Each period experiences an important transformation in Islamic religious education, which requires the development of an accurate curriculum with a strong foundation to achieve clear targets. This paper aims to investigate the contribution of curriculum development principles in the context of Islamic religious education. The writing method used is library research using scientific journals, books and online sources. The findings show how crucial a comprehensive understanding of the Islamic education curriculum, knowledge and science is, as well as the influence of scientific thinking on the progress of science and technology. This article emphasizes that the Islamic education curriculum goes beyond academic boundaries by integrating spiritual and moral aspects to form a generation that God-fearing. In addition, knowledge and science play an important role in education, while the philosophy of science guides the direction of the development of science and technology.

Perkembangan Kurikulum Pendidikan Agama Islam dan Pendidikan Budi Pekerti di SMA

The development of the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) and Character Education curriculum in Senior High Schools (SMA) is crucial amidst increasingly complex social dynamics. This research aims to analyze the curriculum development process of PAI and Character Education, focusing on the implementation of character-based learning methods. The research employs a qualitative approach through literature review to explore relevant theories and concepts. The research design centers on identifying curriculum development principles, including the stages of planning, implementation, and evaluation. The findings reveal that effective curriculum development involves intracurricular, co-curricular, and extracurricular activities, with the primary goal of shaping students with strong moral character and a deep understanding of religion. A holistic curriculum that is relevant to students' needs can strengthen their moral character and mitigate the negative influences from external environments. The implications of this research highlight the importance of collaboration between schools, parents, and the community in developing a PAI curriculum that can address contemporary challenges and prepare young generations to face modern life with integrity.

Basic education is the initial level of the national education system which aims to develop attitudes, abilities, and provide basic knowledge and skills needed to live in society and prepare students to continue to secondary level education. Basic education covers nine years, namely six years in elementary school and three years in junior high school. This article will discuss various aspects related to curriculum development policy in Indonesia, including the basics and principles of curriculum development, curriculum structure, and the curriculum design process.

Utilizing a participatory curriculum development approach for multidisciplinary training on the forensic medical evaluation of asylum seekers

BackgroundClinicians play an important role in asylum applications through the forensic medical evaluation (FME). The lack of adequately trained and knowledgeable clinicians limits access to FME. Participatory curriculum development is a powerful tool that elevates voices of multiple stakeholders to generate innovation in FME education. The objective of this study was to conduct an interview-based curricular needs assessment of the core skills needed to perform safe and effective FME and the most effective teaching methods targeting multidisciplinary learners. MethodsIn accordance with a participatory curriculum development framework, we conducted semi-structured interviews of individuals in four key stakeholder groups that play an important role in FME: asylees, experienced educators, prospective learners, and attorneys. We used grounded theory, an inductive approach to the thematic coding of interview transcripts. ResultsInterview participants described the most important skills for performing FME and approaches to teaching these skills. Thematic saturation was reached at 13 interviews. Four major themes central to an FME curriculum were identified: (1) Core knowledge and technical skills to perform effective FME, (2) Practical skills in a trauma-informed approach to FME, (3) Mitigating secondary trauma and building resilience, and (4) Teaching approaches for multi-disciplinary learners. ConclusionWe conducted an interview-based study utilizing participatory curriculum development principles to investigate the most important skills to conduct safe and effective FME of asylum seekers. We found that experiential training that emphasizes the practice of skills in a multi-disciplinary environment is more aligned with stakeholder needs than existing frameworks built around one-way knowledge transfer.

To obtain data from this problem, the author uses a qualitative descriptive method in the form of a literature review, thus proving a scientific study that can be researched and developed further. This research data collection technique was carried out by collecting various reference sources or literature that were considered appropriate, both in the form of soft and written text such as scientific articles, articles, textbooks, etc. The results of the data obtained by the author suggest that there are several principles of curriculum development that are often explored in research, including relevance, continuity, flexibility, effectiveness, practicality and others. By referring to the principles of curriculum development, curriculum development can work consistently, with direction, and with accountable results. Apart from that, the differences in principles in the curriculum and its development are marked by the fact that the curriculum itself is a field of study. Examining the principles of curriculum development can help increase our understanding of how to design an effective curriculum and respond to changing times. By understanding these principles, policy makers developing curricula can provide relevant and meaningful learning experiences for students.

Pengembangan Kurikulum PAI Berbasis Kearifan Lokal

This research aims to develop an Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum that integrates local wisdom values ​​to enrich students' learning experiences and support the development of their character and competencies. This research uses a library research approach to develop an Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum based on local wisdom, by collecting and analyzing information from related books and scientific journals. Data collection techniques include identification, collection, classification and content analysis of relevant literature. The collected data was then analyzed descriptively to describe the concept of local wisdom, principles of curriculum development, and examples of implementing PAI based on local wisdom. The results of this analysis are synthesized to form a conceptual framework and produce practical recommendations for relevant curriculum development. The result of this work, namely the development of an Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum based on local wisdom, is a complex effort involving analysis of local needs, intensive training for teachers, as well as the development of relevant and contextual teaching materials. By utilizing interactive learning strategies and collaboration with local communities, this curriculum becomes more relevant and meaningful for students, helping them understand local religious and cultural values. Regular evaluations ensure the effectiveness of the integration of local wisdom, while strong collaboration with community leaders and parents strengthens the relationship between the school and the community. The implication of this effort is to create more meaningful learning, increase students' understanding of religious and cultural values, and empower teachers to create a dynamic and inspiring learning environment.

Twelve tips for developing simulation-based mastery learning clinical skills checklists

Simulation-based mastery learning is a powerful educational paradigm that leads to high levels of performance through a combination of strict standards, deliberate practice, formative feedback, and rigorous assessment. Successful mastery learning curricula often require well-designed checklists that produce reliable data that contribute to valid decisions. The following twelve tips are intended to help educators create defensible and effective clinical skills checklists for use in mastery learning curricula. These tips focus on defining the scope of a checklist using established principles of curriculum development, crafting the checklist based on a literature review and expert input, revising and testing the checklist, and recruiting judges to set a minimum passing standard. While this article has a particular focus on mastery learning, with the exception of the tips related to standard setting, the general principles discussed apply to the development of any clinical skills checklist.

Socio-culturally responsive medical professionalism and ethics education: A curriculum co-creation approach

ABSTRACT Medical professionalism and ethics (MPE) are critical components influencing how medical practitioners provide patients with the highest standard of care. As a result, a structured attempt has been undertaken to enhance the content and teaching delivery of the medical professionalism and ethics education (MPEE) in the undergraduate medical curriculum. Guided by Vygotsky’s sociocultural learning theory, Harre and Van Langenhove’s positioning theory and Taba’s principles of curriculum development, a curriculum co-creation project was organized with the aim of developing a socio-culturally responsive MPEE. A total of fifteen medical students agreed to participate in the project where they co-created MPE curriculum with a medical educator over the course of three months. Upon completion of the project, a co-created, socio-culturally responsive MPE curriculum was presented. The thematic analysis revealed positive changes in the participants’ attitudes, skills, and behaviors towards co-creating the MPE curriculum. They also reported feeling a sense of fulfilment after having a transformative experience as curriculum co-creators and after receiving positive feedback from the faculty, staff, and other students on the co-created MPE curriculum. The project’s success demonstrates the importance of curriculum co-creation as a strategy to promote co-creation efforts among students and educators in developing a socio-culturally responsive curriculum. The project’s framework and practical recommendations can be adopted by other medical educators and faculties to encourage students’ participation and their role on curriculum development using the co-creation approach.

This research aims to analyze the dilemmas faced by Islamic educational institutions that implement the independent curriculum. The focus of the research is on implementation, and obstacles to maintaining Islamic characteristics in the latest curriculum. The research method used is qualitative, based on literature study. The data source used is the results of relevant research related to the topic, which is tracked using the publish or ferish application with a total of fifty relevant texts. Data analysis using systematic literature review. The results revealed that the Implementation of Merdeka Curriculum in Islamic Education Institutions involves the process of adapting Islamic principles in curriculum development which focuses on religious values, morals, and Islamic science. This involves preparing learning materials, teaching methods, and evaluations that are in accordance with Islamic values as well as the needs and context of the Islamic education institution. The constraints of implementing an independent curriculum in Islamic education institutions include limited resources, institutional conservatism, incompatibility with local needs, teacher and staff readiness, community and parent reactions, and performance evaluation and monitoring.

Engagement with medical education podcasts among health professions learners has been increasing steadily over the last several years. Prior ‘12 Tips’ publications have focused on helping medical educators create and publish their own podcasts. However, there is a gap in available resources to help educators incorporate an already existing and growing library of medical education podcasts into their curriculum rather than create their own. In this paper, the authors provide medical educators ‘12 Tips’ on how to integrate podcasts into their teaching sessions grounded in fundamental principles of curriculum development, cognitive science, and accessibility.

PROLOG KITAB AMSAL SEBAGAI LANDASAN PENGEMBANGAN KURIKULUM DI PERGURUAN TINGGI KRISTEN

The background to writing this article is the condition of education in Indonesia, including Christian universities, which in practice prioritizes only intellectuality. Even though the curriculum design has been prepared with comprehensive objectives, the facts prove that intellectuals occupy the golden seat in the world of education. Increasing intelligence without being balanced with spirituality, morality and practical skills will bring more harm than benefit. Therefore, this article aims to introduce the principles of curriculum development in Christian universities taken from the prologue of the Book of Proverbs, namely 1:1-7. Proverbs are suitable as a biblical basis for curriculum development because this book was originally used to instruct and educate young people in ancient Israel. The method used is literature study and exegetical analysis. As a result, the Prologue of Proverbs contains spiritual, intellectual, moral-social and practical aspects (problem solving), and it can be concluded that curriculum development in Christian universities needs to touch on these aspects.

Evaluasi Kurikulum Aqidah Akhlak di Madrasah Ibtidaiyah: Menyelaraskan Pendekatan Tematik dan Metode Pengajaran dengan Penggunaan ICT

This study evaluates the Aqidah Akhlak curriculum at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah, focusing on the appropriateness of approaches, strategies, and teaching methods. Although adapted to curriculum development principles, the curriculum remains a human creation that falls short of divine perfection. The primary focus is on the Aqidah Akhlak subjects for grades I and III, employing a thematic approach to facilitate understanding and memorization in line with competency standards. A deeper evaluation is necessary, particularly regarding the suitability of approaches and methods to the material characteristics, student and teacher abilities, and the availability of information and communication technology (ICT). The study reveals that curriculum evaluation and the application of Aqidah Akhlak learning at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah tend to be formative and summative, using written and oral tests focusing on cognitive aspects. The implementation of action tests encompassing psychomotor and cognitive aspects remains limited, while non-test evaluation methods such as sociometry and anecdotal records are infrequent. Highlighting a new theory in evaluating Aqidah Akhlak subjects at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah, this research underscores the importance of assessing student performance as a preferred alternative.

Student’s Perceptions of Curriculum Implementation in Higher Education

This research aims to determine the effect of curriculum implementation on learning effectiveness perceived by students. The research method used was a survey. The sample in this research was 100 master's and doctoral students at Jakarta State University. There are two instruments in this research to measure curriculum implementation (35 items, reliability 0.98) and effective learning (34 items, reliability 0.92). Data analysis in this research is descriptive statistical analysis, inferential statistics for linearity tests, and path analysis. The research results show that curriculum implementation has an influence on learning effectiveness. The research results show that the implementation of the Postgraduate curriculum has an impact on learning. Curriculum evaluation is important to develop effective learning based on curriculum development principles. The findings from this study also add information regarding the importance of involving students, lecturers and leaders so that the curriculum is more adaptive as a consideration in decision making. Popular music comes in a multitude of styles. This creates problems in offering decent popular music education, which concerns the stylistic vocal performance of popular music. Therefore, there is a need to examine the training curriculum provided currently. The research problems studied have adhered to the research questions for the study. At the same time, a conceptual framework for examining the functionality of the training curriculum encompasses the theoretical supports of four-dimensional matrixes and five principles of curriculum development. The case study can be carried out based on the conceptual framework to examine the training curriculum development of stylistic vocal performance education to ensure that the talents trained suit the market and music industry. The conceptual framework provides a structured approach for analysing and understanding the problem, and the case study method allows for an in-depth examination of a specific real-life situation or instance. By combining these two methods, the study can provide valuable insights and recommendations for improving the curriculum and training process.
