ОСОБЛИВОСТІ УПРАВЛІННЯ БІЗНЕС-ПРОЦЕСАМИ НА ОСНОВІ РЕФЛЕКСИВНОГО ПІДХОДУ: ТЕОРЕТИКО-МЕТОДОЛОГІЧНІ АСПЕКТИ

In the context of the war in Ukraine and the rapidly changing business environment, the implementation of innovative approaches to business process management has become increasingly relevant. The reflexive approach ensures continuous analysis and optimisation of business processes, enhancing the competitiveness and adaptability of enterprises amidst uncertainty and risks. Thе article examines the theoretical and methodological aspects of managing business processes based on the reflexive approach during the war in Ukraine. The main principles and stages of reflexive management, its impact on the efficiency of business processes, and the organisational structure of enterprises are analysed. The article aims to develop a theoretical and methodological foundation for implementing the reflexive approach to business process management in wartime. It is established that the reflexive approach to business process management during wartime ensures improved process efficiency, cost reduction, and enhanced quality of products and services. Research aims to expand scientific knowledge on new management methods that can enhance the effectiveness of business processes in challenging environments. The development of new management approaches and tools tailored to wartime conditions will enable Ukrainian enterprises to operate effectively, maintain competitiveness, and increase resilience even amidst uncertainty. The research results demonstrate that applying the reflexive approach enables enterprises to adapt to external changes, respond promptly to wartime challenges, and improve their competitiveness. The use of modern reflexive approach tools in business process management in Ukraine is substantiated, allowing for the rapid collection and analysis of data, process modelling and optimisation, effective knowledge and collaboration management, decision support, and performance evaluation, thus maintaining business competitiveness in challenging conditions. The article provides practical recommendations for implementing the reflexive approach in business process management and identifies prospects for further research in this direction.

Efficient shielding gas supply for laser-based Powder Bed Fusion of metals (PBF-LB/M)

The inert gas supply during laser-based powder bed fusion of metals (PBF-LB/M) is one of the most important sub-processes influencing the quality of the end products and the efficiency of the printing process. However, improper distribution of the shielding gas flow can result in poor part quality and excessive energy and gas consumption. Thus, the formation of a homogeneous protective gas flow over the powder melting region is crucial to minimize the negative effects mentioned above. In this investigation, a modified system for supplying shielding gas to the building chamber of PBF-LB/M machine is developed with the possibility of creating localized and uniform gas flows over the area where the melting process takes place. The aim of the selectively localizable shielding gas supply is to improve process efficiency of PBF-LB/M while giving the opportunity to enhance part properties such as surface roughness.

The relationship of inspirational leadership and green supply chain management to reinforce the performance of SMEs

The aim of this research is to analyze the relationship between inspirational leadership and performance and the relationship between green supply chain management and performance improvement. This research method is quantitative. Research data was obtained by distributing online questionnaires via social media, the questionnaire was designed using statement items with a Likert scale of 1 to 7. The respondents for this research were 678 SMEs owners in Indonesia who were determined using the simple random sampling method. The data analysis technique for this research uses partial least squares (PLS) structural equation modeling (SEM) analysis with SmartPLS 3.0 software data processing tools. The stages of research analysis are validity testing, reliability testing and hypothesis testing (significance). The results of the research show that inspirational leadership has a positive and significant effect on performance. With the existence of inspirational leadership on HR performance it will have a positive effect if employees get trust and good examples from leaders, and employees get inspiration and motivation so they can create new innovations that make the company more advanced. Green supply chain management has a positive and significant effect on improving performance. The concept in green supply chain management provides the possibility for organizations to improve process efficiency, waste recycling management, the ability to attract new suppliers and consumers, organizations can save costs, reduce delivery times through collaboration with suppliers and consumers which can ultimately improve operational performance.

Integrated Experimental Phase Equilibria and Thermodynamic Modelling Research and Implementation in support of progress of process pyrometallurgy towards sustainability

Responding to the many sustainability challenges facing the metallurgical industry, we report progress that has been made on the development of predictive tools that can be applied to a wide range of technologies. The aim is to provide accurate, fundamentally-based thermodynamic tools that can be used by industry to improve process efficiencies, metal recoveries and productivities, and reduce energy requirements of pyrometallurgical systems. The program involves an integrated experimental and thermodynamic modelling research on phase equilibria in complex multi-component, multi-phase gas-slag-matte-speiss-metal-solids system with the Cu2O-PbO-ZnO-FeO-Fe2O3-CaO-Al2O3-MgO-SiO2-S major and As-Sn-Sb-Bi-Ag-Au-Ni-Co-Cr-Na minor elements. The experiments involve high temperature equilibration in controlled gas atmospheres, rapid quenching and direct measurement of equilibrium phase compositions with quantitative microanalytical techniques, including electron probe X-ray microanalysis and Laser Ablation ICP-MS. The thermodynamic modelling is undertaken using FactSage software package with advanced thermodynamic solution models. The continuing development of analytical and research methodologies has resulted in significant advances in predictive capability. Implementation of the results of fundamental studies involves ongoing collaboration of researchers and industry technologists, and the provision of advanced professional training. An overview of recent progress in research, implementation and applications in industrial practice will be presented in the paper.

Evolution in geosynthetics starts with utilizing data technology

This paper focuses on the automation of the geosynthetics installation QA/QC process by way of software integration in the field data entry and office data management. Technology is essential to the advancement of geosynthetic installations, especially data application. In its most basic form, data application is a means of gathering, storing, and utilizing information more easily than its predecessor(s). If implemented appropriately, data application technology improves process efficiency. Users and downstream stakeholders of process improvements can then capitalize by delivering quicker, higher-quality, more economical products. The geosynthetics industry is lagging in the area of data application. From a feasibility perspective and assessing practical implementation opportunities, many workflows widely used for tracking geosynthetic installations and its associated means and methods are antiquated and, furthermore, lack reliable authenticity verification. The current accountability requirements require a robust catalog of information reporting to substantiate this important environmental construction practice. The combination of room to evolve in practice and existing data requirements make the geosynthetics industry an ideal suitor for this technology integration. While advancements in materials manufacturing, welding equipment, and post-installation leak surveys already contribute to progress, there is a lack of universally accepted information infrastructure to aggregate all facets of an installation. Software automation creates a cyclical geosynthetics ecosystem that benefits the industry as a whole.

Toward microfluidic continuous-flow and intelligent downstream processing of biopharmaceuticals.

Biopharmaceuticals have emerged as powerful therapeutic agents, revolutionizing the treatment landscape for various diseases, including cancer, infectious diseases, autoimmune and genetic disorders. These biotherapeutics pave the way for precision medicine with their unique and targeted capabilities. The production of high-quality biologics entails intricate manufacturing processes, including cell culture, fermentation, purification, and formulation, necessitating specialized facilities and expertise. These complex processes are subject to rigorous regulatory oversight to evaluate the safety, efficacy, and quality of biotherapeutics prior to clinical approval. Consequently, these drugs undergo extensive purification unit operations to achieve high purity by effectively removing impurities and contaminants. The field of personalized precision medicine necessitates the development of novel and highly efficient technologies. Microfluidic technology addresses unmet needs by enabling precise and compact separation, allowing rapid, integrated and continuous purification modules. Moreover, the integration of intelligent biomanufacturing systems with miniaturized devices presents an opportunity to significantly enhance the robustness of complex downstream processing of biopharmaceuticals, with the benefits of automation and advanced control. This allows seamless data exchange, real-time monitoring, and synchronization of purification steps, leading to improved process efficiency, data management, and decision-making. Integrating autonomous systems into biopharmaceutical purification ensures adherence to regulatory standards, such as good manufacturing practice (GMP), positioning the industry to effectively address emerging market demands for personalized precision nano-medicines. This perspective review will emphasize on the significance, challenges, and prospects associated with the adoption of continuous, integrated, and intelligent methodologies in small-scale downstream processing for various types of biologics. By utilizing microfluidic technology and intelligent systems, purification processes can be enhanced for increased efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and regulatory compliance, shaping the future of biopharmaceutical production and enabling the development of personalized and targeted therapies.

Atomistic-Continuum Study of an Ultrafast Melting Process Controlled by a Femtosecond Laser-Pulse Train.

In femtosecond laser fabrication, the laser-pulse train shows great promise in improving processing efficiency, quality, and precision. This research investigates the influence of pulse number, pulse interval, and pulse energy ratio on the lateral and longitudinal ultrafast melting process using an experiment and the molecular dynamics coupling two-temperature model (MD-TTM model), which incorporates temperature-dependent thermophysical parameters. The comparison of experimental and simulation results under single and double pulses proves the reliability of the MD-TTM model and indicates that as the pulse number increases, the melting threshold at the edge region of the laser spot decreases, resulting in a larger diameter of the melting region in the 2D lateral melting results. Using the same model, the lateral melting results of five pulses are simulated. Moreover, the longitudinal melting results are also predicted, and an increasing pulse number leads to a greater early-stage melting depth in the melting process. In the case of double femtosecond laser pulses, the pulse interval and pulse energy ratio also affect the early-stage melting depth, with the best enhancement observed with a 2 ps interval and a 3:7 energy ratio. However, pulse number, pulse energy ratio, and pulse interval do not affect the final melting depth with the same total energies. The findings mean that the phenomena of melting region can be flexibly manipulated through the laser-pulse train, which is expected to be applied to improve the structural precision and boundary quality.

Improved Soil Amendment by Integrating Metal Complexes and Biodegradable Complexing Agents in Superabsorbents.

The superabsorbents' application as materials for the preparation of modern mineral fertilizers of controlled activity is presented. Under the static conditions, the commercial acrylic-based Agro® Hydrogel was used as a sorbent for Cu(II), Fe(III), Mn(II), and Zn(II) ions in the presence of three biodegradable complexing agents of the new generation: (N-1,2-dicarboxyethyl)-D,L-aspartate acid (IDHA), N,N-ethylenediaminedisuccinic acid (EDDS) and N,N-bis(carboxymethyl) glutamic acid (GLDA). The ions and complexes concentrations were determined by the inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometer (ICP-OES). The characterization of hydrogel before and after the adsorption process was made using the Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), surface area determination (ASAP), scanning electron microscopy (SEM-EDS) as well as the thermogravimetric (TGA) methods. The influence of the phase contact time, initial concentration, and pH on the adsorption capacities was investigated. The kinetic and adsorption parameters were determined. The Langmuir, Freundlich, Dubinin-Radushkevich, and Temkin adsorption models were applied to describe the experimental data. The Langmuir isotherm model accurately characterized the equilibrium process. The adsorption process was fast, and it reached equilibrium after 60 min of the phase contact time. The research on the adsorption of Cu(II), Fe(III), Mn(II), and Zn(II) onto Agro® Hydrogel with IDHA, EDDS, and GLDA indicates that these complexing agents improve process efficiency.

Tiny swabs: nasal swabs integrated into tube caps facilitate large-scale self-collected SARS-CoV-2 testing.

The COVID-19 pandemic spurred the development of innovative solutions for specimen collection and molecular detection for large-scale community testing. Among these developments is the RHINOstic nasal swab, a plastic anterior nares swab built into the cap of a standard matrix tube that facilitates automated processing of up to 96 specimens at a time. In a study of unsupervised self-collection utilizing these swabs, we demonstrate comparable analytic performance and shipping stability compared to traditional anterior nares swabs, as well as significant improvements in laboratory processing efficiency. The use of these swabs may allow laboratories to accommodate large numbers of sample collections during periods of high testing demand. Automation-friendly nasal swabs are an important tool for high-throughput processing of samples that may be adopted in response to future respiratory viral pandemics.

Evaluasi Kinerja Web Haji dan Umrah NSK Group Pekanbaru Perspektif Pengguna Menggunakan Framework Cobit 2019

This research is grounded in the importance of websites in providing services for Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages, reflecting the role of technological advancement in delivering information and facilities to pilgrims. The primary aim of this study is to understand the role of websites in facilitating Hajj and Umrah services and to evaluate their effectiveness in enhancing the experiences and satisfaction of pilgrims. A qualitative descriptive methodology was employed, gathering data through direct observation and questionnaires, supplemented by an analysis of relevant literature. The findings indicate that effective and user-friendly websites enhance pilgrim experiences and simplify the processes of booking, accommodation, and transportation. An analysis using the COBIT 2019 framework underscores the significance of IT management in improving website performance. The implications of this study highlight the need for continuous innovation and improvement in data security, incident management, and business process efficiency of websites to increase customer satisfaction and ensure the efficient and secure provision of Hajj and Umrah services.

Quality by Design in Pharmaceuticals: A Review of its Impact on Regulatory Compliance and Product Quality.

The pharmaceutical industry has embraced the quality-by-design (QbD) approach as a promising development, formulation and manufacturing strategy. QbD provides a systematic and science-based framework for designing and producing high-quality products, with a particular focus on identifying, assessing and controlling risks throughout the development process. This review aims to assess the benefits of implementing QbD in pharmaceutical processes, evaluate its impact on regulatory compliance and explore its potential to enhance drug product quality. The primary objective of this review is to evaluate the influence of QbD on pharmaceutical development and manufacturing processes. It also seeks to examine the regulatory requirements associated with the implementation of QbD and highlight the advantages of this approach in terms of product quality and cost-effectiveness. Additionally, the review aims to explore the potential of QbD in improving the safety and efficacy of drug products. The QbD approach holds tremendous potential to revolutionize the pharmaceutical industry by optimizing drug development & manufacturing processes, reducing costs and enhancing product quality and consistency. However, implementing QbD requires a comprehensive understanding of the underlying science, as well as strict adherence to regulatory requirements in drug development and manufacturing. In conclusion, by embracing the QbD approach, the pharmaceutical industry can ensure the production of safe, effective and regulation-compliant products while simultaneously improving process efficiency. This strategic shift toward QbD represents a pivotal step in advancing pharmaceutical research and manufacturing capabilities, ultimately benefiting both the industry and more importantly, patients worldwide.

A holistic framework for improving the prediction of reverse osmosis membrane performance using machine learning

Accurate prediction and modeling of RO membranes performance is crucial in desalination processes for proper process control and operation. Existing models do not consider all process parameters, leading to less understanding of the parameter's importance. In this study, 5 non-ensemble and 7 ensemble machine learning models were employed to predict the performance of RO membrane. Data from a modern RO desalination plant in the UAE was utilized for the models' building. Thirteen input parameters, including operational parameters, water characteristic parameters, and time-dependent parameters, were used to predict salt rejection. The results suggested that ensemble techniques are more capable of predicting the performance of RO membranes. Among ensemble methods, the XGBoost model was found to outperform other models. Recursive feature elimination was integrated with Shapley additive explanation analysis to gain insights into the most influential predictors and confirm the model's ability to comprehend the RO membrane mechanism. The findings highlighted that five parameters are critical for predicting RO membrane performance and could be prioritized for future monitoring to provide timely membrane performance warnings: the membrane's age, feed water temperature, pressure, feed water flow, and chloride concentration. It also indicated that maintaining lower temperatures, increasing feed water pressure, and increasing feed flow can improve process efficiency. The optimal XGBoost model was found to have an outstanding predictive performance with a high R2 (94.75) and a low RMSE (0.181). Ultimately, the framework proposed by this study can serve as a tool to simplify and understand complex membrane processes.

Impact of alkaline earth metal doping on the structural, electronic, and optical properties of all inorganic lead-free CsSnX3 (X = I, Br) perovskites: a first-principles study

Recently, researchers have focused on developing more stable, Pb-free perovskites with improved processing efficiency and notable light harvesting ability. In this regard, Sn-based (Sn-b) perovskites have gained considerable interest in developing eco-friendly perovskite solar cells (PSCs). However, the oxidation of Sn2+ to Sn4+ deteriorates the performance of Sn-b PSCs. Nevertheless, this issue could be mitigated by doping alkaline earth (AE) metal. Herein, we have studied the significance of AE doping on CsSnX3 (X = Br, I) perovskites using density functional theory based calculations. The structural, electronic, and optical properties of CsAE y Sn1−y X3 (y = 0, 0.25; AE = Be, Mg, Ca, Sr) compounds were systematically investigated to explore potential candidate materials for photovoltaic applications. Formation energy calculations suggested that the synthesis of other AE-doped compounds is energetically favorable except for the Be-doped compounds. The band gaps of the materials were calculated to be in the range of 0.12–1.02 eV using the generalized gradient approximation. Furthermore, the AE doping considerably lowers the exciton binding energy while remarkably enhancing the optical absorption of CsSnX3, which is beneficial for solar cells. However, in the case of Be and Mg doping, an indirect band gap is predicted. Our theoretical findings demonstrate the potential of executing AE-doped perovskites as absorber material in PSCs, which could deliver better performance than pristine CsSnX3 PSCs.

Microstructure evolution and fracture behavior of Ti–6Al–4V fabricated by WAAM-LDM additive manufacturing

WAAM and LDM are two typical DED technologies. WAAM-LDM additive manufacturing technology can achieve the purpose of producing large and complex Ti–6Al–4V components, improving processing efficiency and precision. However, there is a lack of in-depth research on the microstructure evolution mechanism and the fracture behavior of WAAM-LDM samples. Therefore, horizontal and vertical WAAM samples were invoked as the substrate for LDM processes in this study, and the mechanical properties and tensile fracture behavior under different load directions were evaluated. The results show that the samples fabricated by WAAM-LDM manufacturing consist of four zones: WAAM zone, heat affected zone (HAZ), remelting zone (RZ) and LDM zone. WAAM zone mainly composed of coarse colony structure, HAZ and RZ are dominated by α colonies and fine basketweave structure, respectively, and LDM zone consists of acicular α phases and fine basketweave structure. The thickness of α laths shows a trend of ‘WAAM > HAZ > LDM > RZ’. The strengths are greatly improved at the interfaces due to the good metallurgical bonding and finer microstructure. All the fractures locate at WAAM zone during tensile test and propagate along the basketweave structure. These strengths of WAAM-LDM samples under the action of horizontal loading are higher than that of WAAM samples, and all the elongations of WAAM-LDM samples are higher than 10 %.

The Stress Strain Analysis of Forward Extrusion Process of Hollow Elements

This paper presents an analysis focused on the stress-strain dynamics within the forward extrusion process for hollow elements. The forward extrusion of hollow elements is characterized by extensive plastic deformation and complex material flow. This process involves splitting the metal continuum, subjecting it to plastic deformation, and merging it into a seamless product with a predetermined cross-sectional shape as it exits the tool. Employing modern numerical finite element methods is essential for designing such processes, as it enables the simulation of metal behavior within the tool. These simulations help predict mechanical parameters within the deformable material continuum, such as stress, strain, temperatures, and strain rates. Additionally, they allow for the optimization of tool designs tailored to the specific product, improving process efficiency and quality. Understanding the stress-strain distribution at individual nodes enables proactive measures to prevent mechanical disruptions within the continuum, ensuring the integrity and quality of the final product—an essential criterion in the forward extrusion process for hollow elements.

Assessing the Sensitivity of the Heat Transfer Coefficient at the Polymer-Calibrator Interface in Profile Extrusion

One of the major challenges in modeling the cooling stage of the thermoplastic profile extrusion process is defining the heat transfer coefficient at the polymer-calibrator interface (hint), which significantly affects the cooling rate. Accurate values for the hint are essential for improving process efficiency using numerical modeling codes. In the existing literature, values of hint are only available for a limited number of cases, and there are no systematic studies regarding the influence of processing conditions on this parameter. This study focuses on the determination of accurate values for hint and on the influence of processing parameters, namely: cooling fluid temperature, pulling velocity, and vacuum pressure. To accomplish this, a previously developed calibrator prototype, and associated methodology, targeting the measurement of hint for thermoplastic materials, is utilized in a conventional profile extrusion line. The results obtained show hint values in the range of 200–1500 W·m−2·K−1, which is in accordance with the results published in the available literature. The results also reveal that the cooling fluid temperature and the pulling velocity have the most substantial influence on hint, while vacuum pressure has minimal impact within the range of the experiments conducted.

Quest for high performance carbon capture membranes: Fabrication of SAPO‐34 and CNTs‐doped polyethersulfone‐based mixed‐matrix membranes

AbstractGas separation process is an effective method for capturing and removing CO2 from post‐combustion flue gases. Due to their various essential properties such as ability to improve process efficiency, polymeric membranes are known to dominate the market. Trade‐off between gas permeability and selectivity through membranes limits their separation performance. In this study, solution casting cum phase separation method was utilized to create polyethersulfone‐based composite membranes doped with carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and silico aluminophosphate (SAPO‐34) as nanofiller materials. Membrane properties were then examined by performing gas permeation test, chemical structural analysis and optical microscopy. While enhancing membranes CO2 permeance, SAPO‐34 and CNTs mixture improved their CO2/N2 selectivity. By carefully adjusting membrane casting factors such as filler loadings. Using Taguchi statistical analysis, their carbon capture efficiency was improved. The improved mixed‐matrix membrane with loading of 5 wt% CNTs and 10 wt% SAPO‐34 in PES showed highly promising separation performance with a CO2 permeability of 319 Barrer and an ideal CO2/N2 selectivity of 12, both of which are within the 2008 Robeson upper bound. A better mixed‐matrix membrane with outstanding CO2/N2 selectivity and CO2 permeability was produced as a result of the synergistic effect of adding two types of fillers in optimized loading.

Simulation and modification of an Ethane-Ethylene separation Unit using vapor recompression heat Pump: Energy, Exergy, and economic analyses

This paper presents a comprehensive analysis involving simulation and thermo-economic evaluation of thermal integration technology, specifically the vapor recompression method, applied to an existing ethane-ethylene distillation process. The study commences with the simulation of the current process, revealing a favorable level of accuracy as evidenced by the strong agreement between simulation outcomes and real plant data. The energy analysis highlights key parameters, with consumption rates of 0.4 kg of refrigerant per kg of vapor in the condenser and 0.743 kg of heating fluid per kg of liquid in the reboiler. Moving to the economic analysis, the total investment cost for the existing process is estimated at 16,925,333 USD. However, a noteworthy concern is the high refrigerant consumption in the condenser, leading to elevated operational costs within ethylene production facilities. Consequently, this study focuses on reducing refrigerant consumption and enhancing the thermodynamic efficiency of the ethane-ethylene distillation column. Simulation results for the proposed process demonstrate an investment cost of 968,837 USD, marking a 5.72 % reduction compared to the current process. The optimization process, driven by sensitivity analysis, determines the optimal outlet fluid pressure for the compressor, setting it at 3730 kPa. Under this optimized condition, refrigerant consumption for condensing the overhead vapors within the distillation column drops by a significant 34.29 % compared to the base case. From an energy perspective, the optimal Mechanical Vapor Recompression method leads to a substantial reduction in utility consumption, decreasing the rate for feed separation from 3.92 kg of utilities per kg of feed to 1.52 kg of utilities per kg of feed. This represents an impressive improvement in process efficiency. The exergy analysis reveals that the Joule-Thomson valve is the primary contributor to total exergy loss. Notably, the reboiler and distillation column's condenser exhibit significantly reduced exergy losses, 33.77 % and 39.05 % lower, respectively, compared to the base case. This emphasizes the positive impact of the proposed optimization on exergy efficiency.

Lean management accounting, elimination of waste in the company

The purpose of this study is to outline the current problems with the company's documentation workflow process and propose a plan to implement a new automated system to eliminate waste and improve the company's cash flow. Every enterprise is required to accurately record business operations. Accounting is the foundation of an organization, serving not only to meet legal requirements, but also to support management processes. In the case of large enterprises, complex accounting carries the risk of problems with timely and correct accounting, which can lead to delays in payments, reminders, collection procedures and interruptions in deliveries. As a result, it becomes crucial to put processes in place to safeguard liquidity. The study includes an analysis of the company's current documentation workflow process and identification of problems associated with it. A plan is then proposed to implement a new automated system to eliminate waste. The methodology is based on an analysis of the company's internal data and available technological solutions. The main results of the study include the identification of existing problems in the documentation workflow process and a plan for implementing a new system. The findings indicate that improving process efficiency can help increase the company's cash flow. The study introduces a new perspective on records management in enterprises, especially in the context of eliminating waste and improving liquidity. The theoretical value of the work lies in identifying opportunities for effective records management in the context of supporting business processes. The introduction of an automated documentation workflow system can bring practical benefits, such as reducing payment delays, avoiding debt collection procedures and improving the overall efficiency of business operations.

Application of Lean Six Sigma Method in Hospital Management Process: Performance Optimization and Waste Reduction

In the dynamic environment of healthcare, hospital management constantly seeks methods to enhance performance and reduce inefficiencies. This study explores the implementation of the Lean Six Sigma (LSS) methodology in hospital management to optimize performance and minimize waste. Lean Six Sigma, a combination of Lean management and Six Sigma, is renowned for its systematic, data-driven approach in improving process efficiency and quality. We conducted a comprehensive analysis in a tertiary care hospital, employing LSS tools such as DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) framework, value stream mapping, and root cause analysis. The study focused on critical areas such as patient flow, inventory management, and operational processes. Our findings reveal significant improvements in patient wait times, reduction in inventory costs, and enhanced operational efficiency. The application of LSS led to a more patient-centric approach, streamlined processes, and a culture of continuous improvement within the hospital. This research contributes to the growing body of knowledge on LSS in healthcare and provides a practical framework for hospital administrators seeking to implement efficiency-enhancing strategies.
