The Adolescent Mental Health Consequences of Social Media Usage

This paper looks into the impact of social media on an individual’s mental health status in the adolescent population. The scope of the study includes both addiction and recovery, addressing risks such as anxiety, depression, and distorted self-perception associated with the continuous use of social platforms like Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, etc. Besides recognizing the detrimental impacts of bullying, body image comparison, and excessive use of screens, the paper also underlines some advantages of social media, such as connecting people and access to assistance. In the present research, numerical indicators and empirical observations are used, i.e. the nvestigation is conducted on the basis of the mixed research method. It reveals variations in social media effects amongst adolescents based on the moderating variables of individual characteristics and situational context. The paper ends with solutions to alleviate the negative effects, such as digital literacy education, parental guidance, and mental health strategies while fostering the healthy usage of social media regarding mental health. These findings suggest the need for a longitudinal study in order to assess the changes over time in this somewhat new aspect.

Predicting the impact of integrated audio-visual environments on perceived restorative benefits across different park types: A field study based on seven parks in Hangzhou, China

The human perception of environments is a complex mechanism, influenced not only by visual and auditory stimuli and their perceptual outcomes, but also by personal characteristics, site types, and other factors that affect people's restorative experiences. However, there is little research that treats it as a complete systemic phenomenon to reveal its integrated impact. We surveyed 1161 visitors in seven urban parks in Hangzhou, China, and collected information on audio-visual stimuli. Using structural equation modeling and multi-group analysis, we initially examined the comprehensive impact of acoustic factors, non-acoustic factors, and individual characteristic variables on perceived restorativeness. Subsequently, we studied the effects of different park types on the constructed multivariate comprehensive model. The results confirm that the presence of different types of sound sources within landscape features can impact the auditory affective quality dimension, which in turn affects visitors' perceived restorative experiences. In addition, the reported mediating pathways revealed that visual elements related to nature, by providing high-quality visual landscapes, enhance the pleasantness of soundscapes and yield greater restorative benefits in park environments. A new finding of the study was that, although the eventfulness of the soundscape negatively affects perceived restorativeness, the presence of high-quality visual landscapes in the environment can compensate for this deficiency. Further multi-group analysis results show that landscape features and visual perceptual quality indirectly influence perceived restorativeness through the auditory affective quality dimension, resulting in varied correlations across two types of park. Moreover, the pleasantness of soundscapes consistently has a significant effect on perceived restorativeness in both types of parks; however, in parks oriented towards activity, the eventfulness dimension of soundscapes does not significantly affect perceived restorativeness. Lastly, the influence of landscape features on perceived restorativeness, mediated by types of sound sources, is both direct and indirect, leading to diverse correlations across different park environments. These detailed findings and guidelines for audio-visual interaction design will aid in the planning and development of urban soundscapes.

GMM estimation for high-dimensional panel data models

In this paper, we study a class of high dimensional moment restriction panel data models with interactive effects, where the factors are unobserved and these factor loadings are nonparametrically unknown smooth functions of individual characteristic variables. We allow the dimension of the parameter vector and the number of moment conditions to diverge with the sample size. This is a very general framework and is closely related to many existing linear and nonlinear panel data models. In order to estimate the unknown parameters, factors and factor loadings, we propose a sieve-based generalized method of moments estimation method and we show that under a set of simple identification conditions, all those unknown quantities can be consistently estimated. Further we establish asymptotic distributions of the proposed estimators. In addition, we propose tests for over-identification, specification of factor loading functions, and establish their large sample properties. Moreover, a number of simulation studies are conducted to examine the performance of the proposed estimators and test statistics in finite samples. An empirical example on stock return prediction is studied to demonstrate both the empirical relevance and the applicability of the proposed framework and corresponding estimation and testing methods.

Regeneration of rural rice farmers in Central Java Province

Central Java Province is one of the rice production centers in Java Island which plays a role in supporting national food availability. The phenomenon of a decrease in the number of agricultural business households over 10 years by 16.3 % indicates a shift in the interest of people working in the agricultural sector, switching to other sectors outside the agricultural sector. The lack of interest of the younger generation in farming indicates the phenomenon of a shift in community interest in the agricultural sector. This is inseparable from the regeneration of farmers in rural areas. This research uses the basic method of descriptive analysis. The research location was determined by purposive method so that the district with the largest average harvest area and rice production, namely Grobogan District and the location that reflects the adoption of technology, namely Sukoharjo District. The number of research samples was 250 samples of rice farmers in Central Java Province. Factors affecting the regeneration of rice farmers in Central Java Province were analyzed by SEM PLS. The results of the inner model analysis showed (1) latent variables of individual characteristics, socio-cultural environment, and farmer empowerment significantly positive effect on the performance of rice farmers, (2) economic environment variables and farm management had, a significantly negative effect on the performance of rice farmers, (3) latent variables of socio-cultural environment, economic environment, and performance of rice farmers have a significant positive effect on the regeneration of rice farmers in Central Java Province and (4) variable farmer empowerment has a significant negative effect on the regeneration of rice farmers in Central Java Province. The results of the model fit analysis and quality indices show that the model fit test has been fit (ideal).

HUBUNGAN KARAKTERISTIK DENGAN PARTISIPASI MASYARAKAT DALAM PENGELOLAAN SAMPAH RUMAH TANGGA DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS PIR II BAJUBANG KABUPATEN MUARO JAMBI

Community characteristics contribute greatly to waste management. The characteristics of the community in the working area of ​​the Bajubang PIR II Community Health Center are very varied. The aim of the research is to determine the relationship between community characteristics and community participation in managing household waste in the PIR II Bajubang Community Health Center Working Area, Muaro Jambi Regency. The research method used is quantitative using an observational analytical design, in accordance with the research objective which is to explain the relationship between variables. The research location is in the PIR II Bajubang Health Center Working Area, Muaro Jambi Regency. The population is 2,322 housewives with a research sample of 92 housewives The instruments used were: questionnaire and checklist. Data analysis used the statistical test used was Chi-Square with a confidence level of 95% where α = 0.05. The results of the study showed that no Chi-square statistical test results were calculated because the respondents' attitudes towards the environment were constant, namely good for all, while family members had nothing to do with community participation. Meanwhile, other individual characteristic variables were significantly related to community participation in waste management. . Conclusion: The dominant characteristics of community participation in managing household waste in the PIR II Bajubang Community Health Center Working Area, Muaro Jambi Regency. The results of multivariate analysis using logistic regression statistical tests showed that the most dominant variables were the education variable and the income variable had a p value <0.05.

Burnout in podiatrists associated with individual characteristics, workplace and job satisfaction: A national survey.

Burnout is highly prevalent among health practitioners. It negatively impacts job performance, patient care, career retention and psychological well-being. This study aimed to identify factors associated with burnout among Australian podiatrists. Data were collected from registered podiatrists via four online surveys administered annually from 2017 to 2020 as part of the Podiatrists in Australia: Investigating Graduate Employment (PAIGE) study. Information was collected about work history, job preferences, personal characteristics, health, personality, life experiences and risk-taking behaviours. Multiple logistic regression analyses were used to determine if (i) individual characteristics, (ii) workplace factors and (iii) job satisfaction measures were associated with burnout (based on the abbreviated Maslach Burnout Inventory). A total of 848 responses were included, with 268 podiatrists (31.6%) experiencing burnout. Participants experiencing burnout were slightly younger, more recent to practice, had poorer health, greater mental distress, lower scores for resilience, extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, emotional stability and openness to experiences. They were less likely to have financial and clinical risk-taking behaviour and more likely to have career risk-taking behaviour. Prediction accuracy of these individual characteristic variables for burnout was 72.4%. Participants experiencing burnout were also more likely to work in private practice, have more work locations, work more hours, more direct patient hours, see more patients, have shorter consultation times, more likely to bulk bill chronic disease management plans, have less access to sick leave and professional development and be more likely to intend to leave patient care and the profession within 5years than participants not experiencing burnout. Prediction accuracy of these workplace-related variables for burnout was 67.1%. Participants experiencing burnout were less satisfied with their job. Prediction accuracy of these variables for burnout was 78.8%. Many of the factors associated with burnout in Australian podiatrists are modifiable, providing opportunities to implement targeted prevention strategies. The strength of association of these factors indicates high potential for strategies to be successful.

THE INFLUENCE OF LEADERSHIP STYLE, COMMUNICATION AND INDIVIDUAL CHARACTERISTICS ON TEACHER PERFORMANCE AT SMK NEGERI 1 SINABANG

This study was conducted with the aim of analyzing how the influence of leadership style, communication and individual characteristics on teacher performance at SMK Negeri 1 Sinabang. This research was conducted at SMK Negeri 1 Sinabang, with hypothesis testing using Technical Analysis Test (T) Partial and Test (F) Simultaneous, the number of samples was 43 respondents. Research data is obtained using interview methods and questions / questionnaires. Based on the results of the analysis, it shows that the partial test between the variables of Leadership Style, Communication and Individual Characteristics has a significant influence on teacher performance at SMK Negeri 1 Sinabang. Then simultaneously, namely Leadership Style, Communication and Individual Characteristics have a significant influence on teacher performance at SMK Negeri 1 Sinabang. The results of Partial Test (T) data processing, the Leadership Style variable has a calculated T of 2.909 and Sig. 0.034, the Communication variable has a calculated T of 2.785 and Sig. 0.047, and the Individual Characteristics variable has a calculated T value of 3.051 and Sig. 0.047. On the other hand, the Simultaneous Test (F) obtained F count of 3.368 > F table 2.85 of these values can be interpreted that the independent variables together simultaneously affect the dependent variable.

Has the Advancement of the Digital Economy Improved the Well-being of the Population? --Empirical Study Based on Chinese Provincial Panel Data

Promoting the long-term prosperity of a country by exploring the relationship between the digital economy and residents' happiness holds great significance. This research quantifies the extent of digital economy progress through the utilization of the Critic approach. The investigation assesses the evolution in disparities in digital economy development levels across various provinces. Since happiness is a discrete ordered response variable, this paper utilizes an ordered probit model to investigate the impact relationship, incorporating individual characteristic variables. Furthermore, this study takes the sense of social justice as the mediating variable to test whether the development level of digital economy has a mediating effect on residents' happiness. The empirical results imply that the disparity in digital economy development levels among provinces gradually decreases over time, and boosting digital economy development positively make contributions to improving residents' happiness. The impact effect comprises both direct and indirect effects; specifically, digital economy development directly affects residents' happiness and indirectly influences it by enhancing their sense of social fairness. Based on these conclusions, this paper offers relevant recommendations to promote national prosperity and enhance residents' happiness.

Individual Characteristic and Organizational Influence on Employee Performance at Rural Bank PT. Prisma Dana Main Branch Manado

This study aims to examine the effect of individual characteristics variables and organizational characteristics variables on the performance of employees of PT. Prisma Dana Main Branch Manado. The stages of research methods in this study used quantitative research methods, where this is a scientific method to obtain valid data with the aim of discovering, proving and developing knowledge so that it can be used to understand, solve and anticipate problems in a particular field. In terms of type, this research is an explanatory research that explains the relationship between research variables, then determines the entire population of 32 which is used as a sample. The research design used is a type of survey research. The results showed that partially individual characteristics and organizational characteristics had a positive and significant effect on the performance of employees at PT. Prisma Dana Main Branch Manado and simultaneously, individual characteristics and organizational characteristics had a significant positive effect on the performance of employees of PT. Prisma Dana Main Branch Manado.

농업전문직의 교육훈련 현업적용도 영향요인 연구

Objectives The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of agricultural professionals’ training transfer varia-bles on their training transfer in the workplace. In order to achieve this, the following problems were addressed: First, what is the relationship between the training transfer characteristics and training transfer in the workplace of agricultural professionals? Second, what is the relationship between each training transfer variable and training transfer in the workplace of agricultural professionals? Methods For this study, 3 months after participants returned to work, 486 questionnaires were distributed to agri-cultural professionals participating in job training program of Agricultural Human Resources Development Center for March to November in 2019. Participants were limited to those who participated in programs suitable for grasping transfer of training. Out of 486, 428 questionnaires were analyzed. Hierarchical regression analysis was conducted to examine the relationship between training transfer variables and training transfer. Results First, there was the relationship between the training transfer characteristics and training transfer. Among the training transfer characteristics, Self-efficacy and learning transfer motivation of personal psychological traits, job-related and learning transfer design of training program, and supervisor support and peer support of transfer climate had positive impacts on training transfer. Second, The effective training transfer variables to training trans-fer affect training transfer in following order: learning transfer motivation, peer support, job-related, self-efficacy, and supervisor support. Conclusions In order for agricultural professionals to apply training contents to the field, there is a need to examine the effective variables that affect self-efficacy and motivation, make an effort to strengthen motivation, organize training programs related to duties, design the programs reflecting learners’ needs, and provide experience data and action plans. In addition, it is necessary that organization provide opportunities for trainees to apply training contents to the field and there is a need of transfer climate such as continuous peer support and unconstrained communication. It also suggests that for professionals who value problem-solving-oriented jobs and personal competencies, research on various individual characteristic variables among the factors influencing field applica-tion is necessary.

Pengaruh Budaya Organisasi, Lingkungan Kerja dan Karakteristik Individu Terhadap Kinerja Karyawan

This study aims to determine and analyze the effect of organizational culture, work environment, and individual characteristics on employee performance in a company. This research uses quantitative methods with descriptive analysis. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires to 138 employee respondents at a company. The sample used in this study was 102 respondents. The data analysis technique used in this study is the Outer Model with the calculation of Convergent Reliability, Discriminant Validity, Composite Reliability, Cronbach's Alpha and Inner Model with the calculation of T-statistic, f-square, and VIF using Smartpls 4.0. The results showed that all variables of Organizational Culture, Work Environment, and Individual Characteristics had a positive and significant effect on Employee Performance in a Company.

The Influence of Leadership Style, Individual Characteristics and Work Environment on Member Performance at Kesdam XII/Tanjungpura Pontianak

The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of leadership style, individual characteristics and work environment on the performance of members in Kesdam XII / Tanjungpura Pontianak, either simultaneously or partially. This study also wanted to analyze which variables of leadership style, individual characteristics and work environment had dominant influence on the performance of members in Kesdam XII / Tanjungpura Pontianak. This type of research is an explanatory research type. The study population was all members of Kesdam XII / Tanjungpura Pontianak, as many as 50 members. Considering that the population is not too large, a census research is used, namely all members of the Kesdam XII / Tanjungpura Pontianak will be research respondents. The analysis method uses multiple linear regression and hypothesis testing. The results showed that the leadership style, individual characteristics and work environment on the performance of members in Kesdam XII / Tanjungpura Pontianak, either simultaneously or partially. Furthermore, this study identifies that leadership style has a dominant effect on the performance of members in Kesdam XII / Tanjungpura Pontianak.

Pengaruh Karakteristik Individu, Lingkungan Kerja Dan Komitmen Terhadap Kinerja Pegawai Pada Dinas Badan Pengelola Keuangan Dan Aset Daerah (BPKAD) Rantauprapat

This study aims to analyze the effect of individual characteristics, work environment and commitment to employee performance at the Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency (BPKAD) Rantauprapat. The research method used in this research is quantitative. In this study, the population was 40 employees of the Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency (BPKAD) Rantauprapat. The research sample used saturated sampling technique by drawing the entire existing population to serve as a research sample with a total of 40 people. The data collection techniques used are observation, documentation studies and questionnaires. The method of analysis of this research is multiple linear regression with the SPSS program. The results of the study prove that Individual Characteristics have a positive and significant effect on Employee Performance at the Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency (BPKAD) Rantauprapat. Work Environment has a positive and significant effect on Employee Performance at the Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency (BPKAD) Rantauprapat. Commitment has a positive and significant effect on Employee Performance at the Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency (BPKAD) Rantauprapat. Individual Characteristics, Work Environment and Commitment simultaneously have a positive and significant effect on Employee Performance at the Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency (BPKAD) Rantauprapat. The coefficient of determination of 0.585 means that employee performance can be explained by the variables of Individual Characteristics (X1), Work Environment (X2) and Commitment (X3) by 58.5%, while the remaining 41.5% can be explained by other variables not examined in this study.

Pengaruh karakteristik individu dan karakteristik organisasi terhadap pengembangan karir pegawai dinas Pertanian Tanaman Pangan dan Hortikultura

Individual characteristics and organizational characteristics are the two variables used in this study to analyze employee career development. The object of research is an employee of the Agriculture, Food Crops and Horticulture Office of West Aceh district. The type of method used is quantitative through data collection using a total sampling technique, namely taking data on the entire population of 56 respondents. Primary data was collected through a questionnaire with a Likert scale and data analysis through the techniques used were validity and reliability tests; classic assumption test, multiple linear regression analysis; t test, F test and the coefficient of determination (R²) with a computer application program tool, namely SPSS. The results of the analysis show that the individual characteristic variable (X1) is negative. This shows that individual characteristics (X1) have no significant effect on the career development variable (Y) and the organizational characteristics variable (X2) shows a positive value. This shows that organizational characteristics have a significant effect on career development variables (Y) and the F test is known to be positive which indicates that individual characteristics variables (X1) and organizational characteristics (X2) have a significant influence simultaneously on career development variables.

Pengaruh Harbolnas, Fitur Shopee Paylater dan Koin Shopee terhadap Perilaku Impulse Buying dengan Karakteristik Individu sebagai Variabel Intervening:

In an increasingly advanced era, humans are required to keep abreast of the times in order to keep pace with life. Technological advances in obtaining information are certainly very influential in the development of technology-based businesses. This study aims to determine the effect of Harbolnas, shopee paylater features and shopee coins on impulse buying behavior with individual characteristics as intervening variables (case study of Islamic campus students in North Sumatra). This research was conducted with a quantitative approach method and used 3 independent variables, namely Harbolnas (X1), Shopee Paylater (X2) and Shopee Coins (X3) and one dependent variable, namely impulse buying (Y) and one intervening variable, namely individual characteristics (Z). . The sample used in this study were students of an Islamic campus in North Sumatra with 99 samples of shopee users. The type of data used is by distributing questionnaires. While the technique that researchers use to analyze is path analysis. The results of this study indicate that (i) the Harbolnas variable has no significant effect on the impulse buying variable (ii) the shopee paylater feature variable has a positive and significant direct effect on impulse buying (iii) the shopee coin variable has a positive and significant direct effect on impulse buying ( iv) individual characteristic variables cannot mediate harbolnas variable on impulse buying behavior (v) individual characteristic variable is able to mediate shopee paylater variable on impulse buying behavior (vi) individual characteristic variable is able to mediate shopee coin variable on impulse buying behavior. (vii) individual characteristic variables have a negative and significant effect on impulse buying.

Analisis faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi tingkat keberdayaan perempuan

This study aims to analyze the factors that influence the level of women's empowerment. The method used is survey research with a quantitative verification approach. The research was conducted in Indramayu Regency, using the Multiple Stage Sampling technique. Five (5) sub-districts were taken from 31 sub-districts, and 20 respondents were randomly selected from each sub-district so that the total number was 100 women respondents. Individual characteristics, competence, and availability of information are exogenous variables while the endogenous variable is the level of women's power. Analysis using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), with calculations assisted by Smart PLS 4 software. The validity test was carried out to see valid indicators based on the loading factor value > 0.5, the reliability test was carried out on the research variables, and the SEM model was obtained in iteration 2. The results showed that individual characteristic variables, competence, and information availability contributed 61% to women's empowerment level. Individual characteristics have a positive effect of 0.77 and are significant on the level of women's empowerment. Women's competence needs to be increased, as well as the availability of information so that women can play an active role and increase their involvement in the economy and development.

The Influence of Individual Characteristics, Work Motivation and Organizational Support on Employee Performance

This study aims to determine the effect of individual characteristics, work motivation and organizational support on employee performance (PNS Staff) at the Population and Civil Registry Service, Gresik Regency, East Java Province. This study took a sample of 30 people using a saturated sampling technique while measuring data using a Likert scale. The analysis technique uses test instruments (validity test and reliability test) to test the quality and consistency of measuring instruments, model test/classical assumption test (normality test, multicollinearity test and heteroscedasticity test). The results of the study stated that individual characteristics, work motivation and organizational support had a positive and significant effect on the performance of employees at the Population and Civil Registry Service, Gresik Regency, East Java Province. Based on the results of the t test, the three independent variables have a partial effect. The final conclusion is that the variables of individual characteristics, work motivation, and organizational support are able to explain changes in performance variables.

Entrepreneurial competencies and farm management performance of potato farmers in Solok Regency

Solok Regency has excellent potential in growing vegetables and fruit, which significantly contribute to West Sumatra’s economy. Solok Regency is the largest potato-producing area in West Sumatra. However, since 2015 there has been a drastic decline in potato production. The negative growth of potato production was affected by several factors, including sub-optimal farming management. Farmers’ lack of passion and entrepreneurial ability is one of the socioeconomic factors that hinder the development of their potential in managing productive businesses in rural areas. This paper analyses the entrepreneurial competency of potato farmers in Solok Regency and examines the effect of entrepreneurial competency on the farm management performance of potato farmers in Solok Regency. This study finds that the level of entrepreneurial competency of potato farmers is at a moderate level. Moreover, PLS path analysis found that the variables of individual characteristics of farmers, entrepreneurial characteristics, and business environment are a reference in measuring the entrepreneurial competency of Potato Farmers. Furthermore, entrepreneurial competency, individual characteristics of farmers, entrepreneurial characteristics, and business environment positively and significantly affect the farm management performance of Potato Farmers in Solok Regency. Farmer entrepreneurs do not work alone. However, they operate in a complex and dynamic environment. Despite the level of farmers’ competency ranging from moderate to high, it needs support from other parties to give farmers access to superior seeds and better prices for inputs and output.

What factors affect corporate bond financing costs? -- Taking the corporate bonds of Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges of China as an example

This paper focuses on the factors which influence the corporate bond financing cost. Based on the complexity and diversity of influencing factors of corporate bond financing costs, this paper discusses them from macro and micro dimensions. This paper discovers that PMI, a macroeconomic indicator, influences bond financing costs positively; the higher the PMI, the more prosperous the economy is, and the more expensive bond financing is. Other macroeconomic variables have varying effects on the financing costs of corporate bonds with various ratings and maturities. Among the individual bond characteristic variables at the micro level, the bond maturity, the issuer's asset liability ratio, and whether the bonds are guaranteed have a positive impact on the bond financing cost, while the bond issuance amount, the issuer's return on equity, and the issuer's corporate nature negatively affect the cost of bond financing. Therefore, the suggestions are: Firstly, for the governments, when PMI increases, it is necessary to introduce corresponding policies to reduce the financing costs of enterprises; Secondly, for the issuer, it should improve its ROE and reduce the asset liability ratio, select the appropriate bond covenants, and consider the macroeconomic situation to choose the appropriate time to issue bonds to reduce financing costs; Thirdly, for bond investors, they should pay attention to macroeconomic fluctuations, study bond covenants and financial indicators.

INFLUENCE OF INDIVIDUAL CHARACTERISTICS, BEHAVIOR AND NOISE INTENSITY ON BLOOD PRESSURE IN PONOROGO PLASTIC INDUSTRY’S WORKERS

Background: Noise is an unwanted sound that can be caused by any human activity. Continuous use of machines that produce noise in the work environment will have a negative impact on workers, for example is increasing blood pressure. Purpose: This study aimed to analyze the influence of individual characteristics, behavior and noise intensity on increasing blood pressure in workers in the Ponorogo’s plastic industry. Methods: The study used prospective cohort design. The sample of the study was 32 respondents who received continuous noise exposure from injection machine for 8 hours/ day. The variables include individual characteristics, behavior, noise intensity, and increased blood pressure. The data were analyzed using SPSS with paired sample t-test and multiple linear regression. Results: The result showed that the average increase in systolic and diastolic blood pressure before and after working is 5.75 mmHg and 5.31 mmHg. If analyzed by statistical paired t-test, the significance value of p = 0.00 < α = 0.05 is obtained. Furthermore, multiple linear regression test is used for variables of individual characteristics, behavior and noise intensity on increasing blood pressure showing a significance value of 0.00 <0.05 and F count (6.79 and 6.32) > F table (2.49). Conclusion: Individual characteristics, behavior and noise intensity have an effect on increasing blood pressure in workers in the Ponorogo’s plastic industry. Medical checkup and ear protection equipment are needed for workers.
