The article explores the role of musical art as a powerful tool for shaping the civic identity of student youth in the context of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The attitude towards musical works as a significant source for understanding the socio-political worldview of student youth is analyzed. A musical work is shown as an emotional means of civic commentary and expression of patriotic sentiments, which contributes to the processes of affirming civic consciousness and creating conditions for socio-political change. It is also an element of cultural diplomacy, as, firstly, it contributes to strengthening ties between Ukraine and other states, and secondly, it helps to present civic ideals and values. A trend of synchronization of cultural and civic identity has been identified. The relationship with national identity is also traced. The author analyzes the transformation of musical preferences among young people, particularly the shift toward Ukrainian-language content, which reflects growing patriotic sentiments and support for national culture. It is about the growth of civic identity. Based on an online survey of higher education students, it was found that music has become not only a source of emotional support but also an instrument of social cohesion and expression of active civic engagement. The creative work of contemporary performers is examined as a means of cultural diplomacy and a way to preserve the memory of fallen heroes. New Ukrainian music evokes strong positive feelings in young people, in particular, love for Ukraine, national unity, and faith in victory. The article emphasizes the significance of music as a medium of cultural diplomacy, resistance, and self-identification, contributing to the mobilization of society and the affirmation of Ukrainian values during wartime. It has been established that a significant part of student youth consciously refuses Russian-language content, although for some this is a gradual process, and the decision to refuse Russian-language music at the legislative level has broad support among young people. The study confirms that music has become an important factor in the civic self-determination of youth.

This study introduces the 3E framework of volunteering, including time exposure (e.g., volunteering hours), role engagement, and task essence (e.g., types of activities) and investigates how these dimensions and their interactions impact healthy aging outcomes in older adults. A mixed-methods cross-sectional study using purposive sampling was conducted in social care units with 457 participants aged 60 and older who volunteered at least one hour in the past year in Hong Kong (2024-2025), in addition to seven focus groups involving 46 older adults. Role engagement in volunteering was assessed using the adapted Chinese version of the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale. Role engagement (β = 0.92, p < .001), emotional support tasks (β = 1.35, p = .022), and creative activities (β = 1.09, p = .018) were positively associated with subjective well-being (SWB). Creative activities were linked to better self-rated health, while time exposure was associated with improved cognition. Role engagement amplified the health benefits of both time exposure and task nature. A three-way interaction among role engagement, time exposure, and creative tasks was significantly associated with better SWB (β = 0.66, p = .026) and lower depressive symptoms (β = -0.39, p = .027). Qualitative findings revealed that role engagement in late-life volunteering unfolds through four themes: role internalization, mental resilience, cognitive investment, and meaning-making. This study validates the 3E framework, demonstrating that role engagement optimizes the health benefits of late-life volunteering hours and volunteering types. Policymakers should transition from focusing solely on volunteering quantity to adopting a holistic approach that optimizes healthy-aging benefits of late-life volunteering.

Autistic individuals admitted to intensive care units (ICUs) face unique challenges due to sensory sensitivities, communication barriers and behavioural complexities. In such high-acuity environments, families play a critical role in advocating for their loved ones' needs, yet their experiences remain underexplored-particularly in Middle Eastern contexts, where caregiving is deeply embedded in cultural and spiritual responsibilities. To explore the lived experiences of family caregivers supporting autistic relatives during ICU admissions, with particular attention to communication challenges, emotional burdens, cultural values and ethical considerations. This qualitative phenomenological study was conducted at a hospital in Saudi Arabia. In-depth, semi-structured interviews were carried out with family caregivers of autistic ICU patients. Thematic analysis was performed using Braun and Clarke's six-phase framework, and the study followed the Standards for Reporting Qualitative Research (SRQR) guidelines to ensure rigour and transparency. In total, 14 caregivers were interviewed. Three major themes were identified: (1) Advocacy Amid Uncertainty, reflecting the emotional strain, communication barriers and isolation experienced by caregivers advocating in high-stress environments; (2) Negotiating Care Roles, capturing how families collaboratively distributed advocacy tasks while navigating generational and interpersonal tensions; and (3) Cultural and Ethical Framing, illustrating how deeply held values, religious beliefs and moral obligations shaped families' interpretations and decisions. Families of autistic ICU patients navigate multifaceted roles as advocates, interpreters and emotional supports within a culturally complex landscape. Their experiences reflect a need for more inclusive, autism-informed and family-centred critical care practices that respect both neurodiversity and cultural context. ICU nurses and interdisciplinary teams can improve care for autistic patients by engaging families as expert partners, adapting communication strategies and supporting culturally and spiritually grounded advocacy. Integrating family-informed care planning, reducing sensory overstimulation and honouring faith-based practices can enhance trust, emotional stability and care outcomes in neurodiverse ICU populations.

Introduction: Obstetric and gynecological violence continues to be a serious problem in developing countries, where women's reproductive rights are violated; therefore, it was proposed to analyze how humanized childbirth is provided in obstetric services to ensure maternal and neonatal health, as well as the strategies implemented in the care of the couple. Methods: A literature review study of original studies in Spanish, English and Portuguese was arried out, with a sample of 30 articles selected from indexed databases such as SCOPUS, SCIELO, CINALH, PUBMED and REDALYC. These sources were organized in an Excel matrix for analysis using the CASPe critical reading rubric to verify the rigor and scientific quality according to the selection criteria. Results: Humanized childbirth fosters the mother-baby bond, direct skin-to-skin contact, early initiation of breastfeeding and the participation of the woman, which improves the physical and emotional health of both, reduces postpartum complications and strengthens emotional bonds. In addition, it respects cultural beliefs and fosters an environment of family support, which makes it possible to face challenges such as resistance to change, infrastructure limitations and work overload. Conclusion: This approach promotes a safe, quality and family-centered environment, integrating strategies that promote the wellbeing of the trinomial, where emotional support and the reduction of unnecessary medical interventions favor natural childbirth, direct skin-to-skin contact, breastfeeding and family involvement, thus reducing the risk of complications in the puerperium.

This study investigated the mediating role of self-compassion in the relationship between hope and anxiety among college students. A total of 304 students from Manila City completed three standardized survey instruments. Mediation analysis using statistical software indicated that self-compassion significantly mediated the relationship between hope and anxiety. The results demonstrate that hope indirectly reduces anxiety by enhancing self compassion. These findings underscore the importance of integrating self compassion into interventions and programs designed to reduce anxiety among college students. The study provides insights for mental health professionals and educators, supporting the adoption of self-compassion-based approaches in therapeutic and educational settings. Additionally, the findings advocate implementing mental health strategies in higher education to ensure adequate academic and emotional support for students.
