The present study aimed to predict entrepreneurial intention based on job self-efficacy, considering the mediating role of spiritual intelligence among upper secondary school students. In terms of purpose, the research was applied; regarding data type, it was quantitative; and in terms of design (nature), it was descriptive-analytical with a correlational approach. The statistical population included all upper secondary school students in Qom city during the 2023–2024 academic year. A sample of 500 respondents was selected using the minimum sample size calculation in structural equation modeling and a multistage cluster random sampling method. Data collection utilized standardized questionnaires: the Entrepreneurial Intention Questionnaire by Liñán and Chen (2009), the Job Self-Efficacy Scale by Riggs and Knight (1994), and the Spiritual Intelligence Self-Report Inventory (SISRI-24) by King (2008). To assess validity, content validity (Lawshe's method) and construct validity, including convergent validity (AVE > 0.5) and discriminant validity (MSV < AVE, ASV < AVE, HTMT < 0.85), were employed. Internal consistency reliability was evaluated using Cronbach's alpha, composite reliability, and McDonald's omega coefficients (α, CR, ω > 0.7). Findings indicated that the research instruments possessed acceptable validity and reliability. Data analysis was conducted using Pearson correlation and structural equation modeling. The results demonstrated that the direct effect of job self-efficacy (β = 0.64, p < 0.001) on entrepreneurial intention was significant. Additionally, spiritual intelligence played a significant mediating role in the relationship between job self-efficacy (β = 0.53, p < 0.001) and entrepreneurial intention. The research model exhibited a good fit (RMSEA = 0.03, SRMR = 0.05, p > 0.05), explaining 73% of the variance in entrepreneurial intention. Based on these findings, it is recommended to utilize the results of this study to enhance entrepreneurial intention among upper secondary school students. Furthermore, the outcomes can assist educational policymakers in designing comprehensive and effective programs to foster entrepreneurship in the younger generation.

Objective: The present research aimed to analyze the handcrafted face shields donated by the philanthropic group “Amor em Foco” to health professionals regarding the variables contained in ANVISA’s n° 356 resolution, which concern: comfort, not causing accidents, stability and adjustment. Furthermore, the present study also analyzed the variables cost, production time and quantity of facial protectors manufactured. Methods: Cross-sectional, descriptive and inferential study which included 45 health professionals. Data was obtained from establishments which are under custody of the Municipal Health Department of Belém, carried out between August and December 2020 through a survey containing 5 questions on a 5-point Likert scale. The internal consistency of the questionnaire was tested using Cronbach's Alpha and McDonald's Omega Coefficient. Data were analyzed using Jamovi software, with a significance level of 5%, with the exception of univariate analyzes of the regressions performed (conservative significance level of 20%). Results: A high level of satisfaction was obtained in the variables tested: 96% for “comfort”, 98% for “does not cause accidents”, 95% for “stability during use”, 89% for “ease of elastic adjustment” and 100% of “recommendation for other health professionals”. The homemade face shields proved to be more affordable and with less production time compared to other authorized models (19 times lower cost and 27 times lower production time than 3D printed models). Conclusion: The face shields donated by “Amor em foco” were able to provide a temporary solution during COVID-19 pandemic aligned with the variables advocated by ANVISA.

ObjectiveThe concept of “compensatory belief” pertains to an individual's conviction that the negative consequences of a specific behavior can be counteracted by engaging in a subsequent positive behavior. This study sought to devise a scale tailored to gauge compensatory beliefs concerning internet instant gratification behaviors. MethodsUtilizing the Credamo online questionnaire platform, data were amassed from two distinctive cohorts: organizational employees and college students. A collective 1064 responses were amassed. ResultsThe newly created Compensatory Belief Scale for Internet Instant Gratification Behavior was bifurcated into two versions: one tailored for employees (CBS-IIGB-E) and the other for college students (CBS-IIGB-S). Through an exploratory factor analysis, two factors were discerned, namely “Compensatory Beliefs for Working/Studying " and “Compensatory Beliefs for Resting”. A confirmatory factor analysis validated this two-factor model with the following metrics for the employee version: SBχ2 = 54.88, df = 32, CFI = 0.974, TLI = 0.964, RMSEA = 0.064, SRMR = 0.047, and for the student version: SBχ2 = 19.26,df = 19,CFI = 0.999,TLI = 0.999,RMSEA = 0.008,SRMR = 0.033. The scores on the Internet Addiction Scale and the Smartphone Addiction Scale showed a positive correlation with the overall scores of the CBS-IIGB-E and the scores of its two factors. Conversely, the scores on the Self-control Scale exhibited a negative correlation with the total scores of the CBS-IIGB-E and the scores of its two factors. The correlation pattern with the criterion scales for the CBS-IIGB-S mirrored that of the CBS-IIGB-E, with the exception that the Self-control Scale only correlated with the two factors and not the overall score of the CBS-IIGB-S. The McDonald's Omega coefficients for the two factors of the CBS-IIGB-E were 0.84 and 0.86 respectively, and those for the CBS-IIGB-S were 0.82 and 0.87 respectively. Both scales demonstrated a test-retest reliability of 0.76. Significant differences in the scale scores across diverse target groups were observed in the simulation game of internet instant gratification behavior, thereby validating the predictive validity of the developed scales. ConclusionThe Compensatory Belief Scale for Internet Instant Gratification Behavior (CBS-IIGB) is a reliable and valid tool for measuring compensatory belief in situations where the allure of immediate internet gratification comes into conflict with long-term objectives, among both organizational employees (CBS-IIGB-E) and college students (CBS-IIGB-S).

There are no validated instruments in Spain for measuring parental feeding styles. The aim was to validate the Parental Feeding Styles Questionnaires (PFSQ) in a Spanish sample. A total of 523 mothers of 523 school-children participated. The children had a mean age of 4.4 years (SD = 1.3), with 51% being boys (M = 4.3 years, SD = 1.4) and 49% girls (M = 4.5 years, = SD 1.3). The PFSQ and the Comprehensive General Parenting Styles Questionnaire (CGPQ) were used. A model of four correlated factors was identified: Prompting/encouraging eating, emotional feeding, instrumental feeding, and control over eating. Cronbach's alpha for the subscales ranged from 0.64 to 0.86, and McDonald's Omega coefficient ranged from 0.66 to 0.86. Emotional feeding and prompting/encouraging eating had values above 0.70, control over eating had a value of 0.68 and instrumental feeding had an alpha coefficient of 0.64 and omega coefficient of 0.66. The factor structure was similar to the original and to other adapted versions. The Spanish sample used more control over eating and prompting/encouraging to eat. The adapted PFSQ is a suitable instrument for assessing the feeding styles of Spanish parents.

BackgroundThe original Family Resilience Scale (FRS) is a reliable tool to assess family resilience. However, the FRS is based on the United States and parental context. Thus, the usefulness of the FRS for the adolescent and young adult population in Asian countries, particularly Malaysia remains unknown. This study translated the FRS into the Malay language and validated it on Malaysian adolescents and young adults to identify its potential as a self-report tool to assess the resilience level of their family.MethodsA total of 351 participants (Mage = 19.75, SDage = 3.29) were recruited in the study using purposive sampling. Confirmatory factor analysis was conducted to examine the factorial structure of the Family Resilience Scale-Malay (FRS-Malay) and measurement invariance between adolescents and young adults. Then, the scale’s reliability was investigated using Cronbach’s alpha, McDonald’s omega coefficients, and composite reliability index. Finally, we examined the discriminant validity of the FRS-Malay by correlating its score with individual resilience score and examined the incremental validity of the scale using hierarchical multiple regression analysis to test if family resilience can explain individual well-being levels beyond and above individual resilience.ResultsThe findings of the confirmatory factor analysis suggest that a single-factor model is supported for both age groups. Furthermore, the scale exhibited scalar invariance between adolescents and young adults. The scale also exhibited good reliability, as the value of Cronbach’s alpha, McDonald omega coefficients, and composite reliability index were above 0.80. Additionally, the Pearson correlation analysis showed a positive correlation between the FRS-Malay and individual resilience scores, which supports the discriminant validity of the scale. Similarly, the incremental validity of the scale is also supported. Specifically, family resilience had a positive correlation with well-being, even after controlling for individual resilience in the regression analysis.ConclusionsThe FRS-Malay has demonstrated good reliability and validity. The scale measures the same construct of family resilience across adolescents and young adults, making it suitable for comparisons. Therefore, this unidimensional tool is appropriate for self-reporting their perceived level of family resilience. It is also useful for studying the development and fluctuation of family resilience in the Malaysian context.

This study aims to evaluate the psychometric properties of the Sport Anxiety Scale-2 (SAS-2) in Chinese adolescent sports exam candidates. One day before the National Sports College Entrance Examination, 965 Chinese athletes rated the Chinese-language SAS-2. Confirmatory factor analysis was performed to test the three-factor structure. Factorial invariance was tested by comparing the configural invariance model to three more constrained models. Construct validity and reliability were determined. Fit indices meet the critical values: CFI = 0.953, TLI = 0.943, RMSEA = 0.048 [90% CI, 0.041-0.054], and SRMR = 0.042. All path factor loadings exceed 0.5. The changes in CFI and RMSEA across the configural, metric, scalar, and uniqueness invariance are within the critical values, demonstrating strict measurement invariance across gender, years of training, and type of sports. The average variance extracted of the worry sub-scale is above the cutoff criteria, and McDonald's omega coefficients are over 0.70. Significant correlations exist between the SAS-2, SCAT, and CSAI-2. Factor correlations are all below 0.8. The measurement also distinguishes the known gender effect, with females showing a probability of 58.6% higher anxiety levels. The intraclass correlation coefficient ranges from 0.706 to 0.801. This study validated the Chinese-language SAS-2 in measuring competitive anxiety among Chinese adolescent athletes taking the National Sports College Entrance Examination. The development of the scale's applicability in China is discussed.

In this study, it was aimed to develop a valid and reliable measurement tool to be used for 3rd and 4th grade primary school students to evaluate positive discourse in teaching processes. For the study, an item pool was created by reviewing the literature on discourse and positive discourse. The prepared items were made ready after expert evaluations and pre-application to students. After the scale was applied, exploratory factor analysis was performed within the scope of validity and it was concluded that it had 4 sub-dimensions consisting of 25 items explaining 51% of the total variance. Then, confirmatory factor analysis was performed and it was concluded that the chi-square value (χ 2/sd ) was 1.87, SRMR value was 0.05, TLI value was 0.88 and CFI value was 0.9. It was found that the scale was compatible with this structure. At the same time, Cronbach Alpha value and McDonald's Omega coefficient were calculated in the reliability calculations of the scale. It was concluded that the Cronbach Alpha value for the whole Positive Discourse in Teaching Scale was 0.91 and McDonald's Omega coefficient was 0.91. It can be stated that the scale is a valid and reliable measurement tool for primary school 3rd and 4th grade students. This scale was developed to enable primary school students to evaluate positive discourse. Considering the teaching process, a scale can also be developed for teachers to determine the level of student’s positive discourse.

The aim of this study was to translate the Athletes' Received Support Questionnaire (ARSQ) for Chinese athletes and examine the reliability and validity of the ARSQ with Chinese subjects. In this study, we conducted a forward-backward translation of the ARSQ and used data collected from Chinese athletes to perform exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses. A total of 580 Chinese athletes completed the formal ARSQ for the confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), while 230 athletes participated in the preliminary survey. Of the 580 athletes, 571 provided valid questionnaires for assessing validity and reliability. Additionally, we assessed test-retest reliability using data from 200 participants randomly selected after 1 month. The criterion measurement used in this study was the Social Support Rate Scale (SSRS). Results of the exploratory factor analysis showed that the Chinese version of the ARSQ with 22 items had four-dimensional structures including emotional support, esteem support, information support, and tangible support. CFA showed that the Chinese version of the ARSQ had adequate structural validity (χ2/df = 2.315, CFI = 0.971, GFI = 0.902, NFI = 0.959, AGFI = 0.878, RMSEA = 0.064, SRMR = 0.032). Cronbach's α coefficient, McDonald's omega coefficient and the test-retest reliability were 0.956, 0.957, and 0.953 for the total scale. The study provides evidence in support of construct (factorial) validity, convergent validity, internal-consistency and test-retest stability for the use of the ARSQ among Chinese athletes in the Jiangsu and Shandong Provinces, China. However, it is important to note that the conclusion is delimited to the current context, and further studies are needed to verify and promote the applicability of the ARSQ in other regions and sports projects.

Several Ghanaian studies have examined prostate cancer knowledge, attitudes and beliefs. However, none of these studies was conducted in women except our previous study which served as the third stage in the development of a local robust tool, PCaKAB-Gh, to assess women's knowledge about prostate cancer. Although the subject had previously been studied in Ghana, none of the studies utilized a psychometrically valid tool and focused on involving women in the early detection of prostate cancer. For this purpose, we performed a psychometric study on a 41-item tool to improve robustness. The study which was the final stage of the tool development process employed a cross-sectional approach and conveniently recruited 500 participants. Statistical analysis to assess the reliability and construct validity of the tool was performed. The factors of the tool had Cronbach's alpha and McDonald's omega coefficients of 0.53 – 0.78 and reflected favourable internal consistency. The Exploratory Factor Analysis, using the Principal Component Analysis with Varimax with Kaiser Normalization, generated 5 factors with itemized factor loadings of 0.44 – 0.80, Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin Measure of Sampling Adequacy of 0.857, and a significant Bartlett's Test of Sphericity (2293.448, p-value < 0.001). A variance of 55.3% was explained. The Confirmatory Factor Analysis had a Root Mean Square Error of Approximation and a Standardized Root Mean Square Residual below 0.050, and a Comparative Fit Index and a Tucker-Lewis Index above 0.900 which indicated satisfactory fit indices (p-value < 0.001). The study successfully developed a 24-item psychometrically valid tool, with 5 factors, to be used to study the knowledge, attitudes, and beliefs about prostate cancer among Ghanaian women. The availability of the PCaKAB-Gh tool, the first of its kind, would permit the active involvement of women in improving the early detection of prostate cancer to reduce the cost of therapy and improve management outcomes.

BackgroundThe Social Emotional Distress Scale-Secondary (SEDS-S) is a short measure designed for comprehensive school-based mental health screening, particularly for using very brief self-reported measures of well-being and distress. Whereas prior studies have shown validity and reliability evidence for the English version, there is a lack of literature about its psychometric properties for Spanish-speaking youths.ObjectiveTo examine the psychometric properties of the SEDS-S in a large sample of Spanish adolescents, providing evidence of its reliability, structure, convergent and discriminant validity, longitudinal and gender measurement invariance, and normative data.MethodsParticipants were 5550 adolescents aged 12–18 years old. Test–retest reliability was examined using Cronbach’s alpha and McDonald’s omega coefficients, and evidence for convergent and discriminant validity was measured using Pearson’s correlation. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was used to examine structure validity, while multigroup and longitudinal measurement invariance analysis was conducted for longitudinal and gender latent structure stability.ResultsThe CFA supported a unidimensional latent structure, which was also observed to be invariant between gender groups and over time. The scale showed evidence of reliability, with coefficients above .85. In addition, the SEDS-S score was positively related to measures assessing distress and negatively related to measures assessing well-being, thereby providing convergent/discriminant validity of the total scores.ConclusionThis study provides the first evidence of the reliability and validity of the Spanish version of the SEDS-S for assessing emotional distress among adolescents, cross-sectionally and longitudinally. Furthermore, findings indicated that SEDS-S could be a suitable assessment tool for screening and program evaluation purposes at different contexts beyond the school setting.

The purpose of this study was to adapt the computational thinking scale developed by Tsai, Liang and Hsu (2021) into Turkish in order to determine the computational thinking skill levels of secondary school students according to such basic elements defined by Selby and Woollard (2013) as abstraction, decomposition, algorithmic thinking, evaluation and generalization and to do the related validity and reliability study. A total of 454 high school students (9th – 12th grade) determined with the convenient sampling method constituted the sample of the study. The original scale was made up of 19 5-point Likert-type items. Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) was performed to examine the conformity of the data collected via the adapted scale to the five-factor structure of the original scale. As a result of CFA, it was seen that the factor structure of the original scale was preserved. The reliability of the scale was checked with the internal consistency coefficient for the whole scale and its factors. The Cronbach Alpha coefficients obtained were .84 and McDonald's omega coefficients obtained were .86. The scale's Turkish adaptation was found to be a valid and trustworthy measurement tool for establishing the computational thinking proficiency levels of students in high school.
