Cloud-Based Smart Contract Analysis in FinTech Using IoT-Integrated Federated Learning in Intrusion Detection

Data sharing is proposed because the issue of data islands hinders advancement of artificial intelligence technology in the 5G era. Sharing high-quality data has a direct impact on how well machine-learning models work, but there will always be misuse and leakage of data. The field of financial technology, or FinTech, has received a lot of attention and is growing quickly. This field has seen the introduction of new terms as a result of its ongoing expansion. One example of such terminology is “FinTech”. This term is used to describe a variety of procedures utilized frequently in the financial technology industry. This study aims to create a cloud-based intrusion detection system based on IoT federated learning architecture as well as smart contract analysis. This study proposes a novel method for detecting intrusions using a cyber-threat federated graphical authentication system and cloud-based smart contracts in FinTech data. Users are required to create a route on a world map as their credentials under this scheme. We had 120 people participate in the evaluation, 60 of whom had a background in finance or FinTech. The simulation was then carried out in Python using a variety of FinTech cyber-attack datasets for accuracy, precision, recall, F-measure, AUC (Area under the ROC Curve), trust value, scalability, and integrity. The proposed technique attained accuracy of 95%, precision of 85%, RMSE of 59%, recall of 68%, F-measure of 83%, AUC of 79%, trust value of 65%, scalability of 91%, and integrity of 83%.

Child-Friendly Authentication (CFA)

A child-friendly authentication system that uses graphic images is an excellent solution to avoid potential electronic risks to children from attackers. This report provides a summary of building a child-friendly authentication system by replacing the traditional text-based authentication method with an image-based authentication method. Where some studies and authors’ research have presented the benefits of using images as passwords and that it is considered the best compared to the text password, on the grounds that the human mind has more ability to remember images faster than text. In addition, this report included some of the applications and examples of using this technology in advance for adults. This report covered many critical points related to building a graphical authentication system for children. The results of previous research have added valuable information to this report. Finally, this report contains the challenges we may encounter while applying this technique, and how to avoid them.

Text-based passwords are widely used for the authentication of digital assets. Typically, password security and usability is a trade-off, i.e. easy-to-remember passwords have higher usability that makes them vulnerable to brute-force and dictionary attacks. Complex passwords have stronger security but poor usability. In order to strengthen the security in conjunction with the improved usability, we hereby propose a novel graphical authentication system. This system is a picture-based password scheme which comprises of the method of image splicing. Authentication data were collected from 33 different users. The usability of the method was evaluated via a comparison between the number of correct and incorrect authentication attempts and time taken. Additionally, a comparison was made between our proposed method and a complex text-based password authentication method using the authentication success rate. Authentication using image splicing proved to be resilient to brute-force attacks since the processing of images consumes a voluminous password space. The evaluation of the usability revealed that graphical passwords were easy-to-remember, resulting in a higher number of correct attempts. The proposed method produced 50% higher success rate compared to the text-based method. Findings motivate the use of the proposed method for securing digital assets.

Graphical User Authentication System Resistant to Shoulder Surfing Attack

User authentication is one of the most significant issues in the field of Information Security. The most common and convenient authentication method used is the alphanumeric password which has significant drawbacks. To overcome the vulnerabilities of traditional methods, graphical password schemes have been developed as possible alternative solutions to text-based scheme. A potential drawback of graphical password schemes is that they are more vulnerable to shoulder surfing than conventional alphanumeric text passwords due to their visual interface. To overcome the shortcoming of existing graphical password schemes this project focuses on developing a graphical authentication system that is resistant to shoulder surfing attack.

Study and Development of Graphical Authentication System for Secure File Transmission

The text-based password has been the most common practice from ancient days till present. Text based pass-words are also known for various threats, and it is prone to attacks like guessing attacks, dictionary attacks, social engineering attacks, brute force attacks, etc. The next immediate concept following the text based password is the graphical password schemes to improve password security and usability. Based on the existing methods, the future research can be done in order to improve security for graphical authentication.

A Graphical Authentication System Controlled by Eye Movement

Graphical password is a potential alternative to the traditional alphanumerical password due to its advantages of recognition and memory in the security system. Eye movement, a natural interaction modality, is a promising tool to replace the keyboard and the mouse in authentication. This paper proposes a graphical authentication system controlled by eye movement. In this keyboard-less authentication system, the user’s eye movements were recorded by eye-tracker as the control signal to generate recognition-based graphical passwords. The user test study has been conducted to verify the availability and effectiveness of this keyboard-less graphical authentication system. It’s also shown that the efficiency could be improved as the user getting familiar with this system.

Image Transformation Based Hybrid Graphical Password Authentication System

Authentication establishes identity and it is a process of proving the correctness of association between credentials and the owner. Now a day, the majority of applications requires authentication. Text based passwords are commonly used for authentication. However, providing security through text based passwords is somewhat undesirable. Graphical password authentication (GPA) is an alternative way of replacing text passwords to enhance security. GPA is motivated by the fact that images are more memorable than the text password. This paper proposes a new hybrid graphical authentication model focussing on image click based and text password selection by using the concept of image transformations. For each image, three types of transformations such as normal image, mirror image and shift image are considered in the proposed model. Even for the password also these three types of transformations are applied based on the image transformation which is displayed at the time of login session. The aim of developing the proposed model is to provide both security and usability by combining the principle of image transformation and change of password based on the transformed image. The radical change of password for each transformed image strengthens the security of the proposed hybrid graphical authentication system and also it provides resistance to shoulder surfing attack, guessing attacks, etc.

BlindLogin: A Graphical Authentication System with Support for Blind and Visually Impaired users on Smartphones

Most graphical password systems on smart phones do not consider the needs of blind and visually impaired users. The main objective of this paper is to propose a new graphical authentication system which combines the usability of the graphical password with the security of the textual password and allows all types of users, including the blind and visually impaired users to use the same authentication system on a smartphone without any extra costs for special hardware. 84.6% of those surveyed would recommend BlindLogin to their friends. 46.2% of the respondents also found the BlindLogin password to be easier to remember than the regular textual password. BlindLogin is a viable alternative as a universal graphical password authentication system.

Multilevel and Biometric-Graphical Secure Authentication System Using Pattern Matching and Gene Based Data

The multilevel and biometric-graphical secure authentication system algorithm described here uses more than one level of authentication system such as face detection, DNA finger printing, image pattern matching and alphanumeric password with image pattern. This algorithm based on entities that are actually bound with the individual at a much secure level than. As a result, they are more reliable since biometric information cannot be lost, forgotten, or guessed easily. Biometrics system is being used in the identification of individuals based on some physical attribute. The physical attributes may be the finger print, face detection, retina scanning and voice detection. This system is widely used in authentication system. The traditional system of alphanumeric password and PIN no protection system in magnetic flip can be damaged and can be read by decoding the flip and can be forgotten and disclosed any time. The biometric technology provides a strong user-friendly authentication solution. The combination of biometric and other protocols can provide a sophisticated highly secure system. Why That Picture? Discovering Password Properties in Recognition-Based Graphical Authentication

ABSTRACTNumerous graphical authentication ideas have been proposed on how to address the security and usability of text-based passwords. However, it remains unclear how users approach graphical password selection and the inherent personal bias when selecting images. This study investigates user choices in password selection for recognition-based graphical authentication. Our analysis is based on a total of 302 participants continuously using a graphical authentication system during a 6-week long study. The results show pronounced preference effects for image properties such as color, shape, and category. Additionally, there is a significant difference between genders in the selected images based on the same properties.

Many portable devices need a simple authentication system to protect them from being used by an unauthenticated person such as a thief. Password authentication has become a widely recognized element of computer security practices where human users are proven or confirmed as legitimate users for access to secure systems. Using this system, every user needs to recall its password correctly before access can be granted to an intended services or applications. Remembering the secure passwords is an everyday problem for users because of individual memory limitation. In an effort to solve this problem, graphical password was presented as one promising athentication alternative taking advantage of picture superiority over texts. The main objective of this study is to provide a comprehensive survey of array of graphical password schemes in different categories based on their common features with the primary aim of identifying the memorability features and propose a new graphical authentication system with enhanced memorability features.

Investigating the Viability of Multifactor Graphical Passwords for User Authentication

ABSTRACT Authentication using images (i.e., graphical passwords) is claimed to be one of the alternatives for overcoming weaknesses in the traditional username and password authentication. This paper reports on the study to explore the feasibility of combining two graphical password methods for better security. A graphical password prototype scheme, the Enhanced Graphical Authentication System (EGAS), was developed (which combines the methods of clicking on the image (i.e., click-based) and selecting a series of images (i.e., choice-based). The EGAS was tested by 30 participants randomly chosen from the authors’ university and two evaluations were made; namely user performance of the combined method and the feasibility of authentication strategies toward the introduced method itself. From both evaluations, it is found that positive results have been obtained, which suggest that these methods could be combined together effectively without giving impediment to users.

A Secure Authentication Using Graphical Password Authentication System: GPAS

Now a days majority of computer systems, passwords are the method of choice for authenticating users. A process by which a system verifies the identity of a user is known as ‘Authentication’. Authentication may also be generalized by saying that “to authenticate” means “to authorize”. Authentication is the first line of defense against compromising confidentiality and integrity. The most widely and commonly used authentication is traditional “Username” and “Password”. For such authentication generally text (alphanumeric) is used. It is well-known, however, that passwords are susceptible to attack: users tend to choose passwords that are easy to remember, and often this means that they are also easy for an attacker to obtain by searching for candidate passwords . Token and biometric based authentication systems were introduced as an alternative for that schemes. However, these schemes are very costy . Thus, Graphical scheme was introduced as a variation to the login/password scheme. In this paper we explore an approach to user authentication that generalizes the notion of a textual password and that, in many cases, improves the security of user authentication over that provided by textual passwords. In this proposed system we have used a new technique for authentication. It is a variation to the login/password scheme using graphical password used in an graphical manner. We have introduced a framework of our proposed Graphical Password Authentication System (GPAS), which is immune to the common attacks suffered by other authentication schemes. We try to answer most important question “Are graphical passwords as secure and easy to use as text-based passwords”? Nowadays with the use of mobile phones, users can access any information including banking and corporate database. In this proposed work, we specifically target the mobile banking domain and propose a new and intelligent authentication scheme. However, our proposal can also be used in other domains where confidentiality and integrity are the major security requirements. Keywords: Authentication, security, Graphical password, mobile banking.
