This article examines how digital technology affects the thinking and emotional well-being of young people. Spending too much time on screens can make it harder to concentrate, remember important information, get enough sleep, and manage emotions. Research shows that frequent use of smartphones and social media leads to serious problems known as digital dementia and brain rot. These habits can change brain function, cause unhealthy behaviors, and mental disorders. The negative effects can be reduced by setting limits on device use and encouraging controlled usage. Simple steps such as putting phones away during meals, reading printed books, and spending more time outdoors have been shown to have positive impacts on health. Taking regular breaks from digital content also helps the mind stay clear. The complex problem of the digital era can only be solved with collective action. All interested parties should cooperate on the policies and guidelines for using digital tools to protect mental health in the long run.

In the digital era, technological transformation was very important to support the smoothness and efficiency of data and information management. At the level of educational and religious institutions such as Mas Darrul Mukarram Barito Kuala, the existence of archives and documentation was essential, both for internal administrative needs and for public services. However, conventional archive management was still mostly done manually, which was prone to damage and data loss. In addition, the unstructured data search process made archive management efficiency very low. Therefore, the implementation of a digital archiving system became the right solution. By using appropriate technology such as CodeIgniter, which was a lightweight and efficient PHP framework, archive management became easier, faster, and more secure.

The enforcement of criminal law concerning electronic transaction crimes in Indonesia faces multifaceted challenges, including normative, structural, and technological obstacles. Although legal frameworks such as the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (Law No. 11 of 2008, as amended) and the new Indonesian Penal Code (Law No. 1 of 2023) address certain aspects of cybercrime, these regulations fall short in responding to the evolving complexity and transnational nature of digital offenses. This paper argues that a comprehensive and systemic reform of the criminal justice system is urgently needed. Such reform must include the development of adaptive legal norms, enhancement of law enforcement digital capacities, improvement of inter-agency coordination, and the digital transformation of criminal judicial procedures. By adopting retributive, restorative, and distributive justice approaches, Indonesia can strengthen its legal resilience and ensure equitable access to justice in the digital era.

This research examines the transformation of Quranic exegesis (tafsir) in the digital era, focusing on opportunities, challenges, and hermeneutical reorientation. The methodology employs a qualitative approach with literature studies and descriptive analysis of various digital platforms providing Quranic interpretation services. The findings indicate that the digital era offers significant opportunities in democratizing access to tafsir, facilitating cross-madhab verse search and interpretation, and developing interactive exegetical methodologies. However, major challenges include the validity and authority of digital tafsir sources, interpretation polarization, and degradation of classical scholarly traditions. Hermeneutical reorientation is necessary through developing digital epistemology that maintains classical hermeneutical principles while being adaptive to technological dynamics. This research contributes to developing a comprehensive digital hermeneutical framework for Quranic exegesis relevant to contemporary needs.

Purpose Based on the job demands-resource theory and the dualistic model of passion, this study explores the double-edged sword effect of digital transformation on employee work passion by constructing a dual-path model (i.e., the facilitating path and overloading path) as well as the crucial moderating role of digital transformational leadership. Design/methodology/approach A three-wave design was used to collect quantitative data from 387 leader-subordinate dyads. Testing the hypotheses was conducted through multiple regression analysis and moderated mediation regression analysis. Findings The results indicate that: (1) In the facilitating path, digital transformation positively affects employees' harmonious passion through psychological availability, (2) In the overloading path, digital transformation positively affects employees' obsessive passion by increasing their role overload and (3) Digital transformational leadership plays a moderating role in both paths, which strengthens the effect of facilitating path and alleviates the effect of overloading path. Originality/value This study elucidates the dual-path effects of digital transformation on employee work passion through an overarching theoretical framework, thereby reconciling previous inconsistent research findings. Furthermore, it reveals the differential boundary effects of digital transformational leadership within this dual-path mechanism, enriching both the conceptualization and empirical investigation of this emerging construct in digital era.

The development of digital technology has created serious challenges to the protection of citizens’ privacy rights. The rampant leakage and misuse of personal data by the public and private sectors shows the weakness of existing legal protection. Although Law Number 27 of 2022 concerning Personal Data Protection has been enacted, the effectiveness of its implementation is still in doubt, especially in ensuring justice for victims of privacy violations. This article analyzes the legal protection of privacy rights using the principle of justice approach, namely distributive, corrective, and procedural justice. The approach used is juridical-normative, complemented by case studies of personal data violations. The results of the study show that legal protection of privacy rights is still inadequate in substance. Therefore, the principle of justice needs to be used as the main foundation in the reconstruction of the legal system in the digital era.

In an era of rapid digitisation, our physical traits—faces, fingerprints, eyes—are increasingly treated as master keys to our identity. From unlocking smartphones with a glance to nationwide biometric ID programmes, the message is that our bodies can serve as passwords. This premise is dangerously flawed. Unlike a password, you cannot change your face or fingerprint once it is compromised. And when we allow machines to determine and verify who we are, we risk grave consequences for privacy, civil liberties, and even basic justice. The human body should never be a password—and machines must never have the final say in who we are.

In the era of rapid digitalization, government agencies are increasingly vulnerable to cyber threats that compromise institutional integrity and public trust. This study examined the cyber hygiene practices of government employees in Ifugao, Philippines, focusing on their knowledge, practices, challenges, and support needs. Employing an explanatory sequential mixed-methods design, quantitative data were collected from 150 respondents across provincial and national agencies using structured questionnaires, followed by qualitative interviews to deepen the interpretation of trends. Findings revealed a discrepancy between knowledge and practice: while employees demonstrated awareness of cyber hygiene measures such as password security, software updates, email safety, and data backup, their actual implementation was inconsistent. National agency employees generally exhibited higher compliance compared to provincial counterparts. Qualitative insights highlighted recurring barriers, including inadequate training, limited resources, and weak institutional support. Respondents expressed the need for structured awareness campaigns, regular training, and policy reinforcement to sustain cyber hygiene practices. The study concludes that although government employees possess fundamental knowledge of cybersecurity, gaps in behavior and organizational readiness persist, undermining resilience against cyber threats. The integration of both quantitative and qualitative results underscores the necessity of capacity-building, institutionalized support systems, and context-specific interventions. These findings contribute to the national discourse on grassroots-level cyber resilience and align with the objectives of the Philippine National Cybersecurity Plan 2023–2028 to strengthen secure and digitally competent governance. In the digital transformation era, web-based warehouse management systems play an essential role in ensuring operational efficiency, yet their effectiveness depends not only on functional accuracy but also on a user-centered interface design. This study aims to redesign the interface of Company XYZ’s warehouse management system using the Task-Centered System Design (TCSD) method within the Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) framework. TCSD emphasizes mapping real user tasks, analyzing user-centered requirements, prototyping through scenarios, and conducting usability evaluations. Data were collected through direct observation, structured interviews, and literature review, followed by interface prototyping in Figma and testing with the Maze platform. Six main warehouse tasks login, item distribution, returns, receiving, cycle counting, and searching were evaluated with five participants. The results demonstrated a Task Success Rate (TSR) of 100% across all tasks, with the shortest average Time on Task (ToT) for login (7.89 seconds) and item search (8.58 seconds), and the longest for cycle counting (58.10 seconds). Click Rate (CR) and Error Rate (ER) varied depending on task complexity, with login and item search showing higher ER values, which were influenced by predefined task flows. Overall, findings confirm that TCSD yields a practical and measurable design aligned with user workflows, producing an interface that is efficient, user-friendly, and adaptable to warehouse operations. This research contributes to HCI studies by demonstrating the effectiveness of scenario-based design in logistics systems, while also highlighting the need for larger-scale usability testing in future work.

As higher education undergoes rapid transformation driven by Artificial Intelligence (AI), the integration of Generative AI (GenAI) has become essential for preparing future-ready creative professionals. In this context, design education plays a leading role in exploring how GenAI can enhance students’ experiential learning. This study empirically examined how three experience dimensions—Educational, Entertainment, and Aesthetic—shape Empathy, Immersion, Satisfaction, and Learning Outcomes in a GenAI-based self-character workshop. A total of 185 design students participated, and the data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results revealed that both Entertainment (β = 0.334, p < 0.001) and Aesthetic (β = 0.434, p < 0.001) experiences significantly and positively predicted Empathy and also increased Immersion (β = 0.215, p < 0.001; β = 0.154, p < 0.05). In contrast, Educational experience showed a non-significant or slightly negative effect. Furthermore, Empathy enhanced Immersion (β = 0.220, p < 0.01), Satisfaction (β = 0.173, p < 0.05), and Learning Outcomes (β = 0.305, p < 0.001). Immersion also improved Learning Outcomes (β = 0.253, p < 0.05) but slightly reduced short-term Satisfaction (β = −0.186, p < 0.05), indicating a cognitive-load trade-off between concentration and immediate enjoyment. These findings demonstrate that GenAI-based creative activities can effectively foster both emotional engagement and learning performance when instructional design minimizes unnecessary cognitive burden. The study contributes to understanding how emotionally meaningful and aesthetically engaging experiences can advance AI-integrated design education in the digital transformation era.

Civic Education (PKn) has a strategic role as the main means in internalizing the values of Pancasila to students. Through PKn, the process of forming the character and personality of citizens can be carried out systematically, sustainably, and contextually, based on the values of divinity, humanity, unity, democracy, and justice. The internalization of these values is not only through mastery of concepts, but also through habituation of attitudes and behaviors in daily life. An interactive, reflective, and social project-based approach to learning allows learners to actively develop moral awareness, social responsibility, and a sense of nationalism. PKn functions as a character education instrument that not only forms civic knowledge, but also builds a strong national identity and a tolerant spirit. In the context of globalization and the challenges of the digital era, civil society is an important foundation in equipping the young generation to be able to be critical, adaptive, and still uphold national values. Therefore, PKn is not just a formal subject, but a strategic vehicle in forming a generation with Pancasila character who is ready to contribute positively to the life of society, nation, and state. This research emphasizes the urgency of PKn revitalization as a transformative and contextual value education.
