Analysis of Consumer Behavior in Repeat Purchases of a Product

This study analyzes consumer behavior in repeat purchases of a product, specifically focusing on the case of Light Speed Reborn football and futsal shoes, a locally produced brand in Indonesia. In today's competitive industrial environment, companies strive to cultivate loyal customers, as this loyalty provides a strategic advantage in ensuring future product purchases. The observed phenomenon in this study highlights the repetitive buying behavior of consumers towards Light Speed Reborn shoes, despite only minimal changes in the product's color or design. In Samarinda, these shoes consistently sell out, with many football and futsal players purchasing the same model in different colors. This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach to explore the underlying reasons for this repetitive purchasing behavior, aiming to understand the factors that drive consumer loyalty towards this specific product. Findings indicate that factors such as customer satisfaction, product quality, affordability, comfort, trends, environmental influence, and the strong brand image contribute significantly to the consumers' repeat purchases. The results suggest that brand loyalty and perceived value play crucial roles in fostering repeat purchases of Light Speed Reborn shoes in the Indonesian market.

Dynamic competition in the digital darwinism: focal firms responding to competitors’ digital transformation

ABSTRACT The fierce dynamic competition in the digital age has led to digital Darwinism. Under pressure from the digital transformation of their competitors, focal firms must adjust their situation to cope with digital Darwinism. Based on the awareness-motivation-capability (AMC) framework, this study uses Chinese high-tech enterprises listed from 2012 to 2022 as the research sample. Results show that the digital transformation of the competitors and the motivation of the focal firms (competitive industry environment) significantly promote the digital transformation of the focal firms, whereas the awareness (relative scale) and ability (financing constraints) of the focal firms have the opposite effect. This research contributes to investigations on the mechanisms of the digital transformation of counter pairs within the industry by using the AMC framework.

Systematic Configurator for Complexity Management in Manufacturing Systems

Complexity management in manufacturing systems is crucial for the economic growth of countries, as efficient management can significantly improve business performance and ensure competitiveness in globalized markets. This research aims to develop a complexity management configurator that identifies critical effects, proposes solution strategies, and optimizes processes through a Lean Production and Industry 4.0 approach. To this end, its systematic design integrates the key stages of management: planning, organization, management and control. The research was structured as an applied study, implementing three main panels: general information, application of a diagnostic tool at each stage of the administrative process, and results focused on measuring the complexity and implementation of advanced technological solutions. The tool enables manufacturing companies not only to diagnose sources of complexity, but also to optimize their operations by adopting Lean methodologies and Industry 4.0 technologies. The findings show how the integration of these strategies contributes to reducing both static and dynamic complexity, resulting in greater operational efficiency and improved performance in an increasingly competitive industrial environment. In conclusion, the proposed configurator is positioned as a key tool to improve the competitiveness and sustainability of manufacturing companies by offering a comprehensive approach to complexity management that is tailored to the demands of modern industry.

A spherical fuzzy objective weighting framework for factors affecting bidding decisions for construction projects: A case study of Taiwan

In response to the intensely competitive bidding environment in Taiwan's construction industry, this study innovates with a spherical fuzzy extension of the modified CRITIC method (SFmCRITIC), a pioneering approach crafted to refine the decision-making process. The research centers on the pivotal role of accurately weighting various significant factors, such as financial stability, market insight, and specialized expertise, to optimize bid success rates. The SFmCRITIC method stands out by quantitatively incorporating the uncertainty and subjectivity typically encountered in bid evaluation. The findings from this methodological application demonstrate a clear hierarchy of influencing factors, offering a nuanced view of strategic priorities for construction firms. This hierarchical understanding not only aids firms in targeted resource distribution and strategic development but also holds promise for adaptation in diverse industry contexts beyond Taiwan, potentially revolutionizing bidding strategies at a global scale.

The Effect of Beauty Shop Service Quality on Revisit Intention

Purpose: The competitive environment of the beauty service industry entered into fierce competition due to factors such as the opening of the service industry and the diversification, advancement, and multi-attributes of the economy. Consumers choose a store with a wide variety of needs and thoughts, and their intention to reuse is determined by the behavior of internal customers they meet at one-on-one contact points with customers. The purpose of this study is to suggest a way to become a competitive beauty shop by providing better service to customers by confirming the relationship between service quality, customer satisfaction, and revisit intention through empirical analysis. Method: In this study, prior research and empirical research were conducted in parallel for the purpose of the study, and a research model was established based on the existing prior research. In order to verify the validity of the research model, 500 copies were finally used for empirical analysis using an online survey method centered on female users who visited domestic beauty shops (hair, skin, nail, makeup). Statistical analysis was performed using programs (SPSS 23.0, AMOS 23.0) as an analysis method, and statistical methods such as frequency analysis, cross-tabulation, factor analysis, variance analysis, and structural equations were analyzed and processed. Results: First, as a result of analyzing the difference in service quality according to age, it was found that response, empathy, materiality, and reliability factors were statistically different. Response, empathy, and reliability were high in the 40s, and materiality was high in the 20s. Second, as a result of analyzing the difference in service quality according to the most used beauty shop, it was found that there was a difference in the empathy factor. As a result of the post-hoc test, there were differences in makeup, skin care, and nail beauty, and the empathy of skin care and nail beauty was analyzed to be higher than makeup. Third, as a result of analyzing the differences in the Revisit Intention factor according to the Most used beauty shop, the Revisit Intention factor was statistically significant, and it was analyzed that the Revisit Intention of nail beauty was higher than that of makeup. Fourth, as a result of examining the extent to which service quality factors using AMOS affect overall Revisit Intention, among service quality factors, reliability has the greatest impact, and response, empathy, materiality, and professionalism do not directly affect Revisit Intention. Conclusion: Customers who visit beauty service companies today have a variety of needs, and it has become competitive to derive customer satisfaction with more delicate consideration. It can be seen that the improvement of overall ser-vice quality has a direct effect on Revisit Intention, and it was found that customers revisit due to reliability. Due to the nature of the beauty industry, which relies heavily on human resources, research on how it will affect customers' Revisit Intention is expected to provide many implications for strengthening the competitiveness of the beauty industry in the future.

Stimulating customer participation behaviour and boosting value co-creation in hotels

Considering the competitive environment of the hospitality industry in delivering superior value to customers, customer participation in value co-creation with the service provider through interaction becomes pivotal. By bonding the co-creation theory with the equity theory, this study proposes a model for stimulating customer participation behaviour (CPB), which includes customer co-creation perception (CCCP) composing DART activities (dialogue, access, risk assessment, and transparency), CPB, co-production, and value-in-use. The collected data from tourists staying in hotels in Portugal was analysed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results confirm that CCCP predicts CPB, co-production, and value-in-use. Moreover, CPB improves co-production and value-in-use and mediates the associations between CCCP and co-production/value-in-use. This research contributes to co-creation theory by confirming CCCP as a driver of CPB and provides practical implications to enhance co-production and value-in-use in hotels.

Evaluation of Core Competitiveness of New Energy Industry and Analysis of Obstacle Factors Taking Shandong Province as an Example

The new energy industry serves as a key driver for green growth, and unlocking its core competitiveness is essential for achieving sustainable development. This study focuses on the new energy industry in Shandong province from 2010 to 2021, constructing an evaluation system for core competitiveness across three dimensions: industrial competitive environment, industrial competitive strength, and industrial competitive potential. Utilizing the entropy weight TOPSIS method and the obstacle degree model, this paper delves into the evolving characteristics and hindering factors affecting the core competitiveness of the new energy industry in Shandong province. The findings reveal the following: (1) over the study period, the core competitiveness of the new energy industry in Shandong province underwent stages of small fluctuations, slow growth, and rapid expansion, indicating an overall upward trajectory. (2) The primary obstacle to improving core competitiveness lies in the industrial competitive environment, particularly highlighted by factors such as the number of industrial service departments, existing policies, the growth rate of investment in the new energy industry, and the number of research and development personnel in large-scale new energy enterprises.

The influence of socio-economic factors on the effectiveness of continuous pedagogical education in the Republic of Austria

The proposed article deals with the development of the system of continuous teacher education in the conditions of the Austrian market economy. The author emphasizes the importance of studying the Austrian experience of the interaction of higher education with the labor market in order to reconsider the mechanisms and models of state influence on the policy of employment of teachers. It was determined that the purpose of this article is to analyze and generalize the socio-economic factors that shape the demand of young and experienced teachers for training within the concept of continuous education in the educational space of the Republic of Austria. The tasks are to determine the main stages of the development of continuous education in the countries of the European Union, in particular the Republic of Austria, from the beginning of the Bologna process until today; identify the leading trends in the development of the Austrian labor market and their impact on the supply of specialists with higher pedagogical education; substantiate the main imperatives of regulating the training and employment of future teachers in the Austrian economy. The author characterized the ways of ensuring the continuity of the development of pedagogical education in the Republic of Austria. Attention is focused on the need to introduce innovative forms of organizing professional training and improving the qualifications of pedagogical workers. An analysis of the labor market in the Republic of Austria was carried out regarding the demand for specialists in fields of pedagogy and their remuneration. It was found out that the effectiveness of personnel policy and provision of opportunities for professional development of pedagogical workers are somewhat lower than for other specialists with higher education. Factors stimulating teachers’ interest in career and professional growth through various forms of continuous education are singled out. The conditions for increasing the competitiveness and optimizing the potential of teachers as subjects of the labor market have been determined. It was concluded that the Republic of Austria has a positive experience of professional training of teachers in the system of continuing education, however, it needs new approaches to forecasting the needs of the labor market for specialists with higher pedagogical education in order to create a competitive environment in the education industry in the modern world.

Optimizing the Simulation of Conveyor Systems through Digital Shadow Integration to Increase Assembly Efficiency

In today's highly competitive industrial environment, continuous improvement of efficiency and optimization of processes is crucial. This paper presents an approach to the optimization of conveyor systems that uses the concept of a digital shadow. A digital shadow, as an exact digital replica of a physical conveyor system, enables detailed simulation and analysis of real operational data, providing a basis for in-depth analysis and identification of areas for improvement. The aim of this approach is not only to improve the understanding of the dynamics and performance of existing conveyor systems, but also to increase the overall efficiency through predictive simulations and optimization algorithms. In this work, we demonstrate how the integration of a digital shadow into the simulation process can contribute to a better reaction to changes in the production environment, to the reduction of downtime and to the optimization of production flows. Our methodology combines data collection / analysis, and enables the creation of accurate and flexible models of conveyor systems. These models are then used in simulations that help identify optimal settings for different production scenarios and predict potential problems before they occur. The results of applying our approach on a test laboratory line show a significant improvement in efficiency and a reduction in operating costs. This study provides important insights and practical guidelines for engineers and production managers focused on the use of digital shadow to increase the efficiency of conveyor systems. It also contributes to the development of intelligent production technologies in the era of Industry 4.0.

The global sports industry is today a large sector of the global economy, which is dynamically developing in the face of competition from numerous sports organizations, as well as various business representatives and popular media. The article analyzes the main products of the sports industry (a sports event and a sports and wellness service), gives a general real picture of the sports industry market, taking into account both various manufacturers and consumers of these products. Each product of the sports industry has its own characteristics, taking into account the development of various segments of the industry (professional and mass sports, youth sports and fitness industries). Within the framework of the conducted research, specific elements of the competitive strategy of various manufacturers of the sports industry have been identified, taking into account the characteristics of the products of this industry. The authors note the emergence of digital sports (e-sports, sports programming, fidgital sports, etc.), which significantly affects the competition of the sports events market. Competition in the sports and wellness services market is associated with the development of entrepreneurial activity in mass and youth sports, as well as in the fitness industry. The article shows how competition in the sports industry is developing today, how the competitive environment is being formed and for which products consumers of the industry are competing. The presented article shows the level of development of the competitive environment in the sports industry.

Can Reverse Mixed-Ownership Reform Reduce the Cost of Equity Financing of Private Enterprises?

ABSTRACT How to leverage the advantages of state-owned capital to promote the high-quality development of private enterprises is a central issue of mixed-ownership reform. We empirically explore the effect of reverse mixed-ownership reform on the cost of equity financing for private enterprises and the underlying mechanism from two perspectives: equity structure and high-level governance using fixed-effect and IV regressions. We find that reverse mixed-ownership reform significantly reduces the cost of equity financing for private enterprises. The mediation effect tests suggest that the improvement of information disclosure quality and equity liquidity partially play intermediary roles in the relation between the reform and the equity financing cost. Heterogeneity tests suggest that cost of equity financing for private enterprises are significantly reduced for firms operating in highly competitive industry environment and firms located in regions with lower level of marketization. We contribute to the understanding of the economic consequences of reverse mixed-ownership reform and provide policy insights for further advancing the reform in private enterprises while effectively harnessing the advantages of state-owned capital.

This study aims to identify success factors by applying the ERIS model to analyze the process of social ventures increasing the sustainable value of companies through upcycling businesses. To this end, a case analysis was conducted by applying an ERIS model that analyzes the performance of start-ups by selecting social ventures that conduct upcycling businesses using materials such as natural leather seats, seat belts, and airbags collected from automobile production processes and end-of-life automobiles. As a result of the analysis, it was confirmed that the entrepreneur's ability to identify market opportunities and establish an initial system in entrepreneurial factors, build a consistent brand image by securing tangible and intangible resources as resource factors, adapt to competitive industrial environment based on competitiveness, and finally, create value by pursuing sustainability in all corporate activities in strategic factors. Conclusions and implications were drawn based on the above results.

What motivated Malaysians in banking with the service provider in the post COVID-19 pandemic era?

The fierce competitive environment in Malaysian banking industry has pressured the service providers into focusing on the improvement of their customers loyalty.This study aims to examine the antecedents of customer satisfaction to promote customer loyalty. This study adapted SERVQUAL model to explain the influencing factors. Hundred and one valid and reliable responses were used for data analysis. The findings suggested positive relationships between tangibility, assurance, and empathy on customer satisfaction. The relationship between customer satisfaction and customer loyalty is significantly positive. Contrary to previous findings, responsiveness and reliability are not significant in explaining customer satisfaction. This study is one of the very few studies in Malaysia and Asia to propose effective measures to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty post COVID-19 pandemic era.

Features of strategic management in the HoReCa sector under martial law

Introduction. Strategic management in the HoReCa industry is essential for success, but it becomes even more challenging during times of war. The state of war affects the socio-economic situation and poses new challenges for hotels and restaurants. Recent research and publications highlight the interest in understanding the impact of war on HoReCa's strategic management. Addressing this issue requires developing adaptive strategies, ensuring safety for staff and guests, and maintaining business stability and productivity. The purpose of the paper is to define the concept of "HoReCa sphere", to identify the features of strategic management in the HoReCa sphere and to study the impact of martial law on strategic management in the hotel and restaurant business. Results. The term "HoReCa" has gained wide acceptance in the commercial hospitality industry. It encompasses a variety of establishments engaged in the production and sale of food for immediate consumption away from home, primarily hotels, restaurants and catering services. Strategic management in the HoReCa sector plays a crucial role in achieving competitive advantage and ensuring the sustainable development of enterprises in this industry. The strategic management cycle consists of four stages, including analysis of the external environment, formulation of the mission and strategic goals, selection of strategies and their implementation with control. The success of HoReCa businesses depends on flexibility, responsiveness to market changes, a customer-oriented approach and the development of competitive advantages, such as quality service, professionalism and positive community relations. Strategic management in the HoReCa sector is essential for navigating the dynamic and competitive environment of the hospitality industry. In times of military conflict, strategic analysis and planning must take into account unique circumstances, including risk assessment, conservation of resources, adaptation to changing customer behaviour and expectations, and adjustments to supply chains due to the constraints and challenges of the conflict situation. Conclusion. Overall, strategic management plays a vital role in the success and resilience of HoReCa businesses, especially in times of war, enabling them to respond effectively to market demands and maintain a positive reputation in the community.

Investigation of Process Parameters of a Novel Magnetorheological Finishing Process for External Cylindrical Surfaces

The recent rise in the demand for high precision, close tolerances, and super surface finish quality of components and part assembly modules in the competitive manufacturing industrial environment for the enhanced working life and functional requirements of machines globally. Three revolving curved tip tools based magnetorheological process is designed and developed to fine finish the external cylindrical surfaces of soft and hard materials. The effect of the key operational machining parameters on the surface roughness of a newly developed magnetorheological process was carried out using a one factor at a time method. The magnetizing current, the revolving speed of the tools, the rotational speed of the workpiece, workpiece traverse speed are the parameters that have been considered for this purpose. The experimentation has been performed on the aluminium workpiece because of its broad applicability, such as manufacturing shafts, rods, pistons, and other circular components. The primary purpose of this study was to determine the range of essential control parameters for the newly developed finishing process. The percentage reduction in Ra, Rq, and Rz values are 69.64%, 58.21%, and 54.48%, respectively, after 60 minutes of finishing at magnetizing current 2A, the revolving speed of the tools 30 RPM, the rotation speed of the workpiece 600 RPM and feed 10 cm/min.

The crowding-out effect of zombie companies on fixed asset investment: Evidence from China

This paper attempts to investigate the relationship between zombie companies and normal companies' fixed asset investment. Our empirical research finds that zombies will crowd out the fixed asset investment of normal companies, and this result remains stable under many robustness tests. Heterogeneity analysis reveals that the crowding-out effect mainly exists in non-SOEs, companies with small tax contributions, and companies in light industries, while SOEs, companies with large tax contributions, and heavy industrial sectors are unaffected by zombies. It's also shown that zombie companies crowd out fixed asset investment by increasing financing constraints, raising financing costs and destroying the industry's competitive environment. We further find that improving the regional institutional environment can alleviate zombies' crowding-out effect. Overall, our paper enriches the research on zombie companies' negative impact on normal companies and emphasizes the importance of strengthening the construction of the institutional environment.

Investigating the investment value of Elmo company based on SWOT analysis

Startups face huge challenges in all aspects, and corporate finance is an essential part of surviving in a very competitive industry environment. Corporate finance determines the possibility of business development, and the capital chain is an important factor for the company's survival. In order to assess the value of an investment in universal startups and to determine the appropriate channels for obtaining investment, the small industrial technology company Elmo, Inc. was selected as a representative. In this paper, we analyze the investment value of Elmo, a start-up company, using SWOT analysis, which is commonly used in business analysis, to evaluate the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and treats of the company, and the results show that Elmo has high investment value. The analysis of the investment value of the company will serve as investment advice for investment institutions and create more financing opportunities for startups, thus promoting the development of startups. The company's investment value analysis can also help the company to clarify its development direction and investment requirements, find suitable financing methods and stabilize its capital chain.

How do technological intensity and competition affect R&D persistence?: a new approach using cost asymmetry model

ABSTRACT This study investigates the R&D persistence with different external conditions based on US listed manufacturing firms for the period 2011–2019. Specifically, we analyze whether the fluctuation of R&D investment is related to short-term changes in sales, and how industrial technological intensity and competitive environment influence the relationship. We used the cost asymmetry model to identify the changes in R&D investment by sales behaviour. The results showed that the R&D investment of high-tech firms was stickier when sales declined as compared to low-tech firms. Therefore, R&D persistence tends to be strong in high-tech firms. In addition, R&D persistence was weakened by the competitive environment, and this finding was more pronounced for high-tech firms than for low-tech firms. This study has academic implications in the empirical analysis of the relationship between R&D persistence and external characteristics from a dynamic perspective.

In the business world, especially in the supermarket business, competition cannot be separated, the number of supermarkets that are established will make business competition increasingly tight in the supermarket industry. Competitive advantage is now the spearhead of a business. PB Supermarket is one of the supermarkets that is included in the minimarket category which is equivalent to Alfamart, Indomart and other minimarkets in Metro City. This study aims to determine the steps of PB Supermarkets in applying their competitive advantage. After knowing the steps of PB Supermarkets in implementing competitive advantage, it will be analyzed in the perspective of Islamic economics. Judging from its type, this research is a descriptive field research. In the data collection method, researchers used interviews or interviews, documentation, and observation. As for the results of this study, namely that PB Supermarkets have a high competitive industrial environment, it can be seen that there are many supermarkets standing in Metro City. Based on the SWOT analysis PB Swalayan also has good strengths and opportunities to cover weaknesses and face threats. To face a high competitive environment, PB Swalayan applies competitive advantage in the form of improving service quality, providing goods that are needed by the community or a complete target market, and conducting promotional programs in the form of prize draws, and what is prioritized in PB Swalayan's competitive advantage is lower prices compared to its competitors. The competitive advantage applied by PB Supermarkets is in accordance with Islamic Economics or Islamic business ethics, namely the principles of honesty, trustworthiness, tolerance, and fulfilling contracts and promises, and not using methods that are prohibited by religion.

Development of Customer Loyalty Measurement Application using R Shiny

Shopee is a successful e-commerce platform in Southeast Asia today, becoming the leading choice for customers who want to shop online and has built loyal relationships with customers. Apart from Shopee, many other e-commerce companies also emphasize the importance of building customer loyalty as their primary goal. This research will explore the main factors that play a role in creating Shopee customer loyalty. By measuring customer loyalty, which refers to the variables of customer satisfaction, promotions, data security, and customer service. Through the Structural Equation Modeling Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method. Research data was obtained by distributing questionnaires to 180 customers who purchased on Shopee, distributed via TikTok. The research results show that two hypotheses were tested to understand the influence of variables on customer loyalty. The results show that customer satisfaction has a significant impact that exceeds other variables in creating customer loyalty. Promotion and data security also contribute positively, while customer service, although it has a positive effect, is not significant in influencing customer loyalty. The research conclusion emphasizes customer satisfaction as the primary strategy for maintaining and increasing customer loyalty, especially in the tight competitive environment in the e-commerce industry.
