DeLone and McLean Information Systems Success Model in A Blended-Learning Context

This study evaluates the success of the blended-learning mode in the context of a higher education institution in the Arabian Gulf region, utilizing the updated DeLone and McLean information systems success model. Students were surveyed about their perceptions of and feedback on the different characteristics of blended learning. Use of the blended-learning system and student satisfaction had a significant positive influence on net benefits. The service quality aspects of the blended-learning system—collaboration, support, and interaction between involved parties—provided strong support to both system use and student satisfaction. This study is one of only a few to evaluate blended learning in the Arabian Gulf region. The findings increase understanding of blended-learning system use in the entire region and shed light on its relation to student contentment. This would aid the curriculum design process, resources allocation, adoption, and customization of the blended-learning modality.

Assessing the Impact of System Quality, Information Quality, and Service Quality on Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems

Globally, governments are taking steps to help them increase their income generation margin by implementing tax administrative ERP systems. However, the impacts on the internal system users of these ERP system quality features have not drawn the attention needed. This study, therefore, examines the relationship between the information systems' (IS) quality and individual impact using the theoretical foundation of the DeLone and McLean IS success model and, secondly, addresses the interrelationships between the quality constructs of information systems (IS). The authors also used the structural equation modeling technique of partial least squares to evaluate and analyze the data. The results show that system quality, the information quality, and the service quality characteristics of the tax administrative ERP system have a strong positive impact on the success of the IS at the individual level. There is also a positive relationship between the information systems' (IS) quality construction. The results provide additional empirical observations and consequences for management.

Meta-analysis of the DeLone and McLean models in e-learning success: the moderating role of user type

PurposeReviewing the existing literature in the field of e-learning success reveals a considerable number of studies that primarily investigate the causal relationships proposed by the DeLone and McLean (D&M) information system (IS) success model. However, the various relationships in the D&M model have found different levels of support or even contradictory results within the empirical literature. To synthesize the existing knowledge in the field of e-learning success, the authors have conducted a meta-analysis of e-learning success studies using D&M to combine the quantitative results and validate the model in this field. Furthermore, a moderator analysis involving user types was performed to examine the situation under which they may have different effects.Design/methodology/approachFor this purpose, through a systematic review of the studies, 44 independent studies were selected from 29 qualified related journals. In order to analyze the quantitative results of the studies, the meta-analysis of the effect sizes of the casual relationships in the D&M model has been used.FindingsThe findings indicated that all relationships of the model were supported. It was also revealed that the extent of effect sizes of the examined relationships depends on the type of user. Except for one relationship (user satisfaction and net benefit), all effect sizes of employees were more than those of students and teachers.Research limitations/implicationsThis meta-analysis reviewed the relationships found in the literature on D&M constructs in e-learning contexts. This study better explains the e-learning success factors by consolidating contradictory findings in the past researches and contributes to the existing e-learning success literature. The findings can assist educational institutions and organizations in decision-making because the findings resulting from the meta-analysis are more consistent than previous primary researches.Originality/valueDespite the widespread use of the D&M model in the field of e-learning success, no study has yet consolidated the quantitative findings of these studies and the current field abounds in some controversies and inconsistent findings. This paper integrates the results of empirical studies that examined the relationships within the D&M model. The main contribution of this paper, which is the first of its kind, is to apply meta-analysis to reconcile the conflicting findings, investigate the strengths of the relationships in the D&M model and provide a consolidated view.

A success model for cyber threat intelligence management platforms

The increasingly persistent and sophisticated threat actors, along with the sheer speed at which cyber attacks unfold, have made timely decision making imperative for ensuring the continued security of most organisations. Consequently, threat intelligence management platforms have been widely adopted to assist organisations in creating and participating in inter-organisational sharing efforts to protect against cyber attacks. Measuring the effectiveness and success of these platforms is critical to understanding how such products and services should be designed, implemented and used. Nevertheless, it is a fact that research and practice lack a common understanding of factors influencing the success of threat intelligence management platforms. To investigate these issues, we adopted the DeLone and McLean information system success model to threat intelligence sharing and employed a survey-based approach to collect data from 152 security professionals for its empirical assessment. Subsequently, we identified several factors that are decisive for the organisational success of a threat intelligence management platform.

Does trust in e-government influence the performance of e-government? An integration of information system success model and public value theory

PurposeThis study aims to examine the usefulness of trust in e-government to influence the use and success of e-government services within the context of the information system (IS) success model and public value theory.Design/methodology/approachThe study proposed a conceptual model comprising 17 hypotheses tested using structural equation modelling-partial least squares. Data was collected through a structured questionnaire from 369 e-government users from Nigeria.FindingsThe results show that trust in e-government is directly influenced by all information quality, service quality and actual use. Also, trust in e-government predicts the public value of e-government, among other variables. Trust in e-government mediates the relationship between the quality dimensions and the public value of e-government. Also, the quality dimensions predict the actual use and user satisfaction with e-government. The most significant effect was established in the relationship between trust in e-government and the public value of e-government.Research limitations/implicationsThis study used a targeted and small sample size compared to the teledensity of Nigeria, limiting analysis that might influence the relevance of the variables’ relationships. Other individual characteristics such as self-efficacy and access to information and communication technologies (ICT) and digital literacy were not included in the study.Practical implicationsIt is expected that public service managers and ICT implementers would learn and take advantage of the system’s strengths and limitations and resolve expectations to enhance its value.Originality/valueThis study extended the DeLone and Mclean IS success model to incorporate public values as the net benefits of e-government. The public value of e-government was treated as a second-order construct.

Successful Applications Analysis System at PT. Carefastindo Sumbagut Region Using Structural Equation Model

To increase productivity and help achieve quality, time standards, and satisfaction for both consumers and employees within the company can be assisted by applying information technology. The implementation of Enterprise Resort Planning at PT Carefastindo Sumbagut Region needs to be measured for the quality of its use so that the level of success of its implementation is known. The research was conducted by taking samples of employees of PT Carefastindo Sumbagut Region who are ERP users. To measure the success rate of ERP implementation at PT Carefastindo, the main instrument of data collection is a questionnaire and is measured by a Likert scale. The number of respondents in this study were 95 respondents. The data analysis method used is the Structural Equation Model (SEM) with the DeLone and McLean information system success model approach. The results of this study indicate that the ERP implementation model at PT Carefastindo Sumbagut Region is influenced by three variables, namely: system quality, information quality and net benefit.

Exploring the Formation of Mobile Travel Website Quality and Predicting its Influence on Travelers’ Behavioral Intentions

ABSTRACT Mobile travel websites have become an alternative due to readiness compared to mobile applications. However, little is known about what constitutes mobile website quality (MWQ) and how it influences consumers’ post-purchase behavioral intentions. By modifying the updated DeLone and McLean Information System Success Model, this study fills this knowledge gap with a formative model. The study also examines how mobile service quality influences travelers’ intentions to reuse and recommend and further compares the differences across online travel agencies and direct suppliers. Using a mixed research method including individual interviews and online survey responses, the results of partial least squares structural equation modeling support that MWQ has three formative constructs, namely, information, system and service qualities. A few uncommon items composing MWQ are discovered. This study contributes to the extant literature by introducing a novel MWQ model, as well as by advocating dissimilar methodologies of MWQ analysis. Practical suggestions are also provided for tourism practitioners to gain sustainable competitiveness.

A Conceptual model of E-Taxation satisfaction: How can taxpayers be tickled pink with the smart Web-Based taxation application?

Governments globally have adopted various types of E-Taxation systems as part of E-Government plans in providing taxpayers a media to lodge tax claims at their ease. As this article is concerned with user satisfaction, a critical analysis of satisfaction literature related to Information Systems (IS), E-Taxation, E-Government, and technology in general, has been thoroughly done. For instance, technology such as Artificial Intelligence is being introduced in practically all aspects of society, including E-Taxation. This led to the understanding of how different researchers have theorized the ‘Satisfaction’ concept in the related areas. We focused on identifying the factors that constitute user satisfaction with the E-Taxation system. As a result, it is discovered that to date, limited studies have been devoted to evaluating user satisfaction with E-Taxation systems. Also, we found the emergence of several dimensions that require further investigation. Therefore, in this article, a conceptual model to evaluate E-Taxation satisfaction among taxpayers is proposed based on DeLone and McLean IS Success Model (D&M). Finally, we urged that the model should be empirically validated so that it will be practical to be adopted to guide local government to improve the quality of services delivered through E-Taxation systems.

Understanding the factors of mobile payment continuance intention: empirical test in an African context

Few studies have been conducted about individuals’ continuance to use m-payment, especially in an African context. This study investigates the continuance intention to use m-payment, employing two theoretical models: the DeLone and McLean information system (D&M IS) success model and the expectation-confirmation model (ECM) in an African context. We collected 338 questionnaires through an online survey to evaluate and validate the proposed theoretical model, using partial least squares – structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM). Our results indicate that the most important predictors of continuance intention to use m-payment are individual performance, use, and satisfaction. The results present useful insight to understand continuance intentions toward mobile payment in an African context. The integration of D&M IS success model, and the ECM model is to allow us to understand the main factors affecting the continuance intention to use mobile payment in the African context. By combining these two models we show how to compensate for and complement the weaknesses and strengths of the models, solidifying our findings of continuance intention with a stronger model that is otherwise not possible.

Integrating the Information Systems Success Model With Project Success Management Process

DeLone and McLean information systems success model has become a reference for explaining the success of information systems (IS). Attempts to apply and test the model have resulted in both confirmation and challenges. One of those challenges is how to translate the learnings from this model into actionable knowledge. This position paper proposes the integration of the information systems success model with the success management process as a way of getting synergies from both models and improving the study and practice of IS projects. Moreover, the authors present several examples of IS success measures to be used in practice.

Evaluation of E-Learning Implementation During the Covid-19 with the DeLone and McLean Models

During the Covid pandemic the learning process was carried out using e-learning media. SMK TI Airlangga Samarinda is one of the schools that has used e-learning in its learning process both before the Covid pandemic. Furthermore, an evaluation of the success of e-learning implementation will be carried out using the DeLone and McLean information system success model (D&M IS Success Model). In this model, there are six measurement variables, namely system quality, information quality, service quality, usage, user satisfaction, and net benefits. The purpose of this study is to provide an overview of the use of e-learning at SMK TI Airlangga Samarinda to the school and to find out the factors that influence the successful implementation of e-learning at SMK TI Airlangga Samarinda. To achieve this goal, SEM-PLS analysis (structural equation model - partial least square) is used. The subjects used were 336 students of SMK TI Airlangga Samarinda. The sampling technique used in this study was purposive sampling, with consideration of the availability of data obtained a sample of 192. Data collection techniques in this study using questionnaires, interviews, and literature study. The results of this study indicate that the quality of information and system quality in e-learning has a positive effect on the satisfaction of using e-learning which in turn has an effect on the benefits felt by students while using e-learning. In addition, the quality of the e-learning system also has a positive effect on the intensity of e-learning use, which means that the better the quality of the system will increase the intensity of e-learning use.

EMIS Success Modeling Using Information Systems Quality Factors

This study validates the DeLone and McLean information systems (IS) success model in the context of education management information system (EMIS). It develops a model to examine the effect of IS quality factors (system quality, information quality, and service quality) on IS success (use, user satisfaction, and net benefit) of EMIS. The study employs purposive sampling technique to select participants and a validated structural questionnaire to collect data from 100 users of EMIS. Employing three multiple regression models, the results show that there is a statistical significant relationship between system quality, information quality, service quality, use, and user satisfaction. Overall, among the six constructs measured, the impact of system quality, information quality, and use significantly improve the net benefits of EMIS. However, service quality contributes insignificantly to user satisfaction.

Analysis the Effect of Information Quality, System Quality, and Service Quality on Digital Wallet User Satisfaction of Students in Jakarta

The purpose of this research is to find out whether there is an effect between information quality, system quality, dan service quality on user satisfaction, and how much the effect on user satisfaction of digital wallet of students in Jakarta. This research uses quantitative methods with 100 students in Jakarta who use digital wallet as respondents. Measurement of user satisfaction is conducted based on DeLone and McLean information systems success model, which includes Information Quality, System Quality, and Service Quality. Based on research results, information quality, system quality, and service quality have significant effect on digital wallet user satisfaction of students in Jakarta with 90,1% effect percentages.

Quality factors and performance outcome of cloud-based marketing system

PurposeThis study aims to propose an integrated model based on the DeLone and McLean Information System Success Model (DMISS) to examine whether quality factors (system, service and information) can affect user satisfaction and performance of cloud-based marketing systems.Design/methodology/approachRecently, technologies change quickly, innovation becomes a vital base of productivity and sustainable growth of businesses is widely accepted. Cyber-physical system technologies help industries change production and marketing cycles according to customers’ needs in real-time. In addition, processing information through cloud service helps companies meet customer needs. The advantages of cloud technology also make it easier for companies to quickly collect the latest data from various sources, making it more effective in decision-making. This research recommends cloud-based marketing to help companies maximize their revenue by providing useful information and better quality for business development. The data were gathered from China automotive companies’ customers. A total of 220 questionnaires were distributed, and 165 (82.5%) usable questionnaires were analyzed using structural equation modeling.FindingsThis study verified that costumers’ perceived information quality, system quality and service quality positively caused the user satisfaction in the cloud-based marketing system.Practical implicationsThis paper presents beneficial advice for improving cloud-based marketing systems. Besides, the topic is relevant to cloud-based marketing systems’ success. A better understanding of the impact of intention to use and user satisfaction on cloud-based marketing systems could significantly enhance companies’ success. This paper’s theoretical and practical contributions are expressed to guide organizations and policymakers in increasing cloud-based marketing systems acceptance.Originality/valueThis study empirically tests the relationship of quality factors and performance outcome of cloud-based marketing system through a model based on DeLone and McLean theory. This study bridges the research gap by identifying the factors that drive the adoption of cloud-based services in marketing and the impact of user satisfaction and intention to use on the cloud-based marketing system performance in the case of china companies.

Investigating the determinants and process of destination management system (DMS) implementation

PurposeThis study aims to propose a comprehensive model to help understand factors influencing the intention to participate in a destination management system (DMS) amongst tourism stakeholders in Vietnam which are considered as the determinants of the successful implementation of the system.Design/methodology/approachA survey was conducted to investigate key stakeholders' opinions of participating in a DMS. In total, 301 questionnaires were used for analysis. Partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) was used to assess the measurement and structural models of the study.FindingsFactors that influence various tourism stakeholders' intention to participate in the national DMS in Vietnam have been identified and examined. The results identify the important predictors of the tourism stakeholders' participation in the DMS including information quality, DMS operator readiness, government regulations and technology awareness. Interestingly, technology awareness was ascertained as a significant mediator for the relationship between performance expectancy, social influence, technology competency, competitive pressure and the intention to participate in the DMS.Originality/valueThis study has a unique theoretical contribution by developing a comprehensive model to predict the intention to participate in a DMS amongst tourism stakeholders with the modification and combination of three theoretical models and frameworks: the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) model, technology–organisation–environment (TOE) framework and updated DeLone and McLean information systems (D&M IS) success model. It is expected to be a useful reference source for tourism management departments that want to develop DMSs in Vietnam. This model also can be used as an initial investigation for DMS implementation studies at other destinations.

Physicians' Use of the Computerized Physician Order Entry System for Medication Prescribing: Systematic Review.

BackgroundComputerized physician order entry (CPOE) systems in health care settings have many benefits for prescribing medication, such as improved quality of patient care and patient safety. However, to achieve their full potential, the factors influencing the usage of CPOE systems by physicians must be identified and understood.ObjectiveThe aim of this study is to identify the factors influencing the usage of CPOE systems by physicians for medication prescribing in their clinical practice.MethodsWe conducted a systematic search of the literature on this topic using four databases: PubMed, CINAHL, Ovid MEDLINE, and Embase. Searches were performed from September 2019 to December 2019. The retrieved papers were screened by examining the titles and abstracts of relevant studies; two reviewers screened the full text of potentially relevant papers for inclusion in the review. Qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods studies with the aim of conducting assessments or investigations of factors influencing the use of CPOE for medication prescribing among physicians were included. The identified factors were grouped based on constructs from two models: the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology model and the Delone and McLean Information System Success Model. We used the Mixed Method Appraisal Tool to assess the quality of the included studies and narrative synthesis to report the results.ResultsA total of 11 articles were included in the review, and 37 factors related to the usage of CPOE systems were identified as the factors influencing how physicians used CPOE for medication prescribing. These factors represented three main themes: individual, technological, and organizational.ConclusionsThis study identified the common factors that influenced the usage of CPOE systems by physicians for medication prescribing regardless of the type of setting or the duration of the use of a system by participants. Our findings can be used to inform implementation and support the usage of the CPOE system by physicians.

Effect of Student Satisfaction on e-learning Quality and Learning Outcome Among Malaysian Undergraduate Nursing Students

E-learning has become an important and ubiquitous instructional tool across a broad range of programmes in institutions of higher education (IHE). For instance, this is evident today in nursing education whereby e-learning in a blended mode approach provides both enormous and flexible opportunities for working nurses to further their education and to engage in continuous professional development for life-long learning. A pilot study was conducted to test the feasibility of participant recruitment, data collection process, and online survey in an e-learning education programme in Malaysia. The conceptual framework developed for the study was based on DeLone and McLean Information Systems Success Model to examine any mediation effect of student satisfaction on e-learning quality and learning outcome among nursing undergraduates in a local e-learning programme. The Partial Least Squares approach was used to analyse the possible effects on the relationships among the variables studied. The exploration process to determine the feasibility of the preliminary online survey has helped to contribute to the main study to be conducted in an e-learning nursing context. The findings revealed that there were significant relationships between the dimensions of system quality and service quality with student satisfaction and learning outcome. The results showed that there was a mediating effect of student satisfaction on the relationship between e-learning quality and learning outcome. The study emphasises the importance for an initial understanding of the learning environmental needs of learners to provide a credible and meaningful learning experience for working nurses in e-learning nursing programmes.

ADAPTATION OF DELONE AND MCLEAN MODEL FOR ERP SYSTEM QUALITY EVALUATION

This paper aims to determine whether the DeLone and McLean information system success model (D&M model) can be used to evaluate the quality of Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP system). The study examines the dimensions of the D&M model, adapted for empirical evaluation of ERP system quality by end-users of ERP systems in enterprises. The quality of ERP systems is measured by comparing answers to questions that serve to determine the degree of quality of each dimension of ERP system quality. The research was conducted on 335 medium and large companies in Bosnia and Herzegovina, for which it has been confirmed in the pilot research to have an ERP system that they have used for more than two years. A survey questionnaire is used to investigate the quality of the ERP system from the perspective of the middle and top management of the companies that use information from the ERP system for decision making. The empirical research has confirmed that the D&M model of information system success, with some adjustments, can be used to investigate the quality of ERP systems. The main limitation of the research is the lack of a database of companies using ERP systems that makes the data collection phase more difficult and more complex. Regardless of this, the proposed model can be used to evaluate the quality of ERP systems, but also some other types of information systems in future research, such as BI and CRM systems.
