Analysis of The Transformation of The District Economic System in Riau Province

This research aims to look at the economic structure transformation in each district in Riau Province. The method used is analyzing competitive advantage and specialization of Esteban Marquillass and Klassen typology. From the results of processing, it is known that agriculture, forestry, and fisheries are superior sectors, have competitiveness, and are specialized in 6 districts in Riau, namely Indragiri Hulu (Inhu), Kampar, Indragiri Hilir (Inhil), Pelalawan, Kuantan Singingi (Kuansing), and Rokan Hulu (Rohul). The manufacturing industry is a superior sector that has competitiveness and specialization in Dumai City, and the trade sector is a sector that has a competitive advantage and specialization in Pekanbaru City. Meanwhile, no single industry has a competitive advantage and specialization in 4 other districts (Siak, Bengkalis, Rokan Hilir, and Kepulauan Meranti). Processing results with the Klassen typology show that the agricultural industry in Kuansing, Inhu, and Kampar Regencies, which 2012 was developing, will shift to become a mainstay sector in 2022. In contrast, in Bengkalis, Pekanbaru, and Dumai Regencies, this sector is still one of the lagging economic sectors.

Income Inequality Analysis in Sumatra (Case Study of South Sumatera, North Sumatera, West Sumatera Province)

One indicator of an area of high economic growth is a low level of income inequality. This study aims to determine the development of income inequality that occurs in the provinces of South Sumatra, West Sumatra and North Sumatra, as well as classify and analyze the province based on economic growth and income inequality. The Data used in this study is time series and cross section data with a six-year observation period of 2018-2023 with 3 provinces in Sumatra yajni South Sumatra, West Sumatra and North Sumatra. The methods of analysis used in this study are Wiliamson index analysis, Theil Entropy index analysis, and Klassen typology analysis. With the results of the study, the average level of income inequality in 2018-2023 is in the range of 0.30 to 0.59. The highest income inequality is in the province of South Sumatra 0.59 and North Sumatra 0.45. Inequality in West Sumatra province is at 0.30 then it is categorized as moderate inequality. From Klassen's typological analysis, using the average Wiliamson index in 2018 to 2023, South Sumatra is in Quadrant II which is a fast-growing region, West Sumatra and North Sumatra are in Quadrant IV of the relatively underdeveloped region. From the results of Klassen typology analysis in 2018-2023 regencies or cities in West Sumatra province are in Quadrant II and Quadrant IV, regencies/cities in North Sumatra are in Quadrant I, quadrant II and quadrant IV. While the district / city in South Sumatra province located in Quadrant II and Quadrant IV.

Analysis of Leading Commodities of Plantation Sub-Sectors in Tanah Laut District, South Kalimantan Province

Leading commodities are crucial for understanding the potential of commodities in both national and international markets. Exceptional products can serve as distinct catalysts for regional growth. This study aims to investigate potential alternative plantation commodities, assess the development of production growth rates, analyze regional market share growth, proportional growth of net commodity growth in the plantation sub-sector, and identify the position of plantation sub-sector commodities in Tanah Laut District. Time series data from 2013 to 2021 were utilized, employing Shift Share Analysis, Location Quotient (LQ) Analysis, Dynamic Location Quotient (DLQ) Analysis, and Klassen Typology. The analysis revealed that although palm oil and cloves are basic commodities, they are experiencing a decline in perspective, whereas rubber, coconut, sugar palm, coffee, and pepper are prospective commodities for future development. Shift Share Analysis concluded that the regional market share growth of palm oil has good competitiveness and a positive Proportional Growth value, with coffee and sugar palm exhibiting rapid growth. Klassen Typology Analysis indicated that coconut, coffee, pepper, and sugar palm fall within the category of advanced but pressured sectors, while palm oil is categorized as a potential sector.

Analysis of The Leading Sector for Regional Development: A Case Study of Batam, Bintan, and Karimun (BBK), Riau Islands Province, Indonesia

Abstract: Spatial planning in Batam, Bintan, and Karimun (BBK) areas is prioritized because it has an important impact on the national economy. This research aims to identify the potential leading sectors in the BBK areas as a reference in regional development. This study uses time series data on Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) based on constant prices in the BBK areas from 2011 to 2021. The analytical tools used in this research are Location Quotient to identify basic and non-basic sectors, Shift Share Analysis to determine changes and shifts in sectors, and Klassen Typology to determine the classification of sector in each region. The three analytical tools combined results demonstrate that economic growth in Batam is supported by the processing sector. A growing sector in Bintan is related to the tourism. Economic potential in Karimun dominated by the agricultural, forestry, and marine sectors. Tanjungpinang’s economic potential is dominated by the service sector, which supports the city’s role as the capital of the Riau Islands Province. However, the fisheries sector has not developed optimally. As an archipelago, regional development policies in the BBK areas should develop other sectors to optimize the maritime economic potential. Economic Sector Study and Development Strategy for the Rebana Metropolitan Area

This research analyzed potential sectors and development strategies in each city/regency in the Rebana Metropolitan Area, from 2018 to 2022. The research method used was quantitative descriptive using several analytical methods, namely Location Quotient, Shift Share, Labor Productivity Levels per Sector, and Klassen Typology. The research results show that each district/city in the Rebana Metropolitan Area has different economic characteristics, apart from that priority infrastructure projects and industrialization which are the direction of development of the Rebana Metropolitan Area have not had a significant impact on the progress of cities/regencies in the Rebana Metropolitan Area.

Determination of Priority Sectors in Economic Development in Maluku Province

This research aims to determine priority sectors in formulating economic development policies in Maluku Province. The methods used in this research are Location Quotient (LQ), Shift Share (SS), and Klassen Typology. The research results show that based on the three methods above, the priority sectors in economic development in Maluku Province are sectors that have superiority, and competitiveness and are among advanced and rapidly developing sectors (prime sectors). These sectors are the Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries sectors, the Wholesale and Retail Trade sector, Car and Motorcycle Repairs, the Government Administration, Defense and Mandatory Social Security sectors, and the Education Services sector. This sector is a sector that absorbs a lot of workers. Apart from that, the primary sector is a sector that plays an important role in economic development in Maluku Province. The contribution of the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sectors indirectly shows that the economic structure of Maluku province is still supported by the traditional economy. Then, geographically, the vast area of Maluku Province, the majority of which is water areas; however, this sub-sector has yet to become the main support for the economy of Maluku Province. For this reason, the Maluku provincial government should prioritize the superior sectors and commodities it owns while still paying attention to other industries and commodities according to their potential and development opportunities in order to encourage the growth of Maluku Province's GRDP for future regional development. Analisis Pertumbuhan Ekonomi dan Ketimpangan Distribusi Pendapatan Provinsi Bali

This study aims to determine the Regency / City Classification in Bali Province based on the Klassen Typology, the condition of income distribution inequality between districts / cities, the relationship between income distribution inequality with per capita income, and whether the relationship forms the U-Reverse Kuznets Curve. This research is an analysis of secondary data obtained from BPS Bali Province. The analytical model used is Klassen Typology analysis, Williamson Index, Product Moment Correlation (Pearson). Klassen's Typology Results, Badung Regency and Denpasar City are included in Quadrant I area, Gianyar Regency is included in Quadrant III area, and the remaining 6 Regencies are included in Quadrant IV area. Furthermore, the Williamson Index Calculation in the Year of Observation shows that there is an imbalance in the Province of Bali which shows a downward trend. While the calculation result of Product Moment Correlation (Pearson) shows a very strong relationship between the Williamson Index and the Per capita GRDP and is negative, but the relationship does not form the Kuznets Curve to be a U-Reverse letter.

Analisis Sektor Unggulan yang Ada di Kabupaten Mojokerto Jawa Timur

This study aims to determine the leading sectors and sectors that must be prioritized in Mojokerto Regency. This study uses secondary data from Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) of Mojokerto Regency and East Java Province in 2015-2016. The analytical tools used in this study are: 1). Location Quotient Analysis (LQ), 2) Dynamiq Location Quotient Analysis (DLQ), 3) Shift-Share Analysis and 4) Klassen Typology. The results of the analysis by sector shows that the sector which is the leading sector in Mojokerto Regency with criteria classified as the base and competitive sector is the manufacturing sector. For the sectors that must be prioritized in Mojokerto Regency are the manufacturing and real estate sectors.

Analysis of Potential Regional Economic Development in Bengkulu Province in 2022

Bengkulu Province is one of the developing provinces in Indonesia. The distribution of development and economic growth is still one of the main objectives of development in Indonesia, as well as Bengkulu Province. Development and growth are still centralised in Bengkulu City, causing inequality between regions in Bengkulu Province. This research aims to identify the typology of regions in Bengkulu Province, as an evaluation material for the government in determining priority development areas based on business fields in Bengkulu Province. The research method used is quantitative with sharpened through descriptive analysis. This research uses secondary data sources obtained from BPS Bengkulu Province. Based on the existing business sectors in Bengkulu Province, the primary sector or sectors that still depend on or take advantage of natural conditions, such as; agriculture, forestry and fisheries have the largest contribution to the Bengkulu Province GRDP, which is 27.57%, then the next sector is the Wholesale and Retail Trade sector; Car and Motorcycle Repair, with an average contribution of 15.82%, and the Government Administration sector with a contribution of 8.88%. Data were analysed using Klassen's typology, by dividing or grouping into 4 (four) quadrants based on business field indicators. The results of the Klassen typology analysis in Bengkulu Province based on business fields show that there is close to equity in each sector, typology in quadrants 1, 3, and 4 consists of 5 business fields, while the typology results in quadrant 2, only consists of 2 business fields (Manufacturing, Public Administration & Defence; Compulsory Social Security).Keywords: Regional Typology; Klassen Typology; Economy; Development.

Analysis of Regional Economic Resilience through Comparative Advantages of Sectoral Growth

The objective of this study is to analyze the economic resilience of regions during the COVID-19 period that affected the Indonesian regional economy. Economic resilience can be identified by examining the development of leading sectors in the regional economy. This study uses secondary data in the form of time series using Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) data obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics of Batu City, the Central Bureau of Statistics of Malang City, and the Central Bureau of Statistics of Kediri City from 2018 to 2021. All three cities are located in East Java Province, Indonesia. The analysis in this study involves using three methods: Location Quotient, Shift Share, and Klassen typology. The analysis results reveal that Batu City and Malang City show strong competitiveness and comparative advantages. On the other hand, Kediri City demonstrates relatively low competitiveness and comparative advantage, which can be attributed to the impact of the COVID-19 shock. Additionally, research results show that the sectors in Malang City have experienced rapid growth, with all sectors developing faster than in other regions. In contrast, the sectors contributing to Batu and Kediri’s Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) have experienced delayed development. The results of this study confirm that regional economic resilience still exists through the development of sectoral businesses that contribute to the overall value of Gross Regional Domestic Product in various regencies and cities within East Java Province. Potensi Sektor Pertanian Dalam Pembangunan Wilayah Kabupaten Pasaman

Regional development aims to increase regional economic growth, reduce regional disparities and increase regional competitiveness. The agricultural sector is a sector that has an important role in the regional economy. In an effort to accelerate regional development growth, further analysis of the development of the agricultural sector is needed. The objectives of this research are 1) to analyze the development of the agricultural sector in Pasaman Regency, 2) to analyze the pattern and structure of the agricultural sector in Pasaman Regency. The analysis method used is the Entropy Diversity Index (IDE) and Klassen Typology. The results of the analysis are that the agricultural sector in Pasaman Regency is not developing because it has an IDE value < 1, rice, corn, banana and rambutan are included in the leading commodities (quadrant I), durian and palm oil are included in the potential sector (quadrant II), salak, rubber , cocoa, areca nut and coconut are included as commodities. developing (quadrant III), cassava, sweet potatoes, peanuts and oranges are among the underdeveloped sectors (quadrant IV).

How is Economic Structure Transformed? Evidence: West Kalimantan Province of Indonesia

The Covid19 pandemic hit negatives contraction in economic structure. In West Kalimantan province, despite negative growth, primary and secondary sectors surprisingly drive positives contraction on the growth of mining, electricity, and agriculture. Based on this situation, we investigate the possibility of the structural transformation process during the pandemic. We translate Lewis's transformation theory to the chart of primary, secondary, and tertiary to see how the trendlines work generally. We use Static-Dynamic Location Quotient, Klassen typology, and Shift Share analysis, then discover negatives contraction in 2020 not significantly affected each sectors, but the pattern indicates the failed of transformation process between tertiary-primary, and the primary naturally proved as the main sector in economic structure. The critical point of our finding is the failure of structural transformation process potentially caused and locked by the failure of labour shifting.

Leading Sector Development Strategy in the Economic Structure of Jambi City.

The research article titled "Leading Sector Development Strategy in the Economic Structure of Jambi City" aims to analyze the economic landscape of Jambi City and formulate data-driven policy strategies for economic development. The study utilizes a mix of quantitative and qualitative methods, including SLQ, DLQ, MRP, Overlay, Classic Shift-Share, Esteban Maquila’s Shift-Share, Klassen Typology, SWOT, IFAS, and EFAS analyses. The findings highlight promising sectors such as trade, accommodation, food and beverage services, and corporate services. The research also identifies shifts in the economic structure and competitive advantages in various sectors. DAMPAK PENDEMI COVID-19 TERHADAP DINAMIKA PEREKONOMIAN WILAYAH DI PROVINSI BALI

The mobility limitations imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic have had an impact on dynamic economic sectors that rely on population movement, one of the affected areas is Bali Province. The aims of this research are (1) Mapping the Rate of Regional Economic Growth in Bali Province before and during the Covid-19 Pandemic and (2) Mapping the Classification of Regional Economic Growth in Bali Province before and during the Covid-19 Pandemic. The method used is the Regional Economic Growth Rate and Regional Economic Development Analysis of the Klassen Typology with the main data source being based on GRDP data. In general, the region is developing rapidly which covers six districts, namely Jembrana, Tabanan, Buleleng, Bangli, Karangasem, and Klungkung and the areas that are indeed under economic pressure are the areas in Badung Regency, Denpasar City, and Gianyar Regency both in terms of the rate of economic growth and the level of regional development. where these three areas were significantly affected by the Covid-19 Pandemic.

DAMPAK EKOWISATA KAWAH PUTIH DI KECAMATAN RANCABALI BANDUNG TERHADAP SOSIO-EKONOMI MASYARAKAT DAN LINGKUNGAN SERTA STRATEGI PENGEMBANGANNYA

The high perception of Kawah Putih Ecotourism management in involving the community in economic activities still has no impact on increasing people's income and standard of living, so it is necessary to analyze the impact of Kawah Putih Ecotourism development on the socio-economy and environment of the surrounding community and its development strategy. First, it is measured with ecotourism parameters for implementation to determine the economic impact on society which is analyzed with income inequality and Klassen typology. Social impact analyzes its positive and negative impacts. The physical environment is analyzed through environmental awareness parameters and development strategies using IFE-EFE, SWOT and QSPM techniques. The results of the research evaluating the application of the principles and criteria of Crater Ecotourism obtained quite high performance results. While the economic analysis of the average per capita income of the community is relatively small for economic growth, the classification of the Klassen typology of the Kawah Putih community is still considered a disadvantaged area. The social impact of the community is categorized as moderate with a slightly larger percentage of negative impact. The level of environmental awareness is still felt to be quite high. Kawah Putih ecotourism priority strategy is to implement quality and licensed management and services by prioritizing honesty, hospitality, comfort and cleanliness to create tourist loyalty so as to improve the economy, social community is more inclined to positive impacts with high environmental awareness. Pengembangan Potensi Ekonomi dan Identifikasi Sektor Unggulan dalam Pembangunan Daerah di Kabupaten Magetan dan Kabupaten Ngawi

This study aims to identify the leading sectors in Magetan Regency and Ngawi Regency, and evaluate whether there are differences between the leading sectors in the two districts. In addition, this study also aims to understand the role of leading sectors in developing economic potential in the two districts. This research is a descriptive research that uses a quantitative approach to analyze data. The population of this study is economic sectors in Magetan Regency, Ngawi Regency, and East Java Province in the 2017-2022 period. There is no use of samples in this study because the entire object of research can be reached. Statistical analysis includes LQ, Shift Share, and Klassen typology. The results showed that Magetan and Ngawi districts were formed based on Law 12/1950. The area of Magetan is 688.84 km2 with a population from 629,609 people (2017) to 678,343 people (2022). Ngawi 1,298.58 km2 with a population from 829,899 people (2017) to 877,432 people (2022). The GDP of both increased significantly for 6 years, although it fell in 2020 due to Covid-19. Economic growth in both districts fluctuated but tended to slow down, with several sectors experiencing significant positive growth, such as the Transportation and Warehousing, Water Procurement, Waste Management, Waste and Recycling, and Other Services sectors.

Leading Commodity of Beef Cattle in West Java Province

Abstract Determining development priorities for a base commodity will make it easier for local governments to plan and make regional development policies. That is why this research aims to identify priority areas that have comparative and competitive advantages. This research method uses surveys and secondary data. The data used in this research is panel data. Panel data is a combination of time series data and cross-section data. Location selection using purposive sampling. Data analysis uses shift-share analysis and LQ (Location Question) analysis. This research shows that beef cattle have superior areas in 16 sub-districts in Zones I and II (Klassen Typology), while Zone III is a prospective area. Zone I, I, and III development strategy is: 1. Focusing development on cattle base areas, 2. Sustainable availability of feed, both forage and concentrate feed, which has good quantity and quality. 3. Local government policies. 4. Development of livestock farmer groups to increase knowledge and attitudes towards technology. 5. There are supporting institutions that work together, especially marketing institutions. Recommendations require further research on the macro and micro potential of the region.

Analysis of Gowa Regency's Leading Economic Sectors

The purpose of this research is to analyze and find out what sectors are included in the base sector, changes and shifts in the economic sector and the classification of economic sector growth in Gowa Regency. The data analysis method is Location Quotient (LQ) analysis from secondary data which is time series data for the last 4 years (2018-2021) of the Central Bureau of Statistics South Sulawesi. The results of Location Quotient (LQ), Shift Share (SS), and Klassen Typology analysis show that in Gowa Regency the leading sectors before the Covid-19 pandemic (2012-2019) were the electricity and gas procurement sector; water supply, waste management and recycling sectors; and the real estate sector. Meanwhile, there were changes during the Covid-19 pandemic (2020-2021) where the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sectors; information and communication sector; and the government administration, defense, and compulsory social security sectors are the leading sectors in Gowa Regency. Based on the analysis, these sectors are base sectors (LQ>1), competitive sectors or have high competitiveness (positive Differential Shift), and include advanced and fast-growing sectors (quadrant I).

IDENTIFIKASI SEKTOR EKONOMI UNGGULAN DI KABUPATEN KOLAKA TIMUR

The purpose of this study was to identify and analyze the leading economic sectors in East Kolaka Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province. This research uses secondary data obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) of East Kolaka Regency with a time span of 2018 to 2022. The data was analyzed using Location Quotient (LQ) analysis and Klassen typology. The results showed that the Basic Sector consists of four categories: (1) Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries; (2) Wholesale and Retail Trade, Rep. Cars and Motorcycles; (3) Adm. Government, Defense, and Compulsory Social Security; and (4) Other Services. In addition, the Klassen Typology Analysis identifies certain economic sectors as advanced. (1) Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries Sector; (2) Government Administration, Defense, and Compulsory Social Security; and (3) Other Services.
