A SYSTEMATIC LITERATURE REVIEW ON ROLE OF PROJECT MANAGEMENT IN DIGITAL FORENSICS INVESTIGATION

The landscape of digital forensics has evolved significantly with the advent of sophisticated cybercrimes and the proliferation of digital devices. Digital forensics is a rapidly evolving discipline, characterized by unique challenges such as rapidly changing technology, large volumes of data, and stringent legal requirements. Effective project management in this context is crucial to ensure that investigations are conducted efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with legal standards. This systematic literature review aims to comprehensively analyze the role of project management practices in optimizing digital forensics investigations. Using established search protocols and selection criteria, we identified and analyzed relevant studies published between 2016 until 2023 that explored the application of project management methodologies, challenges, and best practices within the context of digital investigations. By applying effective project management strategies, investigators can ensure efficient, accurate, and legally sound digital investigations, ultimately contributing to successful criminal prosecutions and civil litigation outcomes.

RESEARCH MODEL CANVAS: APPLICATION IN ACADEMIC RESEARCH PLANNING

This article deals with academic research planning and its structural nuances, as a fundamental part of the development of scientific research, in achieving its objectives and obtaining valid and reliable results. It inquires about its conventional form of construction and presentation through the textual document and aims to propose a new instrument for the planning of academic research. It discusses Design Thinking, Business Model Generation and Project Model Canvas, as project planning and management methodologies applied in other areas of knowledge that have as a common characteristic their conciseness, etymological basis and visual presentation format. It is structured on the methodology of the 4 (four) poles: epistemological, theoretical, morphological and technical. Finally, it presents the proposal of the Research Model Canvas as an innovative instrument for the planning of academic research, developed in a robust but concise way, based on the quadripolar methodology, in a single sheet or screen document called academic research canvas and its history of application in postgraduate disciplines and in a Research Group of the Federal University of Ceará.

Leveraging Contemporary Project Management Techniques and Technology for Sustainable Telecommunications Advancement in Yemen

The digital techniques and technology have transformed formal project management field dramatically by enhancing communication, resource management and efficiency. This study aims to evaluate the efficacy of contemporary project management methodologies in promoting and facilitating sustainable development within the telecommunications sector in Yemen. Situated within the broader discourse on achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, the research employs a mixed methods approach to gather both quantitative and qualitative data. Quantitative data was collected through a survey of 150 professionals across major telecommunications firms in Yemen. The survey examined familiarity and application of techniques and technology such as waterfall, agile, six sigma, and lean. Qualitative insights were derived from 22 in-depth interviews with project managers and stakeholders. The findings of the study indicate that there is a narrow scope for integrating sustainability in Yemen’s telecommunications sector projects. Despite the research indicating a considerable level of awareness and utilization of contemporary methodologies, the integration of sustainability objectives varies considerably between projects. While numerous projects adopt environmental sustainability strategies, such as enhancing energy efficiency to reduce environmental impact and minimize carbon emissions, they lack comprehensive sustainability strategies that encompass economic, social, and environmental aspects in an integrated manner. The qualitative interviews yielded insights into the significant challenges to sustainable implementation, including insufficient training, organizational obstacles, and the effects of the ongoing conflict. In light of these findings, the paper addresses these challenges and provides recommendations and effective strategies to overcome them.

Using kanban board for forming social time management skills of future IT specialists

For the professional development of students studying in information technology areas, it is important to develop social time management skills, i.e. skills in organizing well-coordinated teamwork and optimal distribution of responsibilities between team members with minimal time to achieve a common goal. The article aims to substantiate and elaborate methodological recommendations for developing social time management skills using kanban technology in organizing team activities of future IT specialists. Criteria for assessing the development of social time management skills are proposed. The article points out the necessity of including kanban project management technology not only as training content but also as a way to optimize time resources when performing team training projects.The article describes an experiment on teamwork organization of Nizhny Tagil State Socio-Pedagogical Institute (branch) of Russian State Vocational Pedagogical University students. At the initial stage, the determination of the level of formation of social time management skills among 2nd year students in the process of completing a project assignment on software product development was carried out within the discipline “High-level methods of informatics and programming” without the use of time management technologies. The results of this stage showed the need to develop time management skills of future IT specialists in the process of teamwork. Recommendations for organizing student teamwork when using project time management technologies using a kanban board were formulated, which will allow students to develop social time management skills.The next stage of the experiment was the organization of students’ teamwork using flexible project management methodology (kanban technology): taking into account the proposed recommendations in the experimental group, without the use of time management technologies in the control group. The results of the pedagogical experiment showed the expediency of following the proposed methodological recommendations.

Strategic leadership for complex energy and oil & gas projects: A conceptual approach

This paper outlines a conceptual framework designed to enhance leadership effectiveness in managing such projects. The framework emphasises three key pillars: collaboration, stakeholder engagement, and regulatory alignment, which are critical for driving innovation and achieving operational success in the energy sector. In the context of collaboration, the framework advocates for fostering an inclusive team culture that encourages knowledge sharing and interdisciplinary cooperation. Effective leaders must cultivate relationships among diverse stakeholders, ensuring that varied perspectives are integrated into project planning and execution. This collaborative approach not only enhances problem-solving capabilities but also promotes a shared sense of ownership among team members. Stakeholder engagement is another crucial element of this leadership framework. Leaders must actively communicate with stakeholders—including government entities, local communities, and industry partners—to build trust and facilitate transparency. By understanding the needs and concerns of different stakeholders, leaders can align project objectives with broader societal and environmental goals, thereby minimizing resistance and enhancing project viability. Regulatory alignment is vital in the energy and oil & gas sectors, where compliance with industry regulations and environmental standards is paramount. The proposed framework guides leaders in navigating complex regulatory landscapes, ensuring that project strategies are aligned with legal requirements and best practices. This proactive approach mitigates risks associated with non-compliance, ultimately safeguarding the project's reputation and long-term sustainability. By integrating these pillars into their leadership practices, energy and oil & gas project leaders can drive innovation and operational excellence, even under challenging conditions. This conceptual approach underscores the importance of strategic leadership in managing complexity and achieving successful outcomes in the energy sector, paving the way for future advancements in project management methodologies. A Business Management Model in the Circular Economy: Technological Solutions for Plastic Recycling

Objectives: this article develops a model for managing business processes in a circular economy using technologies for plastic recycling. Theoretical Framework: The theoretical idea and basis of the article consists in the development of project management methodology, process approach in the closed-loop economy, development of methods and economic tools aimed at effective resource management taking into account waste reduction and increased reuse of plastic fractions in Municipal Solid Waste (MSW). The application of digital technologies and solutions in the context of business process management in the field of plastics recycling will be substantiated, which will allow to identify new opportunities and reserves for optimising business processes in this field, increasing the efficiency of resource use, improving the environment and reducing costs. Method: the work uses a project approach, a process approach, digital modeling methods, and the “polluter pays” method. To implement the process approach, it is proposed to use the concept of Business Process Management (BPM). Competent business process management allows the company to react quickly to changing market conditions and customer orientation. Digital modelling in this paper means the representation of actions in the form of business processes in the organisation of solid waste management, the 'polluter pays' method means the economic assessment and accounting of environmental damage in waste management in the costs of business processes. Results and Discussion: The results of the study can be used to introduce the process approach to plastics recycling in individual regions and countries for the development of a green economy. According to the estimates of the authors, the optimisation and cost reduction of business processes, taking into account the environmental factor and the increase of the revenue part of the project from the reuse and inclusion in the economic turnover of plastic waste recycling products on the scale of the considered city (population of 1800 thousand people, area of 2856 ha, 18.14 tonnes of plastic waste accumulated per day) will reduce the costs of business process management by more than 200 thousand euros. Research Implications: the results of the study can be used to justify projects for the processing and recycling of solid municipal waste, including plastic waste, to introduce environmentally friendly production, to reduce the negative impact on the environment, to develop a process approach to the organisation of all activities for the collection of plastic waste in the city, district. In addition, the application of the proposed approach allows to obtain economic benefits for companies through the sale of secondary resources for the processing of plastic waste, as well as to reduce the negative impact on the environment. Originality/ Value: The originality of the research and its value lies in a new scientific formulation of the problem of reducing environmental pollution from plastic waste through the use of business processes in the field of plastic recycling and digital solutions, as well as the possibility of practical application of the results obtained in the field of green economy.

AGILE PROJECT MANAGEMENT: ANALYZING THE EFFECTIVENESS OF AGILE METHODOLOGIES IN IT PROJECTS COMPARED TO TRADITIONAL APPROACHES

This systematic review examines the comparative effectiveness of Agile and traditional project management methodologies, focusing on their application in dynamic IT environments and well-defined industries. Utilizing the PRISMA guidelines, a total of 45 peer-reviewed studies published between 2005 and 2023 were analyzed. The review found that Agile methodologies consistently outperformed traditional approaches in dynamic settings, offering greater flexibility, faster project delivery, and higher customer satisfaction through iterative cycles and continuous stakeholder engagement. However, traditional methods, such as Waterfall, were found to be more effective in projects with fixed scopes and stringent regulatory requirements, providing better control and predictability. The review also highlights the growing adoption of hybrid project management models, which combine Agile’s adaptability with the structure of traditional methods, particularly in large or complex projects. The findings underscore the importance of selecting the appropriate methodology based on project-specific factors, with Agile excelling in fast-changing environments and traditional methods being more suitable for regulated industries. Further research is recommended to explore Agile’s applicability in non-IT sectors and the long-term effectiveness of hybrid models.

Models and methods of the technological maturity development of self-managed organizations in the context of using the syncretic methodology

Introduction. Infrastructure restoration projects of Ukraine are being implemented in the difficult conditions of war and many challenges. To increase the effectiveness of their implementation, project-oriented organizations need an effective management system. At the same time, it is necessary not only to apply innovative models and methods of project management developed by the world's leading organizations and companies, but also to create our own scientific developments, taking into account complex environmental conditions. Since restoration projects are related to the construction industry, which is one of the locomotives of the Ukraine's economy development as a whole. Therefore, the development of new models and methods of increasing the effectiveness of project-oriented organizations is an urgent scientific task. Problem statement. The problems of management systems development of project-oriented organizations implementing restoration projects using modern (including syncretic) project management methodologies are described. The need to improve the efficiency of such management systems is emphasized. The importance of developing a syncretic maturity model for use by project-oriented organizations for the implementation of recovery projects within the syncretic project management methodology is substantiated. The scientific task of developing a model of syncretic maturity in the field of project management for use in the researched type of projects is formulated.

The need for a risk management framework for data science projects: a systematic literature review

Many data science endeavors encounter failure, surfacing at any project phase. Even after successful deployments, data science projects grapple with ethical dilemmas, such as bias and discrimination. Current project management methodologies prioritize efficiency and cost savings over risk management. The methodologies largely overlook the diverse risks of sociotechnical systems and risk articulation inherent in data science lifecycles. Conversely, while the established risk management framework (RMF) by NIST and McKinsey aims to manage AI risks, there is a heavy reliance on normative definitions of risk, neglecting the multifaceted subjectivities of data science project failures. This paper reports on a systematic literature review that identifies three main themes: Big Data Execution Issues, Demand for a Risk Management Framework tailored for Large-Scale Data Science Projects, and the need for a General Risk Management Framework for all Data Science Endeavors. Another overarching focus is on how risk is articulated by the institution and the practitioners. The paper discusses a novel and adaptive data science risk management framework – “DS EthiCo RMF” – which merges project management, ethics, and risk management for diverse data science projects into one holistic framework. This agile risk management framework DS EthiCo RMF can bridge the current divide between normative risk standards and the multitude of data science requirements, offering a human-centric method to navigate the intertwined sociotechnical risks of failure in data science projects.

Method of Maximizing F-Synergistic Value in IT Development Projects for Self-Managed Organizations

The article is devoted to the formulation of the method of maximizing the F-synergistic value of IT development projects of a project-oriented organization, which was developed within the syncretic methodology of project management. The application of the proposed method is considered in the field of IT development projects of organizations involved in infrastructure restoration projects of Ukraine. The directions of scientific research in the field of value-oriented project management are analyzed. The previously unsolved part of the scientific problem is highlighted. Objects of value analysis in a project-oriented organization carrying out IT development were identified, among which stellarator projects were highlighted. A model for determining the value of a separate component of the system is presented. The concept of F-synergistic value is defined. Such a value is proposed to be calculated through the aggregate value of three clusters that create synergistic effects both within themselves (first-order value) and among themselves (second-order value). The clusters included: "IT + people" cluster, "projects + operational activity" cluster, "methodology + environment" cluster. Models for determining the value of a separate cluster and the aggregate F-synergistic value are proposed. Variations in the selection of weighting factors for evaluating value criteria are considered. Within the syncretic methodology, a method of maximizing the F-synergistic value of IT development of a project-oriented company is proposed. The model of 27 scenarios of the dynamics of the change of the multipliers of synergy of three clusters is presented. In the corresponding tables for each scenario, a hypothesis is put forward regarding the reasons for such dynamics for each scenario, as well as a model of further IT development of a project-oriented company in response to such reasons. According to the results of the development of the method of maximizing the F-synergistic value of IT development projects of a project-oriented organization guided by syncretic methodology, directions for improving the activities of such organizations were determined. An extended SWOT analysis of the proposed method was conducted. Conclusions based on the research are formulated, prospects for further research in the chosen direction are outlined.

It ensures efficient resource management, timely task completion, and alignment with labor market demands. Approaches for Hybrid Scaling of Agile in the IT Industry: A Systematic Literature Review and Research Agenda

Agile methodologies, initially designed for the project level, face challenges when applied at enterprise levels where complex projects and diverse stakeholders are involved. To meet this challenge, several large-scale agile methodologies have been proposed. However, these approaches are not flexible enough or tailored to the needs of organizations, projects, and their teams. It is in this context that hybrid methodologies have emerged. This study aims to conduct a systematic literature review to trace the evolution of hybrid scaling of agile and characterize different approaches to implement it. This study starts by assessing 1509 studies through the use of the PRISMA 2020 framework and identifies 38 relevant studies in this field. The findings indicate that the majority of studies are from 2021 onwards and that qualitative methodologies supported by case studies predominate, making it possible to characterize tailoring processes in these organizations. Moreover, the implementation of hybrid scaling of agile is supported by the paradigm of ambidextrous strategy, a combination of agile with traditional project management methodologies, and continuous improvements. This study contributes insights into navigating the complexities of agile scaling, offering practical guidance for organizations seeking to optimize their project management practices.

Option method of project management marine transport business environment in the post-war period

The beginning of a full-scale military invasion of russia into Ukraine caused significant human, economic and political losses, as well as destruction of transport infrastructure, sea transport in particular. Today, maritime transport of Ukraine is in a turbulent business environment. Therefore, the development of transport system project management and the dynamics of the military influence of sea transportation are prone to significant economic fluctuations. In modern conditions, when monitoring the work processes of international shipping companies along with the desire to maximize the current financial indicators of the operation of these projects. Issues related to the long-term planning of the chartering phases of the fleet of shipping companies are also important, taking into account the economic trends of changes in the state of the charter market and the dynamics of the military influence on the economy of Ukraine. That is why there is a need to apply the project and program management methodology using the option method as an example. Modern approaches to the management of logistics and infrastructure projects in the external and internal business environment involve the use of the method of chartering options. This method regulates the ship chartering market and improves the system of efficiency indicators of the chartering of sea vessels by shipping companies in the context of strategic projects in maritime transport. The scientific novelty of the study consists in the application of the option mechanism with the aim of time factors to freight rates operating on international freight exchanges. The application of this optional risk-oriented project method allows ship planners to protect against fluctuations in the ship freight market. Thus, it prevents and reduces the economic risk of increased freight rate fluctuations for shipowners, as freight rates are formed for a long-term perspective of 6 months to 3 years, which insures the risks of maritime business entities.

Making the move from conventional project management methodologies to Agile practices promises to bring about these benefits. The purpose of this abstract is to provide a complete overview of how organisations may successfully traverse this complicated process by examining the best practices and obstacles connected with Agile transformation in the FinTech industry. Because of the dynamic nature of the FinTech business, the Agile approach, which is characterised by iterative development, collaboration, and responsiveness to change, is a good fit for the industry. One of the most important best practices for a successful Agile transition is the establishment of a clear vision and the commitment of leadership. For the purpose of cultivating a culture that welcomes change and supports innovation, leaders are required to advocate for the Agile principles and provide continuous support. In addition, it is crucial to make investments in Agile training and coaching in order to equip teams with the skills necessary to successfully deploy and maintain Agile methods.

Evaluation of Scrum Implementation and Recommendation Improvement in Software Development: a Case Study of Logistic Company XYZ

PT XYZ provides a digital platform for the national logistics ecosystem and is connected to a global network. PT XYZ applies Agile as a project management methodology so that each team member can focus on continuous improvement and delivering value to customers. The framework used is Scrum during software development to complete work in Agile. However, there are problems during software development, such as failing to meet the targeted deliverables. This research evaluates the implementation of Scrum in PT XYZ and provides recommendations for improving the software development process using Scrum Evaluation Metrics based on Scrum Guide 2020 and Essentials Scrum. The research utilized mixed methods, combining quantitative data collection through questionnaires with qualitative methods involving interviews with Scrum Master and stakeholders, followed by a review of company documents. The result was processed using the Agile Maturity Model's Key Process Area (KPA) rating. The research shows that overall, the KPA rating value of 87.39% is interpreted as Fully Achieved. Recommendations for improvement focused on 27 recommendations for 61 practices that were not Fully Achieved, with high priority given to 15 recommendations. This evaluation and recommendation aim to improve the implementation of Scrum in PT XYZ and overcome the problem of backlog targets not being achieved in the Fulfillment squad.

The article examines the Agile methodology, presents its advantages and disadvantages. A new way of interaction between project work participants at the enterprise is proposed. This approach to organizing project work takes into account new challenges of digital transformation and digital solutions aimed at implementing tasks in order to optimize the use of enterprise resources. The considered methodology of project management in the context of digital transformation of the enterprise includes the overall organization of work, effective interaction of participants, the formation of cross-functional working groups in the development of digital transformation projects, the implementation of the digital transformation strategy, and the development of digital culture. The proposed approach made it possible to form a theoretical and methodological basis for understanding the need to create and use cross-functional working groups in the implementation of digital transformation projects.

THE TECHNOLOGY OF THE PROJECT APPROACH IN PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION AT THE LEVEL OF UNITED TERRITORIAL COMMUNITIES OF THE DECENTRALIZED SYSTEM OF TERRITORIAL ORGANIZATION OF POWER

The article is devoted to the issue of project management implementation by public management bodies of the decentralized system of territorial organization of power, in particular the functional features and advantages of implementing project management tools in the activities of united territorial communities of Ukraine. It is determined that the project approach to project management today is one of the most popular ways of management in the modern world. The relevance of the widespread introduction of project management methodology and project approach in the practice of public administration as a new culture of management and effective tools for good governance in a crisis, instability and uncertainty is substantiated, solving industrial, scientific and social problems. It was concluded that the use of project management methodology at the national level of the decentralized system of territorial organization of power is both strategic and tactical in nature. In strategic terms, the project approach makes it possible to focus the efforts of public authorities on solving urgent problems of long-term development of society in its key areas, reducing tensions in the socio-political sphere, by increasing the efficiency of public authorities to strengthen their legitimacy and resilience to internal and external threats establish a stable partnership dialogue with communities and civil society institutions. In terms of tactics, budget savings, reduction of implementation of state programs and national projects, some optimization of government structures and improved coordination of public authorities, cooperation and public-private partnerships with business entities.

Construction of Virtual Simulation Experiment Platform for Intelligent Construction Based on Statistical Machine Learning System Modelling

In the construction of a virtual simulation experiment platform for intelligent construction, cutting-edge technologies converge to revolutionize traditional project management methodologies. By harnessing the power of virtual reality, statistical modeling, and machine learning, this platform empowers stakeholders to predict, optimize, and simulate construction projects with unprecedented accuracy and efficiency. This paper introduces the Virtual Statistical Machine Learning (VS-ML) platform and demonstrates its application in intelligent construction processes. Through comprehensive experimentation and simulation, the VS-ML platform accurately estimates construction project parameters, optimizes resource utilization, schedules tasks efficiently, and classifies project outcomes with high accuracy. Numerical results from our study showcase the platform's effectiveness in various aspects of construction project management. For instance, in construction projects estimation, scenarios ranging from Scenario 1 to Scenario 10 exhibit project durations between 100 to 150 days, cost estimates ranging from $470,000 to $550,000, and safety ratings varying from "Good" to "Excellent". Furthermore, labor efficiency and material waste estimations across scenarios demonstrate percentages ranging from 85% to 93% and 3% to 7%, respectively, with corresponding safety ratings. Additionally, task computations elucidate the durations, start dates, end dates, and resource allocations for individual tasks within construction projects. Lastly, classification results exhibit the predicted probabilities and class labels for samples, showcasing the platform's ability to accurately predict project outcomes. Overall, the findings underscore the potential of VS-ML in revolutionizing traditional construction practices through data-driven approaches, leading to improved project management, cost savings, and enhanced safety standards in the construction industry.
