integrated into moderate thinking and the extent to which the transformation of such thinking can act as a catalyst for societal progress. The theoretical framework of this research encompasses a profound understanding of the traditional values of NU, the concept of moderation as the cornerstone of thinking, and how thinking evolves in the face of contemporary challenges. The results of the analysis indicate that NU traditions not only persist in everyday life but are also effectively assimilated into the modern context. Moderation, as a pivotal aspect of NU thought, emerges as a crucial component in promoting interreligious dialogue and contributing to political stability. The transformation of NU's thinking is evident in its response to advancements in technology and science. Although NU thinking encounters challenges, particularly in preserving cultural heritage, this study underscores the opportunities for the development of NU thinking in the future. The conclusions of this study offer a critical evaluation of NU's impact on societal change and emphasize the significance of comprehending and permeating traditional values while remaining relevant in the face of evolving times. The implications of this research hold valuable insights for academics, practitioners, and policymakers in supporting the positive development of a society founded on the moderate values of NU.

Pengembangan Moderasi Beragama Bagi Pengajar TPA Dan Takmir Masjid Di Desa Lemahbang Kecamatan Jumapolo Kabupaten Karanganyar

The aim of this service is to increase religious moderation for teachers at the Al-Qur'an Education Park and Mosque Takmir in Lemahbang village, Jumapolo sub-district, Karanganyar district so that in carrying out their social activities they can provide coolness and provide a message of peace, especially for the children of the Al-Qur'an Education Park and the community. common for the Takmir of the Mosque. This service was carried out with consideration because Lemahbang village consists of many mass organizations, including Muhammadiyah, Nahdlatul Ulama, Al-Qur'an Tafsir Council, Indonesian Da'wah Council Institute and others. This service activity was carried out in Lemahbang village, Jumapolo subdistrict, Karanganyar district in February 2023. Lemahbang subdistrict consists of 20 RTs and 8 RWs and there are 8 villages in it. This activity involved Al-Qur'an Education Park teachers and mosque Takmirs throughout Lemahbang village which was carried out through three phases, namely preparation, implementation and evaluation. This religious moderation service activity is based on 4 things, namely tolerance, accommodating local culture, national commitment and non-violence. The results of this service show that the four things that underlie religious moderation are implemented well by the teachers at the Al-Qur'an Education Park and Takmir mosque in Lemahbang village. This happens because of their commitment to maintaining the calm of Lemahbang village where they live.

Dinamika Konsumen Islami : Mempertimbangkan Peran Celebrity Endorser, Social Media Marketing dan Product Variation Terhadap Minat Beli Local Brand Ventela Pada Mahasiswa FEB Universitas Islam Nahdlatul Ulama Jepara

The study aims to identify patterns of Islamic consumer response to the role of celebrity endorsers, social media marketing, and product variations that influence ventela buying interest at the Faculties of Economics and Business, Islamic University Nahdlatul Ulama Jepara. This research is quantitative. The data analysis method used in this study is linear regression analysis with the help of SPSS 22. The tests used in the study are instrumental test, classical assumption test and hypothesis test. In this study, there are 94 samples. The data used are primary data obtained through the spread of questionnaires. The results show that partly celebrity endorsers have a positive but not significant influence on purchase interest, social media marketing has a positive and significant impact on purchase interest, and product variation has a significant and positive impact on purchase interest. Simultaneously, celebrity endorser variables, social media marketing and product variation have a positive and significant influence on purchasing interest.

Transforming of Moderate Character Education in Islamic Educational Institutions

The study focuses on moderate character education in Islamic educational institutions, especially those based on Islamic organizations such as Nahdlatul Ulama, Muhammadiyah, and Syarikat Islam. The study aims to reveal the moderate values of Islamic education institutions and their implementation in educational activities. The research uses a qualitative multisite approach, with data collection techniques through field observations, interviews, and documentation. This study includes Islamic educational institutions based on religious organizations, namely Nahdlatul Ulama, Muhammadiyah, and Syarikat Islam. Research locations are 1) Education and Social Foundation, Khadijah High School, East Java, as an Islamic educational institution based in Nahdlatul Ulama; 2) Muhammadiyah Boarding School, Yogyakarta; and 3) Cokroaminoto School, Surakarta, Central Java. The researchers performed data analysis using modified analytic induction analysis. Data analysis follows the stages of condensation, data display, verification, and conclusion. The results of this study show that each educational institution has moderate character values: 1) tawasuth; 2) tawazun; and 3) ta'addul/I'tidal. These values are embodied in learning to form a moderate Muslim character and become the mercy to the whole world (rahmatan lil alamin).

Peningkatkan Pemahaman dan Minat Siswa SMKN 1 Kalinyamatan Jepara pada Internet of Things (IoT): Pelatihan dalam rangka Perayaan Dies Natalis Teknik Elektro UNISNU Jepara

In the context of community engagement, the Student Association of the Electrical Engineering Program (HMPSTE) at Nahdlatul Ulama Islamic University (UNISNU) Jepara conducted an Internet of Things (IoT) training as part of the celebration of the Dies Natalis of the Electrical Engineering Department at UNISNU. The main issue addressed was enhancing the understanding of students from SMKN 1 Kalinyamatan Jepara regarding the concepts and applications of IoT in daily life. The method employed involved a practical and interactive approach, with direct instruction by Ahmad Faidlon a lecturer in Electrical Engineering at UNISNU Jepara with expertise in IoT. The material was presented in an easily understandable language, providing fundamental knowledge about IoT, its principles, and examples of its implementation in various fields. Interactive strategies included Q&A sessions and direct discussions between students and the speaker. The results of the community engagement encompassed an improved understanding of IoT technology among students and a heightened interest in the field. Muhammad Wildan Aufal Addiyan, Chairman of HMPSTE UNISNU Jepara, expressed satisfaction with the success of the training, hoping it would motivate and provide new insights to students regarding the latest technological developments. A participant in the training also expressed gratitude, stating joy over the clarity and attractiveness of the material presented. Through this training, HMPSTE UNISNU Jepara contributed to the development of technological knowledge among students at SMKN 1 Kalinyamatan Jepara, creating a positive moment in the celebration of the Dies Natalis of the Electrical Engineering Department at UNISNU, and strengthening the bond between students and the community.

Difference Of Community Assessment and Perception Marketing Mix (7P) on Service Satisfaction in UNISMA Hospital Malang

Globalization has a big impact on the development of the business world and opportunities for institutions engaged in services. Hospitals are required to find new marketing ideas/strategies in maintaining their existence and improving the quality of services for the creation of patient satisfaction. The lack of promotion of superior hospital products (50%) and the low results of patient satisfaction surveys for services (30%) indicate the need to improve aspects of the marketing mix at Unisma Hospital in Malang. This study aims to analyze public perceptions of the marketing mix (7P) in service satisfaction at Unisma Malang Hospital. This study is in the form of a survey (cross sectional study approach) with 85 respondents selected using the accidental sampling method. The data collection method was carried out through interviews and using a service satisfaction questionnaire containing a marketing mix (7P) component. The results showed that of the 7 aspects of marketing mix there were 2 dominant aspects and there was a need for improvement, namely the promotion aspect where 41 chose the lack of activities made by RSI Unisma as the promotion of RSI Unisma and the process aspect where as many as 54 chose the lack of speed and accuracy of the service. Therefore, based on these problems, it is necessary to improve the hospital marketing strategy and improve the quality of service. The solution to this problem is to promote activities that are under the auspices of the Nahdlatul Ulama as an effort to promote and review services, processes and procedures.

Gus Dur’s Enduring Legacy: Accruing Religious Merit in the Afterlife

<p>Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur), Indonesia’s fourth president (1999–2001) and leader of the traditionalist Islamic organisation Nahdlatul Ulama (1984–1999), continues to influence Indonesia in positive and meaningful ways despite his death in 2009. He proved that Islam and a pluralistic political culture were compatible and that Indonesian Islam had a global role. His legacy continues through the Wahid Foundation, Nahdlatul Ulama, and the National Awakening Party. The Wahid Foundation operates under the directorship of his daughter, Yenny Wahid, and is dedicated to improving Islam and Indonesian society through documenting religious intolerance and injustice and by issuing recommendations. Following Nahdlatul Ulama’s National Congress in December 2021, its leadership has been dominated by Gus Dur’s allies, including his wife and four daughters, and his former presidential spokesperson Yahya Cholil Staquf, all of whom have a deep commitment to his values. Gus Dur’s former political party, the National Awakening Party, remains another institution which supports pluralism and secular inclusiveness. However, the relationship between Gus Dur’s allies and this party remains fractured, just as it was before he died. Despite an impeached presidency, a fallout with the National Awakening Party, and the considerable time that has passed since his death, he has produced an enduring legacy. Public deference to the late Gus Dur is reminiscent of the nine saints who Islamised Java half a millennia ago. This is because traditionalist Muslims believe that one’s deeds which produce on-going benefits to society will, in the afterlife, continue to accrue religious merit, and millions visit Gus Dur’s grave every year to demonstrate this.</p>

The Role of Ma'arif Nahdlatul Ulama Educational Institutions in the Development of Islamic Education in Indonesia (1926-1959)

This research aims to examine the role played by Ma'arif Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) Educational Institutions in depicting the dynamics of Islamic education development in Indonesia. The focus of this research is to analyze the contribution of these educational institutions to the evolution of the Islamic education system, both in terms of curriculum, teaching methods, and their impact on student character formation. The research method includes historical analysis discussing the history and development of Ma'arif NU Educational Institutions since their establishment. The main data sources involve historical documents, archives, and interviews with key actors in these educational institutions, such as teachers, students, and administrators. The results of this research are expected to provide a comprehensive overview of how the role of Ma'arif NU Educational Institutions has shaped and influenced the context of Islamic education in Indonesia. Additionally, this research will also discuss the challenges and opportunities faced by these educational institutions in responding to the changing times and evolving educational demands.

The Contributions of Nahdlatul Ulama to World Peace: A Taxonomy Literature Review

Entering a century after its establishment, it goes without saying that Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) has significantly contributed to World Peace through its engagements in societies, ranging from the promotion of moderate values to addressing conflicts in many countries. However, some empirical phenomena, especially when it was carried out by a faith-based entity, often get portrayed differently in academic settings. How do NU’s contributions to World Peace get incorporated into academic discourse? Using the taxonomy method, this article aims to analyze the contributions of NU to World Peace in the existing academic literature. It maps the consensus and ongoing debate on how NU exert its influence for peace and divides the literature into four taxonomical themes; (1) norm dissemination;(2) international diplomacy and peace-brokering; (3) education practices, and; (4) political practices. This paper concludes that NU’s contributions are widely recognized in academic discourse, but some gaps still need to be addressed in further research

Nahdlatul Ulama’s Domination in Madura: An Eco-Anthropological Perspective

On the basis of the ecological anthropology perspective, this study analyzes the complex relations between the environmental environment and the Muslim population in Madura so that traditionalism Islam dominates their religious culture in the Nahdlatul Ulama model. This study reveals that Islamization history in Madura, kiasi's social, religious role, and Syaichona Kholil’s figure became the three main lead factors that drive traditional religious culture in Madura, especially in Bangkalan. Two of the three factors mentioned earlier are closely related to the geographical location and ecological condition of Bangkalan.

Education for pregnant women in increasing knowledge about childbirth preparation

In Indonesia, the maternal mortality rate remains high, encompassing women's health concerns such as pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. Efforts to mitigate this rate involve the provision of quality services spanning from pregnancy to contraception. Pregnant women experience physical and emotional changes that have the potential to cause anxiety, especially before giving birth. To overcome this problem, Nahdlatul Ulama University in collaboration with RSI A. Yani, Surabaya City held community empowerment activities in the form of educational seminars that focused on preparation for childbirth for pregnant women. The main aim of this seminar is to increase participants' understanding of childbirth preparation. The methodology used included online and offline seminars attended by 20 pregnant women. Analysis of the results of the pre-test and post-test questionnaires showed that there was a significant difference in participants' knowledge regarding childbirth preparation before and after the seminar, with a p-value 0.05. This community empowerment initiative is effective in increasing seminar participants' knowledge regarding childbirth preparation.

Religious Moderation and Family Resilience in the City of Malang, Indonesia: The Historical Perspectives of the Islamic Law

Religious moderation is a moderate attitude or perspective in religion that is fair and balanced. A moderate mindset and behavior in the family is very significant for married couples to avoid things that can damage the honor and dignity of the family. The research method used is an empirical legal study with an approach to the history of Islamic law. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with a number of informants namely, academics, housewives, teachers and self-employed people. While document studies are carried out by analyzing journal articles, books and various references related to the discussion. The research found that a moderate religious perspective and attitude are critical for family life. Family resilience strategies include belief systems, organizational processes, communication processes, and problem solvers. Among the materials that are very important for strengthening religious moderation in the family are tolerance, leadership in the family, division of roles in the family, equal relations between a husband and a wife, respect for the existence and quality communication of all family members, and cultivating negotiation in decision-making, And no less important is a moderate religious understanding. In terms of the Islamic law history, several families, such as the Prophet Ibrahim’s family, the Imran family (Alu Imran), and the Prophet Muhammad PBUH, can be used as examples of cultivating the true values of monotheism, humanity, social solidarity, and even purity and self-respect. Meanwhile, in Indonesia, the family of Hadaratus Sheikh KH. Hasyim Asyari, the founder of Nahdlatul Ulama can be used as an example who gives birth to children and grandchildren and even families who have a sense of nationalism, religion, humanism, pluralism and social solidarity.

Peran KH Arsyad dalam Penyebaran Agama Islam di Menes Tahun 1916-1948

This study aims to determine role KH. Tb Arsyad spread Islam in Menes on 1915-1948. Historical methods used in research include: heuristics (data collection), source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. theory used in research is role theory by Bruce J. Biddle and Edwin J. Thomas. Results of this research conclude KH. Tb Arsyad is one of the Islamic religious from Menes Pandeglang, Banten. He lived in Tegal Menes Village and spread Islam in 1916. During his lifetime KH. Tb Arsyad is known as a man who is sincere, and has extensive knowledge. KH. Tb Arsyad spread Islamic teachings in Menes by using da'wah media by helping KH. Tb Asnawi Caringin. After the eruption of Mount Krakatu in 1838 KH. Tb arsyad finally settled and spread Islamic teachings in Tegal Menes Village, now is Cikedal. KH. Tb Arsyad fosters children and adults through basic recitation such as the introduction tajwid, learning to write Arabic letters of the Al-Qur;an, teaching of obligations that must be carried out as Muslims, as well as establishing an Islamic educational institution, namely Mathla'ul Anwar in 1916 as well as one of the a class V teaching teacher at Madrasa Mathla'ul Anwar in 1916. 1926 M name Mathla'ul Anwar was refined become Mathla'ul Anwar Linahdlatil Ulama (MALNU). His role in the Nahdlatul Ulama organization in 1928 was as one of the First Mustasyar Nahdlatul Ulama in Banten, especially Menes, and not only as a fighter in spreading Islam but also as a fighter in gaining independence.

Pengembangan Media Pembelajaran Teka-Teki Matematika Untuk Meningkatkan Pemahaman Konsep Matematis Siswa Pada Materi Perbandingan

Mathematical puzzles are learning media based on Android applications that aim to improve students' understanding of mathematical concepts, especially in comparative material. The development of this application is based on the teacher's lack of innovation in making learning media. The purpose of this application is to make new innovations related to the development of learning media called Mathematical Puzzles which are valid, practical, and effective for increasing students' understanding of mathematical concepts in comparative material. This type of research is research and development (Reasearch and Development). The subjects of this study were students of class VII MTs Nahdlatul Ulama Tengguli Jepara. The development model applied is the development model in this study, namely ADDIE. The data collection techniques applied in this study were product validation questionnaires, teacher and student practicality response questionnaires, student mathematical ability test questions, and student motivation questionnaires. The data analysis applied was media expert and material expert tests, practicality tests through teacher and student response questionnaires, and effectiveness tests through classical tests and influence tests. The results of this study indicate that the learning media for math puzzles to improve understanding of mathematical concepts meets valid criteria with a validity value of 3.27, practical with a practicality value of 3.56, and is effective with a classical completeness test score of 80% and an effect test with influential results.

ANALISIS HUKUM PENGGUNAAN PEWARNA KARMIN (TELAAH ATAS FATWA MUI DAN LAJNAH BAHTSUL MASA’IL NU)

Carmine coloring is a type of food coloring that is used to increase the attractiveness of food. This dye produces red and its derivatives. Apart from being used in food, this dye is also often found in beauty products. However, this carmine dye has sparked controversy among Muslims, this controversy is motivated by differences of opinion in determining the law on its use. Among them are legal contradictions issued by Majelis Ulama Indonesia and Lajnah Bahtsul Masa'il Nahdlatul Ulama. Therefore, this research is here to discuss several main things, first is to find out the legal procedures between Majelis Ulama Indonesia and Lajnah Bahtsul Masa'il Nahdlatul Ulama, second is to find out the legal product for the use of carmine dye from Majelis Ulama Indonesia and Lajnah Bahtsul Masa 'il Nahdlatul Ulama. This research uses qualitative research methods with pure library research as the data source.
