부모의 부정적 양육태도가 청소년의 사이버 비행에 미치는 영향: 그릿과 공격성의 이중매개효과

Objectives The purpose of this study is to examine the dual mediating effects of grit and aggression on the relationship between adolescents’ perceptions of negative parenting attitudes and cyber delinquency. Methods The data were drawn from 2,590 first-year middle school students participating in the 2018 Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey (KCYPS 2018) conducted by the National Youth Policy Institute of Korea. Descriptive statistics were analyzed using SPSS 25.0, and Pearson's correlation analysis was conducted to examine the relationships between variables. To verify the dual mediation effects of grit and aggression on the relationship between negative parenting attitudes and cyber delinquency, Hayes’ (2022) PROCESS Macro 4.0, model 6, was used. Results First, the correlation analysis revealed that negative parenting attitudes, as perceived by adolescents, negatively influenced grit and positively influenced aggression and cyber delinquency. Grit negatively affected both aggression and cyber delinquency, while aggression positively influenced cyber delinquency. Second, grit and aggression were found to have significant mediating effects on the relationship between negative parenting attitudes and cyber delinquency. Lastly, grit and aggression demonstrated significant dual mediating effects in this relationship. Conclusions These findings underscore the importance of improving parenting attitudes to prevent cyber delinquency among adolescents. Additionally, the study highlights the need for educational intervention programs aimed at fostering grit and reducing aggression to support the healthy development of adolescents.

청소년의 학교적응 잠재프로파일 연구: 잠재프로파일에 따른 또래애착과 자기조절학습 영향력 탐색 및 사이버비행 인식 차이 검증

Objectives The purposes of this study is to identify the latent profiles of adolescents's school adjustment and differences in cyber delinquency awareness, and to explore the effects of peer attachment and self-regulated learning of predictors. Methods To this end 1,326 middle school students were surveyed in the 14th year of Korean Children's Panel were selected. The data were analyzed using latent profile analysis(LPA), multinominal logistic regression model, and analysis of variance. Results Major findings were as follows. First, as a result of latent profile analysis, the three-profile model that includes ‘low school adjustment group,’ ‘moderate school adjustment group,’ and ‘high school adjustment group’ was selected. Second, there was a significant difference in the awareness of cyber delinquency according to the latent profiles of school adjustment. The ‘high school adjustment group’ showed the highest level of cyber delinquency awareness, while the ‘low school adjustment group’ showed the lowest. Third, peer attachment and self-regulated learning had a significant impact on the classification of the latent profiles of school adjustment among adolescents. Conclusions This study identified different groups of school adjustment among adolescents using LPA and found that varying interventions for each latent profile can be effective in enhancing awareness of cyber delinquency issues by improving school adjustment. Our findings provide valuable implications for increasing adolescents' awareness of cyber delinquency through tailored interventions based on their school adjustment levels.

Exploring Major Predictors Affecting Real-Life and Cyber Delinquency of Middle School Students

Personalities, Cyber Activities, and Adolescent Cyber Delinquency

This study examines how crime propensity characteristics relate to cyber delinquency directly and indirectly, through crime opportunity. In doing so, it considers propensity by way of different aspects of personality and crime opportunity in the form of a comprehensive set of online activities. Both the direct and indirect relationships are modeled using path analysis in MPlus with the data from 2,015 students from schools in South Korea. Findings suggest several personality traits and online computer activities are significantly related to cyber delinquency. Moreover, these activities often mediate the effects of propensity as measured by personality factors. Overall, findings support the idea that individual enduring propensities and online activities work in tandem to predict adolescent cyber offending.

청소년의 그릿(grit)이 사이버비행에 미치는 영향

The purpose of the current study was to examine the relationships among adolescent grit, attention deficits, aggression, and cyber delinquency. The author analyzed the third wave data (9th grades) from Korean Child Youth Panel Study (KCYPS) 2018, using process macro program of multiple mediation modeling. Findings of the present study were as follows: First, attention deficit mediated the relationship between adolescent grit and cyber delinquency. Second, aggression also mediated the association between grit and cyber delinquency. Lastly, both attention deficit and aggression subsequently mediated the relationship between grit and cyber delinquency. To be specific, adolescents with higher levels of grit predict lower levels of attention deficit and subsequently predict lower levels of aggression, leading to decrease in cyber delinquency. In other words, adolescents with higher levels of grit are less likely to experience attention deficit and aggression, and thus, are protective of consequent cyber delinquency. In contrast, adolescents with lower levels of grit are more likely to follow the vicious path, where attention deficit aggravates into aggression and eventually intensifies cyber delinquency. Limitations and implications of the study were discussed.

청소년의 사회적위축 수준에 따른 부모양육태도와 사이버비행에 관한 연구

이 연구는 사회적위축 수준에 따른 통제변인의 영향력 차이를 중점으로 분석하며, 이 러한 차이가 부모양육태도와 사이버비행 간의 관계에도 영향을 미치는지 확인하고자 한다. 이를 위해 두 가지 연구질문을 설정하고 위계적 회귀분석을 진행하였다. 먼저 사회적위축 수준에 따라 통제변인인 성별 및 친구관계가 사이버비행에 미치는 영향의 차이가 있는지 확인하였다. 그 결과 사이버비행은 성별에 따라 유의한 차이를 보이지 않는 것으로 나타났으며, 친구관계는 사회적위축의 수준에 따라 사이버비행에 대한 영 향력의 차이를 보이는 것으로 확인되었다. 다음으로 전체모델에서 사회적위축 수준에 따라 긍정적 양육태도가 사이버비행에 미치는 영향력의 차이가 있는지 확인하였다. 그 결과 사회적위축이 낮은 집단은 긍정적 양육태도가 사이버비행에 유의한 부적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 반면 사회적위축 수준이 높은 청소년들은 부모의 양육태도가 사이버비행에 미치는 영향이 유의하지 않은 것으로 확인되었다. 이 연구는 비록 회귀분석 모델의 결과변수 분산 설명력의 문제가 있었으나 다음과 같 은 의의를 갖는다. 먼저 사회적위축이 낮은 집단의 결과를 통하여 청소년비행 및 문제 행동에 대한 양육태도의 중요성을 다시금 강조하였다는 데 의의가 있다. 또한 사회적 위축이 높은 집단의 결과는 청소년의 사이버비행을 예방하거나 억제하기 위해서는 사 회적위축의 수준에 따른 개별적 접근이 필요함을 시사하였다. 특히 사회적위축이 높은 집단에서는 부모의 양육태도보다 친구관계가 사이버비행에 미치는 영향력에서 우세한 것으로 보이므로, 가정차원에서의 부모양육태도와 함께 학교에서의 교우관계 측면이 동시에 제고되어야 할 것이다.

The Mediating Effect of Peer Relations and the Moderating Effect of Time Spent with Parents in the Relationship between Parenting Style and Adolescent‘s Cyber Delinquency

본 연구는 부모의 양육방식과 청소년의 사이버비행의 관계에서 또래관계의 매개효과와 부모와 함께 보내는 시간의 조절효과를 확인하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 분석을 위해 한국 아동청소년패널 2019년도 조사자료를 활용하였고, 구조방정식 경로분석을 실시한 결과, 또래관계에 대해서는 긍정적 양육태도(따스함, 자율성 지지, 구조제공)가 정적 영향을, 부정적 양육태도(거부, 비일관성)는 부적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며 사이버비행에 대해서는 비일관성이 정적 영향을 미치는 것을 확인하였다. 그리고 거부를 제외한 모든 양육태도 변수와 사이버비행의 관계에서 또래관계의 매개효과를 확인하였다. 부모와 함께 보내는 시간과 양육태도의 양, 질의 상호작용 효과를 확인하기 위해 다집단분석을 실시하였고, 분석결과 구조제공과 또래관계의 정적 효과가 부모와 함께 보내는 시간이 많은 집단에서만 유의한 것으로 나타나 상호작용효과가 유의함을 확인하였다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 상담현장에서 사이버비행을 감소시키기 위해 부모의 양육태도 방식을 개선할 수 있는 개입방안, 또래관계를 개선할 수 있는 개입방안, 부모와 대화시간을 증진할 수 있는 부모-자녀 기독교 동반활동, 그리고 부모자녀 프로그램 및 교육 등이 필요함을 논의하였다.The purpose of this study was to confirm the mediating effect of peer relations and the moderating effect of time spent with parents in the relationship between parenting style and adolescents’ cyber delinquency. As a result of conducting a path analysis, positive parenting attitudes had a positive effect on peer relations while negative parenting attitudes had a negative effect on peer relations. It was also observed that inconsistency had a positive effect on cyber delinquency. The mediating effect of peer relations was confirmed in the relationship between all parenting attitude variables except rejection and cyber delinquency. In addition, the mediating effect of peer relationships was confirmed in the relationship between parenting attitude variables and cyber delinquency. A multigroup analysis was conducted according to the time spent with parents, and there were differences between groups as a result of the analysis.

아동의 스마트폰 의존이 사이버비행과 현실비행에 미치는 영향

Objectives The purpose of this study is to verify the mediating effect of cooperation in the process of children's dependence on smartphones affecting cyber delinquency and real delinquency.
 Methods The subjects of the study are 2,404 first-year middle school students, which are panel data for the second year (2019) of ｢the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey (KCYPS) 2018｣. The relationship among the research variables was examined with Pearson correlation using SPSS 25.0 and AMOS 23.0, and the influence and the mediating effect were analyzed by structural equation. The direct and indirect effects and total effects were verified by two-sided test using bootstrap in the 95% confidence interval.
 Results The main results are as follows. First, real delinquency has a positive correlation with smartphone dependence, while the first and second factors of cooperation has a negative correlation. Cyber delinquency showed a positive correlation with smartphone dependence. On the other hand, the first and second factors of cooperation has a negative correlation. Second, it was found that smartphone dependence directly affects cyber and real delinquency, and cooperation is partially mediated in this process.
 Conclusions The results of this study confirm that smartphone dependence is an important factor in the process of affecting real delinquency and cyber delinquency, suggesting that it is necessary to find ways for cooperative activities for children.

The moderating effect of fandom activity on the relationship between cyber delinquency and real-life delinquency among adolescents

본 연구는 최근 우리 사회에서 증가하고 있는 청소년 사이버비행에 주목하여 사이버 비행이 현실비행에 미치는 영향을 분석하고, 사이버비행과 현실비행의 관계가 팬덤활동에 수준에 따라 달라지는지를 검증하기 위한 목적으로 수행되었다. 이를 위해 한국 아동⋅청소년 패널조사 2018 (KCYPS 2018) 중 1 패널 데이터 3차년도(2020)를 분석자료로 사용하였다. 중학교 3학년 학생 1,140명을 대상으로 Stata 17.0을 이용하여 최종 분석하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 청소년의 사이버비행경험이 많을수록 현실비행을 많이 하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 청소년들의 사이버비행과 현실비행 관계는 팬덤활동의 수준에 따라 달라지는 것으로 나타났다. 팬덤활동이 많은 집단이 적은 집단에 비해 사이버비행과 현실비행 관계가 상대적으로 강화되는 것으로 분석되었다. 즉, 사이버비행이 현실비행을 높이는 정도가 팬덤활동에 따라 다르게 나타나며, 팬덤활동을 많이 할수록 현실비행이 더 많이 증가하는 것을 보여주었다. 본 연구결과에 근거하여 사회복지현장에 새롭게 등장한 사이버 세계, 사이버 관계, 사이버 커뮤니티 등에 대한 사회복지사 교육과정 개발 및 전문적 지식과 기술증가의 필요성과 팬덤활동 영향력에 대한 사회복지사들의 접근 필요성 등을 제언하였다.

중학생의 스마트폰 의존, 주의집중, 사이버 비행 간의 구조적 관계

Objectives The purpose of this study is to verify the structural relationships between smartphone dependency, attention deficit, and cyber delinquency of Korean adolescents. Methods Data came from the wave 2 of KCYPS 2018. A total of 2,404 students (1,303 male and 1,101 female) attending the first year of middle school were selected. Data were anaylized to verify the multigroup SEM using SPSS 25.0 and AMOS 22.0. Results The main results are as follows. First, as a result of analyzing the correlation between variables focusing on cyber delinquency, there was a positive correlation with attention deficit and smartphone dependency. Second, attention deficit was partially mediated in the process of smartphone dependency influencing the cyber delinquency of adolescents. Third, the results of multi-group analysis based on gender indicated that the path of smart phone dependency to attention deficit was more powerful among male students than female students, which proved the partial adjustment effect. Conclusions Results implied the paths of attention deficit in the relationship between smartphone dependency and cyber delinquency according to the gender of adolescents. In addition, results suggested the future directions for further studies into this area and the implications for the intervention of cyber delinquency.

초기 청소년의 우울과 공격성이 사이버비행에 미치는 영향

The purpose of study is to examine psychological pathways of cyber delinquency andmoderated mediation effects of positive parenting attitudes in early adolescents. Study analysiswas conducted for 2,438 people using data from second year of Korean Children and YouthPanel Survey(KCYPS 2018) of the Korea Youth Policy Institute. Results are as follows. First,perfect mediation effect of aggression was found in the relationship between depression andcyber delinquency. Second, moderating effect of positive parenting attitude was proved. Third,in the indirect relationship between depression, aggression and cyber delinquency, moderatedmediation effects of positive parenting was verified. Among sub-variables of parenting, warmthshowed the strongest moderation effect and moderated mediating effect. Implications of thestudy and intervention plans to reduce the cyber delinquency of adolescents were suggested.

아동의 자아존중감이 사이버 비행 문제의식에 미치는 영향

Objectives The purpose of this study is to verify the mediating effect of peer attachment and teacher relationship in the process of children's self-esteem affecting cyber delinquency cultural consciousness. Methods Using the data from the 11th Korean Children's Panel (2018), 707 people who responded to all research variables were analyzed using SPSS 20.0 and AMOS 23.0. Results The main results are as follows. First, focusing on cyber delinquency problem consciousness, it showed the statistically-significant positive correlation with the intimacy of teacher relationship, while there was no statistically-significant correlation with self-esteem, peer attachment communication, trust, and teacher relationship conflict(reverse). Second, the measurement model was suitable, and convergent validity was confirmed. In the structural relationship, it was found that it had a complete mediating effect in the path of ‘self-esteem → peer attachment → teacher relationship → cyber delinquency problem consciousness’. Conclusions These findings are significant in that they reaffirm the importance of relationship formation and find ways to establish awareness of cyber delinquency problem consciousness.

청소년용 사이버비행 척도 개발의 타당화

This study aimed to develop the Korean scale that could assess cyber delinquency (tendency) for the youth. In study 1, preliminary questions were first collected among questionnaire items of previous studies on cyber-bullying or cyber violence, and extra useful questions were added after inquiring of adolescents and college students. A couple of psychological experts checked those questions and selected 40 questions. Considering principle component analysis result of preliminary survey and item characteristics, a set of 22 items was judged as cyber delinquency questionnaire. In study 2, this questionnaire and other relevant questionnaires assessing self-control, aggression, and self-esteem respectively, were surveyed for 219 adolescents. Exploratory factor analysis of the data identified 5 factors of cyber delinquency, such as cyber sexual problem, cyber illegal trading, cyber hate, cyber information crime, and cyber bullying. Correlation analysis among cyber delinquency, self-control, aggression, and self-esteem revealed the result that supported convergent and discriminant validity of the questionnaire. In study 3 using confirmatory factor analysis of another 265 adolescents’ data, χ2/df, RMSEA, and SRMR showed reasonable levels of goodness of fit, but CFI and TLI did not. Overall it was concluded that 5 factors’ structure of the current questionnaire was acceptable. Suggestions were made to utilize this cyber delinquency scale in many situations.

Smartphone Usage Patterns and Their Physical, Psychological, and Cyber-Behavioral Predictors Among Adolescents in South Korea.

Adolescents are described as digital natives, with smartphones deeply embedded in their lives. However, limited literature on smartphone usage patterns exists. This study examined adolescents' smartphone usage patterns and their physical, psychosocial, and cyber-behavioral profiles. We used latent profile analysis and a person-centered approach to investigate 11 items on smartphone use purpose and use time. Participants were 2324 first-year middle-school students (aged 13 years) from a nationally representative dataset. Four distinct profile groups were observed: minimalist users, entertainment users, social users, and multifunctional users. The 4 profiles differed by gender and physical (physical activity and obesity), psychosocial (relationships with their parents, depression, and academic lethargy), and cyber-behavioral (smartphone use time, computer use time, and cyber delinquency) status. Our findings have key research and real-world implications for developmental psychologists and school health providers, specifically for those who work with adolescents, to address concerns regarding adolescents' smartphone use. Adolescents use smartphones at varying times and for various purposes. A better understanding of adolescents' smartphone usage and purposes can help parents and school health providers develop and implement interventions.

What shapes cyber delinquency in adolescents?: A holistic and comparative analysis of cyber and traditional offline delinquencies

Despite extensive research, the question remains regarding what shapes cyber delinquency. Using Korean Children and Youth Panel Study, this study conducted a comparative examination of the factors affecting cyber and traditional offline delinquencies from a holistic perspective. The results show that cyber and traditional offline delinquencies have both distinctive and common factors. Both groups were affected by direct and indirect delinquency-related experiences, such as delinquent friends and victimization by delinquency. Intriguingly, cyber delinquency was not associated with many factors that strongly affected traditional offline delinquency, such as gender, aggression, and academic achievement. Rather, it was affected by other factors, such as depression, lack of attention, Internet use for social communications, and relationships with teachers. The results of this study suggest that cyber delinquents may be qualitatively different from traditional delinquents in many aspects, and therefore a more differentiated approach is needed to efficiently prevent cyber delinquency.
