It is one of the delights of book reviewing that just when one considers that a topic has been overdiscussed, overwritten, and underthought, along comes a book that is freshly original in language, approach, and interest. Our civilization with its worship of breasts (usually artificially reshaped, supported, renamed, and always without reference to their biologic function) and hips, erotic literature and pictures and suggestions, has always been very decorous in its theoretical approach to the mating habits of male and female. This preamble strives to give some idea of the fun that is involved in reading this book, its refreshingly frank approach and presentation of the choices that young maidens can make at successive levels of sexual involvement, the peculiar differences in our state laws (why should it cost ten dollars to break a sexual law in Maryland and five hundred in Texas?
