I would have taken the liberty, of troubling you with a letter before I left Quebec; but being in hopes of making some observations at my arrival here, to join with those I now inclose, made at Quebec since I had the honor of transmitting to you my last, I deferred it till now, and am sorry to inform you, I have had no success with Jupiter's satellites, and must wait till after the conjunction of the planet with the Sun; when I shall use all my endeavours, to supply my losses that way, this season, through the badness of the weather, my travels, and the survey.

Eclipse of the Moon. Observed with a 3.5 feet achromatic treble object glass telescope of Dollond, with least magnifying power 30 times; and a 2 feet relfector of Short's with least magnifying power 60 times.

Observations of eclipses of Jupiter's satellites, made at Paris, in the observatory of the marine, in the year 1767, with an excellent Gregorian telescope of 30 inches focus, the great speculum 6 inches diameter, and the magnifying power 104 times.

Gentlemen, I Beg leave to lay before the Royal Society the following investigation of an irregularity in the duration of the eclipses of Jupiter's satellites, occasioned by the figure of his body.

Sir Thomas Derham, at Florence, having lately favoured me with his transcript of Monsignoir Bianchini's observations of the eclipses of Jupiter's satelites, from year 1721, I have laid them down so as to be seen at an early view, for the service of the R. S. Monsieur Bianchini saith, they were made with a telescope of Campani's grinding of 23 1/2 Roman palms: that Father Jo. Bapt. Carboni at Lisbon made use of such another of the same make, length, and goodness;

As exact Tables to calculate the Eclipses of the Circumjovials , would be of very great Service to find the Longitude of Places ; so I have some Hopes that these Observations of some of them, in more Revolutions that one of Jupiter in his Orb, may be of Use to correct, or make such Tables.

An extract of a letter from Mr. J. Flamsteed Astr. Reg. and Reg. Soc. S. givinghis calculation of the eclipses of Jupiters satellites for the year 1687. Together with a table of the parallaxes of the orb, and an ephemeris of Jupiters geocentric place for the same year; to which is added an observation of the eclipse of the Moon,

I give you here a catalogue of all the eclipses of 4 s satellites, for the ensueing year 1687.

Several observations of the eclipse of Jupiter by the Moon on March the 31th. 1686. St. Vet. whereof some account has already been given in Transaction No. 181

The most accurate observation of this eclipse we have received, is that of Mr. Cassini, made in the Royal Observatory at Paris, published in the Journal des Scavans of the 10th of June last, the substance whereof is as follows.

The observation of the eclipse of Jupiter and its satellites by the moon the 5 of June 1679. St. no. taken out of a letter written by Mr. Cassini to the author of the Journal Des Scavans.

Having found by calculation, that the moon ought to eclipse the planet Jupiter the 5 of June this year 1679.
