In the era of Artificial intelligence the role of prospective teachers, who are both learners and educators simultaneously. The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 emphasizes the integration of technology with teaching. The mere addition of technology does not automatically enhance the learning experience. Instead, it’s about how educators can integrate technology to transform and enrich the learning process. This concept is particularly relevant when considering the skills future teachers need to develop. They must be adapt at using technology, but more importantly, they must understand how to use it to facilitate learning and engage students. This involves a deep understanding of the subject matter, knowledge of how students learn, and the ability to use technology to enhance learning and teaching. This combination of skills is crucial for the educators of tomorrow, enabling them to effectively use technology as a tool to foster a more interactive and engaging learning environment. Pedagogy, the art of teaching, shapes the actions, judgments, and strategies of teachers. It takes into account learning theories, understanding of students’ needs, and the individual backgrounds and interests of students. In today’s world, digital literacy and digital intelligence are not just desirable but essential competencies. In this Study data are collected from teachers training Institutes of Purba Bardhaman District. Focus of this study is to measure of the Techno pedagogical competency in respect of gender and locality among the trainee teachers.

Review on Personalized Activity Notification and Feedback

News Aggregator is a real-time, personalized news and placement update service specifically tailored for students. It will be extremely difficult to keep up with in this age of information with information relevant to employment opportunities and pertinent information without the precise solutions in a timely manner. It caters to an application required by a centralized system that offers educational and professional content, well-curated towards individual academic or career interests. The system uses the application of ML and NLP for behavior and preference analysis regarding individuals. Real-time updates are supported using a blend of RSS feeds and APIs, and user-based collaborative filtering makes the suggestions more accurate. Enhanced NLP approaches like topic modeling (LDA), sentiment analysis (LSTM), and summarization are employed for processing news stories and placement updates iteratively and hence enhancing the relevance over time. News Aggregator simplifies access to essential information, thus facilitating academic and professional growth of students with the personalized news feed and placement alerts on time to ready them for upcoming opportunities.

SummPilot: Bridging Efficiency and Customization for Interactive Summarization System

This paper incorporates the efficiency of automatic summarization and addresses the challenge of generating personalized summaries tailored to individual users' interests and requirements. To tackle this challenge, we introduce SummPilot, an interaction-based customizable summarization system. SummPilot leverages a large language model to facilitate both automatic and interactive summarization. Users can engage with the system to understand document content and personalize summaries through interactive components such as semantic graphs, entity clustering, and explainable evaluation. Our demo and user studies demonstrate SummPilot's adaptability and usefulness for customizable summarization.

Assessing orthographic competence and implementing intervention strategies to improve orthographic competence.

Contemporary empirical research in the field of Special Education highlights the interaction of multidimensional variables in identifying and fostering the potential of gifted and talented students. This case study incorporates a diagnostic assessment to evaluate the spelling proficiency of a linguistically talented student learning German as a foreign language. The research subject is an 8-year-old boy who has been learning German as a second foreign language for two years. To assess the student’s spelling ability, the Spelling Test for Students of German as a Second Foreign Language was administered both before and after the intervention. The intervention presented in this study focused on a specific spelling difficulty: the capitalization of nouns in German. This was combined with a prior diagnostic assessment process. Quantitative data were additionally collected using the Course Conduct Questionnaire to identify individual learning styles and interests. In this case study, multisensory and digital intervention activities were designed to address the needs of a gifted learner of German as a foreign language. Multisensory approaches were employed to align with the student’s preferences, while digital tools were integrated to enhance engagement and learning reinforcement. Post-intervention analysis revealed significant improvement in the student’s spelling proficiency.

The Sustainability of the Plant Environment in the Prophetic Sunnah – A Contemporary Reading

The idea of this article is to study the texts of the Prophetic Sunnah and its stances that have shaped the approach to dealing with the plant environment. Its significance lies in highlighting the key aspects of the Sunnah’s concern for the plant environment in both normal and exceptional circumstances. Both theoretically and practically. The article focuses on presenting the Prophetic Guidance related to the introduction of new plant resources, the preservation of their continuity and sustainability, and the warning against cutting down the Sidr Tree. Several findings emerged, the most notable of which include the profound concern of the Prophetic Sunnah for the plant environment, whether in its establishment or sustainability, and its pioneering role in addressing contemporary issues such as environmental sustainability and the culture of afforestation for the future. The Sunnah also lays the foundation for several noble values, including positivity, engaging in work without immediate expectations of results, prioritizing actions that benefit the public over those that serve individual interests, and valuing deeds with lasting impact after death. Additionally, the study proposes several recommendations, most notably the call for further research on food security in the Prophetic Sunnah.

Students’ situational interest and perceived relevance during designed coherent physics learning modules

ABSTRACT Recognising the importance of interest and relevance for learning, educators have strived to improve these elements in their instruction. This study explores how situational interest and perceived relevance vary over time and across instructional activities. Moreover, our aim was to analyse how individual interest, perceived relevance and instructional activities predict situational interest. We obtained two data sets (N = 129 and N = 126) from students participating in physics learning modules designed according to the ideas of coherent science instruction and used ANOVA, post-hoc tests and linear regression models for the analyses. We recognised significant differences in situational interest between the same types of instructional activities. Students predominantly associated the activities with the individual and societal dimensions of relevance. The regression models confirmed that relevance was a significant and strong predictor of situational interest, especially for calculation-related activities; individual interest did not predict situational interest in most situations. The predictive power of the modules heavily depended on the situations; model fits at the beginning of the modules were poor, but they improved in subsequent situations. Overall, the findings suggest that the context in which the instructional activities are situated is more important than the activities themselves.

The Influence of Financial Literacy on Interest in Conducting Online Financing in Employees with Religiosity Variables

This study aims to determine the effect of Islamic financial literacy on the interest in conducting Islamic online financing with religiosity as a moderating variable on employees of the Nabil Husein Islamic Boarding School. This study uses a quantitative method with a population of all Islamic boarding school employees and a sample size of 40 respondents. The data collection technique was carried out by distributing questionnaires directly to the office of the Nabil Husein Islamic Boarding School. Data analysis was carried out using the outer model analysis tool, inner model, and hypothesis testing to test the relationship between variables. The results of the study indicate that Islamic financial literacy has a significant effect on the interest in Islamic online financing. This means that the higher the Islamic financial literacy, the higher the individual's interest in using Islamic-based online financing services. However, the religiosity variable does not have a positive effect and is unable to moderate the effect of Islamic financial literacy on this interest. This shows that the level of employee religiosity does not strengthen the relationship between Islamic financial literacy and interest in Islamic online financing. These findings provide implications for Islamic financial institutions to focus more on improving Islamic financial literacy in order to encourage interest in Islamic online financing products.

Encountering coasts: The contested geographies of young people's coastal citizenship[s

AbstractThis paper examines the contested geographies of young people's citizenship practices and performances in marine and coastal environments. This is important in developing original knowledge of how encounters with new and different coastal places, practices, people, morals and ethics can affect young people's citizenship practices and performances and how young people relate meaningfully with[in] coastal environments. Using a novel digital scrapbooking technique and qualitative interviews, conducted with 22 young adults aged 18–30 in Plymouth, UK, this paper examines how and why young people's everyday engagements and encounters with coastal environments can shape their understandings of environmental and social care. In examining the intersections of youth citizenship, coastal literacy and the geographies of encounter, the paper develops a new framework of ‘coastal citizenship’ that provides two contributions. First, in identifying coastal citizenship as a unique imbrication of terrestrial and marine citizenship that relies on the interdependencies of various actors, systems, policies and ways‐of‐knowing land–sea interactions. Second, this paper acknowledges the interplay between young citizens' interpretations of, and approaches towards, coastal management, education and engagement in ways that produce individual and collective interest, responsibility and care for marine spaces. This approach therefore advances discourses of young people as citizens ‘in becoming’ by examining how young people's active engagement with, and management/promotion of, coastal environmental care is articulated through their ‘everyday agency’. This is important in ensuring a broader range of young people's voices are able to shape decisions made at the local and national level.

The role of the principle of proportionality when restricting constitutional rights and freedoms of man and citizen in Ukraine: problems of theory and practice

It is indicated that in the realities that have formed in our country in recent years, compliance with the principle of the rule of law, in particular its element of proportionality, is gaining increasing relevance. Cases of restriction of human rights are increasingly encountered in social and legal relations, therefore, studying the role of the principle of proportionality in the restriction of constitutional rights and freedoms of man and citizen in Ukraine is currently an urgent necessity. In particular, questions arise regarding the legality and expediency of restrictions on human and citizen rights during martial law, when the interests of the state have a higher priority than the interests of an individual. Therefore, the problem of improving the legislative regulation of the principle of proportionality is important, which will allow for effective protection of human rights and maintaining a balance between individual rights and public interests, in particular in emergency situations. The article analyzes proportionality as an important element of the principle of the rule of law in the context of constitutional law. The focus is on the indispensability of this principle in the sphere of restriction of human rights in Ukraine in modern conditions. Separately, the historical development of the principle of proportionality, the concepts associated with it, its consolidation in international practice, in particular in the decisions of the European Court of Human Rights, as well as its use in Ukrainian judicial practice, in particular in conditions of martial law, are considered. The relevance of the principle of proportionality when restricting human rights and freedoms in crisis situations, such as quarantine or martial law, is emphasized, and the need for a clear consolidation of this principle in national legislation is emphasized. The author concludes that the principle of proportionality is not only a legal instrument for ensuring legality and justice when restricting human rights, but also an important element for preserving democracy, the rule of law and fundamental rights and freedoms in independent sovereign Ukraine. It is it that ensures full and comprehensive observance of human and citizen rights and freedoms, in particular during special legal regimes, such as martial law. It also determines that restrictions must be minimal and not exceed what is necessary to achieve a specific goal.

Administrative and legal principles of management in the field of customs affairs

The article examines the administrative and legal principles of management in the field of customs as an important element of state regulation of foreign economic activity. The role of effective customs administration in the context of globalization of the world economy and the intensification of international trade is considered. Modern challenges associated with the need to simplify customs procedures, digitalize customs operations, combat customs offenses and harmonize national customs legislation with international standards are analyzed. The paper examines the management system in the field of customs as a complex administrative and legal mechanism, which includes the regulatory framework, organizational structure of customs authorities, mechanisms of interaction between different levels of the customs system and with other state authorities. The evolution of scientific views on the functions of customs authorities from a four-component model (fiscal, regulatory, security and economic functions) to a more compact triad (security, regulatory, fiscal), which reflects the trend of consolidation of functional load in the context of administrative reform. Special attention is paid to the law enforcement function of customs authorities, which was legally established in 1993. The transformation of the administrative paradigm from a command-and-control model to a client-oriented approach is analyzed, where «serving» the population becomes the key mission of the state apparatus. The importance of the principle of respecting the rights and legally protected interests of individuals, enshrined in the Customs Code of Ukraine, is emphasized as fundamental for the implementation of state customs affairs. The author considers the dualistic nature of state administration in the customs sphere, which combines theoretical (a branch of science with multiple disciplinary connections) and practical (a type of state activity for the implementation of executive and administrative functions) dimensions. The need to improve the administrative and legal regulation of customs activities is substantiated in order to increase the efficiency of customs control, simplify customs clearance procedures, and create favorable conditions for bona fide subjects of foreign economic activity.

"This article thoroughly analyzes the concept of seizure, which is considered an investigative action in criminal proceedings, and the procedural guarantees of individual rights and legal interests during the seizure investigative action. In this case, the norms established in the criminal procedure legislation on the concept of seizure and the views of specialists and scientists in this area were studied. In turn, the distinctive features of the concept of seizure from the concept of a search investigative action are revealed. Criminal procedure legislation grants investigators broad powers to resolve issues related to the rights, freedoms, and interests of individuals during seizures, and this article analyzes the conditions that investigators and participants must adhere to during searches during the investigation process. Since the seizure process is directly related to the right of individuals to the inviolability of their property, this article briefly examines the norms of national and international legislation regarding the guarantee of the right to the inviolability of property during this investigative action. Also, the legislative acts on the topic, the opinions and proposals of scientists who conducted scientific research on this topic were thoroughly studied, and the personal opinions, conclusions, and proposals of the authors were put forward. Nikolai Kozlovsky and Organization of Cement Production in Russia in Early 20th Century

This article examines the history of one of Russia’s largest cement companies, the Joint-Stock Company of United Portland Cement Plants “Zhelezo-Cement” and “Volsky D. B. Zeyfert”, focusing on its establishment and operations. The research aims to determine the level of institutional (formal and informal) alignment among stakeholders and its impact on the company’s production, financial, and managerial performance on the eve of and during World War I. The study analyzes the extent to which the company’s economic performance reflected its managerial and financial development strategies. It explores the mechanisms employed to reconcile the preferences of various stakeholders (shareholders, board members, creditors, business partners) in shaping the development of the plants in St. Petersburg and Volsk. Nikolai Kozlovsky’s individual contributions to the management of cement production are assessed in terms of his capacity to influence the efficiency of interregional business operations within a context of evolving individual and group interests within the joint-stock company. The article concludes that innovative changes in the company’s operations were largely a result of Kozlovsky’s long-term leadership.

Exploring the categories of students’ interest and their relationships with deep learning in technology supported environments

Interest is not only the starting point to begin a wonderful learning journey for students, but also an important driver for deep learning and continuous progress. This study used latent profile analysis (LPA), multiple logistic regression analysis, and multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) to analyze the self-reported questionnaires of 634 junior high school students in China, with the aim of exploring the co-existing categories of situational interest and individual interest in technology-supported learning environments, the associated factors, and their impact on the four elements of deep learning (enjoyment of learning, cognitive commitment, relating ideas, understanding). The study found that the co-existing categories of situational interest and individual interest in technology-supported learning environments included “Medium situational interest-Low individual interest group”, “Medium situational interest-Medium individual interest group”, “High situational interest-Medium individual interest group”, “High situational interest-High individual interest group”; grade level was correlated with the deepening and stabilizing phases of interest; all four interest categories were correlated with the four elements of deep learning; and the deepening and stabilizing phases of interest were more correlated with the four elements. The results of the study validate that there is heterogeneity in the effects of situational interest and individual interest on deep learning in technology-supported learning environments, and that “high situational interest-high individual interest” is an important factor in the occurrence of deep learning.

Depressive-like symptoms induced by chronic low-dose exposure to radiation in mice were suppressed by fecal transplants from unexposed mice

Professionals who have been exposed to low-dose ionizing radiation for a long time are known to sometimes display symptoms similar to lethargy; however, the mechanism responsible is unknown. Therefore, we evaluated “motivation for exploration” and “interest in new things”, and examined whether radiation affects the mental state of rodents. We found that mice exposed to long-term low-dose irradiation (a total dose of 0.3 Gy in 10 weeks) did not change the amount of exercise itself, but their motivation for exploration was clearly reduced, and they showed no interest in other individuals, which indicates an abnormal psychological effect. We also investigated the relationship between intestinal bacteria and the low-dose effect by transplanting healthy stools from non-irradiated mice into mice whose behavior changed due to low-dose fractionated irradiation. Fecal transplantation improved the behavior of individuals in the irradiated group, in which the time to find the escape box of the Barnes maze behavioral test was the same as that in the non-irradiated control group, and the involvement of intestinal bacteria in negating the effects of radiation was considered.

디자인교육에서 성장형 사고방식을 통한 디자이너의 갈등 순기능 강화방안

Objectives In this study, it is to explore ways to strengthen conflicts through growth-type accidents through growth-type accident methods. Methods To this end, as a basic study that applied the growth-type thinking method to expand and develop the existing conflict management theory, it was established in the literature selection criteria, and domestic and foreign data search was collected through Google Scholar, Web of Science, and KCI, and literature research was conducted through content analysis. The main keywords were “growth-type mindset,” “conflict management,” and “conflict net function reinforcement.” Results To this end, based on the conflict management theory presented in Chapter 2 and the three growth-type ways of thinking presented in Chapter 3, prior research and field theory were discussed in Chapter 4 to strengthen the positive function of conflict according to the three growth-type ways of thinking. Conclusions To this end, first, it flexibly responds to change and uncertainty through the mindset of adaptation, and accepts conflict as an opportunity for learning and growth. Second, it is necessary to lead the conflict in the direction of strengthening teamwork and collaboration by having a group mindset so that designers prioritize common goals and values over individual interests. Third, through an active mindset, potential conflict factors are identified in advance, countermeasures are prepared, and conflicts can be prevented and quickly resolved when they occur.

Prospective mathematics teachers’ situational interest for word problems

This study examined the influence of word problems and individual differences on student teachers’ situational interest. There is extensive research on word problems, but few studies have assessed the impact on situational interest, particularly for self-generated word problems. Using a within-subject design (N = 256), we investigated whether self-generated or ready-made word problems elicited greater situational interest compared to solving math tasks without a context (math-tasks-only). Additionally, we investigated whether individual interest in mathematics, mathematical self-concept, and related measures were associated with situational interest. Findings indicated that both word problem conditions significantly increased situational interest compared to math-tasks-only, regardless of individual interest. Self-concept moderated the effect of condition on situational interest; the self-generated word problem was more interesting for participants with higher self-concept, whereas the ready-made word problem was more interesting for participants with lower self-concept. We discuss these results considering interest-development and self-determination theory.

Does Cognitive Load Influence Moral Judgments? The Role of Action-Omission and Collective Interests.

This study aimed to investigate the impact of cognitive load on moral judgments while incorporating action propensities and collective interests as variables. Study 1 (N = 102) used the dot matrix memory task to manipulate cognitive load, and participants made moral choices in action dilemmas and omission dilemmas. The findings revealed that when confronted with action moral dilemmas, participants in the high-cognitive load group exhibited a greater inclination towards utilitarian responses compared to those in the low-load group. However, cognitive load did not affect utilitarian choices in omission moral dilemmas. Study 2 (N = 100) further introduced the identities of protagonists in dilemmas involving conflicts between collective and individual interests. When facing a collective-individual interest conflict, participants under high cognitive load were more inclined to prioritize collective interests over individual interests compared to those under low load. Additionally, participants were more likely to choose collective interests in omission moral dilemmas than in action dilemmas. The impact of cognitive load on moral judgments was also influenced by the identities of the protagonists.

Linkages Among AI Elements Affecting Quality and Value of Education

Artificial intelligence (AI) has advanced rapidly in recent years and become widely integrated across various fields, including education. This paper seeks to provide a comprehensive examination of the current state of AI in education by exploring its potential to revolutionize learning experiences through personalized approaches and data-driven decision-making tools, while also highlighting important challenges that require consideration to ensure its responsible development and implementation. AI shows great promise to personalize instruction for each student based on assessments of their individual strengths, weaknesses, interests and learning preferences. However, several challenges still necessitate careful examination of AI's implications on education. Issues like algorithmic bias, the digital divide between socioeconomic groups, and concerns around reduced critical thinking skills all require addressing. If not developed and applied judiciously with these challenges in mind, AI risks exacerbating rather than alleviating existing inequities and hindering the cultivation of higher-order cognitive abilities. Through a comprehensive review of the relevant literature regarding AI's current and potential roles in education, this paper identifies several key considerations around learning outcomes, challenges and implications. Findings from interpretative structural modelling analysis also reveal the importance of balancing AI capabilities with safeguarding against potential downsides like those mentioned above. It is imperative that AI integration in education is approached responsibly with an understanding of both its promise and risks to learning to ensure its successful and equitable implementation for all students. Regulation 2024/1689 of the Eur. Parl. & Council of June 13, 2024 (Eu Artificial Intelligence Act)

Artificial intelligence (AI) systems are permeating all domains of our lives. Aside from the many opportunities they raise, their deployment can also hamper individual and societal interests. To counter these risks, regulators across the globe are therefore adopting normative initiatives to govern the technology. While these mostly consist of the promulgation of ethics guidelines and non-binding recommendations, the European Union (EU) opted for binding rules instead. In Spring 2024, it adopted a landmark regulation titled the Artificial Intelligence Act. The Act entered into force on August 1, 2024, and most of its provisions become applicable after two years. Since it systematically and punctiliously regulates the use of AI across sectors rather than focusing on a specific application domain, the AI Act is heralded as the first legal instrument of its kind. Its trendsetter status in the global AI regulatory landscape, coupled with its extraterritorial scope, means the Act is likely to shape the course of AI's uptake in Europe and beyond.

Understanding social, local and mobile (SoLoMo) commerce in fashion retailing using SOR framework

PurposeThis study investigates the interrelationship between lifestyle characteristics, perceived utilitarian value, hedonic value and shopping intention among SoLoMo (Social, Local, Mobile) fashion consumers. By adopting the SOR framework, this research aims to understand how businesses in the fashion industry implement the SoLoMo concept in their marketing strategies.Design/methodology/approachThe empirical validation of the framework is based on quantitative data collected from 352 SoLoMo fashion consumers. Structural equation modeling (SEM) using SMART-PLS version 4 is employed for statistical testing and analysis.FindingsThe study’s findings indicate a strong connection between information, Brand Prestige and social interaction with both utilitarian and hedonic values among SoLoMo fashion consumers. This underscores the need for retailers to create enjoyable and emotionally satisfying shopping experiences that positively influence the SoLoMo purchase behavior of fashion consumers. By recognizing and addressing the unique value preferences of these consumers, retailers can effectively use SoLoMo channels to enhance customer engagement and boost sales.Research limitations/implicationsThe study’s findings offer strategic insights for online retailers aiming to enhance the customer shopping journey through the SoLoMo channels. The results highlight the importance of providing reliable information and suggest that retailers should position their platforms as trustworthy sources to reduce customer confusion. Additionally, personalized notifications and recommendations tailored to individual fashion preferences and interests are recommended to meet customers’ specific needs.Originality/valueThe originality of the study lies in the exploration of SoLoMo channels to leverage the shopping experience for fashion consumers in typical. The practical insights for the fashion retailers and advancement of SOR in fashion retailing are some critical extensions of the study.
