Collective processes involving neutrinos in unmagnetized and magnetized electron–ion plasmas are discussed. It is shown that the ponderomotive force of the neutrinos can create inhomogeneities and magnetic fields. The nonlinear coupling between the neutrinos and the plasma is attributed to the weak Fermi interaction force. The relevance of our investigation to the inhomogeneities and the primordial magnetic fields in the early universe, as well as to the anomalous absorption of neutrino energy and to the origin of super strong magnetic fields in supernovae explosions is discussed.
