The Effect of Using Virtual Laboratories Using the Guided Discovery Learning Model on Students' Conceptual Understanding of Static Electricity Material

This study aims to test or examine the effect of the use of virtual laboratories using the Guided Discovery Learning model on students' conceptual understanding abilities in static electricity material. This type of research is a quasi-experimental study with a nonequivalent control group research design. The population in this study were all students of class XII of SMAN 1 Monta. The sampling technique used in this study was purposive sampling with class XII MIPA 2 consisting of 28 students as the experimental class and class XII MIPA 1 consisting of 28 students as the control class. Before and after the treatment, both classes were given a conceptual understanding ability test in the form of essay questions that had previously been tested for their feasibility with validity, reliability, difficulty level of questions, and discriminatory power. The results of the initial test (Pretest) and final test (Posttest) of conceptual understanding ability were analyzed for homogeneity and normality to conduct a hypothesis test. The analysis of the hypothesis test using the t-test obtained a t_count of 3.49 and a t_table of 2.00. Thus, the calculated t_value is greater than the t_table, so H_0 is rejected and H_a is accepted, so it can be concluded that there is an influence of the use of virtual laboratories using the Guided Discovery Learning model on students' conceptual understanding abilities in static electricity material.

Critical Thinking Skills of Students Through Guided Discovery Learning Model Assisted by PhET Media on Stationary and Walking Wave

The research aims to describe students' thinking skills in the guided discovery learning model assisted by PhET media. The design used is a quasi- experimental: Posttest only control group design. The population in this study were all students of class XI SMA Negeri 2 Koto Kampar Hulu Academic Year 2021/2022 with a sample of 52 students consisting of class XI MIPA 1 as an experimental class totaling 28 students and class XI MIPA 2 as a control class. totaling 24 students. The data collection instrument was a test of critical thinking skills on stationary and running wave material consisting of 10 multiple choice questions. The data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis through the average value of students critical thinking skills and inferential analysis through the normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis testing with the help of the SPSS 25 program. The results showed that learning became more effective as seen from the average score - the average thinking skills of students in the experimental class were better than the control class and there were significant differences in students' critical thinking skills between the experimental class that applied the PhET media-assisted guided discovery learning model and the control class.

Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Siswa SMP Negeri 2 Gunungsari Melalui Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Guided Discovery Learning

Education is an effort made to achieve a certain goal. Through these efforts, it is hoped that students can increase their knowledge and explore the potential they have, so that it can be useful for themselves and others. The aim of this research is to determine student learning outcomes through the application of the guided discovery learning model. The type of research used is qualitative descriptive research. This research design is a one shot case study. The population in this study were class VII students of SMP Negeri 2 Gunungsari. The sample used in this research was class VIIA and VII B of SMP Negeri 2 Gunungsari. The instrument used in this research is a learning outcomes test sheet. In this research, the type of test used was a multiple choice form with 4 answer choices. One correct answer and three wrong answers, the score for each question is one if correct and zero if incorrect. The data analysis techniques used are individual and classical completeness and indicator completeness. Based on the research data, it can be stated that of the 10 indicators tested in the pretest, all indicators had an average percentage of completeness of 13.4%, while in the posttest all indicators had an average percentage of completeness of 64.5%. Thus it can be concluded that the application of the Guided Discovery Learning (GDL) model can improve student learning outcomes. This is because this learning can invite students to play an active role, students are able to interact, collaborate with their group friends, and involve the students' initial abilities.

The Development of Chemistry Electronic Module Based on Guided Discovery Learning on Teaching Chemical Bonding

The COVID-19 pandemic had many impacts on education. The teaching and learning process was done through distance learning and was carried out online through several online platforms and media. This study aimed to produce an independent learning media for students in the form of an online module based on the Guided Discovery Learning model in the class on chemical bonding of class X in senior high school. This study used the methods outlined in Research and Development by Borg and Gall (2003) and followed the descriptive quantitative method. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire. The module was validated by three experts for content and language and also validated by three experts for media and graphics. The module was also trialled by 20 students in grade 10 science, 35 college students in the chemistry education program and 8 chemistry teachers. The ratings that were given by experts, students, and teachers from the validation and trial stages can be categorized as good and up to very good, so it can be concluded that the module is feasible to be used as a learning media on in the class on chemical bonding of class 10 in senior high school.

The influence of the guided discovery learning model on critical thinking ability and problem-solving ability

This study aims to determine the effect of the GDL model on critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills, the extent of the influence of the model on each aspect of critical thinking skills and aspects of problem-solving skills and look for the effectiveness of the model on critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills. The population in this study were all students of class X Mathematics and Natural Sciences. The sampling technique was purposive sampling. Research instrument with description test. The results showed that there was an influence of the model on critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills, the influence of the model on aspects of critical thinking skills from high to low are advanced clarification, inference, elementary clarification, strategies and tactics, basic support and aspects of problem-solving skills from high to low are define the problem, planning solutions, implement solutions, evaluate and check problems. The GDL model is effective for improving critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills.

Kemampuan Pemahaman Konsep Siswa dengan Pembelajaran Guided Discovery Learning

The aim of this research is to describe students' ability to understand concepts using the guided discovery learning model in learning statistics material. The method used in this research is quasi-experimental with a one-shot case study design. The data collection technique used consisted of a test of the ability to understand mathematical concepts in the form of a description of 7 test questions and interviews. The ability to understand concepts can be seen from the analysis of students' answers to test questions given to 28 students whose research subjects were class VIII students at SMP Negeri 46 Palembang. From the results of this test, interviews were then conducted with 4 students who received ability scores in three categories of low, medium and high. The results of this research show that more than 20 students have met the indicators of ability to understand concepts with an average answer of 80% -93% with an average score of "83.88", a very good assessment criterion.

The influence of the guided discovery learning model on critical thinking abilities and scientific attitudes

This research aims to examine improving students' critical thinking skills and scientific attitudes using the Guided Discovery Learning learning model. Critical thinking and scientific attitudes are important aspects to develop in learning, especially in science learning in elementary schools. Critical thinking is part of the cognitive work process and a scientific attitude develops affective aspects. A quasi-experimental study using a pretest-posttest control group design is the research methodology. Students in the fifth grade at SDN Bukit Duri 05 in South Jakarta served as the research subjects. The control group received therapy using the Free Discovery Learning learning model, whereas the experimental group received treatment using the Guided Discovery Learning learning model. According to the study's findings, there was no difference between the experimental class's and the control group's early critical thinking skills. The results showed that there was no difference between the experimental class and the control class in terms of early scientific attitude abilities. Additionally, compared to students in the control class, those in the experimental class showed a different growth in critical thinking abilities. Lastly, it was discovered that the experimental class and the control class had different rising scientific views.

Development of A Guided Discovery Learning Model Based on E-Learning in Thematic Learning

The research objectives include several things. The aim is to develop and analyze the effectiveness of an e-learning based guided discovery learning model in thematic learning for class V elementary school. The way to answer the research objectives is to use the ADDIE Research and Development (R&D) model. The school sample for testing the effectiveness of the model developed was selected based on probability sampling. After the sample was determined, the research results showed that the validity of the learning model was very good and could be used, while the results of the effectiveness of the model implementation could be understood through the posttest results and the results of filling out the questionnaire. Based on these results, it can be concluded that classes that use the guided discovery learning model have higher learning outcomes on average. The average learning outcome of students who studied with the e-learning based guided discovery learning model in the test class was 91.47 with a completion rate of 100%, while the control class which used the guided discovery learning model showed an average learning outcome of 88.33.

Strengthening the Value of Tolerance in Schools through Mathematics Subjects Based on the Independent Curriculum

<em>Mathematics learning has a very important role in human life which plays a role in structuring the reasoning and attitudes of students. This goal is supported by the implementation of the Merdeka curriculum which requires students to have a Pancasila profile character. Mathematics learning generally focuses on mastering students' cognitive competencies. The focus on instilling students' character values in certain subjects shows that teachers' awareness of the importance of character cultivation in mathematics learning is still lacking. There are still students who have not been able to accept different opinions in learning mathematics, both in the learning process and in the final results in learning mathematics. This means that students have not lived the value of tolerance contained in learning mathematics. The implementation of the Merdeka curriculum can be used as an effort to implement the value of tolerance in mathematics learning. This study aims to explore the value of tolerance of students in learning mathematics in the Merdeka curriculum through sources in the form of books and related articles. This research uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method. Implementation of the value of tolerance in the Merdeka curriculum, needs to be guided by the Pancasila learner profile as an indicator of tolerance. To strengthen the value of tolerance in mathematics learning based on the Merdeka curriculum, it can be implemented by using group learning with a guided discovery learning model which can have an impact on improving tolerance and learning outcomes</em>

Guided Discovery Learning to Improve Students' Mathematics Representation and Collaboration at Senior High School 6 Yogyakarta

Classroom Action Research aimed to assess the mathematical representation ability and collaboration in understanding circle material by implementing the guided discovery learning model. The data collection took place in April 2023 at SHS 6 Yogyakarta, involving 35 students from XI science. The research comprised two cycles, with a diagnostic test conducted in the first cycle focusing on the equation of a circle, particularly the position of points and lines related to the circle. In the second cycle, the diagnostic test concentrated on tangents to the circle. Data were gathered through tests, interviews, and questionnaires. The findings indicated that guided discovery learning effectively enhances both mathematical representation ability and collaboration. The average scores for the pre-cycle test were 78.87, for cycle I were 79.17, and for cycle II were 85. Moreover, the percentage of students achieving a score of 75 or higher increased from 60% in the pre-cycle to 71% in cycle I and further rose to 77% in cycle II. Regarding collaboration skills, in cycle I, 23 students were categorized as having medium-level skills, and 12 were classified as having high-level skills. In cycle II, the distribution changed with 16 students falling into the very high category, 12 in the high category, and seven in the medium category.

Implementation of the Guided Discovery Learning Model Using Web-Based Learning Media to Improve Vocational School Students' Cognition

Database subjects are considered difficult to understand because they are abstract and require students to learn, master, and understand the concepts of the subjects being taught. This study aims to understand how the application of the guided discovery learning model using web-based learning media can improve the cognitive abilities of vocational students. The research method used is the Smart Learning Environment Establishment Guideline (SLEEG) and the pre-experimental research design type is one group pretest-posttest. The research subjects used were students of class XI RPL 1 at SMK Bina Wisata Lembang. The results obtained from this study through the calculation of the gain test resulted in an average gain of 0.50 and included the 'medium' effectiveness criteria. Students respond to learning media with a percentage value of 85% where this number is included in the 'very good' category. So, the end of this study concluded that web-based learning media with the Guided Discovery Learning model can improve the cognitive skills of vocational students in database subjects.

PENGARUH PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN PENEMUAN TERBIMBING DAN PAIR CHECKS TERHADAP HASIL BELAJAR SISWA PADA MATERI BANGUN RUANG SISI DATAR

This study is motivated by the low mathematics learning outcomes, one of the reasons being that students have a poor grasp of the material on flat-sided geometric shapes due to inappropriate teaching methods. Teachers tend to emphasize concepts based on memorization and have not yet implemented suitable learning models. The purpose of the research is to determine whether there is a difference in the learning outcomes of flat-sided spatial shapes material among eighth-grade students at SMP N 1 Suruh with the application of the guided discovery learning model (PT) and pair check. (PC). The research uses a quantitative approach with a type of Quasi-Experimental research and a Posttest-Only Control Group Design. The sampling technique employs Nonprobability Sampling with Purposive Sampling, involving class VIII A and D with a total of 83 students applying the PC learning model, and class VIII B and F with a total of 85 students also applying the PC learning model. Data collection techniques include tests and documentation. The data analysis technique in this study uses the T-test. The research results indicate that there is a difference in learning outcomes for flat-sided spatial shapes with the application of the PT and PC learning models. The average learning outcomes using the PT learning model are better than those using the PC learning model.

Educational Media Development using Guided Discovery Learning Approach in Chemical Element Subject

A chemical element is one of the materials in high school for chemistry subject. Students have difficulties in studying chemical elements due to ample theories that must be memorized. In addition, conventional learning models that tend to be one-way create boredom feeling towards students. The use of interactive educational media can be a solution to the learning process. This study tries to provide a solution by developing mobile-based educational media combined with guided discovery learning models to help the learning process of chemical elements in high school. The use of appropriate educational media can be used as an independent learning tool. This study uses Research & Development (R&D) combined with SAM Model to develop this educational media. Testing is using an expert validation approach for the prototype of educational media. This study adapted the Computer System Usability Questionnaire (CSUQ) to assess an aspect of the usability of educational media. To assess the content of the material in this educational media, this study uses an evaluation questionnaire from the subject matter and media experts. The development process is carried out in three iterations, namely the preparation stage, iterative stage, and iterative development stage. The results of this study show that the assessment of chemical elements in educational media has a score of 86.8% on its system usability according to media experts and a score of 90.5% on educational media content according to material experts. So, this educational media is feasible to be applied to high school students. Overall, this educational media got a good score on the pretest-posttest, where the effectiveness of using this educational media increased student learning outcomes with an N-Gain value of 80.62%.

Exploration of Increasing Students’ Critical Thinking in the Guided Discovery Learning Model on Light Waves

This study explored increasing students' critical thinking in the guided discovery learning model on light waves at one of the high schools in South Tangerang City. The research design employed a quasi-experimental nonequivalent control group design with students from class XI IPA 3 as the experimental group and class XI IPA 5 as the control group. Data was collected using a pretest and posttest instrument comprising ten essay questions and was analyzed using the n-gain method. The N-gain analysis indicated a significant improvement in critical thinking skills, with a score of 0,60 for the experimental group and 0,25 for the control group. This study concludes that using the guided discovery learning model effectively enhances students' critical thinking skills in light waves at one of the high schools in South Tangerang City. The implications of this study indicate that implementing the guided discovery learning model in teaching light wave material is highly relevant for enhancing students' critical thinking abilities. This approach enables students to actively engage, analyze information, and solve problems, thereby fostering the development of their critical thinking skills. By acquiring critical thinking skills through guided discovery learning, students become better prepared to tackle complex challenges and support integrating critical thinking development into diverse subjects within the curriculum.

Penerapan Guided Discovery Learning untuk Meningkatkan Hasil Belejar Siswa Materi Perpindahan Kalor

This research aims to determine the improvement of student learning outcomes after participating in learning by using the guided discovery learning model on heat transfer material. The method used in the research is Classroom Action Research through two cycles, namely the first cycle of two meetings and the second cycle of one meeting. The subjects of this research were students of class XI MIA 1 SMA Negeri 1 Tabukan Utara totaling 20 students. The instruments used in this research are tests carried out at the end of each meeting and observation sheets. Of the 20 students with cognitive, affective, and psychomotor assessment results at the first meeting the percentage of completeness was 60% and increased at the second meeting to 80% while at the third meeting 95%.. This shows an improvement in student learning outcomes at the end of each lesson in cycles I and II. The results of this research show that learning by using guided discovery learning models can improve student learning outcomes on heat transfer material. Thus the application of guided discovery learning model can improve student learning outcomes on heat transfer material for students of class XI MIA 1 SMA Negeri 1 Tabukan Utara.

The Effectiveness of The Virtual Lab-Assisted Guided Discovery Learning Model on Students’ Science Process Skills

This study aims to determine students’ science process skills after using the guided discovery model assisted by the virtual PhET lab on vibration and wave materials and the effectiveness of applying the guided discovery learning model assisted by the virtual PhET lab. This research was conducted at a junior high school, SMPN 2 Siak. The research method used is quasi-experimental with a posttest-only control group design. The sample of this study is the experimental class and the control class. Each class has 33 students. The research data was obtained by using a science process skill test instrument. The results showed that the average process skills of the experimental class = 76.76 and the control class = 57.23. The results of the t-test using SPSS software were obtained with (sig) 0.000 < 0.05 . It was concluded that the guided discovery learning model assisted by the virtual lab PhET was more effectively used to improve students’ process skills.

The Effectiveness of the Guided Discovery Learning Model and Project-Based Learning in the Digital Beauty Design Course

This study aims to look at the effectiveness of the Guided Discovery Learning (GDL) learning model and the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model in terms of learning achievement, self-confidence, and students' critical thinking skills in the Digital Beauty Design course. This type of research is Quasi experiment. The subjects of this study were two classes of students from the Department of Cosmetology and Beauty Education, Padang State University who were randomly selected. Data analysis to test the effectiveness of the GDL model and PjBL model in terms of each dependent variable using the t test. While the data analysis technique to test the difference between the effectiveness of the GDL model and the PjBL model uses the MANOVA test. The results showed that, in terms of learning achievement, self-confidence, and students' critical thinking skills, it is known that the application of the GDL model in the Digital Beauty Design course is effective, the application of the PjBL Model in the Digital Beauty Design course is effective, and there is no difference in the effectiveness of the GDL model and the PjBL model. in the Digital Beauty Design course.
