This research aims to identify the factors influencing the growth of settlements and economic activities inKoya Barat Village, Muara Tami District, and the efforts made in the growth of settlements and economic activitiesin Koya Barat Village, Muara Tami District. The quantitative research method and data collection techniquesinvolve questionnaires and documentation. The data analysis uses simple linear regression. The results of theresearch indicate that the factors influencing the growth of settlements and economic activities in Koya BaratVillage, Muara Tami District, show that the level of settlement growth in Koya Barat Village, Muara Tami District,is categorized as high, with 65 respondents or 65%. This includes several factors such as the type of physicalbuilding, building/occupant type, wall type, roof type, ceiling, floor type, door, sanitation, window, ventilation,and ridge. The economic level of the community with a very high economic level is 33 respondents or 33%, anda high economic level is 31 respondents or 31%, which means that the economic level of the community in KoyaBarat Village, Muara Tami District is high, including education level, occupation/livelihood, and householdincome. The efforts made in the growth of settlements and economic activities in Koya Barat Village, Muara TamiDistrict, indicate a significant influence of settlement growth on the economy in Koya Barat Village, Muara TamiDistrict, which means that if settlement growth increases, economic activities will also experience a significantincrease.

Economic Uncertainty and Monetary Policy Effectiveness: A Comparative Study between High and Low Uncertainty Countries

This study examines the impact of economic uncertainty on monetary policy effectiveness, as measured by inflation, in 21 countries observed during the period stretching from 1997 to 2022. The study uses a Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) model on full, high and low uncertainty countries. Our results indicate that uncertainty has a significant positive impact on inflation. The results also show that central banks have adopted a cautious approach in response to these shocks, and that monetary policy moderates the negative effects of economic uncertainty. Finally, we found similar results for countries with low vs. high economic uncertainty levels. The findings can be worthwhile to sketch proper monetary policy under uncertainty to lessen monetary policy effectiveness. This study suggests that it is important to note that, in times of high economic uncertainty, monetary policy can be effective when a reactive monetary policy acts as an economic stabilizer and inflation controller. Contribution/ Originality: This study is one of the very few studies investigating the relationship between economic uncertainty and monetary policy effectiveness. It does so using the Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) model in high uncertainty versus low uncertainty countries, thus contributing to our understanding of monetary policy effectiveness under uncertainty.Economic uncertainty

Exploring the path of digital governance of urban industrial pollution: empirical evidence from 280 cities in China.

Urban industrial pollution plays a dominant role in environmental pollution in China. Exploring the digital governance path of urban industrial pollution can provide strong support for improving environmental quality. This article empirically investigates the role and path of digitalization in the governance of urban industrial pollution from three dimensions: economic scale, structural scale, and technological scale. The results show that there is an inverted "U"-shaped relationship between digitalization and urban industrial pollution, with initial promotion followed by suppression. Among them, economic scale, industrial transformation and upgrading, and green innovation are the paths for digital governance of urban industrial pollution. In addition, there is a chain path of "green innovation-industrial transformation and upgrading" between the two. Through spatial Durbin model and regional heterogeneity analysis, it is found that digitalization has a spatial spillover effect on urban industrial pollution control, and eastern regions, regions with high economic development level and industrialized cities benefit more from digital urban industrial pollution control. The research conclusions of this article provide references for the Chinese government to formulate relevant policies, deepen the integration of digitalization and urban industrial pollution, and promote digital governance of urban industrial pollution.

Impact of Digital Industrialization on High-quality Economic Development

Against the background of rapid development of global information technology, digital industrialization has become an important path to promote high-quality economic development. Based on the panel data of 30 provinces in China from 2012 to 2020, this paper constructs the digital industrialization index and the index of high-quality economic development, and adopts the two-way fixed effect model to study the impact of digital industrialization on high-quality economic development and sort out the impact mechanism. The results show that digital industrialization not only directly promotes the high-quality development of regional economy, but also further promotes the high-quality development of economy through the indirect effect of industrial upgrading. The improvement of human capital level and the increase of financial investment in research significantly enhance the promotion effect of digital industrialization on high-quality economic development. The heterogeneity results indicate that the enhancement of economic quality development by digital industrialization is only significant in the northern region, the region with higher economic level and higher investment in education.

The spatial spillover effect of financial growth on high-quality development: Evidence from Yellow River Basin in China

River basin cities are areas with remarkable conflicts between the human activity and the ecological environment. They are also important targets for policy implementation of sustainable and high-quality development (HD) in various countries around the world. This article exploits the panel data of 99 cities located in the Yellow River Basin (YRB) from 2006 to 2019 to empirically analyze the spatial effect of financial growth on HD. Spatial weights participated econometric models are utilized to analyze this spatial effect. Empirical results reveal that: (1) the HD in the YRB shows a strong positive spatial autocorrelation. (2) Financial growth exerts an N-shaped curve effect on the HD from a long-term perspective. When this influence spills out to the surroundings, it exhibits an inverted U-shaped characteristic. (3) Green innovation can be an important intermediary factor in the influence of financial growth on HD. (4) The influence of financial growth on HD appears stronger in regions with higher economic levels, where N-shaped effects can be transmitted to the surrounding regions. However, the backward economic development in low-economy regions prevents the spatial spillover of N-shaped effects. This study can be instrumental for countries to formulate financial policies that aim to promote HD in river basin cities.

Trend Changes and the Driving Forces of Environmental Indicators in Countries Worldwide: A Structural Change Analysis of Variations in CO2 Emissions and Eco-Efficiency

Many authors state that climate change is driven by increasing CO2 emissions worldwide. An understanding of the major driving forces affecting emissions over time in both developed and developing countries is important. Thus, in this study, structural break analysis is used to identify when the trends of environmental indicators—CO2 emissions and environmental efficiency (EE)—across countries worldwide change. Our findings revealed notable structural breaks occurring in countries in 1994, coinciding with ballooning fossil energy prices. Regarding CO2, 55 of 143 countries experienced a structural break. Furthermore, another wave of structural breaks emerged in 2014, corresponding to the implementation of CO2 emission reduction plans by certain nations. For CO2, 64 of 143 countries experienced a structural break. Upon detecting breakpoints and their trends, we utilized LMDI factor decomposition analysis to discern their driving factors, thereby elucidating the underlying dynamics. In Latin America and the Caribbean, most breakpoints were undesirable shifts, but recently, desirable shifts have increased in North America, Oceania, and Europe, which include many countries with high economic levels, improving energy-related factors. Sub-Saharan Africa can also be said to have undergone an undesirable shift regarding energy-related factors. This study clarifies the precise influences on the trend of CO2 emissions at the global level by identifying the point in time when there is a significant statistical, rather than a subjective, breakpoint.

An empirical analysis of the coupling and coordinated development of new urbanization and ecological welfare performance in China’s Chengdu–Chongqing economic circle

New urbanization (NU) and ecological welfare performance (EWP) play pivotal roles in achieving sustainable urban development, with both emphasizing social equity and environmental management. Exploring the coordinated relationship between EWP and NU is invaluable for understanding the symbiotic interplay between humans and nature. We constructed a framework to elucidate the coupling mechanism of EWP and NU from the perspective of systems theory. We quantified the levels of NU and EWP utilizing the entropy weighting method and the super-efficient SBM method, respectively. Furthermore, we assessed the degree of coupling coordination between the two using the coupling coordination degree model (CCDM). Spatial and temporal evolution analysis was conducted, and factors influencing the degree of coupling coordination between EWP and NU were explored through a spatial–temporal geographically-weighted regression model (GTWR). The results indicate: (1) During the study period, the average annual increase in EWP in the study area was 2.59%, with a narrowing relative gap between cities. Conversely, the average annual increase in the level of NU was 7.6%, with demographic and economic dimensions carrying the highest weights. (2) The type of coupling coordination between EWP and NU transitions from basic coordination to moderate coordination, with the development of EWP lagging behind that of NU. (3) City size demonstrates a positive yet diminishing trend on the coupling coordination level, with economic development exerting the greatest influence and exhibiting a "V" trend, while the impact of green technology innovation diminishes negatively. Additionally, regional disparities are significant, with city size exhibiting a negative impact in areas of high population density and low economic levels, and green technology innovation showing notable polarization characteristics in core cities. These findings serve as a foundation for fostering coordinated ecological development amid the rapid urbanization process of the Chengdu–Chongqing Economic Circle.

Analysis of spatial patterns and influencing factors of farmland transfer in China based on ESDA-GeoDetector

Farmland transfer is a critical component in facilitating agricultural scale management and improving agricultural production efficiency. This study examines the spatial distribution of farmland transfer in China and identifies the factors influencing it, offering valuable guidance for advancing China’s farmland transfer practices. Through the application of mathematical statistics and GIS spatial analysis, the study investigates changes in spatial patterns related to the scale, rate, mode, and recipients of farmland transfer across China's 30 provinces from 2015 to 2020. Geographical detectors are also employed to identify the key factors influencing the extent and pace of farmland transfer. The study reveals that between 2015 and 2020, China's farmland transfer area increased from 29,789 to 37,638 million hectares. Provinces with abundant farmland resources generally experienced larger farmland transfers, while economically developed regions and major grain-producing areas saw higher rates of farmland transfers. The predominant mode of farmland transfer in China was leasing (subcontracting), accounting for over 80% of the total transferred area. Large-scale grain growers and family farms were significant participants in farmland transfers, acquiring approximately 60.1% of the transferred lands, followed by professional cooperatives (21.5%), enterprises (10.4%), and other entities (7.9%). Key factors influencing the farmland transfer area include the "regional farmland area", the "proportion of family farms supported by loans", and the "proportion of non-agricultural population", with explanatory powers of 0.663, 0.319, and 0.225, respectively. Notably, there is a substantial interaction between the "regional farmland area" and factors such as the "proportion of family farms supported by loans" and the "grain yield per unit area", with explanatory powers reaching 0.957 and 0.901, respectively. These findings offer valuable insights for promoting farmland transfer in agriculturally rich regions. Factors affecting the farmland transfer rate include "grain yield per unit area", "GDP per capita", and the "proportion of non-agricultural population", each with an explanatory power above 0.500. Moreover, their interactive explanatory powers with other indicators exceed 0.600, indicating that provinces with high agricultural productivity or economic development levels are more likely to undergo farmland transfer. The paper concludes by proposing strategies and recommendations to promote farmland transfer in both "large agricultural areas" and "metropolitan suburbs."

Research on the Financial Cooperation and Economic Growth—Evidence from China and ASEAN

China has actively carried out financial cooperation with countries along the route, utilizing the new framework of financial cooperation to inject new momentum into economic growth. This paper measures the development level of China-ASEAN financial cooperation with the help of the China-ASEAN Financial Cooperation Index from 2000 to 2022, and empirically examines the impact of China-ASEAN financial cooperation on the economic growth of ASEAN countries through the fixed effect model. The study shows that China-ASEAN financial cooperation significantly contributes to the economic growth of ASEAN countries by advancing financial development, improving the degree of financial stability, and expanding financial openness. Heterogeneity analysis found that the promoting effect of China-ASEAN financial cooperation on economic growth is more pronounced in countries with high institutional quality and high economic development level.

Diversified evolutionary patterns of surface urban heat island in new expansion areas of 31 Chinese cities

As a hot area of population inflow in the process of urbanization, the urban expansion area faces rapid growth of surface urban heat island (SUHI). However, the multi-dimensional evolutionary characteristics of SUHI in urban expansion areas are still unclear. Through analyzing the evolution of SUHI range ratio, mean intensity and maximum intensity, in this study we identified the comprehensive evolutionary pattern of summer SUHI in urban expansion areas of 31 major cities in China during 2000–2018, and further investigated the corresponding dominant influencing factors. The results showed that the SUHI range and intensity in urban expansion areas exhibited a significant increasing trend in 81% and 71% of the cities respectively during the summer daytime. The cities with declining SUHI range and intensity were distributed in northwestern high-altitude areas with low economic level, while the cities with dominant increases in the SUHI range were distributed in eastern low-altitude areas with high economic level. Climate conditions and population distribution were the dominant influencing factors of intensity-dominated increasing and balanced increasing types, respectively. The intensity and range two-dimensional increasing type had experienced the most severe SUHI growth, with large proportion of secondary industry as the main influencing factor. This study highlighted the importance of multi-dimensional characteristics of SUHI evolution, which provided a new insight to understand SUHI change in urban expansion areas and associated mitigation measures.

Does economic globalization trigger de‐industrialization in Western Balkan countries? Empirical evidence based on augmented mean group estimator

Integration into the global economy can cause shifts in industries and decrease the industrial sector's share. Deindustrialization, which refers to declining industry share, is commonly observed in developed countries. However, many developing countries have also experienced deindustrialization without attaining a high economic level in the era of globalization. Since transitioning to a market economy and integrating with the European Union (EU), deindustrialization has become a significant issue for Western Balkan countries. Thus, our paper analyzes the impact of economic globalization on the deindustrialization process in five Western Balkan countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia by using panel data spanning 2000–2019. Our study involved the creation of two models utilizing the augmented mean group (AMG) estimation method to ensure precise results. Our research shows that in model I, the economic globalization index, economic growth, capital investment, and the rule of law positively impact industry employment share. In model II, trade openness and economic growth positively affect manufacturing value‐added; however, capital investment and the rule of law have a negative impact. Our findings indicate that economic globalization promotes industrialization in the Western Balkans instead of leading to deindustrialization. The panel causality results from Dumitrescu–Hurlin indicate that in model I, there is a one‐way causal relationship going from economic globalization and capital investment to the share of industry employment. In model II, the causal relationship goes from economic growth and the rule of law to manufacturing value‐added, from manufacturing value‐added to trade openness and capital investment.

Research on Digital Economy and High Quality Development of Regional Economy

<p>The experience of developed countries shows that digital economy can promote high -quality economic development. By constructing a comprehensive evaluation index system, this paper measures the digital economy and high quality economic development level of Zhejiang province from 2013 to 2019. First, the coupling model is used to measure the dynamic evolution process of digital economy and high-quality economic development, then the general linear linear regression model is fitted to explore the promotion degree of digital economy to high-quality economic development, and finally, the mediationeffect model is used to analyze the mechanism of digital economy to promote high -quality economic development. The following conclusionsare drawn: In recent years, the development level of digital economy in Zhejiang province continues to improve, and the coupling coordination degree of digital economy and high-quality economic development gradually reaches a good level. Digital economy can promote high-quality economic development. Every 1% increase in the level of digital economy will increase the level of high-quality economic development by 0.4694%. The index of scientific and technological innovation is taken as a mediating variable, and the test model is constructed. The mediating effect is found to be significant, which indicates that digital economy empowers scientific and technological innovation to promote high-quality economic development. Based on this, this paper puts forward some suggestions to provide reference for thehigh quality economic development of Zhejiang Province.</p>

Geographic Distribution Characteristics and Influencing Factors for Industrial Heritage Sites in Italy Based on GIS

A comprehensive understanding of industrial legacy, considering its social, economic, and environmental aspects, is crucial for its preservation. This study scrutinizes 120 industrial heritage sites, investigating spatial–temporal patterns and influential factors. The aim is to provide a scientific basis for the conservation and management of the Italian industrial heritage. (1) The research underscores Italy’s industrial legacy’s tendency for clustering and uneven dispersion, prominently concentrated in the northern regions while notably sparse in the south. (2) Geographical advantages, a history of advanced industrialization, higher economic levels, greater population density, and supportive policies foster a concentration of industrial development and greater diversity of heritage types in the North. (3) The recommendations advocate for tailored conservation and management strategies tailored to the distinct characteristics of Italian industrial history. These strategies advocate for increased public involvement, reinforced legislative protection, and the promotion of tourism and cultural education to sustainably develop heritage assets. The findings and methodologies of this study can effectively identify the causes of the formation of the Italian industrial heritage, thereby offering a broader perspective to bolster its preservation and administration. It also provides a valuable reference for global industrial heritage preservation and management strategies.

Spatial and temporal analysis of influential factors on motor vehicle carbon monoxide emissions in China considering emissions trading scheme.

The number of cars is increasing every year and the environmental aspects of transport are becoming a hot topic. The spatial and temporal patterns of motor vehicle carbon monoxide (CO) emissions are still unclear due to the unbalanced economic development and heterogeneous geographic conditions of China. With the objective of realizing a reduction in motor vehicle CO emissions, his study explores the transport carbon emission reduction pathways of China from motor vehicle CO emission. Firstly, the entropy method is adopted to comprehensively evaluate the CO emissions from motor vehicles in each province; secondly, the development of a Geographically and Temporally Weighted Regression (GTWR) model facilitates the examination of the spatiotemporal dynamics pertaining to the influencing factors of motor vehicle CO emissions within each province.; finally, the characteristics of motor vehicle CO emissions in ETS pilot areas and non-ETS pilot areas are compared. The results show that: (1) After the completion of the six ETS pilot areas in 2011, the CO emission from motor vehicles is reduced by 18% compared with 2010.(2)The entropy method shows that the largest CO emissions from motor vehicles are from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong and other provinces with high economic levels.(3) The results of the GTWR model show that the positive effects of economic level, population size, road mileage intensity and motor vehicle intensity on motor vehicle CO emissions are decreasing year by year. The negative effect of metro line intensity on CO emission decreases year by year. This study can help decision makers to identify the high emission areas, understand the influencing factors, and formulate emission reduction measures to achieve the purpose of carbon emission reduction in transport.

The spatial mobility network and influencing factors of the higher education population in China

Abstract The scale and frequency of talent mobility in the world have increased sharply, and the competition for talent has intensified in various regions. This paper mainly studies the spatial mobility characteristics and influencing factors of China’s highly educated talents. It found that China’s higher education population mobility network has prominent uneven characteristics, the central and eastern regions of China, especially the eastern coastal regions, are the hotspots of the network. The higher education population flows frequently in large cities and regional central areas. The hierarchical structure follows a “north-south division,” which is dominated by Beijing and Shanghai, respectively. Geographical distance has a specific hindering effect in this context. Furthermore, the similarity of culture, institutions, customs, and dialect facilitates the mobility of the higher education population. Cities with high economic levels, centralized educational resources, sound infrastructure, and aesthetically appealing environments are also likely to attract more talents.

Evaluation Index System of High Quality Economic Development Level in Ethnic Regions-Comparative Analysis of Six Adjacent Cities in Yun-nan, Sichuan, and Guizhou Provinces

Building a high-quality economic development evaluation system in ethnic areas can well solve the problems of unbalanced and inadequate high-quality economic development in regions; Method: By analyzing the government data of six adjacent cities in Yunnan, Sichuan, and Guizhou provinces, five primary indicators and 27 secondary indicators covering economic vitality, innovation efficiency, green development, people’s living and social harmony were constructed. By combining obstacle degree, coupling degree, and coupling coordination degree models, the high-quality development situation was empirically measured; As a result, Chuan D is weaker than the other five cities and states in four aspects: economic vitality, innovation efficiency, green development, and people’s livelihood, ranking first; The conclusion is to use it to evaluate and analyze the results of high-quality economic development in the six adjacent cities of Yunnan, Sichuan, and Guizhou provinces, and to revise the basic indicators of the system in order to better guide and guide the practice of high-quality economic development in ethnic areas.

Depression, anxiety, stress and other mental health conditions of personnel undergoing hospital isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic and influencing factors.

To understand the depression, anxiety, stress and other mental health conditions of personnel undergoing hospital isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic and the influencing factors. This was retrospective study. A total of 120 personnel undergoing Baoding No.1 Hospital isolation who completed the questionnaires were included from June 10, 2021 to February 07, 2022. The Patient Health Questionnaire-9(PHQ-9), the Generalized Anxiety Scale (GAD7) and psychological stress measurement table (PSTR) were used for psychological problem screening for personnel undergoing hospital isolation. The incidence of depression was the lowest, while that of stress was the highest. The difference in the incidence of depression, anxiety and stress among personnel undergoing hospital isolation with different gender, age, income statuses, marital statuses and attitude towards isolation was statistically significant (p< 0.05), while the difference in the incidence of these problems among personnel with different degree of education was not statistically significant(p> 0.05). Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that age, gender, marital status, economic status and attitude towards isolation are factors associated with stress. Economic status and attitude towards isolation are factors associated with depression. A high economic level is a protective factor against depression, while a negative attitude is a risk factor for depression. During the COVID-19 pandemic, anxiety, depression and stress increased to different extents in personnel undergoing hospital isolation, especially in females with poor economic conditions and poor attitudes towards isolation. Therefore, necessary psychological counseling and social support should be provided to these people.

Study of Minimum Service Standard Index in Public Transportation: Sample of Trans Pakuan Bogor

Public transportation in Bogor City is one of the issues that is still a concern and needs to be studied. Urban transportation management involves many strategic aspects and issues, such as reducing gas emissions, multimodal integration, and increasing public awareness and convenience to change the habits for using mass transportation. Buy the service program from BPTJ Ministry of Transportation through Trans Pakuan has been operating since November 2021 and during the operational period studies are still needed to achieve and improve service standards. This study uses field survey methods and quantitative analysis of the 8 dimensions of minimum service standards for mass transportation. The result shows that the Public Perception Service Index (Trans-Pakuan) shows "good" conditions in each corridor. However, the Trans Pakuan operation is considered ineffective because the loading factor is dominated by students, not workers. There are still 61.6% distance from bus stops above 1 kilometer with travel time to the bus stop taking more than 10 minutes by 56.9%. Trans-Pakuan BTS users are expected to be shifted to communities with a higher economic level by conducting in-depth studies to find out the expectations of public transport standards desired by middle income to higher income.

Findings from the Indonesian family life survey on patterns and factors associated with multimorbidity

The prevalence of multimorbidity tends to increase with age, but it is now also reported in the middle-aged population, which has a negative impact on healthcare systems and health outcomes. This study aims to analyze the patterns and factors associated with multimorbidity in Indonesia. This national cross-sectional population-based survey used publicly available data from the Indonesian Family Life Survey (IFLS-5) for 2014 among middle-aged (40–59 years old) and elderly (≥ 60 years old) respondents. Information on all chronic diseases was assessed using a self-reported questionnaire. Sociodemographic and health-related behavioral factors were obtained from self-reported data. Binary logistic regression analysis was used to identify the factors associated with multimorbidity. Adjusted odds ratios (AORs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were reported. The study recruited 11,867 respondents. The prevalence of multimorbidity was 18.6% (95% CI 17.9–19.3) with which 15.6% among middle age (95% CI 14.95–16.25) and 24.9% among the elderly (95% CI 24.12–25.68). Hypertension was the most commonly reported disease (23.2%) in all combinations of multimorbidity and among all age groups. Socio-demographic factors: elderly (AOR: 1.66; 95% CI 1.46–1.89), female (AOR: 1.42; 95% CI 1.20–1.69), living in the urban area (AOR: 1.22; 95% CI 1.09–1.38), higher educational level (AOR: 2.49; 95% CI 1.91–3.26), unemployed (AOR: 1.63; 95% CI 1.44–1.84), and higher economic level (AOR: 1.41; 95% CI 1.18–1.68) were associated with multimorbidity. Poor health behavior factors: being former smokers (AOR: 2.03; 95% CI 1.65–2.51) and obesity (AOR: 1.53; 95% CI 1.35–1.75) were also associated with multimorbidity. The prevalence of multimorbidity in the middle-aged and elderly population in Indonesia is relatively high, particularly in populations with poor health behaviors. Therefore, healthcare professionals should integrate more patient-specific factors when designing and implementing tailored interventions to manage multimorbidity in Indonesia.
