Digital Literacy: A Strategy for Leveraging Skills Development

The main intention of this scientific article was to review the technical skills and social skills achieved with digital literacy in students of the San Isidro Rural Educational Institution in Santa Rosa de Osos, Antioquia, Colombia. It was sheltered under the theoretical postulates of Area, Gutiérrez and Vidal (2012), Cornachione (2006), Fonseca (2011), among other experts in the area that is developed; The study on digital literacy is framed in positivist thinking, since the variable was measured to compute derivations, then it was verified by descriptive statistics in which sequelae were compared with the assumptions and then, to outline the offer that aims to convert what is shown in the present article. The population of this study was eighty-two (82) individuals, including pedagogues and schoolchildren from the San Isidro Rural Educational Institution in Santa Rosa de Osos, Antioquia, Colombia. Specifically, the essence of the dissertation is that, once the corresponding digital literacy has been carried out in the students by the educational students, the progress of teaching skills is achieved through the diligence of actions using the Chamilo virtual medium, cognitive learning issues will be optimized, as well as educational progress in the educational entity.

Implementation of The School Budget Activity Plan Application (Arkas) And The Bos Fund Management Information System On The Accountability Of Bos Financial Reporting In Education Entities In Cirebon City

The purpose of this study was to analyse the effect of the School Budget Activity Plan (ARKAS) application and the BOS Management Information System (SIMBOS) application on the accountability of financial reporting of BOS funds in elementary schools in Cirebon City. We conducted this research using quantitative methods. We distributed questionnaires as part of the data collection technique. Furthermore, we will conduct validity and reliability tests on the responses to these questionnaires. We carried out the data analysis using linear regression. This research findings that the use of the School Budget Work Plan (ARKAS) application significantly influences the accountability of BOS fund use in elementary schools in Cirebon City, with better use of the ARKAS application leading to more transparent use of BOS funds. The BOS Management Information System (SIMBOS) also has a significant effect on the transparency of the use of BOS funds in public elementary schools in Cirebon City. The better the use of the ARKAS application, the more transparent the use of BOS funds.

Organizational Culture in Philosophical Review: Ontology, Epistemology, and Axiology

The cultural dimension of organizational culture is the centre of all aspects of an organization's life. This research aims to describe organizational culture in philosophical terms. This research uses a qualitative method with a literature study approach. Literature documents come from various books, journals and scientific works on organizational culture. This research shows that ontologically describing organizational culture is indeed proven to exist. In the epistemological aspect, it is related to knowledge, sources, characteristics, truth, and ways to show the existence of organizational culture in an organization. In the etymology aspect, organizational culture focuses on the sources scientists use in developing organizational culture and their methods. Ultimately, the axiology aspect discusses the relationship between organizational culture and values. Because it is related to values, axiology is related to whether or not organizational culture can be developed. Educational entities must pay attention to organizational culture to ensure the continued existence and success.

Innovation in Non-formal Education in Indonesia

Non-formal education has a strategic role in improving the quality of Indonesia's human resources. One effort to maximize the strategic role of non-formal education is to innovate non-formal education. This research aims to identify innovations in non-formal education in Indonesia. This research uses a qualitative, descriptive approach and literature study. Research data comes from journal articles related to non-formal education innovation from the Google Scholar database. The research results show that non-formal education innovation has been carried out in nine dimensions: social innovation, non-formal education supervision, institutional communication, the strategy of adversity quotient, standard operational procedures, methods, learning media, programs, and learning innovation. Therefore, the government needs to support the development of non-formal education innovations to optimize its strategic role in developing human resources in Indonesia. Apart from that, non-formal education entities need to increase collaboration with their strategic stakeholders.

The Implementation of Progressivism Philosophy Based on Educational Entities in Indonesia

In order to improve the quality of human resources, education entities in Indonesia implement an education system that includes elementary, middle, and high levels. One philosophical approach widely used in educational entities in Indonesia is the progressivism philosophical model. This research aims to determine the implementation of the progressivism philosophy in education in Indonesia. This research uses qualitative methods with two approaches: descriptive and literature study. Data is obtained randomly from various database sources—data disbursement using keywords related to the research theme. Next, data analysis was carried out descriptively by grouping it based on educational entities. The results of this research show that the philosophy of progressivism has been applied to various educational entities in Indonesia: Early Childhood Education (PAUD), Elementary Schools, Government, Formal Education Institutions, Madrasas, and Islamic Community Organizations. The results of this research have contributed to the insight that future research needs to be carried out regarding applying the philosophy of progressivism to non-formal education entities. Entities that wish to apply the philosophy of progressivism to their entities must pay attention to the implementation carried out by various entities in Indonesia.

Mathematics Teaching-Learning Methodology and Its Impact on Academic Performance

Mathematical logical thinking is essential for the development of cognitive constructs of complexity, where the symbolic and abstract take shape, hence the importance of teaching-learning of mathematics, however the strategies in the educational process are not always diverse. which may have an impact on academic performance. Objectives: identify the main methodological elements of teaching-learning mathematics and their relationship with academic performance. Methodology: the research was developed based on a quantitative, non-experimental and descriptive approach. An instrument designed with 12 questions was used, whose Cronbach's Alpha validity was .890, indicating internal consistency. The sample was 383 teachers from public and private educational entities, characterized by not having normality with a value of p .000. Results: The type of classes in public and private educational institutions is generally synthetic-analytical libraries, the institutional guide text and sources from institutional are used as guide materials, in addition, educators reinforce memory and understanding in students to enhance learning significantly, they implement problem solving and presentations, and evaluating through tests and projects. Conclusions: the mathematics teaching-learning methodology that the educators of the Sierra regime apply implies a synthetic-analytical modality, in addition, strategies are used that vary according to the type of educational entity.

경계선급 지적 기능성(BIF) 초등학생의 학교생활적응에 필요한 지원요소 탐색

The purpose of this study is to explore the support elements necessary for the adaptation of border-level intellectual functional elementary school students to school life recognized by field educators. One-on-one individual interviews were conducted with 10 public elementary school teachers and 10 teachers from alternative schools operated for border-level intellectual functional students. The results of similarity classification and importance evaluation were both visualized by a multidimensional scale analysis and hierarchical cluster analysis based on the extracted statements. As a result of this study, first, support in the relational aspect should be expanded. Support for border-level intellectual functional students, which has thus far been biased towards the learning aspect, should be provided in a balanced way when regarding the relational aspect. Second, support for establishing awareness of the educational community object is necessary; this is so that the educational community can fully understand the characteristics of border-level intellectual functionality that are distinguished from other disabilities. Third, cooperative support between several educational entities with homeroom teachers and parents as the core subjects is needed. In order for border-level intellectual functional elementary school students to adapt to school life, it should be recognized that support focus needs to be tailored towards how to create an educational environment including homes and schools surrounding them, rather than how to improve their functions.

The course of distance education in everyday pandemic life

Based on the studied specialist literature, the terms time, social time, local time, and individual and everyday time have been formulated. On this basis, the aim of the author's research was clarified: to determine the implementation of remote education during the pandemic in the perception of parents of seventh-grade students. The research issues are presented as a question: How do parents perceive remote education during the pandemic? The implementation of remote education was assumed to be a variable. The subject of direct analysis is the statements of 50 parents of fourth-grade students using an interview. Parents said that the more teachers and other school staff communicated with parents, the safer they felt. In the early days of the pandemic, they felt a lot of stress as parents. However, the school guided them ‘smoothly through the time of change.’ Between March and June 2019, they received emails, phone calls, and offers of help from schools. After a year of remote work, every educational entity has learned to function in a remote reality. Schools were in close contact with parents and actively involved them.

Diagnosis of The Training of Business Administrators of The National School of Sports and Its Incidence on The Generation of Soft Skills Year 2023

Objective: The research carries out a diagnosis of the training of business administrators and its impact on the generation of soft skills of the students of the program, at the National Sports School University Institution for the year 2023. Method: A theoretical-empirical investigation was carried out, whose approach is descriptive, keeping in mind the objective to be achieved. Reflecting whether the training activities in which the student is involved really contribute to the development of soft skills. Starting from the idea of ​​the constant change that is evident today in the capture of human capital by organizations, turning the above into a fundamental and necessary point for the evaluation of human capital. Research Findings and Discussions: The labor field was identified as a generating source of soft skills in the majority of the research participants, being of utmost importance the incursion into the program of activities that generate the previous ones, starting from the confrontation of the academic field with the economic sector, in simulated environments. Implications of the research: The research involved determining the scope and limitations of business administrator training around soft skills, a fundamental aspect regarding the student's employment relationship. Value originality: This research helps higher education entities identify adjustments or changes that they must make regarding the training of business administrators in favor of a successful connection to the labor field.

Policy Instrument Preferences and Optimization Strategies: Based Text Analysis of Provincial-Level Education Digitalization Policy from China

In the context of world education digitalization, the Chinese government has formulated China’s education digitalization strategy. The education digitalization policy tools of provincial governments are an important factor affecting the effectiveness of education digitalization policies. In this study, a text quantification and content analysis is conducted on educational digital policy documents released by eight provinces of China during the 14th Five-Year Plan period in China. This is based on a two-dimensional analysis framework of “instruments-value” using instrument types and policy principles, and NVivo software. The research outcomes reveal the following: (1) The distribution of educational digital policy instrument types is uneven, with an excess of supply-side instruments and a noticeable shortage of demand-side instruments. (2) Different policy instruments exhibit varying degrees of preference in implementing policy principles. There is a stronger emphasis on technology application and balanced development, while the emphasis on service principles promoting diverse participation is relatively weaker. (3) The policy instruments that facilitate interaction between policymakers and educational entities require further strengthening. In light of these findings, local governments in China should strengthen the use of demand-side policy instruments to achieve comprehensiveness and sustainability in educational digitalization. Policymakers should pay more attention to the demands of educational entities to shift educational digitalization from being technology driven to being demand driven. Furthermore, policy instrument selection should adhere to the value of serving and supporting individuals and reinforce the concept of multi-participation in their development, ultimately improving the precision and coordination of policies, and achieving a harmonious integration of technological and value aspects of policy instruments.

Technology Leadership in Education and Digital Integration In Educational Management

Technology leadership is the key to digital integration in the field of education. However, there are various constraints preventing comprehensive technology integration in education today. The purpose of this report is to examine, analyze, and compare two studies focusing on technology leadership of educational leaders and digital integration in education, particularly in the context of schools in Malaysia. The analysis and comparison of the studies specifically focus on the concept of the Technology Leadership Model using the NETS-A standards and how a hypothesis model is constructed based on NETS-A adjusted to the education system in this country. Findings from both selected articles indicate that the level of technology leadership of educational leaders is high, but there are still various issues related to technology leadership in Malaysia that need attention, such as leaders not practicing virtual leadership, teachers as leaders not being proficient in optimizing technology use, and current limitations in technology usage equipment. Implications for each discussed issue are examined from policy, training, administration, and educational leadership aspects to ensure that the proposed steps taken have a positive impact on all educational entities and institutions. The results of this report show that technology leadership plays a crucial role in digital integration in schools in line with the functions and roles of leaders as the primary drivers of schools.

초등학교 운동장 개선 사례를 통해 본 유아교육기관 바깥놀이터 개선방안 탐색

Purpose: To examine the characteristics of elementary school playground improvement cases and to explore ways to improve outdoor playgrounds of early childhood institutions. Method: The characteristics improvement cases were identified and the improvement plan for the outdoor playground of early childhood institutions was derived. Results: The playground with water and grass, with hills and tunnels, with a small forest, and built by the Ministry of Education, the Metropolitan Office of Education, students, teachers, parents, and experts. Based on this, the outdoor playground should be able to contain eco-friendly life and various plays, second, a space that can provide ecological education and rest, third, created by the educational entities together. Conclusion: Practical support policies from the municipal education offices are needed, and it should be improved by actively reflecting the needs of infants, teachers, and early childhood education experts.

Design Thinking Method Application in UI/UX Design on the Sabiekah E-Commerce Website

The rapid growth of electronic commerce (e-commerce) has compelled organizations, including educational entities such as Islamic boarding schools, to strategically prioritize the refinement of user experience on their website. Institution of Diniyyah Puteri Padang Panjang, one of the oldest Islamic boarding schools for girls, has a business unit under the supervision of Diniyyah Business Pillar. This business unit has established an e-commerce website to promote their services to the public. However, the user experience in terms of design (user interface) and functionality (user experience) has not received adequate attention. Therefore, a redesign of the Sabiekah e-commerce website has been undertaken with the goal of enhancing user experience through improved visuals. This research employs the design thinking method to design the UI/UX of the Sabiekah e-commerce website. The design thinking method consists of five stages: empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and testing. The usability testing results using the System Usability Scale (SUS)(Derisma, 2020; Sembodo et al., 2021; Welda et al., 2020) generated a score of 90. CourseKG: An Educational Knowledge Graph Based on Course Information for Precision Teaching

With the rapid development of advanced technologies, such as artificial intelligence and deep learning, educational informatization has entered a new era. However, the explosion of information has brought numerous challenges. Knowledge graphs, as a crucial component of artificial intelligence, can contribute to the quality of teaching. This study proposes an educational knowledge graph based on course information named CourseKG for precision teaching. Precision teaching seeks to individualize the curriculum for each learner and optimize learning efficiency. CourseKG aims to establish a correct and comprehensive curriculum knowledge system and promote personalized learning paths. CourseKG can address the issue that current general-purpose knowledge graphs are not suitable for the education field. Particularly, this study proposes a framework for educational entity recognition based on the pre-trained BERT model. This framework captures relevant information in the educational domain using the BERT model and combines it with the BiGRU and multi-head self-attention mechanism to extract multi-scale and multi-level global dependency relationships. In addition, the CRF is used for character-label decoding. Further, a relationship extraction method based on the BERT model, which integrates sentence features and educational entities and estimates the similarity between knowledge pairs using cosine similarity, is proposed. The proposed CourseKG is verified by experiments using real-world C programming course data. The experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of CourseKG. Finally, the results show that the proposed CourseKG can significantly enhance the precision teaching quality and realize multi-directional adaptation among teachers, courses, and students.

The Relevance of Historically Black Colleges and Universities: From a Critical Race Theorist Standpoint

ABSTRACT Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) were created to provide educational opportunities for African Americans when other educational pathways were closed or restricted. These higher education institutions with the assistance of the American Missionary Association and the Freedmen’s Bureau, churches and philanthropists, continue to educate African American leaders and advance society at large. From a Critical Race Theorists (CRT) perspective, the promotion and sustainability of HBCUs is relevant and much needed in the 21st century particularly with the gradual elimination of affirmative action standards at mainstream institutions. Acknowledging the persistence of racism, which CRT implores us to do, it is clear that HBCUs are critical educational entities as they lessen equity gaps and create opportunities for marginalized and disproportionately recognized students across the globe.

Geogebra Software And Playful Strategies In Mathematics Learning In Students Of A State Educational Entity Of Piura, 2023

The objective of the investigative study was to determine the effect of GeoGebra Software and playful strategies on mathematics learning in students of a state educational entity in Piura, 2023. The research was quantitative, applied and pre-experimental in design. The sample was 48 students, to whom a written test "I demonstrate my learning in mathematics" was administered, which has a KR-20 reliability of 0.823 and expert criterion validity with an Aiken V of 0.88. The results after the application of the program are positively evident in the achievement levels. Before the program, 85.42% of students were below expected achievement (Start and process) and after, 66.67% were in expected achievement and 8.33% in outstanding achievement. In the hypothesis testing, a significance of less than 5% (p<0.05) was obtained, determining the effect of the program in the four dimensions: solves problematic quantity situations; of regularity, equivalence and change; of form, movement and location; and data management and uncertainty, concluding that the use of GeoGebra software and playful strategies have a significant effect on mathematics learning.

Service delivery and quality assurance in administrative units of higher education institutions during the pandemic

Administrative services, traditionally seen as the backbone of these institutions, underwent significant shifts. Using a tool inspired by the Area X. Administration section of the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) instrument and grounded in the principles of Kivistö and Pekkola (2017), this study adopts a mixed-method approach to dissect these transitions. Our research unveils a robust move towards digitization, emphasizing the growing role of online learning and communication platforms in the modern educational business model. However, this digital embrace brings forth challenges, especially in areas like resource allocation, supply chain management, and stakeholder communication, which demand innovative business solutions. The findings underscore the need for ongoing improvement, adaptability, and the integration of modern business practices in the educational sector. This research serves as a roadmap, offering actionable insights for institutions aiming to optimize their administrative functions amidst changing business landscapes. Furthermore, it sets the stage for future researchers, emphasizing the blend of traditional educational values with contemporary business strategies, and encourages a more profound exploration of how educational institutions can navigate and thrive in today’s dynamic business environment.

ALTERNATIVE VISIONS FOR THE DNS: CORE, IAHC, AND THE POSSIBILITY FOR EXPANDED GTLDS IN EARLY GOVERNANCE POLICY

In 1994, U.S. President Clinton stated that the commercialization of the internet was a “top priority” for his administration. The domain name system (DNS), which was developed to deal with the growing unwieldiness of the commercial internet, was an early battleground in shaping the values of early internet governance policies. The system would include highly sought after addresses in generic top-level domains (gTLDS) that ended in .com, .gov, .org, .edu, and so on. Below this were second-level domains and country codes which ended web addresses in sequences like .uk, .jp, .ca, etc. This model raised legal and economic questions about trademarks, intellectual property, and the global distribution of addresses on top level domains. Technical experts were wary of the limitations of the proposed system, particularly given the potential to expand the number of gTLDs. While many groups responded to U.S. governance policy, a number of non-profit associations were particular vocal in their critique, most notably the Internet Council of Registrars (CORE), the International Ad Hoc Committee (IAHC), and the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) represented by Jon Postel. As the internet transitioned from a network used primarily by government and educational entities to a mass medium, there was a potential for revolutionary modes of communication, information sharing, education, creative expression, and a revolutionary, de-centralized structure of governance. The DNS debate resulted instead in support of predictable structures of power and a failure to realize that potential.
