This research has examined the example of Jordan Television to understand how AI technologies might be implemented in the media production sector in Jordan with legal and ethical regulation. The use of AI innovation by media institutions worldwide is the main reason behind the fears of ethics, legal frameworks, and traditional ethical aspiration of journalism. The report then proceeded to employ a descriptive-analytic approach, which was based on a survey distributed to staff members of Jordan television (N=57). The study had three main areas: the extent of AI technology use in media production, the legal and ethical regulation concerns, and the implications of AI technologies for journalism practice. The results indicated that the use of AI technology in media production at Jordan Television was at a medium level. Besides that, there seemed to be a mixed understanding of or the existence of a regulatory framework and uncovering of new concerns of the decline of traditional journalism skills and competencies. The research also shows that professional impacts, regulatory approaches, and levels of AI use are significantly linked; thus, it is even more necessary to draw up legally binding and ethical standards that allow for the orderly and fair use of AI. Additionally, the research encourages the provision of training programs that can equip media professionals with the know-how and skills to use AI responsibly and effectively. On a general note, the study is a great source of theoretical and practical insights regarding the application of AI technologies in the Jordanian media context and also the challenges of media governance in today's digital world.

The article is devoted to the presentation of the “Human Library” as an interactive educational method, as well as to the experience of its implementation in the educational process of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University. It emphasizes that under martial law, ethical and tactful communication with military personnel, often traumatized by combat experience, is crucial for Ukrainian society as a whole, particularly for participants in the educational process in higher education institutions. It is highlighted that the “Human Library” method, designed to overcome differences between people through live interaction and to combat prejudice and stereotypes, can contribute to this goal. The essence of the interactive “Human Library” method is revealed, in which the role of books is performed by living people who share their personal stories. It is stressed that the application of this method in higher education contributes to solving a range of tasks: educational, motivational, formative, communicative, and developmental. The article presents the experience of the Library of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University, which traditionally organizes “Human Library” events by inviting military personnel to serve as “living books” and engaging participants of the educational process from the Faculty of Journalism and other faculties. Based on the results of these events, students complete practical assignments by preparing media products of a defined genre – such as a profile essay, a photo report, or a video/audio recording of the event – thereby improving their professional skills. The “Human Library” method has significant potential for enhancing the quality of professional education and for developing students’ professional competencies, particularly in the field of Journalism.

Mechanically recyclable thermoplastic polymers are used in preparation of lightweight, high-efficiency aerogel filter media for air filtration with the aid of fused filament fabrication three-dimensional (3D)-printing technique. The all-polyolefin composite filter media is composed of isotactic polypropylene (iPP) gyroid frameworks and high-density polyethylene (HDPE) aerogel infill. The solid content of HDPE needed to obtain a free-standing gel from its solutions is first determined. The aerogel morphology is investigated using scanning electron microscopy and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller nitrogen adsorption analysis. The HDPE aerogel is constructed of lamellar crystalline platelets. The compression tests show that the use of 3D-printed iPP frames in the composite filter media provides adequate compressive modulus (∼100 MPa). The nanometer size pores and the tortuous air flow path are responsible for high filtration efficiency (>99.97%) for the all-polyolefin composite filter media, higher than the standard for high-efficiency particulate absorption filters, typically 99.95%. The study is extended to repurpose 3D-printed filaments obtained from the blends of iPP and HDPE with up to 30 wt % HDPE into fabrication of mechanically strong supporting frames that can host HDPE aerogel. The excellent printability and low warpage values demonstrate the feasibility of repurposing waste polyolefin materials into value-added filter media products.

This article explores how social media is contributing to the medicalization of masculinity – specifically the pathologizing of boys and young men who do not reflect dominant masculine ideals. We illustrate how medicalization of masculinity intersects with hegemonic masculinity – the socially dominant and most valued form of masculinity. Boys and men who do not live up to these ideals may be diagnosed with conditions rather than recognizing systemic pressures. First, we consider ideals presented on social media platforms often perpetuate stereotypes around masculinity with images of the muscular man, exuding power and strength, who appears stoic and attractive to women. For those who do not measure up to the normative images, online communities, pseudo medical experts and clickbait offer avenues to remedy perceived problems. We explore the consequence of social media consumption and offer an epistemic approach to advance critical social media literacies. Our contribution is a new theoretical lens to advance discussions around literacies urgently needed in the digital age to accounts for the interplay between social media production, users, their choices, values and beliefs. We offer this theoretical approach to advance proficiencies so that boys and young men can more critically evaluate misinformation, disinformation and harmful norms on social media that perpetuate dominant versions of masculinity and the medicalization of those who do not measure up.

The editing and collage were not only about the production of the different visual media, but also involved the construction of the architectural image and the environment as an image. The collage creates a non-linear and associative visual narrative, it is characterized precisely by the process of composition of materials, initially, not in close relationship. The condition in which the collage gravitates can be compared to architecture. The juxtaposition between old and new, in a work of "conscious restoration", gives life to a new architectural figuration, which will talk about the different lives of the architectural artifact. The editing, unlike the collage, extracts the materials from the performance of a psychophysical gesture ("cut" through the "use of scissors"). Sergej Ejzenštejn explained that the editing reduces the images and shots to «a succession of important moments» (R. Barthes). In the case of editing, being made up of several images that follow each other, an emancipation of the exhibition value of the individual image, because it is immediately postponed by another and so on. It can be said that the collage is a manifestation of "modeling" or "composing", while the editing is the manifestation of "cutting". The perceptual effects that the two techniques induce to the observer differ by far, since the perception and deduction, in the first case, is purely subjective, while, in the second case, they are shaped by the one who builds the image through juxtaposition in succession (editing). Although it is thought that there is a difference between film editing and architecture, Ejzenštejn helps us to rediscover the analogy between the two arts. The director has shown that both work the same purpose: to deliver metaphorical messages beyond exposure time.

Amidst proliferating threats to trans rights, transgender activists are using data and data activism to advocate for and to protect trans communities. This transgender-led study asks “How do trans activists use data in their activism?” We interviewed 16 activists engaged in trans community care: from community healthcare to media production to policy making, our participants are making and using data about trans people to serve and support trans communities. Our findings reveal that participants use tactical approaches to data and data science that were consistent with existing data activist literature and contemporary approaches to data refusal. However, what emerged were more than sets of tactics — our participants described ways of knowing with and about data that are grounded in their experiences of (racialized, disabled, aging, queer) transness. Taken together, we consider these ways of knowing to be a trans data epistemology . Drawing on literature from trans theory, data activism, critical data studies, philosophy, and critical social theory we offer a narrative of trans people as creators of knowledge, data-based and otherwise, undergirded by four pillars of a trans data epistemology: categories are provisional and productive, data can be a tool of community care, community well-being is more important than “accurate” data, and data makes us visible to institutions.

ABSTRACT Based on the combination of online observation, content analysis, as well as comparative and statistical analysis, this paper discusses the scale and structure of al-Qaeda’s and Islamic State’s propaganda output on the surface web. It explores qualitative and quantitative trends detectable in their propaganda between July and December 2023. This paper shows that during this period, the Islamic State released almost twice as many propaganda items on the surface web compared to al-Qaeda. Collected data indicates that the IS’s media production capability improved compared to its online crisis experienced around 2018. The recovery is, however, limited and caused primarily by efforts of the pro-IS media operatives, who are engaged in mass translation and reproduction of official releases of this violent extremist organization (VEO). Among al-Qaeda branches active on the surface web in the second half of 2023, Harakat al-Shabaab al-Mujahidin and media offices that support al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent demonstrated the most remarkable capabilities in strategic communication. This paper also proves that both al-Qaeda and the Islamic State manifested significant interest in the events taking place in Africa, Central Asia, and Palestine. However, they frequently adopted opposing ways of framing them.

AI text-to-video systems, such as OpenAI’s Sora, promise substantial efficiency gains in media production but also pose risks of biased outputs, opaque optimization, and deceptive content. Using the Orientation–Stimulus–Orientation–Response (O-S-O-R) model, we conduct an empirical study with 209 Chinese new media professionals and employ structural equation modeling to examine how information elaboration relates to AI knowledge, perceptions, and adoption intentions. Our findings reveal a knowledge paradox: higher objective AI knowledge negatively moderates elaboration, suggesting that centralized information ecosystems can misguide even well-informed practitioners. Building on these behavioral insights, we propose a blockchain-based governance framework that operationalizes five mechanisms to enhance oversight and trust while maintaining efficiency: Expert Assessment DAOs, Community Validation DAOs, real-time algorithm monitoring, professional integrity protection, and cross-border coordination. While our study focuses on China’s substantial new media market, the observed patterns and design principles generalize to global contexts. This work contributes empirical grounding for Web3-enabled AI governance, specifies implementable smart-contract patterns for multi-stakeholder validation and incentives, and outlines a research agenda spanning longitudinal, cross-cultural, and implementation studies.

Remote island regions in Maluku face persistent challenges such as limited internet connectivity, fragile infrastructure, and varied ICT competencies among teachers, which hinder the sustainability of digital learning. This study aimed to design and implement an integrated learning management sequence using the Moodle LMS combined with Assemblr AR media, and to evaluate its impact on teachers’ capacities in the context of remote schools. The research employed a quasi-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design involving 10 teachers at SDN 1 Waelata. The intervention included practice-based training and mentoring in LMS use (courses, activities, assessments) and no-code AR media production, measured through two pre–post instruments. Results demonstrated consistent and significant improvements: in AR production, mean scores increased from 7.9 to 16.8; in LMS management, from 8.7 to 17.2. Wilcoxon tests were significant for both (AR: Z = −2.848, p = 0.004, r ≈ 0.90; LMS: Z = −2.879, p = 0.004, r ≈ 0.91), with no negative ranks or ties, supported by operational evidence (activated courses, teacher–student accounts, and functioning classes). The findings conclude that an LMS–AR practice model is effective in strengthening teachers’ technical-pedagogical competencies and orchestrating digital classrooms under low-bandwidth conditions. The contribution lies in offering a replicable, auditable, and resilient TPACK–SAMR practice package for island schools. Future research should involve controlled trials with comparison groups, track student learning outcomes, examine sustainability and infrastructure issues, and explore the integration of local content across subjects.

The influence of AI technology within creative media continues to shift how art is envisioned, created, and consumed. This paper explores the impact of AI within the creative media sector and focuses on the literature and critiques examining the alteration of the creative process. The AI-enhanced artistic practice expansion offers new possibilities within the artistic experimentation by allowing new forms and narratives to be created. This challenges traditional concepts of authorship and brings into question the definitions of originality and creativity. Ethically, the expansion of artistic practice and creativity with AI tools raises the question of legal and responsible design frameworks on the issues of proprietary rights and ownership of AI and algorithm bias. This paper addresses evolving AI technologies in creative and media practices and the need for AI literacy to be incorporated into the curriculum for artists, educators, and cultural institutions. AI's integration into artistic and media production emphasizes the need for new and responsible design principles that focus on data ethics and algorithm transparency, as well as legally and socially accountable frameworks in pedagogy. Since the instruments available and the integration of artificial intelligence and machine learning into business processes and day to day activities are transformative of the interlude and cultural parameters, the research indicates the need to structure the focus on the interlude activist and scholarly dialogue and the case study to research regarding the integration of artificial intelligence into the business processes and daily activities and the changing cultural force. INTRODUCTION. The relevance of modern trends in Russian children’s cinema study is due to the need to comprehend its role in shaping the value orientations of the younger generation, as well as to analyze those strategies that allow Russian fairy-tale films to compete with global media products. In recent years, there has been a noticeable in the growing number of films being released, a variety of genre approaches, and the active use of new technologies. However, against the background of these changes, the question arises about national identity preservation, the balance between entertainment and educational functions, as well as how traditional fairy tales can be reinterpreted in a modern context. The aim is to identify and analyze the key trends determining the children’s national cinema development using the example of fairy tale films of recent years.MATERIALS AND METHODS. The analysis of scientific literature and theoretical works on the problem under study, comparative analysis (classical and modern film adaptations), cultural approach and semiotic analysis of visual and narrative elements are used.RESULTS AND DISCUSSION. The research examines the following aspects: the themes’ and issues’ evolution, technological innovations, the influence of the socio-cultural context on the content and form of film productions, as well as the prospects for further development of the genre.CONCLUSION. This study examines children’s cinema as an important tool for the socialization, education and cultural development of the younger generation. It is noted that the digital technologies’ development, changes in the socio-political environment and media preferences of young viewers require the adaptation of traditional forms of children’s cinema to new conditions. The research aims to identify and scientifically substantiate the main directions of the transformation of modern Russian children’s cinema using the example of film tales published in the period from 2017 to 2024. As a result of the study, it is found that modern Russian children’s cinema, considered on the example of film tales, has undergone a significant transformation relative to the Soviet period. Changes have occurred both at the production level and at the content consumption level. Producers of film stories have to find a balance between following the letter of classic plots and the audience’s habit of perceiving a dynamic, visually vivid, humor-based type of content. They draw attention to their product by creating unique worlds and characters through the abundant use of computer graphics. At the same time, they strive to expand the audience from children’s to family by focusing on the entertainment component of the stories offered, exploiting more universal themes and humor. The most noticeable trend in the adaptation of fairy tales is the computer graphics use. With its help, the expressive possibilities of cinema are expanded.

This paper examines the specifics of using culture-related precedent units, particularly those of literary origin, as well as accompanying signs, in modern English-language media, focusing on news, informational, and analytical content from the online newspaper The Economist . The examples analyzed in the paper were selected using a continuous sampling method from materials published in 2024 and 2025. The study explores how their expressive strategies foster a distinctive interaction between the authors and the readership, leveraging the creative deployment of culture-related precedent units to shape meaning and engagement. The analysis demonstrates that such references enrich the semantic landscape of media texts, enhancing both informational depth and imagery. Incorporating fragments of historical and cultural experience into the creative process of media production enables authors to vividly interpret complex socio-political dynamics by engaging with enduring human concerns such as power, identity, and morality. Additionally, the use of culture-related precedent units as a tool for structuring texts and imparting content with a distinctive, recognizable form is highlighted. It is argued that The Economist deliberately integrates a wealth of culture-related precedent units to cultivate a sense of trust and intellectual community among its audience, encouraging them to participate in nuanced dialogue and critical analysis within a broad historical and cultural context. In addition to examining the integration of verbal markers, the paper also considers the role of visual elements, such as illustrations and cartoons, in reinforcing and expanding the communicative potential of culture-related precedent units within modern media discourse.

In the iron and steel production process, significant fluctuations in the consumption and production of energy media occur during equipment maintenance, causing difficulties in the equipment operation. Therefore, it is required to reconcile the conflict between global scheduling optimisation and to fulfil the need for stable equipment operation during maintenance. This study integrates heuristic rules into the model with the objective of minimising both system energy operation costs (EOCs) and equipment fluctuation expenses. A multi-period optimal scheduling model for the energy system in steel enterprises was developed herein. Results demonstrate that, under standard production conditions, optimising EOCs (Scheme A) and multi-objective optimisation (Scheme B) both fully utilise the storage function of the gasholder. After optimisation, EOCs are reduced by 9.07% and 8.67%, respectively, with only marginal changes in equipment fuel fluctuation costs. Furthermore, during the maintenance of blast furnace No. 1, although Scheme B results in a 0.26% higher EOC than Scheme A, equipment fuel fluctuation costs are reduced by 83.3%, significantly enhancing the equipment operational stability. This not only optimises energy utilisation, but also mitigates operational challenges, aligning more closely with scheduling requirements. Thus, under abnormal operating conditions, Scheme B leads to notable improvements in both system EOCs and equipment fuel fluctuations. Further analysis suggests that iron and steel enterprises can strategically schedule equipment maintenance during periods of high electricity prices to effectively reduce overall system energy costs.

The recent, unparalleled upsurge in generative AI technologies—from groundbreaking advancements like GPT-4, DALL-E 2, and Midjourney—has swiftly integrated them into professional media and communication domains, including journalism, public relations, and advertising. While some recent scholarship documents this significant transformation, the relevant information remains notably dispersed across computer science, ethics, and communication studies, underscoring a pressing need for cohesive synthesis. This paper, therefore, applies a rigorous systematic literature review, involving an extensive search of Web of Science, Scopus, ACM Digital Library, and Google Scholar, to identify peer-reviewed papers published from 2020 to 2024. The final corpus of 68 articles was thematically analyzed, revealing three principal research areas: (1) AI's complex interplay with automated and augmented media production workflows; (2) an emergent typology of ethical crises and dilemmas, often shadowed by epistemic, labour, and relational concerns; and (3) preliminary efforts at formulating normative guidance for the ethical and responsible production and dissemination of AI algorithms. Finally, this research delineates theoretical and methodological limitations, most notably the disproportionately low number of audience reception studies and a preponderance of research focusing on audiences in the Global North. To address these lacunae, we outline a comprehensive agenda for further research, designed to foster new theoretical models for non-human (or algorithmic) communication, explore socio-economic impacts on media workers, and investigate implications for democratic discourse.

The study is aimed at identifying and analyzing key determinants that influence the propensity of youth to prefer one social network over another. The methodological basis of the work consisted of a comprehensive systems analysis and synthesis of scholarly publications combined with the processing of statistical datasets from recognized industry sources. As a result, a close relationship was established between user choices and three interrelated factors: the specifics of algorithmic content ranking mechanisms, the dominant formats of materials and the sociocultural constitution features of each network’s community. Thus, TikTok emerges as an ecosystem stimulating authentic self-expression, interactive engagement and the consumption of predominantly entertainment media products, whereas Instagram retains the status of a gallery of visually refined idealized content serving as a means of social validation and personal brand maintenance. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the proposal of an adaptive model of PR strategies that accounts for the unique psychographic and behavioral characteristics of each platform’s users. The findings demonstrate the impossibility of effectively applying universal communication solutions and justify the need to design targeted tactics customized to the specifics of TikTok’s and Instagram’s functioning. The presented materials will be useful to both media communications researchers and PR and marketing practitioners seeking to optimize interactions with youth audiences.
