Cancer pain is one of the most common symptoms in cancer patients, which seriously affects their quality of life. Effective cancer pain control can significantly improve the quality of life of cancer patients. There has been mature diagnostic and therapeutic clinical guidelines and consensus on the management of chronic cancer pain at home and abroad. However, the consensus on rapid treatment of severe cancer pain is still lacking worldwide. Therefore, it is necessary to rebuild the concept of pain crisis, clarify the management principles and concepts, and effectively improve the quality of life of patients with cancer pain. Herein, the expert group clarifies the definition, diagnostic criteria and overall monitoring indicators of pain crisis, and forms a relatively complete management plan for cancer patients with pain crisis, thereby exploring a fast, safe and efficient management model of pain crisis that conforms to the clinical practice in China.
