Aluminum matrix composites (AMCs) are the most popular materials for use in a variety of industries, including the aerospace, automotive, and military sectors due to its advantageous features. In this study, the influence of AlN particles insertion on the morphology and mechanical properties were reported.Stir casting method was engaged to manufacture the AA2017 based composites reinforced with x wt.% of AlN particles (x = 0, 5, 10 and 15 wt%).The developed composites were undergone to conduct the tensile test, compression test, and hardness test as per ASTM standard. Microstructure of the proposed composites clearlyexposedthe homogeneous circulation of AlN particles and also no agglomeration formed within the matrix. The results showed the tensile strength (TS) compressive strength (CS)and hardness have drastically improved with insertion of AlN content in the base matrix. As a result, the better properties can be achieved in 15 wt% of AlN particles reinforced AA2017 matrix composite.
