FB2BPMN: An End-to-End Pipeline for Translating Unstructured User Feedback into BPMN Using LLM and Fuzzy Matching
  • Feb 21, 2026
  • Informatica
  • Uce Indahyanti + 2 more

Translating unstructured user feedback into Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) is challenging due to informal language, contextual ambiguity, and the lack of explicit structural cues. We present FB2BPMN, an end-to-end pipeline that combines natural language processing (NLP), large language models (LLMs), and fuzzy string matching to automatically generate BPMN elements from raw feedback. The pipeline comprises four stages: sentence structuring, fact extraction, role-activity mapping, and fuzzy-based semantic alignment. We evaluate FB2BPMN on 125 annotated feedback instances sampled from academic journal management systems. Using expert-authored BPMN as reference, FB2BPMN attains precision 0.97, recall 0.88, and F1 0.91 on element identification and accuracy 0.85 on process flow construction, outperforming a rule-based baseline. Results indicate strong structural and semantic correspondence, showing that FB2BPMN effectively bridges informal feedback and formal process representations.

  • Widiyanto Widiyanto + 1 more

Background - In the digital age and increasing access to scientific information, the ability to effectively manage references is becoming an important skill for students, researchers, and academics. The development of information technology has presented various reference management software that can help users in organizing literature, automating the citation process, and minimizing errors in writing scientific papers. However, there are still many academics who have not mastered the optimal use of the application due to the limitations of training, the complexity of application features, and the limited structured learning resources. Research Urgency - With the increasing demand for scientific publications and the need for quality academic writing, accessible and systematic learning media are needed to improve reference management competency. Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) offer an open, flexible, and accessible online learning environment for participants from a wide variety of backgrounds. Therefore, developing a MOOC on reference management is crucial to provide structured learning resources, enhance learning independence, and assist academics and researchers in managing citations and bibliographies more efficiently and accurately. Research Objectives - This study aims to develop a MOOC on Reference Management. Research Method - Utilizing the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation), the research has reached the development phase. In the analysis phase, learning needs were identified through interviews with students, lecturers, and journal management practitioners. The interviews revealed that participants required a deeper understanding of reference management software, proper citation principles, and efficient reference management techniques. In the design phase, the focus was on formulating learning competencies, constructing a competency map, and designing materials and assignments that support the achievement of learning objectives. Research Findings - The validation results indicated a very high level of validity, with a percentage of 90% for content experts and 88% for media experts, placing this MOOC in the "highly valid" category and ready for use without revision. The user trial involved students, lecturers, and practitioners, who provided positive feedback regarding accuracy, time efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Research Conclusion - Based on these findings, the Reference Management MOOC is recommended for implementation with ongoing evaluation and feedback to ensure its relevance and effectiveness. Research Novelty/Contribution - The development of a MOOC specifically designed to improve reference management competency in scientific writing. This MOOC provides structured, flexible, and widely accessible learning, thus providing a more effective training alternative than conventional training.

Higher education institutions in archipelagic regions face persistent challenges in scientific journal governance, limiting the visibility of lecturers’ scholarly contributions and constraining institutional publication capacity. STKIP Hunimua, located in the Maluku archipelagic region of Indonesia, experiences similar constraints, particularly in the absence of systematically and sustainably managed internal journal platforms. This community service initiative was conducted under the “Teaching Assistance 2025” Program of Pattimura University at STKIP Hunimua, East Seram Regency, Maluku Province. The program aimed to initiate and strengthen scientific journal development through structured academic mentoring. A participatory assistance approach was employed, actively engaging partner lecturers in scientific writing workshops, journal governance training, strategic planning discussions, and the facilitation of a journal management team. The program resulted in the establishment of two scholarly journals – HUNIMUA: Jurnal Pendidikan Kepulauan and UKARBATI: Jurnal Pengabdian Kepulauan – along with the development of an Open Journal System (OJS)-based platform (https://journal.stkiphunimua.ac.id). Additionally, lecturers demonstrated increased literacy and engagement in scholarly publishing practices. Beyond producing tangible outputs in the form of online journals, the initiative fostered a more proactive academic culture and strengthened institutional commitment to sustainable journal management. This program contributes to enhancing the academic capacity of higher education institutions in remote island contexts and demonstrates that collaborative, structured interventions can effectively establish viable scientific publication platforms, thereby supporting equitable participation in the digital transformative era in alignment with the vision of “Impactful Campus – Advanced Indonesia”.

  • Ahmad Shaheen + 4 more

Purpose: This study models how open-source large language model (LLM) recommender interaction quality (personalisation and responsiveness) affects Gen Z online purchase decisions through trust, AI familiarity, and privacy concerns using the Stimulus-Organism-Response (SOR) framework. Design/Methodology/Approach: We have conducted a Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) analysis of 570 Gen Z online shoppers from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Qatar. Findings: Interaction quality improved trust (β=0.2585) and AI familiarity (β=0.2943) while increasing privacy concerns (β=0.5499). Purchase intention was positively influenced by trust (β=0.2848) and privacy concerns (β=0.3583). AI familiarity showed no direct impact (β=0.0477). Model explained 47% variance in purchase intention. Originality/Value: Few studies examined trust-privacy dynamics for open-source LLM recommenders across four economies. Research Implications: SOR theory application reveals trust mediates positively while high interaction quality increases privacy concerns among Gen Z. Practical Implications: Retailers should optimise interaction quality while implementing transparency and user control mechanisms to address heightened privacy concerns. Keywords: Open-Source LLMs; E-Commerce Interaction Quality; Trust-Privacy; SOR Model; Gen Z; Middle East Shopping. Citation: Shaheen, A., Omeish, F., AlGhamdi, D. S., Khataan, A. and Awad, A. • Stephen Dunne + 1 more

Abstract This paper discusses the achievements, the possibilities, and the challenges of Platonic business ethics. Through a systematic scoping review of 695 articles published in 13 business and management journals, it undertakes a knowledge-stock analysis of the almost complete range of Plato’s written texts that have influenced business ethicists and identifies five prominent ways in which they have applied his work. It finds that Plato’s Republic has had the most enduring influence throughout the history of the discipline and details how Plato’s work has been applied to ethical, philosophical, political, managerial, and methodological considerations. Through a brief reading of Protagoras , we highlight the ambiguity of Plato’s dialogical approach to contemporary business ethicists. We then close with Plato’s Ion , indicating difficulties in initiating such dialogues.

This study aims to analyze the concept and process of human resource (HR) recruitment and selection in Islamic educational institutions, identify effective strategies such as needs planning and the use of digital media, and their application based on Islamic values, including Al-Qur'an memorization tests and moral character evaluation to improve the quality of education holistically. The research method used a descriptive qualitative approach through a literature study of 15 scientific journal references and HR management books from 2021-2025, with in-depth content analysis and source triangulation to ensure the validity and reliability of the findings. The results show that recruitment and selection involve stages of HR planning, widespread vacancy announcements, and multi-layered selection such as administration, written competency tests, in-depth interviews, and microteaching, supported by transparent strategies through school websites, social media, and multidisciplinary teams to reduce subjectivity. The discussion highlights key challenges in Indonesia, such as a lack of transparency in the recruitment process, uneven distribution of teachers in remote areas, and adaptation to educational technology, which can be overcome through a holistic approach combining professional competence, moral integrity, and Islamic character so that teachers are not only intellectually intelligent but also role models of noble character for students. The conclusion states that the recruitment-selection process is fundamental to producing high-quality and sustainable educational human resources, with recommendations for developing a competency-based digital system, recruiter training, and periodic evaluation of teacher performance after recruitment in Islamic educational institutions.

Professional scientific journal management requires transparent, inclusive, and data-driven governance practices, including in terms of author involvement based on gender. This article aims to analyze the involvement of male and female authors in Berekeng journal publications as part of the reflection and contribution of the scientific journal management profession. The method used is quantitative descriptive analysis that analyzes the dynamics of gender participation in scientific publications during the 2007–2025 period. The results of the study show that the 2007–2018 period was significantly dominated by male authors (peaking at 84.44% in 2018). However, there was a rapid transition towards balance in 2019–2021, where female participation began to prevail (54.63% in 2021). This pattern continued in the 2023–2025 period, showing a new significant dominance by female authors (peaking at 56.45% in 2024). Overall, the total number of female authors (50.81%) slightly exceeded that of male authors (49.19%). This dramatic shift implies a fundamental change in the academic community. Specifically in the context of Mathematics, this trend is predicted to encourage diversification of research topics into Applied Mathematics and Data Science, strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration, and create a more inclusive research environment. This study concludes that gender equality efforts have fundamentally changing the landscape of publishing. These activities are expected to strengthen the capacity of journal managers in implementing data-driven management while promoting fair and sustainable scientific publishing practices as a tangible manifestation of professional dedication in the field of scientific journal management.

Reviewer Acknowledgements: Education, Equity and Evidence in Global Health - GHMJ (Global Health Management Journal), Volume 8, Number 3, 2025
  • Jan 10, 2026
  • GHMJ (Global Health Management Journal)
  • Ghmj (Global Health Management Journal)

The Editorial Board would like to express its sincere gratitude to the reviewers who contributed their time, insight, and scholarly judgment to the issue of the Global Health Management Journal (Vol. 8, No. 3, 2025). This issue begins by placing education at the center of global health responsibility. The opening editorial reminds us that preparing young people to engage with health challenges is not simply an academic goal, but a humanitarian one; rooted in equity, empathy, and long-term impact (Macnab, 2025). From this foundation, the perspectives section broadens the conversation and draws attention to the human and structural dimensions of health. Friendship and peer support highlight how care often emerges from relationships (Gasa et al., 2025). The discussions on children’s mental health in post-war settings (Dossen, 2025) and the future of peer review we believe will invite readers to reconsider how systems can better serve those they are meant to protect (Mosa et al., 2025). A review article in this issue challenges readers to think beyond borders when considering responsibility and harm; shaping by unequal power and policy decisions, by framing environmental exposure as an issue of justice rather than geography (Shin & Jung, 2025). The research articles then bring these broader concerns into specific contexts, offering evidence from clinical practice, educational institutions, and communities. Studies on student well-being (Yeyentimalla, 2025), faith-based pharmaceutical services (Latifah et al., 2025), tuberculosis treatment and resistance (Dewi et al., 2025 ; Santoso et al., 2025), experimental approaches to cholesterol management (Putra et al., 2025), and public understanding of vector control technologies (Herawati et al., 2025) collectively show how health outcomes are shaped by knowledge, belief, access, and trust. Sample size practices and guidelines in services marketing survey research
  • Jan 9, 2026
  • The Service Industries Journal
  • Faizan Ali

ABSTRACT This study investigates how sample size is determined and justified in quantitative survey research published in six leading services marketing and management journals – Journal of Service Management, Journal of Services Marketing, Service Industries Journal, Journal of Service Theory and Practice, Services Business, and Journal of Service Research – between 2020 and 2024. A total of 551 articles were systematically reviewed. Findings reveal that less than 15% of studies provided explicit or context-specific justifications for their sample sizes, exposing a significant gap in methodological rigor and transparency. This paper synthesizes existing rules, tables, and statistical guidelines to propose a consolidated framework for selecting and justifying sample sizes in services research. By addressing the widespread absence of reporting standards, this study contributes to improving theoretical rigor, replicability, and credibility in services scholarship and offers practical guidance for researchers, editors, and reviewers seeking to enhance methodological reporting across the field.

Digital-based scientific journal management is a crucial element in strengthening academic culture and improving the quality of higher education publications. However, student involvement in journal governance remains limited, particularly in understanding editorial workflows, using Open Journal Systems (OJS), applying publication ethics, and utilizing supporting technologies such as reference management tools and editorial artificial intelligence (AI). This community service program aims to enhance students’ competencies in scientific journal management at the Institut Bisnis dan Informatika (IBI) Kesatuan Bogor through practice-oriented training and mentoring. The program employed an experiential learning and capacity-building approach, including OJS 3 technical workshops, editorial process simulations, focus group discussions (FGDs), and competency evaluations using pre-tests and post-tests. Participants consisted of students from various study programs with an interest in academic writing and scholarly publishing. The evaluation results indicate a significant improvement in participants’ competencies, with average scores increasing from 52.3% before the program to 86.7% after its implementation. The most substantial improvements were observed in OJS mastery, understanding of publication ethics, and the use of AI-based tools for proofreading and plagiarism detection. Furthermore, 82.5% of participants expressed readiness to serve as assistant editors for institutional journals, and 87.5% demonstrated increased motivation to write and publish scientific articles. This program contributes to strengthening students’ academic literacy, enhancing institutional journal management capacity, and supporting the implementation of Outcome-Based Education (OBE), the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) policy, and the achievement of higher education Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Keywords: community service; scientific journal management; OJS; academic literacy; students; scholarly publishing.

The sales landscape has dramatically transformed in the last 20 years. Many of these changes were unanticipated by either sales practitioners or sales scholars at the time of the 2005 Special Issue on Advancing the Field of Selling and Sales Management, published in the Journal of Personal Selling & Sales Management. Importantly, these shifts in complex selling environments are drastically transforming contemporary selling approaches, sales organization structures, and salesperson roles, raising numerous novel questions and challenges for sales management in the domains of motivation, control, and compensation & incentive (MCCI) systems. Therefore, this paper aims to update the observations on MCCI research presented by Brown, Evans, Mantrala, Challagalla (2005) in the 2005 Special Issue, to document and stimulate further advances in sales research and practice in these domains. Specifically, this study pursues the following three objectives: (i) Review the progress in research over the last two decades on MCCI systems issues raised by Brown et al.; (ii) review academic and practitioner literatures on new questions about MCCI systems arising from disruptive shifts in today’s evolving selling environment, and (iii) propose an updated agenda and directions for future integrative and cross-disciplinary theoretical and empirical research on MCCI systems.
