A review of the inelastic interactions between complex nuclei and nucleons with energies in excess of 100 Mev is presented, with emphasis placed on the nuclei and nucleons emitted. The theoretical aspects of high-energy reactions in terms of optical model are discussed. The measurement of the total inelastic cross section for the interaction of high-energy particles with compiex nuclei is discussed. The relative isobaric yields and the massyield distribution of spallation and fission products from high-energy reactions are reviewed. The mechanisms of light-particle emission and fragmentation are discussed. (C.J.G.)
