PurposeIn this article, we scrutinized the impacts of non-linear thermal radiations on SWCNT−TiO2&MWCNT−CoFe2O4 nanoparticles suspended in water-based hybrid type nanofluid flow over rotating disk. The effects of nonlinear thermal radiation are considered. The flow is induced through rotating disk. There is a huge market for nanotechnology, and the development of these materials can be predicted to be very light. The effects of shape factors are also considered. Nanomaterials are characterized into different types due to its shapes, features and size of materials. General types nanomaterials catagories include carbon nanotubes. Further CNTs are divided into two different shapes includes single wall carbon nanotudes (SWCNTs) and multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs). Carbon nanotubes have significants applications in energy storages, damping and fracture toughness stiffness. Carbon nanotubes are most commonly used in the fields of energy conservation, thermal stability, nanotubes transistors and electromagnetic fields and many areas. MethodologyThe system of governing partial differential equations are reduced to dimensionless ordinary equations by using similarity transformations and then solved with bvp4c in-built function Matlab. behavioral analysis of velocity components and heat transfer of different parameter values are evaluated utilizing graphs. FindingsThe results shows that Velocity components are reduces via larger estimation of magnetic parameter. The solid particle frictions improves the velocity field. temperature ratio parameter aid to improves the heat transfer. Furthermore temperature is reduced via Prandtl number.

Chemically reactive flow of hyperbolic tangent fluid flow having thermal radiation and double stratification embedded in porous medium

The current assessment deals with thermal and solutal stratifications in two-dimensional mixed convection tangent hyperbolic fluid past a stretched surface in porous medium under the effects of magnetic field. Theoretical analysis is made for heat transfer and mass transfer by considering the effects of non-linear thermal radiation, chemical reaction, exothermic reaction. The governing model equations (PDEs) are transformed into highly nonlinear ODEs by using suitable transformations. The Homotopy analysis-based technique BVPh 2.0 is utilized to solve the transform nonlinear ODEs. The significant outcomes are delineated for distinct values of dimensionless parameters. The numerical values of drag coefficient, heat transfer and mass transfer rate are presented in tabular form. In order to validate the obtained outcomes, we compared the results with earlier published article and find good agreement. From the results it is concluded that velocity shows decreasing behavior for Wi, power law index n,M and porosity parameters pm and the opposite trend is observed for the mixed convection parameter λ. In most of the engineering and real-world problems, skin friction is not desirable, so it can be decreased by decreasing the values of chemical reaction parameter, mixed convection parameter and buoyancy ratio parameter.

Design of intelligent computing networks for numerical treatment of thin film flow of Maxwell nanofluid over a stretched and rotating surface

In this study, a novel application of backpropagated Levenberg-Marquardt neural networks (LM-NN) based computational intelligent heuristics is presented to interpret the analysis of Maxwell nanofluid thin film flow over a stretchable and rotating disk by considering magnetic and non-linear thermal radiation effects. Utilizing the Buongiorno model, thermophoretic and Brownian motion features of nanofluid are captured. The mathematical model in terms of partial differential equations (PDEs) is reduced to ordinary differential equations (ODEs) by incorporating the similarity transformations. The Adams numerical technique is utilized for generation of a dataset for proposed LM-NN in case of sundry scenarios of TFFPMN by variation of Deborah number, thermophoresis number, Schmidt number, radiation and Brownian motion variables. The training, testing and validation of the intelligent solver LM-NN is performed to find the solution of TFFPMN for various scenarios. Comparison with standard solution verified the precision of LM-NN scheme for the solution of TFFPMN model through mean square error based figure of merit, regression analysis, absolute error analysis and histograms. It is found that radial and azimuthal velocities are decaying functions of Deborah number. Further the nanofluid temperature enhances against higher radiation and thermophoresis parameters. The comparative assessment is performed to validate the present results.

Effects of Non-Linear Thermal Radiation and Chemical Reaction on Time Dependent Flow of Williamson Nanofluid With Combine Electrical MHD and Activation Energy

The current article will present the impact of the heat and mass transfer of combine electrical MHD flow of time dependent Williamson fluid with nanoparticles by the incorporating the influences of non-linear thermal radiation and the chemical reaction through wedge shape geometry. The fluid flows past a porous stretching wedge with convected Nield boundary conditions. The several (geometrical and physical) conditions have been included to provide more practicable results. The effects of activation energy further discussed. Due to relevant similarity transformation, set of partial differential equations which is non-linear and complicated is converted into simplest system of ordinary differential equations. To obtain the desired solution, famous numerical technique (shooting) used with the help of bvp4c MATLAB coding. The variation physical quantities namely velocity, temperature, concentration of nanoparticles, local Sherwood number, coefficient of skin friction and local Nusselt number have been observed under the influence of emerging parameters. The elaborated discussion presented with graphical and tabular illustrations.

Joule Heating and Dissipation Effects on Magnetohydrodynamic Couple Stress Nanofluid Flow over a Bidirectional Stretching Surface

This work examines the effects of non-linear thermal radiation and Joule heating on MHD three-dimensional visco-elastic nanofluid flow due to a surface stretching in lateral directions. A coupled nonlinear differential system is generated from the boundary layer equations by using self-similarity variables and is then solved numerically by using most powerful shooting technique with Runge Kutta method of fourth order. The computational results for the flow variables are plotted graphically and are discussed in detail for various governing parameters that emerged in the analysis. It is observed that the momentum of the visco elastic nanofluid is better than that of a viscous fluid. Thicker thermal and concentration boundary layers are formed for increasing nonlinear thermal radiation and temperature ratio parameters. Also the results are in very good agreement with the outcomes available in the literature as a particular case. This model may play a significant role in the field of manufacturing and engineering applications.

Double‐diffusive natural convective stream due to moving vertical plate with nonlinear thermal radiation and Newton's boundary constraint

AbstractThis article investigates the heat and mass transmission of the double‐diffusive convective stream over a moving vertical plate with nonlinear thermal radiation and newton boundary conditions. The governing partial differential equations of the stream, heat, and concentration profiles were transformed into a system of nonlinear ordinary differential equation by utilizing resemblance transformation. This system was then resolved numerically by applying the fourth order Runge‐Kutta method with most efficient shooting technique. The effect of convection, buoyancy ratio, nonlinear thermal radiation, Prandtl number, Rayleigh number and Schmidt number are graphically scrutinized. The numerical results are obtained for velocity, temperature, and concentration profiles. It is found that when the velocity profile increases, heat and mass transfer rate decreases with an increase in the parametric value of buoyancy ratio parameter. It is found that the effect of nonlinear thermal radiation stabilizes the thermal boundary layer growth. The skin friction coefficient decreases with an increase in Prandtl number. However, the Nusselt number increases with an increase in the local convective heat transfer rate. The present results are very much promising, and further, there is a very good agreement of results when compared with earlier published results for some limiting conditions.

Heat and mass transfer analysis for bioconvective flow of Eyring Powell nanofluid over a Riga surface with nonlinear thermal features

AbstractThis study aims to explore the rheological consequences of Eyring Powell nanofluid along with the swimming characteristics of gyrotactic microorganisms over the surface of the Riga plate which is embedded in a porous medium. The bioconvection fluid flow phenomenon in the presence of perpendicularly applied magnetic field is investigated. The effects of nonlinear thermal radiation, heat source/sink, and activation energy subject to convective‐Nield boundary conditions are utilized in energy and concentration equations. A precise similarity transformation helps us to transform governing partial differential equations into ordinary differential equations and then numerically tackled through a well‐known shooting method. The upshots of several pertinent parameters upon the dimensionless profiles of velocity, temperature, concentration, and microorganisms are scrutinized. The heat as well as mass transfer rates and local density number are also calculated. To show the accuracy of the adopted numerical scheme a tabular comparison in limiting case is made between the present results and the results from the literature. Finally, the current study tells us that the pertinent parameters have produced a significant influence on the boundary layer profiles.

Effects of nonlinear thermal radiation over magnetized stagnation point flow of Williamson fluid in porous media driven by stretching sheet

AbstractIn this study, the stagnation point flow of a magnetized Williamson fluid past a stretching sheet in the presence of nonlinear thermal radiation and buoyancy effect is studied. The present situation is remodeled using similarity transformation that transforms the flow model of partial differential equations into the set of nonlinear ordinary differential equations. The fourth‐order Runge‐Kutta scheme and shooting method are employed to solve these reduced equations. The effects of various associated parameters over the velocity and temperature profiles are plotted and the outcome of each associated parameter is discussed through graphs. The key findings are noted as follows: the velocity profile declines with an increase in the magnetic force number, and an increment in buoyancy parameter leads to the increase in the boundary layer thickness and decrease in the thickness of the thermal boundary layer.

The current article investigates the impact of the bioconvection in an unsteady flow of magnetized Cross nanofluid with gyrotactic microorganisms and activation energy over a linearly stretched configuration. The analysis has been performed by utilizing the realistic Wu’s slip boundary and zero mass flux conditions. The effects of nonlinear thermal radiation and the activation energy are also addressed. The governing flow equations are deduced to a dimensionless form by considering suitable transformations which are numerically targeted via a shooting algorithm. The physical visualization of each physical parameter governing the flow problem has been displayed graphically for distribution of velocity, temperature, concentration and motile microorganisms. The numerical treatment for the variation of skin friction coefficient, local Nusselt number, local Sherwood number and motile density number is performed in tabular forms.

An exact analysis of radiative heat transfer and unsteady MHD convective flow of a second‐grade fluid with ramped wall motion and temperature

AbstractThe influence of simultaneously applied ramped boundary conditions on unsteady magnetohydrodynamic natural convective motion of a second‐grade fluid is investigated and analyzed in this study. The motion of the fluid is considered near an infinite upright plate that is nested in a porous medium subject to nonlinear thermal radiation effects. The Laplace transformation technique is utilized to acquire the exact solutions of momentum and energy equations. To effectively examine the rate of heat transfer and shear stress, the Nusselt number and skin friction coefficient are also established. The outcomes of mathematical computations are elucidated through tables and figures to highlight some physical aspects of the problem. Some limiting models of the present problem are also deduced and presented. On comparison, it is observed that the fluid exhibits lower temperature and velocity profiles under ramped boundary conditions. It is also found that wall shear stress can be controlled by choosing large values of the magnetic parameter (M) and Prandtl number (Pr). In addition, the heat transfer rate specifies inverse trends for growing values of radiation parameter (Nr) and Prandtl number (Pr), while it increases rapidly under a ramped surface condition and decreases slowly under a constant surface condition.

Effects of nonlinear thermal radiation and activation energy on modified second-grade nanofluid with Cattaneo–Christov expressions

The aim of the current contribution is to exploit the effects of nonlinear thermal radiation and activation energy on the flow of modified second-grade fluid with the utilization of nanoparticles. The induced flow has been considered by linear movement of stretched surface which is considered to be porous. Famous modified second-grade fluid enables one to capture the important rheological features of shear thinning and thickening. Following the modern aspects of heat and mass transportations, we have employed the theories of Cattaneo–Christov heat flux and generalized Fick’s relations. The additional features of thermal radiation are also utilized in the energy equations with nonlinear expressions. Further, the impact of activation energy is also considered in the current continuation which makes the study quite versatile. While operating the suitable variables, the constituted problem has been distracted in a dimensionless form. The solution procedure has been followed with the implementation of the famous shooting technique with desirable accuracy. The involved engineering parameters are explained graphically with interesting physical consequences. It is noted that velocity distribution declined with a stretching ratio constant and combined parameter. An improved nanoparticles temperature distribution is observed with increases in stretching parameter and Brownian motion constant. The study also reports that the presence of activation energy can be more useful to enhance reaction processes. Based on the obtained scientific computations, it is claimed that the reported results can play a useful role in manufacturing processes and improvement in energy and heat resources.

Simultaneous effects of nonlinear thermal radiation and Joule heating on the flow of Williamson nanofluid with entropy generation

The present communication addresses the heat and mass transfer mechanism in MHD nanofluid flow of Williamson fluid over a stretching sheet taking the combined effects of Joule heating, nonlinear thermal radiation and viscous dissipation into consideration. For physical relevance we also analyzed the influence of chemical reactions on the flow field. The appropriate transformations are implemented to metamorphose the governing PDEs into a set of coupled ODEs. The shooting technique along with fourth order Runge–Kutta method has been implemented to get the solutions of obtained highly non-linear ODEs. The second law of thermodynamics is implemented to model the equation of entropy generation for the current analysis. Impact of different dominant parameters on velocity, temperature, concentration, entropy generation as well as Bejan number are described through graphs whereas the variation in the skin friction coefficient, heat transfer rate and mass transfer rate are studied using numerical data in the tabular form. It is observed from the obtained numerical data that the rate of heat transfer gets reduced with increase in Eckert number while the thermal radiation parameter tends to enhance it. Increase in Brinkman parameter leads to a rise in entropy generation while it (Brinkman parameter) has an adverse effect on Bejan number.

Inclined magnetic field effects on Marangoni flow of Carreau liquid

Marangoni convection flow of Carreau liquid by an inclined porous surface is addressed. Magnetic field is taken inclined. Non-linear thermal radiation effects are incorporated considering the Rosseland?s approximation. Runge-Kutta-Fehl?berg fourth fifth order scheme is utilized to solve the non-linear equations subject to non-linear convective boundary conditions. Non-linear expression of Nusselt number is derived. Concrete graphical description is present out for flow velocity, temperature and Nusselt number. Numerical treatment of non-linear Nusselt number is performed and analyzed.

MODELING AND ANALYSIS OF MAGNETIZED CHEMICALLY REACTIVE FLUID FLOW PAST OVER POROUS STRETCHED SHEET

The aim of this article to inspect the effect of nonlinear thermal radiation, heat joule, viscous dissipation and magnetic field on viscoelastic second grade fluid. Flow is generated due to stretching of sheet. Flow features are studied considering hydrodynamic boundary conditions. Chemical reaction on the surface is further accounted. The flow governing nonlinear partial system of differential equations is obtained incorporating boundary layer assumptions. The dimensional model is made dimensionless by taking suitable transformations and then tackled via HAM for convergent series solution. Effects of flow controlling parameters on velocity, concentration, temperature, local skin friction coefficient, Sherwood number and Nusselt numbers are discussed by plotting graphs. Main observations are listed at the end.

Effect of nonlinear thermal radiation on 3D magneto slip flow of Eyring-Powell nanofluid flow over a slendering sheet with binary chemical reaction and Arrhenius activation energy

An analysis is performed to study the combined effects of nonlinear thermal radiation, Arrhenius activation energy, chemical reaction and heat generation/absorption on the steady three-dimensional magnetohydrodynamic flow of Eyring-Powell nanofluid flow over a slendering stretchable sheet with velocity, thermal and solutal slips. The prevailing partial differential equations are transmuted into coupled non-linear ordinary differential equations via with the suitable similarity transformations. The resultant non-linear coupled differential equations are solved numerically by using the R-K 4th order method along with shooting scheme. The results are calculated to measure the influence of sundry parameters on velocity, temperature, concentration, shear stress, temperature gradient and concentration gradient are presented graphically and in tabular form. It is noticed that the temperature is more impactable for higher values of radiative heat transport. The local Sherwood number decays exponentially for all the values of the chemical reaction parameter. We compared the present results for the limiting cases with previously published results, which has shown reliability and efficiency.

Second order velocity slip and thermal jump of Cu–water nanofluid over a cone in the presence of nonlinear radiation and nonuniform heat source/sink using homotopy analysis method

AbstractThe purpose of the present paper is to explore the second order slip effects on nanofluid flow over a vertical cone. The effects of nonlinear thermal radiation and nonuniform heat source/sink are also taken into account. Water with copper nanoparticles is used as nanofluid in this investigation. The governing partial differential equations for the flow are converted into ordinary differential equations by using transformations and then are solved using homotopy analysis method. The influence of various important parameters on velocity, temperature, skin‐friction, and Nusselt number are presented through graphs. Results indicate that the velocity and magnitude of skin friction decrease with a rise in first and second order velocity slips. A raise in either first or second order temperature jump causes a fall in temperature. Nonlinear radiation increases the more rapidly when compared to the linear radiation case.

Influence of non-linear radiation, Joule heating and viscous dissipation on the boundary layer flow of MHD nanofluid flow over a thin moving needle

Also, the boundary layer thicknesses for flow and temperature fields are addressed with the aid of graphs.Originality/valueTill now, no numerical study investigated the combined influence of Joule heating, non-linear thermal radiation and viscous dissipation on the mixed convective MHD flow of silver-water nanofluid flow past a thin moving needle. The numerical results for existing work are new and their novelty verified by comparing them with the work published earlier.

Effect of nonlinear thermal radiation on silver and copper water nanofluid flow due to a rotating disk with variable thickness in the presence of nonuniform heat source/sink using the homotopy analysis method

AbstractAn analysis of a steady axisymmetric heat transfer nanofluid flow due to a rotating disk having variable thickness in the presence of nonlinear radiation and nonuniform heat source/sink is presented. Water with Copper (Cu) and Silver (Ag) nanoparticles are utilized in the investigation. The governing equations along with boundary conditions are solved using the homotopy analysis method. A parametric study of the physical parameters is done and results are displayed in the form of graphs. The findings indicate that nonlinear radiation has a significant effect on temperature as well as on wall heat transfer when compared with linear case, which is more useful in few engineering processes.

Numerical study of non-linear thermal radiative heat transfer in a non-Darcy chemically reactive Casson fluid flow

Study of thermal radiative heat transport is relevant in several industrial applications. Analysis of radiative heat transfer in Newtonian fluids under different conditions has been studied extensively. However, not much attention has been paid to analyze the non-linear thermal radiative heat transfer in non-Darcy Casson fluid flows over stretching surfaces. Hence, in this paper an attempt is made to study the combined effect of non-linear thermal radiation and Navier slip in a magnetohydrodynamically and chemically reactive Casson fluid flow on a stretching surface immersed in a non-Darcy porous medium in the presence of thermo-diffusion. The physics of the problem is delineated by a set of partial differential equations. To solve these equations numerically scaling analysis and Runge–Kutta–Fehlberg method are sequentially applied. Computational results of the investigation are analyzed through graphs and tables. It is noted that the non-Newtonian rheology parameter, inertial and Lorentz forces are seen to suppress the flow while thermal and solutal buoyancy forces have an opposite effect. Parameters of temperature ratio and thermal radiation enhanced the temperature.
